WYP #3 - Liltroublexoxo [+ Announcement!]

Announcement

After careful consideration we have decided to revamp the WriteYourPath structure. By the time we reached this decision, we found that there were two entries submitted to our latest, Write Your Path. Before beginning this new leg in the Write Your Path book we did wish to highlight the work of two authors for interactive with our event.

With that being said, we're excited to present to you Liltroublexoxo entry for WYP #3, before the revamp.

You're a book geek. Those two words were the reason why you had a bruise on your hip bone. Why your lunch money disappeared every day but no food had ever passed your lips. Why insults that hit harder than boulders resulted to your eyes leaking ocular fluids and your relationship with the floor had only been getting stronger.

But your love for books is so much more than the fate hearted could see.

It was the idea of there being no limits. That the smell of parchment was your smell of freedom. That the plot twists would blow your mind and the scenarios to melt your heart.

The door seemed to pulse some sort of energy, the only thing stronger being the taunting glare of the grim reaper sitting not too far away. Fear snaked through you, weaving like stitches and tightening around your heart causing your mind to cloud over. The whole situation made you feel so overwhelmed that dizzy spells were kicking in. Or was the room really spinning? You put a hand out to stable your jelly-like legs.

The undertones of your emotions are adrenaline, which you can only relate to when hooked to a good story. Should you feel guilty?

But if there was one thing you could do was being able to reach to your logic through the haze of emotions. Almost like switching your humane weakness for background music.

The decision was simple due to the unbiased situation. Seeing as the opposing side had paranormal abilities, going through the doors was the safest option. There was undeniable death if she didn't and surely through the ominous figure who you want to do nothing but run away from. Who knew what was waiting for her behind those cedar doors? The markings were surely warnings in an ancient language. Of a curse? Of a doomed future? Or was this simply you thinking of the worst?

In truth you let your mind wander, stalling for the time you were savouring. But alas the thunder clap impact of the old man's rings hitting the mahogany desk caused you to jump and stumble towards the door not even sparing a glance back.

Time to start your story and you silently swore that you'd make it a good one.

Your sweaty palm wrapped around the round handle and with a slight yank the door peeled open. Before you can catch sight of anything, your hair wraps around your face swiftly, until all you see if darkness. Knowing there's only one thing you can do, you step one foot forward to only fall face first into nothingness.

Maybe you weren't prepared after all.
