There once were two friends, they had completely different heritages, backgrounds, and families. But they did have one thing in common: they were both orphans. It would seem like a coincidence to most, but the two soon-to-be friends parents died at the same time. They were shipped off to the same orphanage and became fast friends. They were there for almost three years, until the dreaded day came...

A couple came in and said they wanted a child with proper manners and they had come from a wealthy family. That description matched one of the friends perfectly, so she was taken away, plunging the other friend into deep sorrow. He wouldn't participate in any of the activities that he had previously loved. He didn't eat, and people started to get worried. Whenever they tried to talk to him, he would burst into tears. Finally, a family came in.

They said they wanted a child that was kind, but needed a little work. That matched the other friend perfectly. The only part that made him sad was that the two families the friends had gotten adopted into were polar opposites. One was poor, the other was rich, one lived in uptown, the other lived in a shack on the outskirts of town. The worst part was, the two friends were never aloud to see each other. They had been torn apart because of who they were.
