Think about this for a moment.

The best way I can think to sum this up is to draw on the love triangle trope.  Julius Ceasar vs Mark Antony, Catherine of Aragon vs Anne Boleyn, Edward vs Jacob, Peeta vs Gale.  I could go on and on. The point is, each "suitor" had their followers, their morale standards, their good qualities.

You don't need to have an epic fight between good and bad to have a great story.  In fact, you can have conflict, serious conflict when you remove the obvious choices.   This is where things get interesting.

It doesn't have to be a love triangle conflict.  It could be new job across the country vs family obligations,  or even the choice between two dream jobs.  You get the idea.

Having your character choose between a rock and a hard place can create delicious grey areas to explore.  And create amazing stories.

What conflicts are in your work?
