The table presents results of a survey in which participants were asked about news coverage of celebrities. Generally speaking, the majority of respondents (85%) believed that celebrities were receiving too much news coverage. Only seven per cent thought the coverage was just right and six per cent considered the coverage not enough.

Among the participants, 56 per cent thought that news organisations needed to be responsible for spreading news about famous people while a surprisingly high proportion of surveyed people blamed the public for creating the publicity. Only seven per cent of participants believed both news organisations and the public should be held responsible for circulating the celebrity-related news.

In terms of medium, television was the most popular medium to carry celebrity news as ticked by 60 per cent of respondents. It was followed by Internet news websites (15%), the traditional print papers (12%) and radio news (5%).

From two to five per cent of respondents could not give answers to any of the given questions.
