Sometimes even good and complete books aren't read. Have someone beta-read your book, check your cover, and blurb out.

You aren't going to get reads right away. Writing and finishing another book is the best promotion for yourself. Writers who become successful with their first ongoing story are usually lucky, hit the right tag, or came with an audience from another site. Most Wattpaders won't find instant success with their first two books, let alone three chapters.

Sometimes luck is a bad thing. A lot of writers who hit lucky on their first book felt too much pressure and quit before it was finished.
