chapter 14 - I Love You, Forever

From 2.12 "Sanctuary", in the courtyard, Rebekah walked toward Kassandra.
Mikayla: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (The Originals)"
"Hello, Sandra," Rebekah told her.
Kassandra smiled a small, relieved smile in realization. "Rebekah."
From 2.12 "Sanctuary", outside the Fauline Cottage, Freya and Rebekah were talking.
"You know who I am," Freya told her.
"Freya," Rebekah told her.
"Tell our brothers and sister I'll be coming to see them soon," Freya told her.
From 2.13 "The Devil Is Damned", in the bayou, Mary had gathered all of the Alphas of the packs intending to join the Crescents, setting up the ingredients for the ritual to bind them to their pack.
Mikayla and Jackson stood nearby.
"Do you renounce your Alpha status?" Mary asked.
The Alphas all knelt in front of Mikayla and Jackson.
Gia and the vampires swarmed around them, hungry and weakened. They all started to transform, attacking the Alphas.
From 2.13 "The Devil Is Damned", in the bayou, Jackson and Mikayla were talking.
"These attacks, they're only going to get worse," Mikayla told him. "We need to get married as soon as possible."
Jackson nodded in agreement.
From 2.12 "Sanctuary", in Lenore's Store, Vincent/Finn grabbed Kaleb/Kol by the shirt, pressing his hand against his chest. "I curse you to this body, unable to jump to another. A meaningless, lonely death."
From 2.13 "The Devil Is Damned", outside the Mikaelson Safe House, Cami and Hope were just about to the house.
The car suddenly shut off in the middle of the road.
Cami, confused, started pressing the start button, but nothing would power up.
From 2.13 "The Devil Is Damned", in the living room of the Mikaelson Safe House, Elijah stood, turning to face Vincent/Finn. "Gas has pervaded every single room in this home." He took off his daylight ring, holding it in one hand, holding his other hand into the sunlight. "Goodbye, brother."
Elijah let his hand burn and burst into flames, igniting the gas in the air.
From 2.13 "The Devil Is Damned", outside, The house exploded in a humongous fireball with Vincent/Finn and Elijah inside.
Cami was the explosion from inside the car down the road, jumping in shock and horror, watching the house go up in flames.

Day One - Same Night
On the Road - Cami's Car
Cami was driving, speeding down the road.
Hope was in the backseat in her carseat, crying.
Cami turned back to comfort her, panicked and anxious. "It's okay, sweet girl. I just need to find a pay phone."
Cami finally found a run-down auto garage, pulling in.
--
Parking Lot
There was a car with its hood popped, but otherwise it was completely deserted.
Cami got out of the car, quickly walking over to get a still-crying Hope from the backseat, walking toward the payphone. She accidentally tripped, dropping all of her change onto the ground. She sighed in frustration. "Damn it!" Hope started to cry harder. Cami looked guilty. "Oh, I'm sorry. You're being so brave, the least I can do is watch my--" She heard a metallic noise nearby, freezing in place. She swallowed nervously, raising her voice to call out to whoever was lurking nearby. "Whoever's out there, if you try anything, I will gouge out your eyes."
Cami breathed heavily, looking around.
Elijah appeared behind her. His clothes were burnt in places and he was covered in ash, but he was otherwise unscathed. "Actually, Camille..." Cami gasped, jumping, turning to face him. "That's probably not necessary."
Elijah reached his hand out to Cami to communicate that she should come over to him quickly.
Cami walked closer, looking at him worriedly. "What the hell happened back there?"
Elijah quickly but gently ushered Cami and Hope to the SUV. "That's a discussion for the car." He checked to make sure no one was watching them. Cami put Hope in the backseat. "Let's move."
Cami and Elijah walked toward the front seats of the car to get inside.

Day Two
Morning - Abattoir Compound - Hayley's Room
Hayley was in her bedroom, quickly packing up a bag of clothes.
Kassandra walked in. "What do you think you're doing?"
Hayley didn't even look at her, she just continued packing her bag. "Elijah said they're on the road. So, I'm going to go to them and get my daughter."
Kassandra stepped closer, sighing. "Hayley--"
Hayley turned to face Kassandra. "Do not tell me that it's not safe. I'll tell you what's not safe. Blowing up a house just to keep your evil brother from finding her."
Kassandra sighed. "We will deal with Finn."
Hayley raised her voice. "And then what? Every time you kill him, he's just going to jump into another body."
"We tried running," Kassandra told her. "We tried hiding. Neither will work."
"So what's your bright idea?" Hayley asked.
"As it happens, I am working on a plan as we speak," Kassandra told her. "One which will be bolstered greatly if you just calm down and keep your eye on the prize."
"Do not manage me, Kassandra," Hayley told her. "I have every right to--"
"Hayley, Mikayla is getting married today," Kassandra told her. "An act which will seal the loyalty of all the wolves that answer to Finn." Hayley gave her a look for using Mikayla against her. "Mikayla will be queen to an army." Kassandra took the bag out of Hayley's hands, setting it on the bed, giving Hayley a significant look. "But even a queen needs her sister to be there on the day of her wedding that will protect her niece for some time."
Hayley knew that she was right, knowing that she couldn't abandon Mikayla, and knowing that Elijah and Cami would be back with Hope soon, sighing in defeat.

