Cameron and Aaron touched down on the lunar surface a few minutes after they took off. Their boots felt the Lunar surface, and the two started to walk. Cameron knew that they had a mission to do here, but didn't want to take a sparrow. The roar of its engine made it too hard to think. She looked over at her Exo friend; he looked rather troubled, both of them needed this time.

"Hey, Aaron?" Cameron asked as she pulled her auto rifle off her back.

"Yeah?" He replied quietly.

"Have things been going well between you and Eris?" Cameron asked.

"Yeah...they've never been better." He replied.

"Aaron, I know that tone...what's going on?" Cameron asked him as they continued walking. The Exo sighed and looked over at his friend before looking back at the Earth.

"Do you....know that Eris wanted to have a family, Cameron?" Aaron asked her.

"No. I never asked. Why?" She replied out of curiosity. The hunter paused for a moment at what he was about to say in response.

"She wants to have a kid with me, Cameron...." He sighed sadly. "I know it would make her the happiest girl in the world, but, I...I'm not ready for that yet." He replied being as crystal clear as he could. "Not regarding commitment, I'm happy, and I love her, but that isn't the problem. I'm not like James." He said before turning his back to her looking at the Earth. "I'm immature; I'm rash, I'm impatient, I'm selfish." He said as his tone increased from a typical talk to a shout. Cameron could hear a sniffle building up in his voice as he spoke. "I'm scared of the weakest enemy the Hive can throw at us! How the heck can I raise a kid like that!" He cried into the empty planes of the lunar surface.

The Titan walked over to Aaron and set her rifle on her back before she was about four inches between the two. Cameron placed her left hand on his shoulder.

"Aaron." She said to him calmly. "It's okay; everyone's scared of something."

"That's not the same...I'm not good enough for her Cameron." He said laying his head low. "How can I do that for her if I'm still afraid of things as mundane and insignificant as Thralls."

"No. Stop right there." She said before turning him around to look her in the eyes. "Listen to me. You're scared of Thralls, that's normal. But don't you dare say for one second you aren't good enough for Eris. Nobody is as perfect a fit for her as you."

Aaron shook her hand off his shoulder and started walking toward the Hellmouth. "Everyone's scared of something. Yeah right, easy for you to say, you can destroy a Vexillum with just a thought." Aaron thought to himself as he walked toward the entry to the cave system. He looked over his shoulder at the Titan as he walked forward. If it was one thing that he hated as much as Thralls, it was people who were clearly not in the same situation as you were trying to act like they knew what you were going through. Cameron, while she was nice in trying, only served to show him how great your relationship can be if you put in effort and time.

James, as far as he knew, wasn't scared of anything. Neither was Cameron. He was the only person in their initial fireteam to not unlock the invictus form. Another fact that only added to his insecurities in his life. He felt worthless to them. They acted like they valued him, but he didn't feel that way. He couldn't shoot lasers out of his hands; he couldn't fly, he couldn't do nearly half the stuff that they could do. All he could do was make an arc knife and a solar handgun.

Cameron started walking up closer to him, and he looked over at her for a moment. "Aaron, something else is bothering you, what is it?" She probed. The Exo looked at her coldly through the eyes of his helmet; he couldn't tell her now, not when they're about to get into the start of their mission.

"Nothing." He replied sternly.

"Aaron...I'm your friend, you don't have a reason to-"

"I'm your friend? Or are you just saying that to make me feel less alone?" He asked turning around to look at her.

"Aaron, where's all this coming from? Why are you being such a jerk?!" She shouted.

"You really don't know?! I'm the Hawkeye! I'm the one facette of this team that doesn't make any sense!" He shouted. "I'm USELESS!"

"You are not useless, Aaron," Cameron replied sternly.

"YES I AM!" He replied taking his helmet off and throwing it into the lunar dust. "No matter what way you word it, I'm the one member of this team who nobody talks about. I was integral to two missions, and that's it. Nobody cares about me, Cameron. I'm disposable." He said sitting down on the surface of the moon looking into the Hellmouth. He looked down at the ground reflecting on what he just said.

"Aaron..."

