Asuka - WWE

Reminder: This is in reverse chronological order.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championships [Reign #4]:  Surprisingly with Kairi Sane, as both "The Kabuki Warriors", and as part of the stable "Damage CTRL", from Katana Chance/Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter on January 26th 2024 on the episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown that took place the night before the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, with Kairi pinning Carter off of Kairi and Asuka hitting Carter with an "Insane Elbow/Scorpion Death Drop" tag combination.

They are the current champions.

[Days Held: 43+ Days/Current Champions - Successful Title Defences: 3+ (0+ Defences at Live Events)].

WWE Women's Championship/WWE Raw Women's Championship [Reign #3]: She shockingly won the Raw Women's Championship title from Bianca Belair on May 27th 2023 at WWE's Night of Champions 2023 in what was essentially a rematch from Belair's and Asuka's Wrestlemania 39 Night 2 Raw Women's title match from back in May.

Asuka won the title surprisingly out of nowhere in what was, honestly, a rather dull match not too long after putting her blue mist in her right hand and rubbing the mist in Belair's eyes when Belair attempted to hit her finisher on Asuka (probably one of the only highlights I can recall from the match, beyond Asuka's win)!

Side-Note: Even though Asuka had won the Raw Women's Championship at Night of Champions, both Asuka and Bianca Belair were Smackdown wrestlers at the time, and had been drafted to SmackDown during both nights of the 2023 WWE Draft (Belair on Night 1 on the April 28th 2023 episode of SmackDown, and Asuka on Night 2 on the May 1st 2023 episode of Raw).

Important Side-Note: On the June 9th 2023 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Asuka was presented with a new, golden version of the title, due to Roman Reigns gaining a new golden title the previous week on SmackDown, and the title was also renamed the WWE Women's Championship as well as a result, causing the Raw Women's Championship design and name to be retired in the process.

Lost The Title Back To: Bianca Belair on August 5th 2023 at WWE Summerslam 2023 in a Triple Threat Match that also involved Charlotte Flair.

[Days Held: 70 Days - Successful Title Defences: 11 (9 Defences At Live Events)].

WWE Women's Tag Team Championships [Reign #3]: Won with Alexa Bliss from "Damage CTRL's" Iyo Sky/Io Shirai and Dakota Kai on October 31st 2022 (aka Halloween!) on the Halloween edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, with Bliss picking up the win for her team after Asuka helped take down Iyo Sky, before Bliss hit the latter Joshi Wrestler with the "Twisted Bliss" for the win.

Lost The Titles Back To: "Damage CTRL's" Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky/Io Shirai on November 5th 2022 at WWE Crown Jewel 2022*, with Dakota Kai picking up the pinfall win after Nikki Cross interfered in the match by attack her former WWE Women's Tag Team Championship tag partner Alexa Bliss before Bliss could do attempt to do her "Twisted Bliss" finisher again.

[Days Held: 5 Days - Successful Title Defences: 0].

*Note: I didn't watch Crown Jewel 2022 personally, and honestly I don't really plan on doing so, but I've seen the pictures and I'm listening to reviews as I was writing. Sorry.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championships [Reign #2]: Won from Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax on December 20th 2020 at WWE's TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2020. Charlotte was revealed as a last minute mystery replacement partner on the night of the match, due to Asuka's original partner Lana was removed from the match due to an injury (though whether or not it was a legit injury or not I've not idea personally).

Asuka also held the WWE Raw Women's Championship during this reign, and with this win Asuka also became the 2nd wrestler to hold both the Raw Women's and Women's Tag Team Championships at the same time.

Lost The Titles Back To: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on January 31st 2021 at WWE's Royal Rumble 2021 during the Pre-Show match.

[Days Held: 42 Days - Successful Title Defences: 1].

WWE Raw Women's Championship [Reign #2]: Won back from "The Boss" Sasha Banks, 34 and/or 26 days after losing the title to her, on August 23rd 2020 at WWE Summerslam 2020 in what was Asuka's second championship match of the night, due to Asuka having become the #1 contender for both Bayley's Smackdown Women's Championship and Sasha's Raw Women's Championship.