St. Anne's Church - Attic
Davina and Caitlin were with Josh.
Josh was groaning in pain, pinching the bridge of his nose as if he had a headache.
"Well, you still don't look so good," Caitlin told him.
"Yeah, look who's talking," Josh replied. Caitlin shrugged. Davina chuckled. Josh sighed. "I went after Aiden, didn't I?"
Caitlin knelt in front of Josh. "You know, he was up all day, all night with you until we broke the spell."
Josh nodded. "You guys totally saved my ass."
"And they totally saved mine," Caitlin told him. "And Marcel, Noah and Auria's."
Kaleb/Kol walked in. "Yeah, well, don't mention it, Caitlin." Caitlin looked at him. "I mean, it's like you four and your little best friend are like extended family to mine, anyway, right?" Caitlin rolled her eyes slightly in amusement, tilting her head. Kaleb/Kol tossed a blood bag to Josh. "There you go. Here's a little go-juice." He looked from Josh to Caitlin. "So, you two should be, well..." He gestured to the door. "Going."
Davina chuckled, giving Josh and Caitlin each a hug. "Bye."
"See you," Caitlin told them.
Josh walked out, leaving.
Caitlin looked at Kaleb/Kol, knowing that he was dying, and knowing that Davina didn't know yet, giving him a significant look, silently telling him to tell Davina or she would.
Kaleb/Kol nodded in understanding, looking away somberly.
Caitlin looked from Kaleb/Kol to Davina somberly, walking out, leaving.
Kaleb/Kol looked at Davina. "So, how are you, love?"
"Well, you know, exhausted after a day of being a hero and saving the day, as usual," Davina answered.
"And even though we certainly did have a lot of help, we did do it together," Kaleb/Kol told her. "It's about time we say that we're, uh... oh, what is that phrase? 'Going steady'?"
Davina rolled her eyes, smiling. "You wish."
Kaleb/Kol chuckled sadly. "Ah, maybe. By the way, uh... we should be finishing that mystical dagger. What do you say?"
Davina looked at Kaleb/Kol, nodding.

Bayou
Aiden and Jackson were standing out on the docks of the lake, where they were having the traditional Viking funeral for the Alphas who were killed in 2.13 The Devil is Damned. They both looked torn.
Aiden sighed. "All those Alphas... dead. That's a lot of wolves that are gonna want revenge."
"We make it clear the witches were behind this," Jackson told him. "The vampires were manipulated by dark magic. This... wasn't their fault."
Klaus approached them from behind, greeting them with a bag that was covered in blood, throwing it at their feet. "Gentlemen." Aiden and Jackson turned to face him. "I come bearing gifts."
Jackson looked at Klaus warily. "The hell did you do?"
"I removed the heads of the wolf leaders who refused to relinquish Finn's moonlight rings," Klaus answered.
Jackson gave him an unamused look. "You brought me a bag of werewolf heads?"
Klaus shrugged. "Well, I'd hoped you'd see it as an early wedding present. Besides, I can't have witch sympathizers in my army."
Jackson approached him. "The wolves are not now, nor ever will be your army."
"You know, you are a brave and selfless leader, Jackson," Klaus told him. Aiden nodded in agreement. "And I'm positive you'll remain so for the entire duration of your reign." Aiden joined Jackson's side, confused. "Festivities begin at eight at my compound. Spread the word. And, do arrive early enough to clean yourself up. It's your wedding day, for God's sake."
Klaus smiled, turning around, walking away, leaving.
Aiden and Jackson looked at each other in bewilderment, clearly confused and suspicious.
Jackson kicked at the bag of werewolf heads, looking at Aiden. "Am I crazy, or did he just do his version of a nice thing?"

Morgue
Freya had just entered the room, where she found two bodies in black body bags laying on the autopsy tables. She walked toward the nearest one and unzipped the bag to find Vincent/Finn's body, which was badly burnt on one side. She laid her hand on his chest.

Lafayette Cemetery - Kol's Playhouse
Davina and Kaleb/Kol were preparing to do the Kemiya spell to turn the silver dagger into gold so it could be used against Klaus.
Kaleb/Kol lit a Bunsen burner.
Davina set up the ingredients.
"Are you ready?" Kaleb/Kol asked.
"I don't know," Davina admitted. "Never done this before, remember?"
"I've never actually completed the spell itself, but, then, I've never had an accomplice as powerful as you," Kaleb/Kol told her, pulling the silver dagger out of his trunk, holding it up for her to see, smiling.
Davina smiled. "So, let's do it, then."
Kaleb/Kol smiled. "Let's do it."

Davina and Kaleb/Kol continued their spell with the dagger. "E loke gae la lidi. E loke gae la lidi."
The dagger became so hot that both Davina and Kaleb/Kol had to drop it to the floor. They looked at each other in shock.
Davina knelt to the floor, picking the dagger up, revealing that it had turned from silver to gold. She stood, looking at Kaleb/Kol in awe, smiling proudly.
Kaleb/Kol was amazed, smiling proudly. "I think it worked."
Davina chuckled in amazement.
Kaleb/Kol looked at Davina for a moment, leaning closer, kissing her gently. Davina pulled away briefly to set the dagger on the table, wrapping her arms around his neck, kissing him passionately.

