Yellow Belt-Activated
My feet dug deep into the earth with every step, propelling dirt mid-air as I raced through the forest.
The dogs were close.
Their ferocious barks sounded alarm, my heart pounding as they grew closer.
What do I do?
I navigated my way through the endless green, my eyes skimming the area, my body competing against my breath and heartbeat. I needed a place to hide but this forest wasn't safe.
My pursuers were after the chip lodged deep within the nape of my neck, holding a secret that had been unknown to me and they would stop at nothing until they held it along with its hidden truth.
I would gladly hand it over because I honestly had no idea where it came from or how it even got there but when they tried to remove it before, after convincing me to trust them, I could feel my very life escaping me.
To be caught, meant death, plain and simple.
I had escaped by means of a miracle, an accident made by one of the guards in Wellington's Estate. Knowing the next extraction attempt would end my life more than motivated me to take the once in a lifetime opportunity, bringing me to this exact moment.
Running through a forest, dogs chasing behind me and a group of well-armed men with one single goal in mind; subdue the target, by any means necessary.
From behind, I heard his voice, Wellington himself, calling out with a warning that sent shivers throughout my entire body. His voice was weighted with an intense seriousness, a determination that was beyond terrifying.
"Dead or alive! You are coming with me Enzo!"
Ahead of me was a clearing, a contrasting gray to the evergreen that surrounded me. I increased my speed by giving everything I had to my strides, fueled by hope.
But false hope was a dangerous curse.
And they were too fast.
I felt my world crashing as my body was forced to the ground. Pain dug its way deep into my left arm, its canines becoming one with me.
A loud scream escaped my mouth, birds fluttering away in an instant from my disturbance. Soon more of the golden-furred creatures surrounded me, shouting a loud defiance to my hope of escaping.
The pain was still there but for some reason, I could no longer feel it as much and for a moment, the world seemed to move out of place- glitch if you will - and everything switched from a once colorful world to black and white.
What the hell?
"Seems like you chose death. Fine by me Enzo."
BOOM!
I saw the words displayed in the void.
Resume From Checkpoint?
What did this mean?
Yes?...
My feet dug deep into the earth with every step, propelling dirt mid-air as I raced through the forest.
The dogs were close.
This...
I feel like...I've lived this before.
A voice now played in my head.
"Hello Enzo, you have been activated.
I am
Prion."
