So you just got this great idea for an original story or fanfiction, before you publish the first chapter on wattpad there are several things you should consider first.

Ask yourself

What is going to happen in the story? do you have a pretty good idea of your story plot?

if you don't I suggest you plan before you write an actual chapter. this is quite important because if you don't have a good idea of what is going to happen You may eventually run into writers block, or lack of inspiration. I'm speaking from experience here, I have posted stories and then after posting a few chapters not really knowing where I'm going with the story. so planning is really important.

Another question you should ask yourself is, how good is your grammar and spelling?

If you aren't very good I suggest you get someone to edit your chapters for you. bad grammar and spelling can make some readers turn away the moment they see it. You should also make sure there are no spelling errors in your story's title, cover or description. if there are, someone may not even bother to read the first chapter, they would just leave your book as soon as they see the mistakes. since I am decent with grammar and spelling I edit my own chapters, but it might be best for you to get someone else to do it for you.

A/N I'm not going to pretend that I'm a writing expert, because I'm not. I joined wattpad a little over a year ago, and at first I just read fanfictions. but eventually I decided to try writing stories myself. all the stories that I've posted are fanfictions, but I recently got an idea for an original story. over the months that I have been on wattpad people have messaged me asking for advice on writing. I have tried to help them as best I can. that's part of the reason why I decided to make this book, I'm making it in order to help anyone who is new to writing , so they can hopefully find that they enjoy writing as much as I do.