Lafayette Cemetery - Kol's Playhouse
Kaleb/Kol was recovering from his nosebleed, mopping up the blood with a tissue.
Davina watches him, clearly concerned. "Kol, are you sure you're all right?"
Kaleb/Kol was turned away from her, looking extremely scared and worried, but when he turned to face her, he put on a fake smile. "I'm fine. Oh, a spell like that takes his toll, doesn't it?" Davina looked as if she didn't quite believe him, but humored him anyway, nodding in agreement. Kaleb/Kol pointed to the dagger. "And you hide that for now, okay? Because, uh, well, today, we've got a reason to celebrate." He walked toward her. "Come to Mikayla's wedding with me."
Davina smiled, handing him the dagger. "Fine. But, if there's music? We're dancing."
Davina turned around, walking out of the tomb to get ready.
Kaleb/Kol let his smile fade, pulling out his phone, making a call. "Bex? Bex, it's your brother. I need a favor."
--
Abattoir Compound - Mikayla's Room
Mikayla was looking through a wardrobe of old dresses, hats and jewelry to find something to wear to her own wedding.
Hayley and Rebekah walked in.
Rebekah sighed. "All right, bad news first. I will have to miss your nuptials." Mikayla looked at Rebekah in disappointment. Rebekah looked guilty. "Kol has a bit of a life-and-death matter he needs my help and help from Auria to deal with."
"Anything I can do, Rebekah?" Mikayla asked.
"It's witch business," Rebekah told her. "Which now seems to be my thing."
Mikayla chuckled, rolling her eyes.
"Besides, you have enough to deal with," Hayley told her. "On that note... Kassandra, you can come in now." Kassandra walked in with a white lace, halter wedding dress with a tulle skirt. Mikayla looked at the beautiful wedding dress in surprise. "It's white, and it's from Rebekah, which won't fool anyone, but you can't get married in skinny jeans and combat boots."
Kassandra handed the dress to Mikayla.
Mikayla smiled. "Oh, thank you." Hayley, Kassandra and Rebekah smiled. Mikayla stood in front of her full-length mirror, holding the dress against her body to see how it would look. "It's beautiful."
"Well, I happen to be the only woman alive who's commissioned wedding dresses in five different centuries," Rebekah told her. "Never made it down the aisle, of course."
"And I wanted to say, Mikayla Labonair, now you may be marrying Jackson Kenner of the boozy backwater Kenners, but you're still one of us," Kassandra told her. "A Mikaelson." Mikayla turned to face them, smiling a small smile. "Always will be."
"That would be such a nice compliment if it didn't link me to so many homicidal lunatics," Mikayla told them.
The girls smiled.
"And I still have one more surprise for you before your big walk down the aisle," Hayley told her. She smiled, winking. "Secrecy is important to me on things like this."
Mikayla smiled. "I'm just glad that we're all here." She looked at Rebekah. "Even if you can't make it to the ceremony." She looked at Kassandra. "And this is the side of Kassandra Mikaelson that the world has yet to see. The caring and protective side of who will kill to keep her family safe but is just a girl underneath it all."
"Shh," Kassandra told them. "That stays between us in the family. I have a reputation to uphold."
Hayley nodded. "Of course."
The girls laughed.

The French Quarter - Alley
Josh was waiting around in an alley, pacing nervously.
Aiden turned into the alley from the street, walking toward him.
Josh looked at him anxiously. "Thanks for coming. Look, I know I owe you a--" Aiden immediately embraced Josh in relief. Josh looked both confused and relieved by his reaction. "Massive apology."
They pulled away.
"You scared the hell out of me," Aiden told him.
"I know, and I'm sorry," Josh told him. "I just--"
Josh cupped the side of Aiden's face gently with his hand.
Aiden nervously pulled it away. "Look, um... Mikayla and Jackson are getting married today. Quarter's gonna be packed with wolves. Okay, and after this wedding? Our whole pack will inherit Mikayla's control of her wolf form. That means werewolves will be able to turn at will. We'll be that much more deadly to vampires. To you." Josh looked at him with a hurt expression. "I... think we need a time-out."
Josh was confused. "Whoa, whoa. I'm sorry, is this the World's Worst Breakup Speech? Because if so, just say it like it is. You wanna call things off because it would look bad for the Werewolf VP to be dating... me."
"No," Aiden told him. "Dating me puts a target on your back. I'm just trying to keep you safe."
"Okay, you know what?" Josh asked. "I can't remember the last time I was safe."
Josh was visibly hurt, sighing, shaking his head, walking away.
Aiden looked after him, upset. "Josh..."
Josh walked out of the alley, leaving without looking back, leaving Aiden alone.

Marcel's Loft
Caitlin and Davina were talking to Noah, Auria and Marcel about the wedding.
Davina was excited. "And Kol's gonna take me to the wedding. It's going to be fun. Isn't it?"
They looked guilty because they knew that Kaleb/Kol was dying, but he had made them promise not to tell her until he had had a chance to tell him himself.
Auria nodded. "Yeah, it should be."
Marcel took a drink of bourbon. "So, Mikayla and Jackson are finally tying the knot after years of knowing each other, even if most of that time was in wolf form. It's about damn time."
"Even if Mikayla and Jackson's wedding is not a normal wedding," Noah told them.
Caitlin turned to Marcel and Noah. "Are you guys gonna be there?"
"That's the deal that we made with the wolves," Noah told them. "We bear witness to the wedding and there will be a peace our two species to follow."
"I'm going because Mikayla asked me to come herself," Auria told them.
"A personal invitation from Mikayla the bride to be," Caitlin told her, smiling. "Nice, Auria."
"Yeah, she told me to tell you you better come, too," Auria told her. "Mikayla wants you there, too, Caitlin."
Caitlin nodded. "All right."
Auria looked at Marcel. "Not the first wedding I'd have a date to. Glad I'm going with you, Marcel."
Marcel smiled, putting his arm around Auria, pulling her into his chest, kissing her on the head. "Glad I can actually go with you, Auria."
Noah stood, walking closer to Caitlin. "And what about you, Caitlin? Would you like a date to the wedding?"
Caitlin smiled. "I thought you'd never ask, Noah."
Davina smiled. "Aw."
Auria looked at the text on her phone from Kaleb/Kol.
Need help with a spell.
DO NOT TELL DAVINA.
Auria sighed, standing from the couch. "I need to go run an errand before the big night. But save me a seat."
Marcel nodded. "Of course."
Auria walked out, leaving.
The other four watched her go.

