Soon after he had called the Vasquez-Storme family arrived at the Medical Ward where Emily was being kept. Monty had David move her to an Anti-Gravity chamber, where she couldn't hurt anyone or escape.

"Em....what did they do to you?" Nova said as she walked up to the glass wall where she was sealed up. She gently placed her hand on the glass as Emily floated around aimlessly in the prison Monty had built.

"I've been running tests all morning. Things...are different. And not in a good way. As my little friend was so eager to point out." Monty said looking over to David. The doctor then picked up a datapad and showing it to Kathrine and Nova. "This was what her DNA looked like when she was born, then...here it is now." He said showing them the current configuration of her genetic code. "As you can tell, it's unrecognizable, all of her coding has been changed, even if I could reverse the processes, she..wouldn't survive for much longer afterward. Her last moments would be of her screaming in agony." Monty replied disheartened.

"No...you're saying you can't do anything?" Nova sobbed.

Monty looked over to Eris for her input. She shook her head saddened by this, Emily was a good person. She was close to Eris' heart, and she was willing to listen to whatever thoughts were on her mind. There had to be a way. There just had to be. Eris thought for a moment longer, considering her vast array of knowledge. But everything came up empty. James himself looked the most upset. He walked slowly over to the chamber and looked inside, he wanted to slam his fist against the glass in frustration. However, as the gears of his mind started to tumble his eyes widened and his power core increased its pulse.

They may not have a way. But there was one man in the universe who could. "Eris. We need to find Toland." James said turning around to face the brunette. Everyone looked at him confused for a moment.

"Why?" Eris questioned.

"He could be the key to saving Emily's life," James replied seriously. "If he's as adept at Hive magic as you've told me Eris, then he may have the knowledge we need. Also, we need to limit the number of people traveling in solo fireteams to these areas. If it could happen to Emily then it could happen to anyone." James told them turning around to looking intently at Nova for a moment.

Nova looked up to him with sorrowful eyes but James didn't look back. He didn't want to forgive her for what she did, what she made him feel. He felt betrayed and unloved by his stepdaughter. "Dad I-"

"We need to move out, Monty, keep her contained for now see if there's any kind of energy signature that you can follow so that we can track the Taken across the system," James ordered him.

"Good thinking, I'll keep an eye on her," Monty replied walking back over to the chamber and the analysis pads.

"In the meantime, we need to plan how we intend to get to the Dreadnought and disable that gun. And I think it should be me who goes." James noted to the group before turning around to face them. "Yor and I have a score to settle anyway." He said clenching his right hand. "However the question is how do I get there?" He asked looking at Eris.

"It's simple, fly toward it." She replied. "Your invictus if you turn down the aura on it you may be able to get on the Dreadnought with little problems."

"Good thinking, I'll be back soon," James said walking over toward the door. Nova tried to stop him for a moment but he shut the door behind him as she walked over to him. She sighed heavily before turning over to Cameron and David.

"He's not going to forgive me is he?" Nova asked them. Cameron walked up to her calmly and placed her hands on her shoulders.

"Nova, you're his step child, he'll forgive you eventually. It's not like him to hold a grudge, but you broke his heart. He loved you with all his heart and he felt as if that none of that mattered to you." Cameron told her honestly.

"You stabbing him through the chest was the nail in the coffin sis," David told her.

"David!" Cameron scolded.

"Sorry," He replied sheepishly before looking back at Emily for a moment. She was still floating aimlessly around in the antigrav chamber, and her white eyes met his for a brief moment before parting ways. Cameron watched her son with scornful eyes as he left before looking back over to Nova and Kathrine.

"Sorry about him, Emily was like his best friend, he loved her like a sister," Cameron said to her and Kathrine.

"But you think he'll forgive me?"

"As I said, he'll come to his senses soon, just give him time to vent out his feelings."

James wandered over toward the hangar bay to see Cayde and Amanda working on Eris' ship. "James! Just the guardian I wanted to see." Cayde said walking over to the Warlock.