"Even you kid is stronger than I am..." He muttered. "I'm worthless..."

"Aaron," Cameron said to him in a normal tone.

"What?" He replied turning his head around. He turned to get sucker punched by Cameron right across the jaw. "OW!" He said rubbing his hand against his cheek. "What was that for?!"

"That was for thinking you're worthless." She said before pulling him into a hug. "And that's for everything else." She said to him. Aaron slowly wrapped his hands around his friend.

"You really value me that much?" He asked.

"Aaron. You're the best hunter I know; everyone else is a cocky hotshot who usually gets themselves killed. I don't have to worry about that with you." She replied letting go of him. He glanced at her for a moment and a slight smile crept across his face. He still felt the same way, but at least he was a little better. That someone cared about his contributions to this team.

"You know David still looks up to you?" Cameron asked as she let go of him.

"Really? Why's that?" He asked.

"He remembers when you gave him that Star Wars book you like so much, he read the whole thing cover to cover at least ten times." She told him. "He credits you for being so good with a sword."

Aaron smirked and stood up from the ground and pulled out the Peacemaker. His helmet transmatted back up onto his head, and he looked back at Cameron. "Come on; the world's not gonna save itself." He said before running off toward the Hive fortress. Cameron nodded and ran off after him pulling her autorifle off her back and ran off with him. The pair sprinted toward the entry to the fort, taking notice of how empty it was out front.

"Eris, we're in position," Cameron said over the comms.

"Alright. Good, now you need to descend into the Hellmouth, the chamber containing the crystal that Toland created should be destroyed in the depths called the Chamber of Night." Eris replied.

"Do you have a marker down there placed?" Aaron asked her.

"Marker's been placed and sent to your huds, be careful." She replied cutting the communications channel.

The Hunter and the Titan ran down toward the marker that was placed, leaving a white diamond marker under the entry to the area. Cameron moved slightly slower than her hunter friend, however, keeping her eyes focused on the motion tracker on her helmet. Paying close attention to the red marks that were on it.

"Alright, we're getting close to the Circle of Bones, Aaron, I hope you're ready," Omni said to him as they progressed through the fortress killing hive as they went. Aaron was using his hand cannon with one hand as he sprinted through.

"I'm not going to get any less scared if I don't keep fighting them. I'll fight them until I'm over it." He thought.  Omni didn't respond after this; she knew that the way that he was trying to do this wouldn't end well. At least not in the way that he was hoping it would. The group ran through the catacomb-like environments of the world that existed beneath the moon. Soon they arrived at a chamber that was familiar to the two of them, still with the hole at the center of the room still there. Aaron stopped for a moment when they got there and looked down into the hole.

"You know, I'd have thought after all this time, they would have fixed this." He noted as the Titan came next to him.

"Yeah, remember when we first fought together?" Cameron asked him.

"Of course I do." He chuckled. "It was so simple then...no Oryx, no Siva, just us against the world." He sighed thinking back about the first mission they had together.

"Hey," She said putting a hand on his shoulder again. "Let's get going, no time to get nostalgic." She said playfully.

"Right." He nodded before heading toward a door on the left that the marker had placed. The area around them started to get dark as they approached the white marker. Omni moved up to Aaron's shoulder and produced a light for him to see. He moved over to the left as Cameron and Athena moved from behind him. They wandered through the dark for a brief moment longer then they arrived at a chamber full of Thralls feeding on something. They were distracted. Blissfully ignorant to what was going on around them. Aaron walked up behind one of them with his handcannon placed against the back of its skull, and mercilessly pulled the trigger.

The beast disintegrated into a black dust as Aaron alerted the rest of them. Cameron started laying into the thralls with her Exo friend as they moved forward. She took notice of how Aaron was moving; it was more sporadic, aggressive, hateful. He was using way more ammo on the Thralls than he needed to, she could feel him gritting his teeth underneath that helmet.

A Thrall was about to grab Aaron and bite him on the shoulder, the Exo noticed quickly and picked it up by the head. Feeling it squirm and writhe under his touch, then using all the strength he could muster, he crashed the thrall into the side of a nearby barrier. Crushing it's brittle skull under his hand as it flattened to a pancake. With the room finally cleared the pair moved into the final leg of their journey. The room in front of them was full of lunar dust and a massive skeleton that wrapped around the chamber. It was like a huge snake.