Abattoir Compound - Ballroom
The ballroom of the compound was full of decorators and caterers who were setting up for the impending wedding.
Jackson and Mikayla walked around, taking it all in.
"Oh, I so do not belong in your world," Jackson told her.
Mikayla scoffed. "My world? Give me some credit. I'm not exactly the girl who sat around fantasizing about her wedding day. And, if I had?" She gestured to a huge wedding cake being pushed on a cart by a caterer. "It probably would have looked a little less... this."
Jackson chuckled. "Yes."
Klaus walked in. "Mikayla." Mikayla turned to face him. "If I must intrude, there's someone who wishes to say hello."
Jackson and Mikayla exchanged a confused look.
--
Courtyard
Hayley, Kassandra and Elijah were standing together.
Hayley was holding Hope in her arms.
Klaus led Mikayla and Jackson inside.
Mikayla saw Hope, in shock, walking closer. "You brought her here? Finn could be anywhere."
"We've taken precautions," Hayley told her. "There'll be no uninvited guests at your wedding, and after, your wolves will be the first line of defense to this home. No more running, Queen. Like I said, Mikayla. I had one more surprise for you."
Klaus smiled, gesturing to Hayley and Hope.
Mikayla looked at Elijah and Kassandra nervously, still unsure.
Elijah and Kassandra smiled, nodding encouragingly.
"It's okay, Mikayla," Elijah told her. "And congratulations for today. I am happy for you."
Mikayla smiled, walking toward Hayley and Hope. "Thank you, Elijah."
Hope smiled, cooing and squealing happily.
Hayley and Mikayla laughed.
Jackson stepped closer, keeping his distance. "Mikayla..."
"Hope, this is Jackson," Mikayla told him. "Jackson, this is Hope."
Jackson smiled.
Hope looked at Jackson wonderingly, holding Jackson's fingers, cooing.
Everyone smiled.

Klaus' Study
Klaus poured himself a shot of bourbon, drinking it quickly.
Kassandra and Elijah joined him.
Klaus poured himself another shot, not turning to face his brother and sister right away.
"I thought your daughter's return would please you," Elijah told him.
"I'm overjoyed," Klaus told them, drinking the second shot.
"And I'll be even more so provided you do nothing to harm Jackson or dissuade Mikayla from going through with this wedding," Kassandra told him.
Klaus turned to face them in annoyance. "Yes, you've warned me once before, Kassandra."
"And I will continue to do so," Kassandra told him.
"Mikayla has no duty to this family whatsoever, Niklaus, but she is doing everything she can to protect your daughter," Elijah told him. "She is making it her job to protect us."
Klaus shrugged. "We never asked her to."
"Because family does not need to be asked for protection," Elijah told him. "We're mobilizing an army. And you will do nothing to prevent that. Mikayla is putting family first, and not some petty grievance you have against Jackson. I suggest you do the same."
"I won't stop the wedding," Klaus told them.
Kassandra patted Klaus on the shoulder. "Well, then we won't have a problem, will we?"
Kassandra gave Klaus a significant look, turning around, walking out, leaving.
--
Lafayette Cemetery - Kol's Playhouse
Auria, Rebekah and Kaleb/Kol were holding hands, doing a spell to try and heal Kaleb/Kol, surrounded by lit candles.
Auria channeled Rebekah's power and tried to heal Kaleb/Kol with the spell. "Voltre mezino cadau. Voltre mezino cadau. Voltre mezino cadau. Voltre mezino cadau."
Kaleb/Kol's nose started to bleed. He angrily let go of their hands, swiping many of the materials off of the table, onto the floor, yelling in frustration. "No!"
Rebekah reached out to rub his arm soothingly.
Auria looked at him sympathetically. "Calm down. You need to keep your wits if you're to beat this."
Kaleb/Kol sat down on the bench by the table, looking exhausted and defeated. "There is no beating it." Rebekah and Auria exchanged a sad look. "It's latched on like a vice."
"So, you're giving up?" Rebekah asked. "What happened to the brother I used to know? The one who laughed death in the face?"
"It's a lot easier to do when you haven't died already once," Kaleb/Kol told them. "And I hated it the first time. The ironic thing is that I actually preferred this go-around. Being a witch. No heightened emotion, no bloodlust. It was just me. For a while, anyway."
Kaleb/Kol laughed bitterly.
Rebekah was in denial about losing her brother again.
Auria didn't know what to say, looking down.

Night - Abattoir Compound - Elijah's Study
Jackson was getting ready for the ceremony. He was trying to tie his tie, but his hands were shaking nervously. He frustratingly unknotted the tie, sighing.
Aiden was standing behind him, chuckling in amusement, pouring them drinks. "Need a hand with that?"
Jackson sighed, tossing the tie aside in annoyance. "No."
"Look, I'm sorry Oliver couldn't be here," Aiden told him.
Jackson sighed somberly. "Yeah, me too." He took the drink Aiden offered him. "Although, I'm sure he'd have a lot to say about me in this get-up in the vampire house."
They both laughed, drinking.
"So, you really think the wolves will be cool with the vampires?" Aiden asked.
Jackson nodded. "And if not, screw 'em. I mean, we're done chasing old grudges. We got real enemies to worry about." Aiden took a huge gulp of his drink, looking nervous. Jackson suddenly realized what Aiden meant. "This ain't about vamps in general, now, is it?"
Aiden was embarrassed. "Look, I know you know about me and Josh." Jackson nodded in agreement. "And I'm not asking you for permission, okay?"
"Good," Jackson told him. "'Cause I'm pretty sure we had the 'love is love' talk when you were seventeen."
Aiden rolled his eyes. "Yeah."
Jackson chuckled. "Hey, he's good enough for you." He shrugged. "Then it's good."
"I just don't want him caught in the crossfire, you know?" Aiden asked.
Jackson walked toward him, clapping him on the shoulder affectionately. "That won't be easy. But we got no chance of winning this fight without something to fight for." Aiden nodded in agreement. Jackson clapped him affectionately on the shoulder again. Mikayla appeared in the doorway in her wedding attire. Aiden noticed her. Jackson turned to follow his gaze to Mikayla, absolutely stunned speechless with how beautiful she looked. "Wow."
Mikayla smiled, chuckling.
Aiden smiled. "I think that's my cue."
Aiden walked out, leaving.
Mikayla walked toward Jackson. "There's no rule about seeing each other before the ritual, is there?"
Jackson smiled, shaking his head.
Mikayla noticed Jackson's tie lying on the chair, gesturing toward it, walking toward the tie, picking it up.
Jackson chuckled. "Is everything okay?"
Mikayla stepped closer, tying his tie for him. "Yeah." She smiled, chuckling. "Wanted to see you, make sure you weren't wearing a flannel tux."
Jackson laughed, watching as she tied his tie and straightened his collar. "Thank you. Um, I'm actually glad you're here. I got something for you." He walked over to the table, picking up a small wooden box, opening it to show Mikayla a silver chain with a crescent moon pendant with a green stone in it. "Um, the, uh... the stone is moss agate. You were born under a planting moon, so it's your mineral totem. It symbolizes healing and courage, and after everything that you've done for the pack, I'd say that's just about right."
Mikayla smiled a small smile. "I don't know what to say, Jackson."
Jackson took out the necklace, walking around Mikayla to fasten it around her neck. "You're wearing Rebekah's dress, getting married in Klaus's house. I figured you should have at least one thing that is just yours."
Mikayla and Jackson looked at each other lovingly, smiling.

