Blue Belt - Til Death Do Us Part
"We'll be home free Sugarplum." His voice reverberated around the azure walls of the apartment.
"Carter baby, you know I'd die for you right?" She asked, pressing her body against his and tiptoeing to meet his face.
His lips tugged into a smile, complimenting the sea blue of his eyes.
Her smile was wide and he couldn't help but get lost in her light brown eyes. They were warm and inviting, calling him home to stay forever.
"I know Amie, but I won't ever let you. I'd die before that happens."
Her cheeks became roses, and she deeply inhaled, taking in the satisfaction that came with knowing you found the one.
"After tomorrow, let's get out of here okay?" Amie asked, pressing her lips softly against his before pulling away.
"I'll take you far away from here Sugarplum. I promise."
"We have to visit the bridge before we leave." Amie pouted, lowering her head to his chest."I'll take you there before we leave. I swear."
Carter wrapped his hands around her curvy figurine, squeezing tightly as the sky morphed into a sea of orange, soon becoming a map of destiny, stars scattered across its fabric.

"Five minutes" Carter stated, the subtle rays of the afternoon sun washing over the endless loops of black on his head.
In front of Carter were five others, two men and three women. About their bodies were civilian clothes, covered by trench coats of various colours.
"Joel and Lauryn, you're with Amie and I," Carter affixed his gaze to a tall, muscular man and a slender woman.
Joel's irises displayed a light green that complimented his spring green trench coat and a thin layer of golden stubble raced around his mouth.
Joel smirked. "This really is our last heist huh?"
A delicate smile played on Lauryn's thin, pink lips. The soft breeze coursed through her brunette hair, golden highlights at the end of each strand performing a graceful dance against the navy blue of her coat. " Let's make this one a heist to remember."
Her flattened chest rose up as she absorbed the oxygen around her, taking in all she could before setting it free.
In unison, they covered their faces with silicon face masks, veiling their true identities.
"Daryl, keep the van running," Carter nodded to a man clothed in a gray trench coat, "and Ava, get ready. Let's rob a frickin bank!"
~~~
"Good afternoon sir, how may I be of service?" From behind the glass, a feminine voice emerged.
The teller had a plastered smile, one offered to everyone that came to her. It was a normal day at work at Golden Bell Royal Bank. Or at least, it was supposed to be.
Carter pulled a black card from his camel trench coat and slid it under the little opening at the bottom of the glass.
"Good afternoon Ms," Carter responded, scanning her name tag, "Cadbury. That's a sweet name."
The woman's pale face flushed a deep red as she picked up the card but it all vanished when she flipped it over.
Her Lapis eyes widened and trembled at the sight.
The other side was black as well but a strip of gold ran down the middle. In the corner of two alternating sides, was a spade, a bold 'J' above each. In the middle of the card itself, was a two-faced joker, one half smiling and the other furious. It felt as though it leaped from the card to devour her soul and the uncontrollable tremor of her hand increased.
A deep crimson ran from the void in its eyes and a globe of cash circled its figure.
Beneath it, in a cursive font, was a name.
One infamous for executing flawless heists without fail.
"The Pillars"
Her left hand twitched to ring the silent alarm but the glimmer of the Desert Eagle Carter held froze her body in a thick layer of ice.
"Don't even think about it," Carter warned, his finger tightening around the trigger. He turned the gun to the other tellers, gesturing for them to come out. "Join the crowd, now!"
From behind Carter, two golden missiles shot through the air, shattering the glass above. It rained a deadly sharpness, slamming into the ground and dispersing even more like raindrops against solid concrete.
"This is a robbery! Everyone get down on the ground now!" Joel commanded, waving his matte black AR-15 around. "Don't be a hero because heroes die!"
Like sags of flesh, everyone fell to the floor instantly, leaving only the bank teller and the robbers standing.
Echoes of helpless screams and cries reverberated around the marble walls.
"Smartphones out! Slide them to the front! This isn't a movie so don't be foolish!" Lauryn called out, watching the phones slide towards where Carter stood.
"Now, Ms. Cadbury, would you be so kind as to lead us to that sexy little vault?" Amie asked, coming from behind Carter, caressing the grooves of her own Desert Eagle.
Hers was pink and black and her fingers cherished every hill and valley of it.
Ms. Cadbury stumbled from behind the teller station, her knees almost buckling under her as she passed the golden marble structure. Amie grabbed onto her shoulder, startling the bank teller, and guided her steps as she led them to the bank vault.
The vault was massive, the thick steel-reinforced concrete standing before them like a giant guardian. Two digital pads were on each side, acting as keys to the fortune behind them.
Ava rushed towards Amie and Carter, her thick black spectacles almost falling from her chocolate face. In her hand was a small, silver cuboid device and a tablet.
"Now Ms. Cadbury, enter the first code now." Carter demand, pointing his gun towards the petrified woman.
Her gulp was audible, and her face became a clammy pale, as her finger struggled to steady.
"Don't worry lady, we don't want to hurt anybody so if you do this you'll be free to go, I promise," Amie assured.
After entering the seven-digit code, Ms. Cadbury fell to her knees and passed out, literally exhausted from shouldering such a heavy layer of fear.
"Ava, you're up." Amie cheered.
Ava stepped towards the other pad, attaching the device to the side of it. Her fingers scattered across the tablet's keypad rapidly and a wide grin held her face hostage.
"As soon as the code is cracked, the authorities will be notified. You have two minutes so make it count." Ava informed right before a loud click echoed throughout the room.
The vault opened and Amie and Carter wasted no time filling the foldable duffle bags that had been stashed away in the confines of their trench coats and before two minutes had elapsed, they were finished.
Ava, Amie, and Carter regrouped with Lauryn and Joel, four duffle bags in total.
"Let's get out of here!" Amie commanded as they passed on the bags.
As they emerged from the bank, swarms of flashing lights came into view, only moments before jets of gold began to rip through the air, targeting the retreating group.
Joel, Lauryn and Ava hopped into the van while Carter and Amie covered them as long as they could.
"Go Sugarplum! I'll cover you!"
"I'm not leaving without you. If we go, we go together."
On the count of three, the two escaped from behind the car they used for cover and made a beeline for the van, firing shots as their legs traversed the asphalt below them.
The van was in reach when suddenly Amie looked back, only to see a gun aimed towards Carter's exposed back. Her finger clenched against her trigger but it was too late. The policeman had already fired.
With no time to think, Amie leaped into the path of the grim reaper's deadly package. It penetrated her flesh, lodging itself within her chest. A terrifying shriek emitting from her lips.
Carter snapped around, his face horrified as he saw her body falling to the floor in slow motion. He outstretched his arms and grabbed her, his eyes becoming cloudy, before turning around and putting her in the van.
More packages rained down on them, some piercing through his shoulders and legs but he didn't care.
Nothing else mattered.
Carter stood on the ledge of Creston Bridge, the place they first met two years prior, her lifeless body in his arms.
The red metallic infrastructure was as he remembered it, their initials carved deep into it.
He watched as his tears mixed into the roaring blue below before kissing her pale forehead.
The wind brushed against Carter's skin and a smile tugged at his lips as his eyes now fixated on the fiery horizon.
Once the place they met.Now the place they were to say goodbye.
Carter shook his head slowly, denying this reality.
No goodbyes.
Goodbye meant the end.
His leg dangled from the cold metal.
"Not even death can do us apart."
