KLANCE /Langst /Klangst /Keith Angst (Kangst?)

Lance McClain dies in battle, not that he minds, it's not like the team needed him anyways. He was planning on taking his own life anyways, so this battle failure was a plus. He's just the 7th wheel after all right? They have Allura to pilot the blue lion, and Shiro is back now, so Voltron will manage just fine after his death, right? Wrong. They all suffer because of this, it turns out, Lance was the one holding the team together. With his jokes, and his flirting, making light of heavy situations. Everyone is sad and irritable. They are all grieving in their own way. But Keith is taking it the hardest. He always had dewing so for Lance, he'd always wanted to confess to him, but he never had the guts, plus the figures Lance hated him. But now he regrets never working up the courage because now he will never be able to tell him.

Lance sees how much his death has effected everyone, he wishes he could talk to them one more time. To tell them that they don't have to feel bad about what happened. See, when Lance died, he had unfinished business, he died before his time, so his body parishes but his soul remained. He roams the castle halls, he rides with them in the lions as the others fight. He aides them in battle even though he remains unseen. He sees them grieving for him and he can feel nothing but guilt though it wasn't his fault that he died, it was the Galra's. He tries to speak to the other Paladins, but no one can see him. He goes about his usual activities of aimlessly roaming the castle and moping. Causing disturbances in the castle because of his paranormal energy, having Coran thinking it's the castle acting up.
Until,

"Lance?!" Keith stares in wide eyes.

"Wait, you can see me!?" Keith spots Lance, he actually sees him. Keith is confused on how Lance is still alive and in front of him, but Lance tells him that he didn't live.

Keith is glad to have Lance around, but not glad that he's dead. He's excited he's back, he excitedly runs to Shiro, Allura and the other Paladins telling them about how he saw Lance. They look at him upset and worried explaining to him he's just seeing things, he's still not over lances death, and he hasn't gotten much sleep since the death, so is imagination is acting up, and he's seeing thing. He tells them he's not seeing things, Lance is really there. Hunk places his hand on his shoulder saying.

"Yes, Lance will always be here with us, right here." Placing a hand on his heart.

No one believes him.

Lance and him hang out and grow closer, since Keith is the only one who can see him. He always hangs out with Lance. People worry for Keith's mental health, they think he's seeing things because he's still grieving and can't handle the death of his friend.

Keith and Lance continue to spend time together, sharing things together, Lance legs it slip that he wanted to die even before the accident. Keith comforts him saying that they all love, or loved him, and cared about him very much. Keith's feelings for Lance grow, but it's hard. He wants to hold Lance, and kiss him, and comfort him. But he can't, since Lance has no vessel.

Keith wants to die.

No one believes him about Lance still being here.

No one understands him, but Lance, and he's no longer alive.

He loves Lance, and wants to be with him.

He wants to die, and be a ghost with Lance, so they can spend an eternity with him.

He confesses to Lance his feelings, Lance is ecstatic, but quickly frowns and backs away. He knows he cannot be with Keith, it would never work. His life is over, but Keith is young sad had his whole life ahead of him. He tells Keith to get over him and move on.

He tells Lance that if he dies, then they could be together. But Lance just looks at him with horror. He doesn't want Keith to die! He wants him to live his life.

They go their separate ways. He no longer sees his ghost. He says he better off without him, he knew that as soon as Keith considered death for them to be together, that this whole relationship was bad.

He now resides in the blue lions consciousness, in the astral plane. When Allura goes to connect with blue, she can feel lances presence. Here him speak to her. When she sees through her eyes she saw Lance in the plane, sitting alone looking sad. She now starts to believe Keith when he says he saw Lance. Month pass by according the earth calendar, Keith really misses Lance, he goes into almost a depressed state knowing he lost Lance for a second time. He regrets telling him his feelings, he thinks if he just kept his emotions to himself and kept their friendship , then he would still be ha going out with him, and laughing with him in his room.

The alarms start blaring, snapping Keith out of his thoughts. He springs into action and suits up, getting into his lion. The Galra's had tracked down and spotted them and we're now attacking. A whole fleet with almost one hundred smaller ships start attacking. They take out many ships, but just as quick as they shoot the ships more drop out of the larger Galra ship. They seems to multiply, Allura is ready to call it quits and have them head back to the castle and wormhole away. They cannot firm Voltron, they had problems connecting with each other after Lances sudden and untimely death.
The larger ship suddenly joins and starts to fire at them, while the green lion is escaping towards the castle the larger ship gets ready to fire at Pidge. Keith in panic warns Pidge and pushes Pidge out of the way. The larger ship seems to be ready to fire some sort of larger blaster, like nothing they've seen before. It must've been a newer weapon designed. A large purple electrifying beam shoots out hitting the red lion. Keith scream in pain as he gets electrocuted. The red lion shuts down and Keith is now fully unconscious. They scream his name, the yellow lion and hunk grab red by the tail and drag her back to the castle. The rush Keith to the castle and get him into one of the healing pods. They suit him up and freeze him into the pod. Pidge but can't help but feel it was her fault that Keith was in there, if only she saw the blast coming her way, she could've moved out of the way in time. Keith wouldn't have had to jump in the way to save her.

It has been one Phoeb (month) they wonder why he isn't out, Coran checks and a panicked look quickly spreads on his face. He tells them they're losing Keith and that too much damage has been done. He tries his best to save him but his attempts are in vain. Shiro cries as he lost someone who was like a little brother to him. They all cry. No pulse, no brain waves, no vitals.

They remove Keith from the pod.

A week later they have their second funeral that year.

They mourn the death of another paladin.

They lost another friend.

They soon realize they can no longer for, Voltron with two Paladins dead.

Keith opens his eyes, and sees only white.he calls out to the other Paladins, but gets no response. He gets up and looks around, everywhere he looks he only sees bright whiteness. Off at the distance he sees a figure. He squints, and realizes it's his Lance.

He calls out to him and runs to him. Lance gives him a sad smile. He sighs.

"I thought I told you that you needed to live a long and full life." He runs over and hugs Lance. He can actually touch and hold him. It's all he wanted. Lance cries. "You're not supposed to be here."

He holds Lance tight saying how he missed him, he doesn't seem to hear what Lance is saying.
He tells Lance this is good, now they can be together forever. Lance still isn't happy about this, but he's happy he can be with Keith, the boy he's liked for years. He used the rivalry as a cover up, he said he was envious of Keith's skills when really he deeply admired him for his skills, and how he was so good without seeming to put in much effort.

They see a bright light that calls them towards it, the follow the light and disappear into it, they have now completed their unfinished business.

And then it ends there.