Ballroom
(Song:) Don't Shy From the Light - Neulore
Every guest for the wedding was gathered in the ballroom, dressed for the occasion.
Davina and Caitlin walked in together.
Caitlin took a program from a young girl.
Davina looked around for seats.
Noah called out to them, sitting nearby Josh, Marcel and Auria. "Caitlin. Davina."
Davina and Caitlin exchanged a look, smiling, walking toward them, sitting down.
Aiden walked in, seeing them, walking toward them, seeing that Davina and Caitlin were sitting on either side of Josh, looking at Davina. "May I?"
Davina nodded, standing, stepping around Aiden to sit at the end.
Aiden sat down next to Josh, smiling, taking his hand.
Klaus, Elijah, Kassandra and Hayley were watching from the balcony.
Mikayla walked in from behind everyone.
Everyone in their seats stood, turning to face Mikayla.
Jackson walked in from behind Mikayla, standing by her side.
Jackson and Mikayla took each other's hands, looking at them, smiling, walking down the aisle together. They separated at the stairs, walking up the two separate staircases to the alter above the room, looking at each other, smiling. They joined Mary up on the altar.
Mary looked at the guests below. "Please be seated." Everyone took their seats. "We gather together as a community seeking peace, inspired by the union of this couple before you." Mikayla looked toward Hayley on the balcony. Hayley smiled proudly. "There was a time when werewolves saw themselves not as cursed but as blessed with a connection to our most pure selves." Hayley looked at Klaus, Elijah and Kassandra, smiling happily for her sister. Klaus and Elijah remained composed. Kassandra smiled a small smile. Mikayla looked at Jackson. "And tonight, we honor that blessing with the long-awaited Unification of the two Crescent bloodlines." Mary performed a hand-fasting by binding Mikayla and Jackson's wrists with baby's breath flowers. "In doing so, we choose to embrace Mikayla's vampire nature. With this union, Mikayla will share her unique gifts with her pack." She placed a long lit match into Mikayla and Jackson's lit hands to light their ceremonial candle. "And now, your vows."
Jackson looked at Mikayla, lost in her, taking a deep breath. "I pledge to honor you and defend you and yours above all others."
"To share in blessings and burdens," Mikayla told him. "To be your advocate, your champion."
"To be your comfort, your sanctuary, and for as long as we both shall live," Jackson told her.
"To be your family," Mikayla told him.
Jackson smiled a small smile. "To be your family."
Mikayla and Jackson looked at each other happily, smiling, lighting the candle together.
Mary smiled. "You two have endured all the traditional werewolf rituals and trials. There is only one remaining. Jackson, you may kiss your bride."
Jackson looked at Mikayla.
Mikayla smiled.
Jackson looked at Mikayla for a moment, putting a hand on either of her cheeks, kissing her for a long moment. Mikayla placed a hand on his clavicle, deepening the kiss passionately. When they pulled away, their eyes were glowing gold, indicating that the Unification Ceremony had worked. They smiled happily, turning to look at the crowd.
The guests all looked at each other curiously.
Aiden's eyes were glowing gold.
Every wolf in the crowd had glowing gold eyes.
Everyone began to smile and chatter, all thrilled that the ceremony had empowered their pack.
Klaus smiled, walking out, leaving.
Kassandra looked at Elijah and Hayley for a moment, following Klaus.

Balcony
Klaus stood on the balcony overlooking The French Quarter at night.
Kassandra walked outside to join him, pointing at her brother. "I know that look." She turned her back to the railing, leaning against it. "I've seen it too often. What are you planning?"
"Don't know what you're talking about," Klaus told her.
"Jackson marries Mikayla, the maternal aunt of your child in our home, solidifying his rule over the wolves you yourself once sought to control," Kassandra told him. "Talk to me."
"I'll let Jackson have Mikayla," Klaus told her. "Though Jackson isn't fit to lead an army tasked with protecting my daughter, his reign will be short-lived."
"Nik, you can't honestly believe we'd allow you to harm Jackson on the day of Mikayla's wedding," Kassandra told him.
"He's not one of us, Kassandra," Klaus told her. "He's mortal. Mortals perish."
Klaus started to walk away.
Kassandra grabbed his arm to stop him. "Nik, I'm warning you. Leave him be."
Klaus didn't answer, walking past her, into the compound.
Kassandra sighed, knowing that Klaus wasn't going to leave it be.
Even if he didn't kill Jackson, he would find another way.

The French Quarter
(Song:) Showtime - Sabor! Brass Band
A parade was being held in the streets in celebration of the wedding, led by several police officers on motorcycles.
Jackson and Mikayla followed, dancing.
Mikayla was wearing a long white cloak to go with her wedding dress, having a white lace parasol, spinning and twirling it around, in rhythm of the music and their dancing.
Behind them, a marching band was playing the bright jazz tune along with the rest of the wedding guests, dancing and having a great time.
Mikayla and Jackson looked at each other, smiling, dancing and spinning around in the street.
The parade continued on.

