"It's really not that complicated." Kylo sighed sitting down on a rock. He was currently outside training with Lilac, who had absolutely no clue how to even use a lightsaber.
"Well, I'm trying my best! Unlike you, not everything comes easily to me." She huffed, crossing her arms.
"You think everything comes easy for me?"
"Um, yeah? You seem to be perfect at everything you do."
"Well, I'm afraid to say that you're mistaken. I'm not perfect."
There was silence. Kylo looked at the girl before him carefully.
"You think I'm perfect?" He said suddenly.
"W-what??" Lilac asked, confused.
"You think I'm perfect. Perfect hair, perfect body, perfect-"
"Dammit, stay out of my thoughts!" Lilac blushed before turning away from Kylo.
"Alright then. Time to get back to work." Kylo stood up, and walked over so that he was right behind Lilac.
"See that branch over there?" Lilac nodded in response. "I want you to try and hold it in the air for as long as you can."
"W-what? I really don't think I can do that." Lilac stared at the large branch nervously. She was no good at using the force, and could barely manage to lift small rocks. But, according to Kylo, it was very strong in her, so she had no choice but to believe him.
"Just try. I'll give you a treat if you can hold it for two minutes or longer." Kylo whispered in her ear.
"What kind of treat?" Kylo smirked at her words.
"It's a surprise. You'll find out eventually." Lilac let out an irritated sigh before concentrating on the branch. She held her hand out as she began to slowly lift the branch about a foot into the air. Lilac had never even attempted to lift anything larger than a coin or a pencil, and this huge branch was about three feet long, so holding it in the air was definitely a challenge.
"One minute left," Kylo whispered in Lilac's ear, his warm breath causing her to shiver with... pleasure? She couldn't really describe the feeling, but it was nice.
However, this threw Lilac off guard, and the branch became unbalanced, threatening to fall on the ground. Trying with all her might to keep the damn branch in the air, Lilac concentrated harder. She closed her eyes and focused, focused on the freaking branch, and the world around her.
Lilac focused on the smells of the forest surrounding her, the ground beneath her feet, the soft, barely audible sounds of the creatures of the forest going about their daily lives.
Kylo placed his hand on her shoulder, startling the poor girl, causing her to jump and fling the branch deep into the woods.
"Jesus, you scared the shit out of me! Don't do that!" Lilac shouted, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Well, I was simply going to tell you that you managed to hold that branch in the air for two minutes, exceeding my expectations. I honestly didn't think you'd be able to." Kylo smiled at her.
"I'm not sure whether to be proud or offended."
"Well, I did promise I'd give you a reward for managing to do that." Kylo chuckled. "And, I don't break promises, so here you go."
Kylo leaned in and gave Lilac a quick peck on the lips. Her cheeks turned 50 shades of red as she struggled to find the right words to say.
"W-what was that for? Y-you didn't have to do that, I-I mean there a lot of other-" Lilac began, but was interrupted by Kylo.
"I believe, upon mention of a treat, you said 'ooh, I hope it's a kiss.'" Kylo smirked before turning around and walking back to the village. Lilac stood for a moment, too shocked to speak. How did he know she wanted a kiss? And, why did he go through with it? It's not like they were a couple or anything.
"Wait a second," Lilac muttered grumpily, realizing that Kylo had snuck into her thoughts again.
"Get back here!" She yelled, chasing after Kylo, who had managed to walk a fairly long distance in the time she had been contemplating what the hell had happened. "I told you to stay out of my thoughts! Those are private, you know!"
