Heart
Scientifically it is a muscular organ responsible for circulating blood in body. Average human heart beats 72 times per minute. It weighs on average of 250 g to 300 g in females and 300 g to 350 g in males. In an average lifetime, the heart beats more than 2.5 billion times without ever pausing to rest. Like a pumping machine the heart provides the power needed for life.
Heart is not merely a blood pumping station it has a relationship with emotional brain. There is a link between the heart and brain. The heart is in a constant two-way dialogue with the brain - our emotions change the signals the brain sends to the heart and the heart responds in complex ways. However, we now know that the heart sends more information to the brain than the brain sends to the heart. And the brain responds to the heart in many important ways. As we experience feelings like anger, frustration, anxiety and insecurity, our heart rhythm patterns become more erratic. These erratic patterns are sent to the emotional centers in the brain, which it recognizes as negative or stressful feelings. These signals create the actual feelings we experience in the heart area and the body. The erratic heart rhythms also block our ability to think clearly. These emotions create a chain reaction in the body - stress hormone levels increase blood pressure rises. If we consistently experience these emotions, it can put a strain on the heart and other organs, and eventually lead to serious health problems. When we experience heart-felt emotions like love, care, appreciation and compassion, the heart produces a very different rhythm. In this case it is a smooth pattern. This lets the brain know that the heart feels good and often creates a gentle warm feeling in the area of the heart. Learning to shift out of stressful emotional reactions to these heartfelt emotions can have profound positive effects on our overall health. It is easy to see how our heart and emotions are linked and how we can shift our heart into a more efficient state.
Most of the people are confused when taking some decision where there is a conflict between heart and mind. Emotional decisions can be proven accurate, because it knows what you actually want. Decisions taken based on emotions are free from any outside pressure. Believe in what your heart says you will never go wrong in life. The emotions are all those feelings that so change men as to affect their judgments, and that are also attended by pain or pleasure. And what causes emotion can be rather difficult to define, especially in non scientific terms. Defining the difference between a "true" smile and "false" smile is almost impossible to put into words, yet most of people readily admit that they can distinguish between two. So what defines emotion?. Scientist are still trying to understand just what causes us to have emotions. Nobody views the heart merely as a blood pumping station, anymore. We know that the heart is an emotional organ and has a relationship with the "emotional brain." Beside the emotions, could the heart also be an organ of intelligence that works in unison with the brain? The heart is the seat of intuition, love, creativity, wisdom, gratitude, faith and the like. The finest values and qualities are associated with the heart rather than the mind. How do we know this? We know it in our heart. But, is there a scientific basis for this intuitive knowledge?
Creating a joint venture between head and heart puts a power pack behind your goals. Getting your head in sync with your heart and harnessing the power of coherence gives you the energy efficiency you need to achieve changes that haven't been possible before. The head can notice what things need to change, but the heart provides the power and direction to actually bring about the changes.... You may not always be able to feel a deeper heart feeling right away, but stay focused in the heart. The sincerity of your effort can reconnect you to your heart current and start the juices flowing. To plug in, think of someone you love or remember what feels good, maybe a fulfilling experience. Feelings help you remember. By using your heart as your compass, you can see more clearly which direction to go to stop self-defeating behavior. If you take just one mental or emotional habit that really bothers or drains you and apply heart intelligence to it, you'll see a noticeable difference in your life. In our deepest moments of struggle, frustration, fear, and confusion, we are being called upon to reach in and touch our hearts. Then, we will know what to do, what to say, how to be. What is right is always in our deepest heart of hearts. It is from the deepest part of our hearts that we are capable of reaching out and touching another human being. It is, after all, one heart touching another heart.
When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts, the circle of Creation is completed inside us, the doors of our souls fly open, and love steps forth to heal everything in sight.
Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