Abattoir Compound - Balcony
Klaus and Kassandra were watching the parade from the balcony above.
"Are you to be my chaperone the entire evening, Kassandra?" Klaus asked.
Kassandra shrugged. "Chaperone. Steward. Babysitter. Whichever term tickles your fancy most, brother. You are welcome to indulge whomever and whatever you please. I would only ask that you refrain from any homicidal behavior." Klaus turned to walk inside. Kassandra called after him without turning to face him in annoyance. "Let me make myself quite clear, Niklaus. Mikayla is getting everything she ever wanted. A husband, a family. I know that you and Elijah wouldn't care which way it goes. But Rebekah, Hayley and I do." She turned to face him. "If Rebekah is right and Freya is still walking about, then no doubt that our crazy Aunt Dahlia will be, too. And despite what everyone thinks, Nik, we aren't invincible. Especially to witches that are even stronger than our mother. We are not enough, Nik. We need help. We need Jackson's help, and his army. You are not to go near him. Think, Nik. If you kill Jackson, you lose Mikayla, and the wolves will descend into chaos. You are acting out of fear from trusting anyone outside of this family."
Klaus turned to face Kassandra, walking closer in annoyance. "Because the safest hands our own, Kassandra."
"Your child arrived here today," Kassandra told him. "Her security is strengthened by wolves that would defend her. And you would jeopardize that alliance. Nik, I have stood by you, I have defended you for as long as I can recall. But in the name of your daughter and her maternal aunt Mikayla, do not commit this evil. I saved Jackson from you once before. I can do it again. And again. And again. Until you realize that he is not a threat and you leave him be."
Klaus scowled unhappily at his little sister's logic and determination.

The French Quarter
The parade continued on.
Davina, Caitlin and Josh were walking together.
Davina and Caitlin were both wearing trench coats over their dresses.
Caitlin looked at Josh. "You okay?"
Josh nodded. "Oh, yeah, totally. My boyfriend and his buddies are super wolves now." They turned to look behind them. Aiden showed off his new powers by jumping onto a car parked on the street, doing a back flip off of it, landing solidly on his feet, laughing happily, wrapping his arms around the necks of his werewolf friends. Josh smiled. "It's gonna be awesome."
"Yeah, Noah's a little nervous about that," Caitlin told them.
Davina chuckled. "Hey, at least both of your boyfriends showed up."
"Aw, come on," Caitlin told them.
Josh took either of their hands, spinning them around.
Caitlin laughed.
Davina noticed Kaleb/Kol standing in the nearby alley, noticing he looked really pale and strung-out as he leaned against the wall of the building. "Is that..." Caitlin nudged for Davina to go check on him. Davina walked toward him. Kaleb/Kol laughed bitterly with tears in his eyes. "Kol? What's wrong?"
Kaleb/Kol chuckled. "Aren't you a sight?"
Davina took Kaleb/Kol's shaking hands, looking even more concerned. "Kol, you're ice cold."
"Now, listen to me, okay?" Kaleb/Kol asked. "Finn... he got a bit perturbed when we went to rescue Caitlin, Auria, Marcel and Noah. And I..."
Davina shook her head in denial. "You said that you were gonna be okay."
Kaleb/Kol hesitated, not wanting to admit the truth. "I thought I was, but... I'm running out of time."

Abattoir Compound - Hope's Nursery
Hayley was in Hope's nursery, holding a slightly-fussy Hope in her arms, looking out of the window. She heard approaching footsteps, turning to see Klaus.
"I heard her crying," Klaus told her.
"Oh, she's probably just teething," Hayley told him. Klaus walked closer. Hayley smiled. "She's actually pretty low-maintenance. She's been smiling and looking all around. I think she likes it here. Feels like home." She watched Klaus smile at Hope. "You wanna hold her?" Klaus looked speechlessly at Hope. Hayley licked her lips nervously. "This is all pretty overwhelming. But I know one thing that will make this work. Happy mom, happy dad, happy family... happy baby."
Klaus looked at Hayley guiltily, rethinking his plans for Jackson's death. He looked at Hope.
Hope cooed at him.
Klaus and Hayley smiled.

(Song:) Lost in the Light - Bahamas
The reception was going on.
Some people were eating and drinking. Others were dancing. But everyone was mingling together. Caterers came around with hors d'oeuvres and trays of drinks.
Aiden walked toward Josh.
"Look, I know that this won't be easy," Josh told him.
Aiden put a hand on either of Josh's cheeks, kissing him passionately in front of everyone.
Auria and Marcel were sitting at a table.
"Marcel, are you mad at me?" Auria asked.
Marcel raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Sorry? Mad at you for what? What did you do now?"
Auria smiled. "Ha ha. I'm talking about the secret I had to keep from you for... a long time now."
"What, about Rebekah and the baby?" Marcel asked. Auria nodded. "No, I'm not mad at you, Auria. You did what you had to. Why would I be mad?"
"Because I might have lied to you more than once," Auria answered.
"Yeah, but you were just protecting them and me," Marcel told her. "So, yeah, no. I'm not gonna be mad for you doing the right thing. What makes me mad is that they have been strong-arming for you for a lot longer than I thought."
Auria rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well, no more. I volunteered to try and save Kol because he got hexed trying to come and save you, me, Noah and Caitlin. But after this, I'm done."
Marcel smiled a small smile, shaking his head. "No, no, don't say that. Because there's always gonna be another thing that they're gonna find some way to make you do. Trust me, Auria."
Auria sighed, rolling her eyes. "Come on, Marcel, don't be a downer. This is a wedding. It's supposed to be fun. You know, the old me would be drunk and dancing on the dance floor." She looked toward the dance floor where Mikayla and Jackson; and Noah and Caitlin were dancing. She looked at Marcel. "I can minus the drunk part, if you'd agree to it."
Marcel chuckled, shaking his head. "Auria..."
"Marcel," Auria replied, taking his hand, standing, walking toward the dance floor, pulling Marcel with her.
Marcel and Auria started to dance, smiling.
White flower petals rained down around the couples dancing.
Caitlin and Noah continued to dance, looking up at the white flower petals that were raining down all around them, both of them smiling, continuing to dance. Noah spun Caitlin around, pulling her closer into a kiss. They pulled away after a moment, looking at each other, smiling.
Mikayla looked at Jackson, smiling. Jackson spun her around, pulling her closer. Mikayla laid her head on his shoulder as they continued to dance.
(Song Ends)
Klaus walked down the steps, holding Hope. "Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please? Hayley, if you would join me, I would like to propose a toast." Hayley looked surprised, reluctantly joining Klaus at the front of the room, taking Hope in her arms. "I want to welcome you all. As you know, last spring, Hayley and I had a daughter. Due to tragic circumstances, she was lost. Now, she has returned home. Her name is Hope." The guests gasped, beginning to murmur amongst themselves about the revelation. "She will live here among you, her pack. Her family. We implore you. Protect our daughter. Love her, as one of your own." Jackson nodded in agreement. Klaus took a champagne from a nearby tray. Elijah and Kassandra stood on the balcony, watching. Klaus smiled. "Mikayla, I invite you and your husband to live here, uniting your proud and noble people in peace. Welcome to the family, Jackson." Jackson nodded. Mikayla was slightly suspicious. Klaus raised his glass. "To Jackson and Mikayla."
Everyone spoke together. "Cheers."
Elijah was surprised, confused and suspicious.
Kassandra was unimpressed.
Klaus raised his glass toward Jackson and Mikayla, smiling devilishly.

