We got the rest of the day off to get ready, that first day. Now today is the real deal. The day we actually go to our classes for the first time. I'm really happy that my new friend/roommate is in most of my classes. That's a big weight off of my shoulders.

"Really?" I groan. I'm looking at my first period class and I'm less than thrilled. It's gym class, even a talent school has gym? Not that I don't like sports, I am just... Well I'm slightly uncoordinated to put it mildly.

"What's your first class, Carrie?" Grace asks from across the room.

"I have gym. I hope they let us clean up after, I really don't wanna be sweaty all day long." I say giving my friend a shrug with my answer.

"Me too! I'm excited about it." Grace says happily. She's more of an athlete than me, has even been on a swim team. Yeah.. that won't be happening with me, I sink like a rock. A Chihuahua would have a more impressive doggie paddle.

"We better go then." I grin. Might as well get it over with. We walk and soon we are at the school gym. I knew where that was since that was where we did our auditions that first day. Slight comfort there but not much.

We open the doors and step inside. There's a dark haired woman dancing and singing, then she does a cart wheel and smiles at us. "You two are early." She's out of breath, and she seems happy about it. I think we may have just found our gym teacher.

Carrie and I introduce ourselves to the teacher and she shakes both of our hands. "I'm Miss Kim. I'm the gym teacher and the gymnastic and cheer leading coach. And the swim team." She laughs at herself. "I dabble in lots of the athletics here."

She is really nice and before the rest of the class arrives, well I don't know about Grace, but I feel a connection to Miss Kim. As the other students start entering the gym she smiles. "You girls remember if you ever need anything just say the word, and I'll be there. Any time or anywhere."

This school may just be exactly what I needed.
