-Chapter 28-

•Derek's POV•

It's now the next day and we haven't heard anything from the doctors, I started worrying about an hour ago, Jane is asleep and Ollie is right next to her holding her in his arms. He has no idea how bad I want to be in his position, but instead of Jane I wanted Alex in my arms. My dad knows some of the doctors here but not even they can tell us what's going to happen, we simply have to wait for Alex to wake up and see what happens.

Finally Alex's doctor came out and I stood up.

"You wait here and let Jane sleep I'll tell you what she said ok?" I said to Ollie, he had a sad expression on his face but he nodded anyway.

"I know you want to hear what she has to say if she asks something that I don't know I'll ask you, don't worry she doesn't have that bad of expression on her face ok, I'll be right back." I said as I started walking towards the doctor and came to a halt in front of her and we were kind of close to where Ollie and Jane were.

"Mr. Johnson, Alex's mom called and let us know that we could give you or your father information on Alex, right now he's still sleeping and he needs his rest, every once in a while he whimpers in his sleep. And from what his friends told me about his trauma with his ex-boyfriend I think it's normal that he somewhat cries in his sleep because of the nightmares, and his ex-boyfriend returning is what caused him to panic and have a seizure. Right now he's been a sleep for a couple of hours and he's stable, he hasn't seized so you and your friends are allowed to be in the room with him, just please keep him calm we don't want him to have too much excitement." After the doctor told me that we can go in the room and that Alex hasn't seized I was glad, but I was also furious at the thought of his ex being the cause of all this. Because of him Alex had a seizure, because of him Alex is in the hospital, because of him my baby cries in his sleep. I have a feeling that if I ever come face to face with this guy ever again I won't be able to hold back and maybe I'll show him that Alex and his friends aren't alone anymore.

Finally taking a deep breath I turned and told Ollie that we could go into Alex's room and he gently woke Jane up.

"What happened?" Jane asked in a sleepy voice, Ollie looked like he was about to drool, I cleared my throat making him snap out of it.

"The doctor said that Alex hasn't seized so we could go in to see him but we have to keep him calm and not get him exited, he's sleeping right now and that he whimpers in his sleep because of the nightmares, but that it's normal since he just saw his ex. Is there something Alex forgot to tell me about what his ex used to be like? Because his trauma seems much more than he makes it out to be. I feel like he hasn't told me everything about it, and I don't want to push him to tell me, I just want to know if there's more to his story and how bad is it? I mean his ex shows up, Alex has a third seizure that brought him to the hospital." I took a long deep breath, I'm not angry at Ollie or Jane or even Alex, I just want to know what happened.

"There's more to the story and it is bad, but ever since you came along he's stopped having nightmares, the last sleepover I had with him which was a few nights ago, I didn't even sleep that much because I was waiting for him to wake up screaming and crying and he never did. Give him a little bit of time and he'll tell you for sure, just prepare yourself for the worst, it's bad but it's not the worst that could've happened." Jane said standing up, I gave her a hug because she said that in a way that calmed me down a lot, I felt eyes on me and looked over at Ollie, he was giving me the 'let go' look and I just rolled my eyes at him and let go of Jane.

"Ok let's go see Alex, and hopefully he's ok and nothing's wrong with his brain." Ollie said standing up as well, that actually got me thinking, what if the seizure caused a problem in his brain? I mean I wouldn't care because he's my Alex, but how would everybody else take it? How would Alex himself take it?

As we walked down the halls we found Alex's doctor, turns out we completely forgot to ask for his room number. After she gave us the room number we had to turn around and walk to the other side, after what seemed like hours we finally reached Alex's room and Jane lightly knocked on the door and peeked her head in, she opened the door more and walked in, I heard her gasp and I'm guessing they haven't seen Alex like this in a really long time. Finally Ollie walked in and then there he was, on a hospital bed hooked up to different machines, he had a mask on and looked really pale.

I wanted to run and bring him to my arms and just tell him that everything would be ok, his eyebrows scrunched together and he moaned a little but it was muffled by his mask. I walked to his side and carefully caressed his cheek and whispered.

"It's ok baby I'm here, you're safe, I won't let anything happen to you or your family, you're all safe now." I kissed his forehead and I heard him sigh. I heard a whimper but it wasn't Alex, I turned to look at Jane who had her head in Ollie's neck, and Ollie rubbing her back soothingly. I sighed and was about to take a seat next to the bed but I heard a faint voice call me.

