From which country do you belong?
A. Canada. But, by nationality, I am Welsh and part German🙃.

Where did you come up with the idea of the story?
A. Sparkling Lake? Hmm, I think some time when I was daydreaming in school-- I do that a lot.
Plus, there was the ONC prompt to guide me.

Do you outline your stories or write whatever comes to your mind?
A. I plan them out in detail. I can’t write impromptu-- or whatever that is called. I just can’t🙃.

Why was the turning point of your life that you decided to take writing seriously?
A. I don’t have one… really, at 16, I don’t think anyone has a turning point, LOL.

Do you use any other website to update your story?
A. For a while, I considered writing on Inkitt, but nah. Wattpad is the best, despite all its
glitches.

Challenges you face while writing?
A. Oh there are a LOT! For starters, planning the story, characters, blah-blah so they sound
detailed, then delivering-- everything is a challenge if you ask me.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you do?
A. Paris! Paris! Paris ✈

How long have you been working in this book?
A. Well, as it was my ONC entry, I’d say a few months-- Feb, March, April. Yep, that’s it.

Did you learn something while writing the book?
A. Yeah, loads! For starters, I learnt that describing things can either be very great, or they can
be suckish like sour milk-- no kidding.

If you had to describe the two main leads in 3 words, what would you say?
A. Hmm… for Valara, I’d say: kind, helpful, unique; and Valentine: smart/rational, sensitive,
determined😉

What did you feel when you first saw you won?
A. Of course, I was jumping like a monkey on drugs and shaking like a maniac. I couldn’t
believe it, and I was thrilled😜

What is the key theme and message behind your book?
A. Hmm, is there one, really? Yet, if I had to say, it’d be: Even the most depressing starts can
morph into happy endings🤗

Describe your writing space.
A. My desk-- my study table. One half of it is littered with school books, graph sheets and
boring stuff; the other half, a.k.a. my ‘Hobby Table’ has my sketchbooks, paints, my laptop et
cetera. Of course, my Hobby Table serves as my writing space🤗

What do you think is the most difficult part if the writing process and why?
A. Everything!! No joke. Delivering my story so that readers can ‘live’ in that world is something
that I constantly struggle with.

The time or place when you get awesome ideas for your book?
A. I am sure that I am not the only one-- but in my sleep.

Did you do a writing course??If yes, pls mention it.
A. Nah, I don’t have the time. I just learnt from reading, and if I have any doubts, I look them
up on Google.

Which books did you find inspiration from or motivated you to pursue writing?
A. Oh, this is easy!! Harry Potter-- I was in the second grade when I read the series and since
then, I have been writing. Although, very shittily.

When you are writing the book, don't you fear if the book doesn't get published or loved, all your
effort would be wasted?( Cause Ifeel like that a lot)
A. Nah-- I am a really unbothered person, as you might have figured. And you shouldn’t feel
like that; write for yourself-- you’ll love it🤗.

Do you ever get attached to characters of your story?If so, what part of their personality or quirks
do you find relatable?
A. Yep, all the time! If we’re talking about ‘Sparkling Lake’, I’d say that Valara, Valentine,
Aytigin and Tyra are pieces of my heart. I can relate to everything about them-- especially
Valara.

So you base your characters from people in your personal life, imagination, or both?
A. Both. For example, Valentine’s personality is a lot like my best friend’s. And, in my other
book, ‘The W.A.I.T.’, Colwyn and Aela are a lot my brother and me.

What is the best part of writing a story?
A. Living it. While writing a story, it fills my thoughts, my dreams, my actions-- I just love that.

How do you have such amazing character development?? How did you learn it or was it in built in
you from the start? Can you pls tell me how to build a good character.
A. Wow, really? Thanks💖! I didn’t learn from anywhere though-- everything about the
‘technicalities’ of writing is what I have learnt from reading books.
Ah, alright😂Think of that character as your friend-- even if they are the villain of your
story. We should understand our characters, and who do we understand better than our
friends?

Do you wish to pursue writing full time? Cause I know you will definitely fly with brilliant colors!
A. Thank you😊💕I am humbled! Sadly, no, I do not wish to pursue writing as a full-time
profession😥.

Do you have any social media visibility so thatI can follow you?
A. Instagram and discord. I have sent my username via PM🙌🏻😉.

Why is your advice for those who couldn't place their names on the winners’ list? Any tips for them?
A. I don’t really think that I am in any place to say a thing… anyhoo, don’t take the fact that you
have not placed to heart-- your stories have great potential. Continue to love and nurture
them as if they are your babies, and one day, they’ll get to great places💕💖!

I know you are a great writer! Can you pls review my book ONE CHAPTER STORIES?It has only 3
chapters. And where can Iimprove in it?
A. Thank you so much💖, I am honoured. And of course! I love reading. I’ll add it onto my list
of books to review.

Among all the contests that you have participated in, have you found something positive or
negative about the contest?
A. I liked how the host is the judge-- this way, everything followed a timeline. Everything
seemed so organized-- just WOW! (Kudos to you for judging so many stories, by the way🙃)
