Part 2
Hello! I'm back.
I didn't get any sleep that night. I got up the next morning, slightly less tired from when I went to bed, and got dressed. Then, I noticed the nerdy girl who got chosen for Slytherin, her name being Natalie. I slowly approached her, tapping her shoulder.
"Hey, I'm Kara. I noticed you like Anime?" I pointed to the shirt that had one of my favorites in it. A smile comfortable on my cheeks with content.
She gasped loudly; "You watch Yuri! On Ice?"
And that's how we started talking to eachother, and eventually became friends. All because of I noticed how much of a nerd she is.
Anyway, We ate breakfast next to eachother, then found we had our next class together. And the day continued, being new, but familiar. I found I had a few classes with Natalie and a few of my other friends, except for Aubrey.
I had managed to find her in the halls in between classes the next day.
"Hey, Aubs?" I called out.
"Hey, Karebear." She called back.
"So, how are we going to hang out?" I asked her.
"I don't know. They don't give us much free time, so... Maybe you could sneak into the Hufflepuff commons." She suggested.
"Yeah!" I shouted, before telling her the time I would be there, as I ran to class, along with the fact if I didn't show up, it was because I chickened out.
That day, I spent an hour trying to get myself ready to break one of the biggest, unnecessary rules in the world. I mean, what would happen if a Slytherin went into the Hufflepuff common room? Probably nothing, because of their kind attitude. But what if one of them follows the rules religiously like I do most of the time? I'd be too scared to say anything if someone came in, but I might report them...
I tried to flush away any doubts I had, grabbed my art supplies so I could draw with Aubrey, and ran to the Hufflepuff common room, right by the kitchen. I tapped the barrels in the correct order, after I had practiced on the wall multiple times, and I climbed into the place. I looked up and saw plants in the window seals, most of the room was made in wood, and it had a homely feeling that made you feel warm, like cookies were waiting to be given to you.
I looked around, and went to the room I know Aubrey stayed in. I opened the door and found a girl with long brown hair and big glasses that were cutely absurd in her, who was drawing in a little notebook.
"Hey." I called out.
"Oh, hi." She smiled shyly.
"Have you seen a girl named Aubrey?" I asked her.
"No. She might stay in here, but she's not here right now." She answered, confusion clear on her face.
Aubrey must not have heard me in the hallway when I told her what time I would be there.
"What'cha drawin'?" I drawled.
"A character I like from a YouTube show." She explained.
"What show?"
"Sanders sides." She stated, continuing her artwork, her cheeks slightly redder.
I gasped, a smile bright at the fact I had found another fander; "You watch Sanders Sides!"
"You do too?" Her eyes went wide, as I sat on the bed and looked at her drawing, with Patton displayed on it.
"Of course! Who's your favorite character?" I pestered, feeling utter joy again at someone else who liked the same stuff I did. I pulled out my pictures of the characters I loved, along with original characters that would be in the same universe.
We chatted for about an hour before I had to leave, a smile wide on my face. I was kind of bummed that I didn't get to see Aubrey, but at least I was able to make a new friend.
I saw Aubrey again the next day in the hallway, when he had a little more time than before.
"Sorry, I didn't hear you when you told me the time. I hope you didn't get int' trouble." She apologized.
"Don't worry about it, I talked to one of your roommates, and they seemed nice." I stated.
"Oh, that's good. Have you made any friends, Virgil?" She joked.
"Yeah, I have. Their really nice." I claimed.
"That's amazing, Kara. You need to get of your shell more, and you did it. Now you don't have to rely on me to introduce you to everyone." We both laughed at the truth of that statement.
"So, I'll see you at three, this afternoon, in your room?" I suggested.
"I'm free." She shrugged.
I remembered my new friend that I had met that belonged to my house; "Mind if I bring a friend?"
"Of course not, the more, the merrier." She dismissed before we split ways to go to our classes.
This would work. These seven years of my life would be fine, because I finally started making friends. I could do this. I could finally talk to people. That was the biggest relief in my life so far.
BTW I am very out of character in this, I would die before breaking any rules, even stupid ones. (Except for things like holding hands. That's really stupid, and the teachers don't reenforce it, so I have no worries. But things like no going into the other common rooms or you'll get suspended. Nah uh.)
