Shingo Takagi - New Japan Pro-Wrestling:

Note: This is in reverse chronological order.

Also, side-note for those not in the know for how title defences in New Japan work: New Japan tends to space out title defences and build up the defences more often than not.

For example: a wrestler could win a title in New Japan, Pro Wrestling Noah or All Japan Pro Wrestling for example, and their defences would be built up slowly or the champion would take part in tournaments and multi-man matches during their reign as well, and having maybe 1 defence for a 119+ day reign for example is not as big of an issue, compared to how it often would be for a promotion like WWE. So please bare that in mind.

NEVER Openweight Championship [Reign #5]: Won from Henare, 105 days after losing the title to him, on September 29th 2024 at NJPW's Destruction in Kobe 2024.

Lost The Title To: AEW's Konosuke Takeshita on January 4th 2025 at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 19 in a Winner Takes All match that also saw Takeshita put his AEW International Championship on the line as well!

[Days Held: 97 Days - Successful Title Defences: 1].

NEVER Openweight Championship [Reign #4]: Won, rather shockingly (as I found this out 5 days after this happened and didn't know this was a match that was happening), from former "L.I.J." stable mate Evil on April 6th 2024 at NJPW's Sakura Genesis 2024.

Lost The Title To: Henare, rather surprisingly, on June 16th 2024 at NJPW's New Japan Soul Night 1.

[Days Held: 71 Days - Successful Title Defences: 3].

NEVER Openweight Championship [Reign #3]: Surprisingly won from Tama Tonga on October 28th 2023 at NJPW Strong's Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2023, just over 2 weeks after Tama had won back the title from David Finlay - Lost The Title Back To: Tama Tonga on January 4th 2024 at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 18 in Tokyo Dome.

[Days Held: 68 Days - Successful Title Defences: 1].

KOPW (King of Pro-Wrestling) Trophy/Championship [Provisional Reign #2]: He became the first provisional champion for 2023(and the first one to win it as a championship belt) on January 5th 2023 at NJPW's New Year Dash!! 2023 by defeating Great-O-Khan, Sho, and Toru Yano in a four-way match.

Side-Note: For those confused, the King of Pro-Wrestling Championship (formerly a trophy from when it was created in 2020 up until it became an official title belt in the beginning of 2023) was something that wrestlers in New Japan Pro-Wrestling would fight over in different matches and stipulations over the course of a year, with an official champion of that year the trophy/title was defended being crowned towards the end of the year in December of that year in a match, and then a new provisional champion for the next year would be crowned at either Wrestle Kingdom or New Year Dash!! at the beginning of the next year.

Lost The Title To: Taichi on April 29th2023 at NJPW's Wrestling Satsuma No Kuni 2023 in a Takagi-Style Triad Match(whatever that is).

[Days Held: 114 Days - Successful Title Defences: 2].

KOPW (King of Pro-Wrestling) Trophy/Championship [Provisional Reign #1]: Won from Taichi on April 25th 2022 at NJPW's Golden Fight Series 2022 in a 30-count pinfall match to become the provisional champion.

Held Until: Becoming the official KOPW Champion for 2022 by defeating Taichi on December 19th 2022 at JTO 50th Anniversary for Taka Taichi Together in a Last Man Standing Lumberjack Match.

[Days Held: 238 Days - Successful "Title"/Trophy Defences: 4].

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship [Reign #1]: Defeated Kazuchika Okada on June 7th 2021 at New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall 2021 to win the vacant title. The title had been vacated from previous champion Will Ospreay on May 20th 2021, due to Ospreay suffering a neck injury, so Ospreay's intended opponent for Dominion - Okada - faced Shingo for the vacant title.

Lost The Title To: Kazuchika Okada on January 4th 2022 at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 16 Night 1 in Tokyo Dome.

[Days Held: 211 Days - Successful Title Defences: 3].

NEVER Openweight Championship [Reign #2]: Won back from Minoru Suzuki, 69 days after losing the belt to him, on November 7th 2020 at NJPW's Power Struggle 2020 - Lost The Title To: Hiroshi Tanahashi on January 30th 2021 at NJPW's The New Beginning in Nagoya 2021.

[Days Held: 84 Days - Successful Title Defences: 1].

NEVER Openweight Championship [Reign #1]: Won from Hirooki Goto on February 1st 2020 at NJPW's The New Beginning in Sapporo 2020. With this title win, Shingo became the first wrestler to hold both NEVER Openweight titles at the same time.

He also held the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships during this reign.

Lost The Title To: Minoru Suzuki on August 29th 2020 at NJPW's Summer Struggle in Jingu.

[Days Held: 210 Days - Successful Title Defences: 3].

NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships [Reign #1]: Won with EVIL and Bushi as part of the stable "Los Ingobernables de Japon" from Ryusuke Taguchi, Togi Makabe, and Toru Yano on January 5th 2020 at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 14 Night 2 in Tokyo Dome in a Gauntlet Match that also involved "Chaos's" Tomohiro Ishii, Yoshi-Hashi, and Robbie Eagles, and "Bullet Club's" Bad Luck Fale, Yujiro Takahashi, and Chase Owens.

He also held the NEVER Openweight Championship during this reign, becoming the first wrestler in New Japan to hold both NEVER titles at the same time as well.

Held The Titles Until: The titles were vacated on August 1st 2020, due to EVIL having left "Los Ingobernables de Japon" on July 11th 2020 after winning the 2020 New Japan Cup Tournament to join "Bullet Club".

[Days Held: 209 Days - Successful Title Defences: 2].

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships [Reign #1]: Won with Bushi as part of the stable "Los Ingobernables de Japon" from "Suzuki-gun's" El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru on January 4th 2019 at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 13 in Tokyo Dome in a three-way tag team match that also involved "Roppongi 3K's" Sho and Yoh.

Lost The Titles To: "Roppongi 3K's" Sho and Yoh on March 6th 2019 at NJPW's 47th Anniversary Show.

[Days Held: 61 Days - Successful Title Defences: 1].
