a lot of the different story types on wattpad have cliches that are done over and over again.  heck, some story types are done so much that they are cliche.  some examples of cliche stories are werewolf stories, or good girl bad boy stories. these stories are done so often that this story type is cliche.  If you want to do this type of story I suggest you try to make your story as unique as possible.

another common cliche is Mary Sue main characters.  these characters are basically what the author thinks is perfect in every way, for instance crazily thin, perfect appearance, usually rich. these characters are probably representations of what the author wishes they were like.  they also are in so many stories that they are extremely annoying.

Another common cliche that is extremely annoying is when the author uses the word orbs instead of eyes.  this annoys me and many other readers.  so I suggest you don't do this or at least keep it to a minimum. 

Avoid stereotypes, these might offend some readers which could cause them to stop reading your story, and possibly even report your story depending on how offended they are.

You might also want to avoid using common figures of speech that readers from other countries might not understand.

Try to keep your author's notes short and to a minimum, really long author's notes are really annoying, and many readers just scroll past them without actually reading them.