Lafayette Cemetery - Kol's Playhouse
Kaleb/Kol was sitting in a chair.
Davina and Rebekah went through all of their magical notes and texts to find a solution.
Davina found a passage in a book, placing it on the table. "Transubstantiation. We can combine it with a protection spell."
"Finn's spell blocks that," Rebekah told her. "The body calls it, and then he dies. We need to jump him into a new one."
"We can't just pick another body at a farmer's market," Davina told them in frustration. "We don't even have a spell for that."
Kaleb/Kol was pale and weak, close to his end. "Bex? Can you give me a moment alone with Davina?" Rebekah looked at Kaleb/Kol sadly, nodding in agreement, walking out, leaving. Kaleb/Kol stood. Davina looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I believe I owe you a dance."
Kaleb/Kol took Davina's hand. Davina took his hand, trying not to cry.

Abattoir Compound - Elijah's Study
Elijah was having a drink.
Hayley walked in.
Elijah sensed her presence, but didn't turn around. "A lovely ceremony."
"It was," Hayley agreed. "Mikayla's so happy."
"She deserves to be, after everything she's doing for this family," Elijah told her. He turned to face her. "With the wolves unified, Hope is safe. Everything is exactly as you intended. And, in the interest of maintaining the peace, I have decided to join the vampires in Algiers. I believe with the correct instruction and guidance, this community may well prosper."
Hayley looked at him in surprise. "You're moving out? Elijah, this is your home."
Elijah smiled sadly. "In my long, long life, I've called many places home, Hayley. Besides, with Klaus asking Mikayla and Jackson to join us here, it will be a little crowded. And me, I haven't been able to move on from my mother's done to my mind while I'm with you all."
"You mean the visions of me and Nicola Salvatore?" Hayley asked. Elijah looked at her in surprise. Hayley nodded. "Yeah, I know. I know you haven't been able to move on from Nicola because of your mother putting those visions in your head of the two of us. So now you're confused."
"Sadly, yes," Elijah agreed. "And to figure out how to mend my own mind and find the answers for myself, for you, Nicola, I need to do that alone. Away from here." Hayley knew that he was right. Elijah stepped closer to her. "And you need to remain here with your daughter."
Hayley looked sad. "Since I've met you, Elijah, I have felt... everything for you. But you haven't been able to come clean with the way you feel about me. Because of Nicola."
"Because I have to put my family first," Elijah told her. "But I haven't been able to come clean with the way I feel, because I have to put my family first. And you deserve to be happy, Hayley. With someone that is put together and one who can admitted how they feel. Right now, that person is not me. I need to take care of myself. I'm sorry."
Hayley looked down sadly, shaking her head. "No, don't apologize. I saw it coming." She looked at Elijah. "I understand."
Rebekah walked in. "Elijah."
Elijah looked at Rebekah in confusion, not recognizing her new appearance right away.

Hope's Nursery
Klaus was leaning over Hope's crib, watching her as she fidgeted around. When he heard Kassandra, Elijah and Rebekah come into the room, he sighed in annoyance. "Must you intrude on every moment?"
"We're not here to quarrel, brother," Elijah told him.
"It's Kol," Rebekah told him. "Auria, Davina and I couldn't help him."
Klaus turned to face them in surprise.
Kassandra looked at her siblings solemnly. "He's not gonna last the night."

Courtyard
Auria was standing alone, pouring champagne glasses.
Klaus, Elijah, Kassandra and Rebekah walked down the steps, toward Auria.
Auria looked up, noticing them, sighing knowingly. "Let me guess. You need help."
"We're too late, Auria," Rebekah told her. "Kol's dying."
Auria sighed deeply, thinking. "Then I think I have a plan."
They looked at Auria curiously.
Auria shrugged, drinking the rest of her glass.

Elsewhere
Noah and Caitlin were standing together.
Caitlin was drinking.
"After everything that happened, and you still wanna drink?" Noah asked.
"I wanna drink because of everything that happened," Caitlin told him. "There's a difference."
Noah smiled.
They saw Klaus, Elijah, Kassandra, Rebekah and Auria walk toward the door.
"Who's the girl?" Noah asked.
"Rebekah," Caitlin answered. She realized why they were leaving. "Which means Kol's dying." She looked at Noah, handing him her glass. "I have to go. Davina needs me."
Noah nodded in understanding.
Caitlin walked out, leaving.
Noah watched her go.