"Derek?"

I turned around and Alex was staring at me, God how I missed his eyes, his voice, his touch.

"Yes? I'm here." I said as I leaned forward to hear him better.

"Cuddle?" How could I say no to this beautiful man and his puppy face, I smiled and nodded as I carefully climbed on his bed making sure I didn't pull anything or didn't move Alex too much, after I got comfortable I brought Alex in my arms and he sighed again.

"Thank you baby" He said and tried to kiss what ever skin was close to him but the mask wouldn't let him, I chuckled.

"You're welcome, and don't move so much so you don't get too sore in the morning." I said and gave him a kiss on his head.

The doctor came in and was surprised to see me in Alex's bed.

"Mr. Johnson I know you want to make Alex feel better but-"

"But nothing, he stays." Alex cut her off and snuggled more into my side, at first I thought it was the whole two guys in a bed, until she spoke again.

"You're always going to give me a hard time aren't you my little queen." She said as she checked the monitors, Jane and Ollie didn't seem surprised but I sure as hell was, what kind of doctor calls a guy queen?

"Shut up you love me, by the way give me more drugs it's starting to hurt again." Alex said and that surprised me too, Alex wasn't a rude guy so this was weird for me.

"Hey don't be a little jerk or I won't give you anything, by the way your mom said she's on her way, she should be here in a few hours." The doctor said, she gave Alex a kiss on his forehead and I was completely lost, Ollie and Jane looked at me and started to laugh covering their mouth with their hands, Alex looked up at me and smiled, why is this boy so fucking beautiful?

"She's my aunt, my cool aunt." Alex said as he nodded towards the doctor, she smiled and rolled her eyes playfully.

"You only love me because of the drugs." She said obviously joking, she turned to me and glared at me and I don't know why but this woman was pretty intimidating.

"You better be a good guy and take care of my princess" She said sternly, even though she said 'princess' I didn't feel like laughing at all, I was about to answer but Alex beat me to it.

"He's perfect aunt Becky." He said looking at me straight in the eyes smiling, I took off his mask for a second to kiss him on the lips and put the mask back on, he whined and pouted, everyone in the room laughed.

"He has been taking care of Alex ever since he came to the school, I'm sure you've heard of that boy who saved Alex's life in gym that day when he was falling, and if it weren't for that guy Alex would've taken his last hit on the head." Jane said and the doctor nodded.

"That was this sexy man, he saved me in more than one way." Alex said proudly and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"Wow that's amazing! Thank you so much, and I can definitely see that you make Alex happy, I haven't seen that smile in years." The doctor said and Alex looked confused.

"What do you mean? I always smile" He said

"Yes but those weren't real smiles, this one is because there's also light in your eyes." She said caressing his cheek, she bent down and kissed him on the forehead once again.

"Well I have to go, I have other patients to take care of, you seem to be in perfect hands." She was about to walk out but she turned and looked at me.

"Oh and by the way, your father asked me to tell you that he was heading home to make some calls, that he tried to call you from outside but the call wouldn't go through, he said that he'd be back later." She said and I thanked her and she walked out.

"I'm gonna have to go call him and see what's up." I said trying to get up but Alex wouldn't let me, even though he didn't have strength he used his body to keep me there.

"No, you just got here and I want to cuddle." He said pouting, I chuckled.

"Ok ok, I'll call him later." I said as I got comfortable again, I really need to learn how to say no to this beautiful boy, but it's impossible.

"Yay, cuddles! Ow." He winced and held his head.

"Your head hurts baby?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around him and he nodded.

"Take a nap, you need to rest some more." I said and kissed his head, he yawned and got comfortable. I looked over at Ollie and Jane, they seemed to be in a serious conversation and in a blink of an eye Jane was on top of Ollie kissing him with such passion, it made me smile and Alex just had to see this, he needed something to cheer him up.

"Baby look." I whispered in his ear and he turned to where his friends were and I could see his smile grow big which made me smile as well.

"Yay, finally." He whispered, we didn't want to ruin the moment, so he cuddled into my side and closed his eyes, I sighed feeling happy, I finally have Alex in my arms, I'm falling hard for him.
