One of the best ways to build an audience for your story is to create and stick to an update schedule for your chapter releases.  

There are two sides to this piece of advice.

The first one is pretty obvious.  If you fail to hit your scheduled update regularly, your readers may lose faith or fail to come back to the story. They're looking for their hit for that day and if you're not there they might find another story to read.

The second one, if you update to early, means your readers might miss your announcements and not realize new chapters are waiting.

Bonus chapters and slight delays are OK, but consistency is key to creating a relationship with your audience.
