Nova threw the door to her apartment open to see Katie in the process of cooking dinner.

"Hey, beautiful....woah...what happened?" Katie asked looking at her concernedly. Her face was a bright red, and her eyes were watery.

"K-Katie....Em-em..." She asked as she struggled to put the words out of her mouth without falling to pieces.

"What about Emily?" Katie asked taking the food off the stove so that it wouldn't burn.

Nova collapsed to the floor. Her eyes spouting tears like a firehose on full power. "OUR BABY GIRL IS GONE KATIE! EMILY'S MISSING!" Nova cried. Her limbs failed her, and she collapsed to the floor completely. Her stomach flush with the wood paneling. Katie walked over to her and picked her up. Her eyes were starting to well up with Nova's.

"Please...tell me it's not true...." Katie cried.

Nova only sobbed harder and placed her face on Kathrine's chest. "IT IS TRUE! SHE'S GONE! KIDNAPPED BY SOMEONE NAMED ORYX!" She cried. Kathrine pulled her tight to her chest and moved Nova's head up to her shoulders, and she started sobbing with her.

"What are we going to do?!" Katie cried.

"We....no...you can't do anything...I just want you to be safe." Nova cried. "I want to go up there and kill every last one of them...but...I...did something awful Katie...."

"What did you do?" She asked.

"I....stabbed my stepdad...with the sword he made for me."

Katie backed away for a moment and looked at Nova seriously for a second. "Nova..I can't believe you..that man gave you so much, and he wanted to keep you safe. Yet you stabbed him! Where?"

"Through his chest..." She sobbed.

"Nova..how could you?"

"I JUST WANT MY BABY BACK!" She cried. "I'm sorry! I just wanted to get Emily back! That was all that mattered to me!"

Katie walked back over to Nova and held her tight. "Me too Nov. Me too. But I'm not the one you should be saying sorry to am I?"

"No...." She cooed, her tears and crying sounds muffled by Katie's shoulder.

"Okay. We'll talk to him tomorrow okay? It's late."

"Alright...I need some rest..."

Later that same day, it was about eleven o'clock at night, and the Tower was as empty as ever. David sat up in his bed and looked around his room for a moment. He quietly stepped out of his bed, and tip toed over to his closet and pulled his armor off its rack. The pieces grafted themselves to his body glove as he pulled them off. He slowly opened the door to his room and glided down the stairs, causing as little noise as he possibly could. He looked over to the right to see his parent's room slightly ajar. He meandered over to the door and peeked through it as he would have expected the two were fast asleep. Nothing short of a nuclear weapon would wake them up.

David moved over to the door and blinked through it. He made a promise to Caesar that they'd go out tonight. And with the coming of the Taken, he was just itching for a fight. He strolled to the hangar bay to see the mech online waiting for him.

"Good to see you David, is everything alright?" Caesar asked as David transmatted to the pilot's chair.

"No Caesar." He replied as he yawned getting the controls activated.

"Don't remind me. I saw what happened to your Father. I'm terribly sorry about your sister."

David grabbed the control sticks and started moving the mech toward the elevator. Caesar pressed the button, and the elevator took them down to ground level. "Where to?" Caesar asked.

"We're going to the Cosmodrome. I want to destroy some hive for what they did." David replied as the Valkyrie started to move. "How are we going to break it to Sam, Caesar? He loved her more than anything, and we let him down. She's gone." He said to the giant machine with a slight tear going down his face. "She was my sister....how could I let this happen? Ever since she was little Will and I promised we'd keep her safe...yet when we were our strongest we couldn't do anything to help her." He whimpered.

Caesar kept running using his thrusters on his back to move to the Cosmodrome much quicker than if he was going without them. "David, you did all you could. Dregen Yor is stronger now, what you did will allow us a better opportunity to beat him the next time we come across him." He replied honestly. "In addition, there's no substantial evidence to suggest that Emily is dead. She was taken to the Dreadnought, but we know nothing of anything besides that."

"So...she could still be alive?"

"I prefer to think of everything in terms of probabilities, it keeps me prepared for anything," Caesar replied as they advanced toward the snowy landscape of Old Russia. It had been several hours, but they arrived. It was still night in Hope, but daybreak had just occurred in Russia.

"So Caesar, do you remember anything about this place?" David asked as the colossus walked through one of the massive holes in the Cosmodrome wall from two years ago. Caesar started searching through his database about the particular installation of the space program.

"Russian Cosmodrome Site 13, one of the major sites for mass colonization launches. Previously a Cold War ballistic missile site, Site 13 became one of the more prosperous rocket yards in the program. Sending until collapse over four million two hundred seventy-five thousand five hundred and fifty-four people." He replied.

"Wow. So, this place was a bunker during the Cold War?"

"Part of it, but yes it was." He replied as the group entered the full expanse of the Cosmodrome. Caesar stopped for a moment before pulling his gatling gun off his back.