"Great, just another massive creature the Hive have under their belts." Aaron thought to himself. The group continued walking until they approached the center of the room. The remnants of the crystal were all over the ground. The pair heard a roar and looked up toward the ceiling. A massive eight-legged, chitinous beast descended from above. With the Hive sigil upon its abdomen, it let out another roar as it touched the ground.

"Well, looks like we're about to get some payback ey buddy?" Cameron gestured to her friend.

Aaron took another mag and put it in his hand cannon. "This has been a long time coming." He replied cracking his neck. The beast roared and attempted to fire a shot of Venom at the two guardians. Cameron dodged to the right and Aaron to the left.

"You got any ideas?" He asked Cameron.

"Just one." She said pulling out a Hammer of Sol and sprinting forward. "Use your Arc Blade and cut into its legs!" She shouted. Aaron nodded and pulled out his small arc knife. The two guardians rushed the Chronovore from both sides and started slamming into its arms and legs. Breaking them like toothpicks. But before they could move any further along with their plan, a blight appeared above the Chronovore and sucked it up into the sphere.

"Uh....Eri? I think Oryx just took a Chronovore." Aaron noted as it disappeared.

"Oryx can't control a Chronovore unless it is Taken, they are like Ogres in a way. Now quickly we need a shard of that Crystal." She ordered. Aaron walked toward the large crystal and held out Omni. The Ghost moved over and picked out a square chunk of the crystal.

"Okay, now that we've got that mission accomplished," Aaron noted as the two guardians started walking away.

"Yes...excellent zzzz wor-zzzzz."

"Eris? Eris?!" Aaron shouted over the comms. A moment passed, with nothing but static on the other end of the line.

"Uh, Aaron, somethings blocking our comms....and transmat," Cameron told him nervously. The two heard a rapturous noise as a projection of Oryx's face appeared in front of them.

"YOU WRETCHED PLAGUE! YOUR LIGHT DIES HERE!" He shouted as the blight returned and the Chronovore with them. It's sigil on its abdomen replaced by the sigil of Oryx, and it's' eyes were a bright white with black and white limbs that glowed. Cameron activated her Invictus and grabbed him by the cloak and took off, flying with him in tow. Flying past any and all taken that would be in their way. She'd already lost Saint, and she thought she lost Vel, she was not going to lose another good friend. The Taken Chronovore could wait for another time. She turned around once she approached the surface, she noticed that Aaron was no longer with her.

"AARON!" She shouted as she tried to head back down into the Hellmouth. Beneath the surface, the Hunter purposely took off the scarf that he had around his neck that Cameron was holding onto. The Hunter remained down under the surface, to face his fears, once and for all. His grip around his hand cannon tightened, and he could feel his hatred start to burn and boil. More Taken arrived and especially Taken Thralls. More and more of them poured in and surrounded him. He'd kept using his weapons as more of them arrived, putting bullets into the Thrall as they kept moving forward. He started running out of ammo, and without time to reload and him being surrounded and swarmed, they kept moving in and around him. Clawing and knawing at his armor and his body glove.

Aaron felt something burning inside of him. Hatred. Anger. Fear. All of it hit a melting point, and the ground beneath him started to glow a bright white. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH!" The Exo shouted as he threw the Thrall off of him and a laser of solar Energy erupted from around his body, and he started punching and slamming into the Thralls and the Taken around him. Shaking the surface of the Cavern around him to the point where it looked like the cavern would have caved in. Aaron looked up to the Chronovore as more taken came in and he sprinted forward unleashing his arc blade and stabbing it through the skull of the Chronovore over and over again. Splattering its blood all over his body.

Cameron came into the room a few minutes later, to see the Exo enveloped by a golden orange aura and his eyes a bright orange. "Aaron....you did it." She told him. Aaron turned around and gave her a thumbs up before he fell to the ground in sheer exhaustion. Cameron picked up his body and took off toward the surface, through the hole that his Invictus transformation created.
