Anyway.

1) Stick to the prompt. I definitely encourage elaboration, but just remember the prompt is there for a reason.

2) Your entree must only be one part, however, this part can be as long as you want.

3) Please tag me in your entree with @WatsonPhia and tag the book with watsonphiawritingcontest. These are not the same kinds of tags, and if you need more explanation, I'd much rather you ask instead of ignoring them.

4) Your entree is due by the end of November. Any entrees entered after will be disqualified. 

5) If you wish to enter, ask and I will let you join. Please don't submit an entree before I let you join. If you wish to leave the contest after joining, for any reason, that is fine. Just let me know and I'll remove you from the list.

6) All entrees must be original works. The prompt is not fandom related, so none of the entrees should be either. (Sorry guys, but not this time.) All entrees must be written after joining, meaning that you can't submit a story you wrote before joining the contest. 

7) No hating on other people's work. I will disqualify you.

8) More of a tip than a rule, I will be judging based of quality of writing, concept creativity, and the development of the world/characters. So keep this in mind when writing. Also, everyone underestimates the power of good grammar.

9) I will be making a reading list of all the contest entrees, so if yours will be in a larger oneshots/short story book, make sure to clearly indicate which part is your entree so other people can read them. It's my whole goal of gathering them into a reading list, so you can read your competition and learn from each other.

10) Have fun, for goodness sake. 

I know it's a lot, but I've had a number of issues from past contests that I'm trying to clear up know. My goal is to make this go as smoothly as possible.