"Caesar, what's wrong?" David asked.

"I'm detecting a strange energy signature ahead. Not one that I've seen before." He replied as he slowly stepped forward into the greater expanse.

"What kind of energy?"

"I've just told you I don't know what it is," He replied sounding annoyed at his comment. The two continued walking for a while until David stopped him. The two came to a hill and saw beneath them was a breeding ground of Taken. Blighted orbs floated above the ground, and he saw a slew of Taken soldiers twitching across the ground. But what caught his eye was something that was standing above the rest of them. It was a female shape. Something that none of their enemies ever had. She had a strange bow in her hand and a quiver of arrows on her back. David's eyes widened, and he jumped out of Caesar.

"David! Wait!" The Mech shouted as David sprinted into his Invictus form and took off for the woman. He landed with a resounding crash causing the shape to turn around and look at him. When the dust cleared, David stood up.

"Em! Thank God you're....." He said as he took her appearance in. She was different and not in a good way. Her legs were bluish white, and her top was black. Her eyes of her helmet were glowing white. "Em.....what did they do to you?" The being only twitched and shook in front of him as she drew an arrow from her quiver and fired one at David. The motion was sudden, but David was able to dodge to the right avoiding the arrow. David created a solar energy box around Emily as she tried to fire another arrow.

"Okay....maybe Monty'll be able to figure something out." He said as he looked over to Caesar turning the taken to a cloud of black mist with his gatling gun. "Well, at least he appears to be enjoying himself." David thought as he started walking using his control over the light cube to keep Emily contained. Caesar's gatling gun was glowing red by the time that David walked over to him. He put the gun behind his back again as David walked over.

"David...what in the heck is that?" He asked as Emily started banging on the hard light chamber.

"It's Emily Caesar, we need to get her home," David said quickly.

"David. That is an enemy of the Tower, if you bring her there, they will not hesitate to kill her."

"You said it yourself there was a possibility that she could be alive, well here she is. We are taking her back. End. Of. Discussion." David replied to the mech. Caesar looked at the boy. He saw something that he'd never seen in James since they were first made partners. There was a fire in his eyes, no matter what he was going to bring her back to the Tower.

"What if they try to kill her?"

"I won't let them," David replied looking back up at the cube. The figure in the box wasn't a monster to him. She was his sister, and he would do anything to keep her safe.

"Alright, strap it to my back," Caesar ordered turning around. David created a tendril that attached to the mech's many attachment ports. Caesar tested the strength of the rope for a moment before looking down at David. "You all set?"

"Yeah, my bloodlust has been sated...for now," David replied trasmatting to the inside of Caesar.

"We need to take her to Monty as soon as possible." He replied cranking the thruster to max power in his back. David's emergency belt activated and strapped him in tightly. Caeser than broke out into a full-blown sprint he was determined to save this girl's life if he could. For so long he was used as an instrument of war. Now, he had the chance to save a life instead of ending one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Several hours later, David stepped out of the large mech in a daze. He was nauseous after they traveled that fast of a distance as they went. He turned around to look at the back of his companion. Sure enough, she hadn't moved. She was, however, leaning to the back of the box as much as she could.

"That's strange," David noted as he pulled the box towards him. He shifted the box slightly so that it was longer on the side that she was on and that the box wall that was in front of her was closer. Almost immediately she scrambled to the other side. David condensed the box to the size of a coffin as the elevator started going up. Emily bashed the hard light with both her hands as David held it above his head. The elevator reached the top, and he saw that his father and his mother were both waiting for him.

"David. Did you take Caes...wait..what is that?" He asked looking at the being bashing on the prison David had her in.

"Dad...I found Emily." David said dishearteningly.

"No....we...we were too late..." He said moving up to the orange block. He placed his hand up against it and watched her struggle and try to run away.

"No. We weren't. We can save her! Monty will find a way! He always does!" David exclaimed running with the box up the steps out of the Hangar Bay. The young boy had tears in his eyes. How could they say that? How could it be too late? It hadn't even been a day. He refused to believe that his sister couldn't be saved. He kicked the door to the medical bay and ran into a random examination room. He shut the box off, and she tried to run away. She was like trying to put a cat in a bathtub. She was scratching and clawing at David as he tried to pin her down to a table.

Monty walked in hearing all the ruckus. "Hello, Da-WHAT THE DEVIL DID YOU BRING INTO MY MEDICAL BAY!?" He exclaimed.

"It's my sister! We don't know what happened, she-she was kidnapped, and and then and then she was taken to the Dreadnought, and PLEASE HELP!" He cried as he used his solar energy to pin her to the operating table using clamps around her ankles, wrists, and neck.

"Okay....this is not normal,"

"NO!" He shouted sarcastically

"David, calm down. I know that this isn't normal, but even by medical standards. Call Eris, get your family in here...we need to discuss this." Monty replied.
