Stella's POV
Little cracks began to form along the shell of the light blue egg, forming a jagged pattern. As the cracks spread, the egg began to emit a low hum. I could see a bright shining light through the cracks in the egg. I began to back away, worried that it might explode. Suddenly, the light flashed bright blue.
When the light had dissipated, I looked around and realized that I was no longer in the stalactite cave. At first, it seemed that I was simply floating in a glorious white space, but I soon realized that I was, in fact, standing on a smooth, white marble floor. None of my siblings seemed to have followed me here, and so I began to worry. What happened? Why did my egg do that? Where am I? What's going on?
"Stella? Is that you?" I whipped around to find the source of the voice, but I saw no one.
"Who are you? What do you want?" I yelled into the emptiness. I wasn't really scared, simply unnerved. Leo? Can you hear me? No reply.
"Stella! It's me! Can you hear me?" I heard the voice again. It seemed to be coming from everywhere at once. Though strong, there was a slight quiver to it.
"Who are you?"
"Stella, don't you remember me? Remember my voice? Has it been that long?" Who...that voice. It does sound familiar... mother?
"Mom? Is that you? Stelliana?" I shout into the darkness, beginning to run between the tall pillars that framed the emptiness.
"Ah, Stella. You remember. Yes, I am your mother. And oh how I have missed you."
"Mom, where are you?" I continued to run, trying to follow her voice, but I couldn't seem to discern its origin.
"Don't worry Stella. I cannot appear to you at this moment, but I need to speak with you." Stelliana's voice was soothing and caring. "Stella, I have to warn you. You and your siblings are in grave danger. Before I was taken, I learned of a dark secret that nearly broke my heart. When I was pregnant with your dear sister Glacia and your brother Aquilo, I went missing for some time, about a week or so. Nobody knew where I went, and I couldn't remember even being gone."
"Up until recently, I hadn't known much about it. Before I was taken, I had been searching for some answers to questions that I desperately needed answered. One of them concerned my disappearance during that pregnancy. What I discovered was horrifying beyond imagine. I won't tell you everything, for I do not want to scar your young mind. I am going to tell you this; while I was gone, someone, I do not know who, used dark magic to remove your siblings from me, and replaced them with two other creatures."
"These creatures belonged in the darkest depths of nightmares. Sadly, the attachment that I had developed for the twins was too strong for me to notice that they were no longer my real children. And so, they continued to grow within me, until I gave birth to them. They had been planted at such a time that they were infused with my blood. That is how they have managed to escape my awareness. As they grew older, alongside you and the other children, they grew stronger and stronger in the dark ways of their master. Of course, they did this in complete secrecy. I never knew until recently."
"I do not know what became of your real brother and sister, but I do know this. Glacia and Aquilo are dangerous. They seek to destroy this family and all that you are striving for. Once they found out that I had discovered their secret, they did not hesitate to put their plan into action. Do not let them fool you. You must stop them. I know that this is surprising, but you need to believe in yourself."
With that, I felt the presence of Stelliana depart, leaving me reeling at what I had just learned. Glacia and Aquilo aren't my siblings? They're evil? What am I going to do? Will faith be enough to stop them? Suddenly, I realized that the white light was fading, leaving me standing once more in the Giant's Typewriter.
I must not let them know.
Know what? Leo asked.
I'll tell you later. I said.
I noticed that everyone was giving me weird looks.
"What?"
"Um, your egg is hatching" I turned to look at my egg, It was no longer shining like before, but the cracks were almost completely surrounding the egg. As the last unbroken spot was cracked, the egg made a resounding crack and the shell shattered.

Okay, so, this chapter will probably come as a surprise to most of you, but I felt that the story needed another unexpected twist to it, this time a little darker. I kind of want to know what happens next.
