Luckily this is so much easier now.  We can keep many books in our pocket.  On our phones. How many stories are there on Wattpad, Radish or KindleVella these days?

But the second part of RLS's advice should not be ignored. You never know when inspiration will strike.  

I use the notes app on my phone to jot down things. I currently have 6 different folders on the go - one for each of the 5 stories I'm working on and one for social media ideas. I am constantly typing or dictating to these pages. 

One of my most inspirational times was my drive home from work. My commute was about 40 minutes of mindless traffic jam. That time, between the pressures of the day job and getting excited about writing tonight's scene, I am often playing through scenarios and great lines or concepts come to me. 

Now, because I drive, typing is impossible but I have to "write" my inspirations down so I use the speech recognition feature on my phone and dictate to it.  My phone and I don't quite see eye to eye (or speak the same version of English) so it can be fun converting my ideas when I get home.
