 Cast Away is the second studio album by the Austrian metal band Visions of Atlantis. It received mixed reviews at the time of its release, and was compared to similar contemporary bands such as Nightwish and Within Temptation.

 In 2005, Nicole Bogner left Visions of Atlantis, making Cast Away her last recording with the band.

 In January 2012, Nicole Bogner passed away at the age of twenty-seven after battling a serious illness for several years. The band expressed their sorrow over this, as well as gratitude to  Bogner for having been a great friend while in the band and outside the band as well. Their fifth album, Ethera, was dedicated to her memory.