(Song:) More Than You Know - Billie Holiday & Teddy Wilson and his Orchestra
Kaleb/Kol and Davina were slow dancing outside Kol's playhouse to the sound of an old-fashioned song on the gramophone player. Both of their eyes were red and rimmed with tears as the cried into each others' shoulders. They pulled away.
"I know that we're in a cemetery, and I happen to be terminal..." Kaleb/Kol trailed off, chuckling through the tears. "But you've got to admit, the stars are lovely."
Davina shook her head tearfully. "How can you joke right now?"
"I'm not," Kaleb/Kol told her. "We're under the same stars. It's some guy, and he's with his girl, and he thinks he's got all the time in the world, and he's right." He chuckled. Davina started to cry harder. Kaleb/Kol leaned his forehead against hers. "And I hate him."
Kaleb/Kol doubled over in a coughing fit.
Davina was panicked and in denial, horrified, terrified of losing him, lifting his head so she could look at him. "Are you okay?"
Kaleb/Kol forced himself to smile. "Yeah." Davina took his hand in hers, kissing it. "I think I want to be alone for this bit."
Kaleb/Kol coughed, walking away from Davina, toward one of the tombs.
Klaus, Elijah, Kassandra and Rebekah walked toward Kaleb/Kol.
"I'm afraid that's not an option," Elijah told him.
Auria and Caitlin joined Davina from either side.
Kaleb/Kol turned to face his siblings.
"'Always and forever' is not something that you just weasel out of, brother," Kassandra told him.
Kaleb/Kol looked at his siblings in surprise, managing a weak smile.

Abattoir Compound - Balcony
Jackson was standing on the terrace overlooking the French Quarter from Mikayla's bedroom.
Mikayla walked out to join him. "Everybody's headed home." She smiled shyly. "Now what?"
Jackson turned to face her. "Ah, wedding night. The best night of my life."
Mikayla and Jackson smiled.
Mikayla took a moment to speak, looking as if she was trying to find the words to explain how she felt. "Jack... when I told you that the wedding was the right thing to do for our pack, there's something else I should have told you." Jackson looked at her curiously. "I should have told you that... when I first got to New Orleans, I was just looking for my family when the witches attacked me in the Quarter. And I killed one in defense, triggering my curse, and forced to stay a wolf for an entire month before you found and and you explained everything to me. I was confused, I was terrified, and for a long time, basically alone. And then, one night, you appeared to me, and I knew that I was safe. From the moment I saw you, I... I knew I could trust you. You never made me feel ashamed about being a hybrid, or questioned why I had to lie to you about Hope."
"Well, I told you," Jackson told her. "I love you, Mikayla. I meant it."
Mikayla nodded. "Yeah... and that's the first time that anyone's said that to me. I want you to know that I didn't marry you for all those people. I married you for me. Because I love you. And that's the first time I've said that to anyone. I love you, Jackson. I think I always have. And I always will."
Jackson and Mikayla looked at each other, smiling, kissing slowly and passionately.

Lafayette Cemetery - Kol's Playhouse
Klaus, Kassandra, Elijah and Rebekah were kneeling next to Kaleb/Kol, surrounded by candles.
Davina and Caitlin were kneeling on the other side of him.
Caitlin was holding Davina comfortingly while her best friend cried in her arms.
Auria was sitting a few feet away from them, whispering a spell over a necklace, gripping it in her hands.
Kaleb/Kol's nose and mouth were both bleeding. He groaned in pain. "All my life, all I ever wanted was for you lot to care about me."
Klaus was struggling to hold back his tears.
Kaleb/Kol chuckled weakly, overcome by another coughing fit.
Kassandra sat down, rubbing Kaleb/Kol's back, leaning him back, holding his head in her lap.
Kaleb/Kol took Kassandra's hand, moaning in pain.
"Kol, listen to me," Rebekah told him. "You don't have long. You're going to die." Kaleb/Kol could no longer hold back tears, holding Kassandra's arm tighter. "But you will die a witch, and we will consecrate your body. You will join the Ancestors of the French Quarter, and those spirits can be brought back." Rebekah started to cry. "And, I promise you, brother, I will not leave this body until I find a way to bring you home."
Kaleb/Kol smiled despite his pain, quickly beginning to cough even harder.
Auria looked up. "I tried a different spell."
Auria handed the necklace to Kaleb/Kol.
Kaleb/Kol took Davina's hand. "It's okay. I"m not scared."
Davina tried her best to smile through her tears.
Klaus and Elijah looked at each other, both fighting their emotions.
Kaleb/Kol managed one last laugh before he died in Kassandra's arms.
Kassandra started to cry silently in devastation, not making a sound.
Davina broke down into sobs.
Auria and Caitlin embraced Davina from either side, holding her.
Elijah and Klaus started to cry silently, not making a sound.

Morgue
Vincent/Finn, finally healed completely, gingerly sat up on the autopsy table with Freya's help, sighing in relief. "What did you do?"
"It took a while, but I healed you," Freya answered. "Brought you back from death, using this."
Freya pointed to her blue pendant talisman in Vincent/Finn's hands.
Vincent/Finn examined the necklace. "Your pendant." He laughed in wonder. "You said it would protect me."
"It's a talisman used to focus my power," Freya told him. "I knew it would be dangerous to face Elijah. I didn't want you to be hurt."
"Just like when we were children," Vincent/Finn told her, standing, groaning slightly, visibly sore after his resurrection in this body. "I seem to recall you were always defending me."
Freya took his hand. "You're my brother, Finn. I love you. And we'll need to protect each other. If Dahlia has sensed Klaus' child, she's already on her way."
"Auria Rayvnne used great magic to cloak the baby from my mother," Vincent/Finn told her. "It's going to take a bit of time before Dahlia finds her."
"You don't understand," Freya told him. "Esther was nothing compared to Dahlia. Auria Rayvnne is strong, yes, but Dahlia is far stronger. I was taken when I was only five years old. I had just started to display a potential for magic. It is the magic that will draw Dahlia. It will serve as a beacon, calling her."
