You know how some people refer to writing as an "Exploration" type of thing? Well, I somewhat agree, depending on the story of exploration. 

But, if the story of the exploration goes something like this: 

He slowly put his hand through the leaves blindly and then...OUCH! A snake bit him!

Then, yes, it is quite a accurate "refer" to writing. 

Why you may ask? 

Well, have you ever read a book, and writer described something cooly or did something cool with the punctuation or font or format? And then you thought to yourself, "Hey, I want to try that!" 

And then you try doing it and it's like a snake biting your finger off because when you reread it you puke a little in your mouth? 

Yeah, that's how it has to do with exploration. 

So, it's a little bit of trial and error. 

I learned that using ALL CAP LETTERS WHEN YOU'RE YELLING AT SOMEONE can only be done by Stephanie Meyer, that descriptions that last thirty pages can only be done by Jane Austen, and that trying to make your character seem arrogant but still vulnerable can only be done by Cassanda Clare. 

Yeah, I have had quite a few, "Hey! I want to try that!" Moments. 

Most of them ended up with me curling into a ball in the corner and wishing I could pull something off that would be cool.

Hey, but is that going to stop me from continuously trying to be cool?

Hell no. 

You can bet I am going to keep trying at "fitting into the 'Cool Writers Group'" for as long as I write XD
