This is a spin on the title of the classic book "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" by Lynne Truss.
If you haven't read it, I highly recommend checking it out. The purpose of the book is to highlight "the importance of punctuation in the English language by mixing humour and instruction." (Source: Wikipedia)
It covers the correct usage of commas, semi colons, exclamation marks etc., each one getting its own chapter.
Because punctuation matters. If you have entered a contest here on Wattpad (and I highly recommend you do it - its a great and humbling experience) you know punctuation, spelling and grammar is ALWAYS an area your book is judged on.
And it's not just them. Your readers are most definitely judging you on it. Personally, I trudge through the most boring story if its written correctly. But if I spot major grammar errors on the first page, I tune out almost immediately.
Your first chapter is your billboard for the rest of your book.
Do you bail when you come up against bad grammar or do you keep reading?
