Mara entered the hangar flanked by two of her best soldiers. Uldren walked up to her before she could go onto the ship. "Mara, what are you doing here?"

"I am going to lead my armada Uldren." She said coldly as he stood in her path. "Get out of my way." She said through her clenched teeth.

"I cannot allow you to g-"

"I am the ruler here, and as your Queen, I demand that you get out of my way."

"As your brother, I beg you to reconsider,"

Mara glared into his eyes with stern fury; her heart started pulsing quicker and harder as she stared at him. It was not wise to defy her, even if he was a member of her family. "I am going Uldren." She said clenching her fist. She stormed off toward the shuttle to their flagship. Uldren watched and sighed to himself as her guards followed. He walked over toward his own starfighter, a Reef CG-10 starcraft, or Crows as they were often called.

He always was worried about Mara, and what would happen if she lead the Armada again. He clambered up into the large cockpit of the vehicle and started flying the ship out. Mara sat at the forefront of the drop ship heading off toward their newest flagship; The Vestian Indignation. The largest battlecruiser the Awoken had in their entire fleet. Nearly a thousand kilometers across with two large prongs on the port and starboard sides, and with one large viewport on the center behind the ramming targes. The Queen received it as a token of good will from Sidriks Velkor five years ago. He sought to make amends with Mara, from one benevolent ruler to another.

When James-17 had returned to the Reef at the end of the Wolf Crisis, she expected him to be the one who killed the Traitor Kell, Skolas. However, he said that he didn't kill Skolas, Sidriks Velkor had. While disappointed that he had not been the person to kill Skolas, she was still glad that his life had ended. The shuttle boarded the larger spacecraft, and Mara stepped out, with her Coven already following behind her. With a confident stride and an undeterred look on her face, she stormed to the bridge.  All the while the crewmen saluted her as she passed by on her way to the lift.

The elevator arrived at the bridge, and Mara took a seat in her chair on the ship and began observing the crew members as they began flipping switches and dials. All of them spouting orders trying to coordinate the fleet. The bridge was multi layered with the sigil of the Reef on the floor of the top platform underneath Mara's chair. There were two officers at each station on the bridge, and there were about ten stations on the ship. The viewport was at least twenty-five meters in diameter with rigid metal bars to form a solid shape on the glass.

"Your Grace, we are ready for launch." One of the comms officers told her.

"Ready all weapons, divert primary power to forward shields," Mara ordered as she faced the main viewport of the ship, she then pressed the button on one of the arms on her chair. "Attention all crewmen and Starcraft. This is Mara Sov, your Queen." She said over the comms. Everyone on the ship stopped what they were doing to listen to what she had to say. "We are going out toward Saturn to engage a fleet of Hive vessels....much like when the Wolves engaged us a century ago. This is a suicide mission. If you choose to turn back now...I understand....but know that your sacrifice this day will not be in vain....in the face of death, I will stand by you, my sisters, and I will await you in the afterlife. Either we're going down.... or they are. Sov out."

The crewmen readied themselves and powered up the main thrusters of the Vestian and took off for Saturn. Followed by several of their Harbinger class cruisers, and the Crow starfighters, this was the largest fleet the Awoken had ever assembled since the Reef Wars. Mara quickly engaged her helmet's link with the ship and the Armada, allowing her to communicate directly with the captains of the other vessels.

"All craft report in." She called to them.

"Shallow Quark, standing by,"

"Dauntless Intent, standing by,"

"Eternal Solace, standing by,"

"Nevermore, standing by,"

"Ceaseless Vigor, standing by,"

Mara looked forward and engaged her tactical visor giving her a tactical overview of the battle. "All ships, engage jump," She ordered as the space in front of the Vestian stretched and pulled around their ship as the jump drive engaged. Mara could feel an overwhelming sense of dread as her ship continued to travel, she feared what lay on the horizon. Her hands started feeling clammy and shaky. The ship finally pulled out of the jump along with the other vessels flanking it. The fleet pulled up under Saturn's rings gazing upon the Hive armada stationed there.

"All Crows engage the enemy fleet," Mara ordered them. It looked like a swarm of bees coming out of the Harbingers and the ones outside of the ship took off for the Armada. On board the Dreadnought a hive Acolyte stormed toward the observation deck Oryx was standing on.

"My Lord! We have an enemy fleet incoming!" He shouted. The colossal Hive turned around to face him.

"Alert the frigates," He ordered him staring off the balcony. He squinted of under the rings and saw that there was a fleet storming toward his own. He sneered and gripped the hilt of his sword. The explosions erupted in the silence of space as Crow's and Tombships engaged each other, purple and blue plasma cannons firing across the stretch of space between the two capital ships. Heavy orange lasers were fired out of the Hive frigates attempting to destroy any of the several hundred crows whizzing around the battleground.

Uldren took his Crow and began flying close to one of the Frigates, firing numerous explosive plasma rounds at the surface of the ship, causing explosions to rupture across the ship as Uldren continued flying his vessel. Mara kept the comms of all her soldiers open, listening carefully as the comms went to eventual static with each passing explosion.

"Engage primary weapon systems, disable the frigates!" She shouted to both her ship and the others. The vessels powered up their primary heavy arc cannons as the Crows moved on toward the capital ship. Uldren looked to his dashboard and pressed a switch on the central controller of his ship. Sending a bolt of heavy arc infused plasma at the flagship along with the other's that flanked his vessel.

"Rockets away!" He shouted. The bolt exploded on contact with the surface of the Dreadnought. Uldren turned back to look at the surface...it was barely scratched. "Negative, I repeat, impact negative." He said over the comms. Mara placed her hand on her visor and stood up from her chair and walked to the center of the chamber.

"It's time." She said to her Coven. The three walked up next to her and behind her and placed her hands together. Mara set her hands to the side and shut her eyes, as the Coven stretched their hands apart creating a rift of energy, creating a similar shape in front of the fleet. Orbs of pure energy formed from the rift and they traveled forward from their original location at bewildering speeds. Mara collapsed to the floor from the strain of creating these spheres. Aboard the Dreadnought, Oryx watched the orbs come forth with very little concern or regard.

The spheres crashed through the frigates causing explosions and splitting the vessels into pieces as they finally arrived at the flagship; with a heavy focus on the rear end of the ship, close to its thrusters. The spheres combusted, however causing minimal damage to the rest of the ship, opposed to the two that hit the engines. Mara looked on in disbelief and abject horror, their most powerful weapon, had no effect on the ship.

Oryx grew tired of the insubordination from the enemy fleet and walked toward his massive ritual circle in the back of the observation deck. The fleets continued to battle outside; Oryx had enough. He took his sword by the hilt and raised it above his head then quickly slamming the blade into the circle creating an overflow of dark energy; sending it through the ship to the conduit of the superweapon beneath the platform. The channels of the ship began to glow and a complete circle formed around the central entryway. A massive sphere of energy emitted around the vessel, as it was sent out it grew larger and with each ship that it engulfed, it detonated.

The ships erupted into panic, chaos, and pleas for their god to save them. For Mara, all things went silent, and her eyes started to close. One of the Coven placed an item on her back, creating a forcefield and oxygen field around her. Then, the Vestian was engulfed in the energy field; Mara watched as all her soldiers died right in front of her eyes, disintegrating into a blue energy then turning into dust. The ship emitted a distress signal as the vessel shattered into large chunks.

All that remained of the Awoken fleet was the Crows that were able to get away. With the destruction of the fleet, Oryx turned away and walked toward the other side of his chamber. Annoyed with the other fleet that destroyed all of his frigates. The Dreadnought couldn't move.

Now, it was time for phase two.