Bayley defeated Asuka to retain the Smackdown Women's Championship, however Asuka defeated Sasha due to supposed accidental interference from Bayley - Asuka also held the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships during this reign.

Lost The Title To: "The Nightmare" Rhea Ripley on April 11th 2021 at WWE Wrestlemania 37 Night 2.

[Days Held: 231 Days - Successful Title Defences: 7].

WWE Raw Women's Championship [Reign #1]: The manner of which this title win came around is a little confusing, but I'll try to make as much sense out of it as I can. On April 15th 2020, when WWE taped Money In The Bank (the pay-per-view would air on May 10th 2020): Asuka would defeat Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler in the Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match to win the Money In The Bank Briefcase, which originally was supposed to contain a contract giving Asuka a guaranteed women's championship match for up to a year.

However on May 11th 2020 (when the Raw after Money In The Bank aired and was taped), then Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch came out to the ring with the briefcase instead of the Raw Women's Championship and revealed to both Asuka and everyone watching that instead of winning the usual contract within the briefcase, Asuka had won the Raw Women's Championship instead due to Becky being pregnant and having forfeited the title so it was to be won with the briefcase instead of the contract, meaning that Asuka had won the championship.

WWE recognises the title change taking place on May 10th 2020 at Money In The Bank when Asuka won the Money In The Bank Briefcase.

Side-Note: With this win, Asuka became only the 2nd official Women's Grand Slam Champion in WWE's history, due to having won the NXT Women's Championship, WWE Smackdown Women's Championship, WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, and WWE Raw Women's Championship.

Lost The Title To: "The Boss" Sasha Banks on July 20th 2020 at an episode of WWE Monday Night Raw in a match where Sasha could win the title by disqualification or count out alongside either pins or submission, and if Bayley had been ringside or had gotten involved then Sasha would have immediately lost in the match.

Sasha defeated Asuka by count out due to Asuka leaving the arena upon a feed of Bayley attacking Kairi Sane backstage appeared on the titantron, meaning that Sasha won the title as Bayley had technically not interfered with the match.

WWE officially recongises the title change taking place on July 27th 2020, due to tape delays.

[Days Held: Between 78 and 96 Days - Successful Title Defences: 4].

WWE Women's Tag Team Championships [Reign #1]: Won with "The Pirate Princess" Kairi Sane as part of the team "The Kabuki Warriors" from "The Goddess of WWE" Alexa Bliss and "The Twisted Sister" Nikki Cross on October 6th 2019 at the ill-fated WWE Hell In A Cell 2019, with Asuka picking up the pinfall win over Cross after "The Kabuki Warriors" turned heel when Asuka sprayed Nikki with a green mist to the face.

Lost The Titles Back To: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross on either March 25th or March 26th of 2020 at Wrestlemania 36 Night 1 in the opening match, though officially WWE recognises the titles changing hands on April 4th 2020 due to Night 1 of Wrestlemania 36 being aired then. The match itself took place on either March 25th or March 26th due to the match being taped then.

[Days Held: Between 171 and 172 Days (180 Days recognised by WWE) - Successful Title Defences: 4].

WWE Smackdown Women's Championship [Reign #1]: Won from "The Man" Becky Lynch on December 16th 2018 at WWE's TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2018 in the first ever women's triple threat Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match that also involved Charlotte Flair, and was also the first time the Smackdown Women's Championship main evented a pay-per-view.

Lost The Title To: Charlotte Flair on March 26th 2019 at an episode of WWE Tuesday Night Smackdown Live, with Asuka taping out to the "Figure-8 Leglock".

[Days Held: 100 Days - Successful Title Defences: 3].

NXT Women's Championship [Reign #1]: Won from "The Huggable One" Bayley on April 1st 2016 at NXT TakeOver: Dallas - Held Until: August 24th 2017 when she relinquished the NXT Women's Championship on NXT after suffering a collarbone injury at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. The episode in which the title was vacated, however, was aired on September 6th 2017.

Fun Side-Note: It was during this reign were the design of the NXT Women's Championship was updated to the current design (as of 13/09/2021 when I wrote this part).

[Days Held: Between 510 or 522 Days - Successful Title Defences: 11].

[As of 08/03/2024].