"Hey Cayde, what's up?" James asked putting his hands in his pockets.

"Oh nothing much, just trying to hatch a plan to save the world, the usual." He replied.

"And you're going to hijack Eris' ship? You know I could just fly there right?"

"Uh yeah, but here's the thing, you're not going to be able to get there without getting notice are you?" Cayde asked him.

"Pfff, of course I can."

"No you can't, listen you need to take the ship. If you don't it'll be basically a small light bulb flying up to a giant fish that eats everything in its path. You need the ship." He told him.

"Why don't I just take my own?"

"It'll take them longer to find you in this one. It's got hive ship written all over it." Cayde replied looking back over to Eris' vessel.

"Okay, but what if it gets destroyed?" James asked. "I mean, you saw what that super weapon did to a flagship didn't you?"

"Yeah, I did, and here's the deal with that. If you can, I need you to find Mara Sov, the Awoken need their closure and their Queen back. If the ship gets broken then I'll take the fall for it alright? Just trust me on this understand?" Cayde demanded him.

James placed his hand on his chin for a moment, weighing his options. He could live with Eris being upset with Cayde for a little bit. Besides, Mara was in danger, and the more time he spent waiting here the less oxygen that Mara would have. James removed the hand from his chin and looked Cayde directly in the eyes. "Alright Cayde, let's go rescue us a princess." He said to him.

"Queen, but I just hope she isn't in another castle by the time you get there." He chuckled. James laughed with him as he walked past and patted him on the back.

"Amanda, is she space worthy?" James asked her.

"As ready as I am to kick some Hive ass guardian!" She shouted as she stepped off the ship and landed on the ground. "Fire 'er up!" She said as James transmatted up into the ship. This was the first time that he was flying a ship without Captain with him in a long time. He took the controls in his hand and fired up the engines. The buckles on the ship slammed into place over his chest and he started flipping switches above the console. The cockpit for this ship was much smaller than his own. In fact, it may have very well been only the cabin and some cargo space underneath the ship.

James activated the radio before taking the ship off into the sky. "Cayde you there?" James asked over the system.

"Rodger that, this is Eagles Nest to Nighthawk-2,"

"Cayde, really?" James asked sarcastically.

"Hey, it's not every day that I get to run a spec ops mission alright? Let me have my fun."

James chuckled in response as he took the ship out o f the hangar and toward the atmosphere. At that point, Ghost came out to speak with him. "Hey," He told him softly.

"Oh, hi Ghost," James said to him as the ship broke the veil of clouds that lingered above the city.

"I kinda wanted to talk to you about Nova, are you feeling alright?" He asked politely. James looked over to his gray companion for a moment before glancing back over to the center of the windshield. He looked down into the controls in reflection, his head hung low for a moment as the ship's internal lights turned on, they were a hive green and the interior was made out of the same chitinous material as the Hive's ships. James didn't like those colors, they brought up a lot of bad memories.

"I'm still not over it Ghost,"

"I understand that, but I know you better than nearly everyone else in the Tower, the only person who would know you better would be Cameron. I know you would go berserk if someone took David. You did when Nova was hurt by the House of Wolves nearly two decades ago. You need to understand where she's coming from."

"You don't think I do Ghost?!" He shouted. James then took a deep breath then sighed. "It's just...It was always a thought in the back of my mind that if Charon and Kronah came back that she wouldn't accept me as her father anymore." He told him struggling to hold his tears back. "I loved her with all my heart, yet when it came down to it she stabbed me through my chest. With a sword, I made for her, and you know how long it took me to make that."

"I do. I'm sorry James. I really had no idea you felt that way."

"Not a lot of people do Ghost, it's not your fault. Anyway, we've got a job to do. Let's go." He said pressing the coordinates to just outside of Saturn's orbit. The jump drive engines slowly hummed to full power then rocketed James off to his next mission.
