From 1.01 "Pilot", in the streets, Barry/Flash was zooming through the streets.
Barry: (voice over) "My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. I am the Flash."
Vera/Pyra was using fire to fly through the sky.
Vera: (voice over) "I'm Vera Mitchell, and I am Pyra."
Aurora/Glacia stood in an abandoned street, kneeling to the ground, touching the cement, using the contact to build a smooth wall of ice over the ground.
Aurora: (voice over) "I'm Aurora Swan. You can call me Glacia."
Logan/Guardian was keeping a falling bridge together to save everyone on it.
Logan: (voice over) "My name is Logan Hemmings, and I am the strongest man alive. They call me Guardian."
Barry/Vera/Aurora/Logan: (voice over) "Central City is a city of heroes."
⚡⚡
From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in the Cortex, the team was talking.
Cisco: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (The Flash)"
"All of us want to make a difference, okay?" Logan asked. "Wee just know when we need help, and not go off on our own. When one of us needs the others, we will be there."
From 1.04 "Going Rogue", in the museum, Vera/Pyra and Aurora/Glacia stood together, using long streams of fire and ice to use as a shield against the cold ray gun, pushing the cold ray and Snart back, the force of it enough to make Snart fall to the floor.
Logan: (voice over from 1.02 Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire) "When one of us needs the others, we will be there."
From 1.01 "Pilot", in the street, the car nearly fell onto Emma after the explosion. Logan arrived, running in front of Emma, using his super strength to catch the car before it fell onto them.
Vera: (voice over from 1.02 Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire) "This is what we talked about."
From 1.01 "Pilot", outside the barn, Barry/Flash zoomed around the tornado in the opposite direction. The tornado unraveled due to Barry's speed, making it dissipate in an explosion.
Vera: (voice over from 1.02 Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire) "Us using our powers to do good."
From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in the Cortex, the team was talking.
"We talked about you four helping contain metahumans," Caitlin told them.
From 1.04 "Going Rogue", in the CCPD, Barry, Emma and Iris were talking.
"After all these journalism classes, I started a blog," Iris told them.
From 1.04 "Going Rogue", in Jitters, Emma, Logan and Iris were talking.
Emma looked at Iris, nodding sarcastically. "Logan's very humble."
Later, Iris looked at Emma. "You're so wrapped up in work that you wouldn't even know if you liked the guy or not."
From 1.04 "Going Rogue", in Jitters, Logan and Emma were sitting together.
"I wanted to say something for a while, but I was worried that it would change everything," Logan admitted.
"Well, it will," Emma told him. "But it doesn't mean that it has to be a bad thing. It might actually be a good thing. We could take things slow."
From 1.03 "Things You Can't Outrun", in the time vault, Wells was watching footage of Logan being crushed down while using his strength to save the others, Aurora being frozen in the pipeline, Barry getting struck by lightning in his lab, and Vera burning alive in her loft. "Vera... Barry... see you soon."

Day One
Night - Bar
(Song:) Rock the Ride - The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
People were having fun at the bar, drinking and talking.
Caitlin: (voice over) "How often do you think about why your friends came into your life?"
Even the team was there, having fun.
Aurora: (voice over) "Was it random, by design, or maybe a little of both?"
Emma and Iris were playing darts. Emma threw a perfect shot. Both sisters smiled and laughed. Logan, Barry and Cisco were sitting at the bar, drinking. Caitlin, Aurora and Vera were playing pool.
Logan: (voice over) "Regardless of the reason, some friends, you just know, are gonna be by your side for a while."
Eddie walked toward Iris so the couple could smile, kiss and embrace.
Barry: (voice over) "Others, you're not so sure."
Vera was spinning around her pool stick idly as she waited for her turn.
Vera: (voice over) "And then there's of you that are like me. The one that still has yet to get used to all of these friend outings and all of that."
Emma turned to Logan, smiling. "I'm glad that Barry and I invited you, and Cisco, Caitlin, Aurora and Vera."
Logan smiled. "Me, too, Emma. You know, still getting used to the big friend gatherings."
"Logan, you're starting to sound like Vera," Emma pointed out.
Logan laughed. "No, Vera probably doesn't like the whole gathering outings as much as I do."
They both smiled.
"You know, the last couple of weeks, hanging out with you, as more than just the friends we've been..." Emma trailed off, smiling, tilting her head. "It's been pretty awesome. I mean, we've always been close friends, but being something more... it's amazing."
Logan nodded in agreement. "Something that you didn't know that you needed. Yeah, I get the feeling, Emma. I'm proud to say that I feel the same way."
Emma raised her shot. "To friends, either as just friends, or more than friends, old or new."
Logan and Emma clinked their shots, drinking them, looking at each other, smiling.
Iris walked up to Eddie. "Ooh. I'm up. Wish me luck. I am going to destroy you."
"Don't get cocky, West," Eddie told her.
Iris smiled, taking the darts and getting ready to shoot.
Logan and Emma walked toward where Vera, Aurora, Caitlin and Cisco were sitting at their table, sitting down with them.
"Guys?" Vera asked. "I have a problem."
Cisco was eyeing Eddie. "We all do when guys like him exist, Vera."
"Yeah, he's so hot," Caitlin told them. The others looked at her in surprise and amusement. "Uh, I mean, genetically speaking. Because I'm a geneticist, of course. Oh, my God. Aurora, do I sound like Felicity?"
"Yeah," Aurora answered, smiling in amusement. "Yeah, Caitlin, you do. Big time."
"I'm not talking about Eddie," Vera told them. "I'm talking about this." She took several shots of alcohol. "I can't feel anything."
The others were amused and knowing what she was talking about and why it was happening, but they were teasing her, pretending that they didn't.
"Yeah, that's usually what happens when you drink too much," Cisco told her.
"No, the alcohol is not affecting me," Vera told them. "I mean, I literally feel nothing."
"Vera, you didn't feel anything before the particle accelerator exploded," Aurora told her. "Before you got affected by the dark matter. Well, at least, you didn't want to feel anything."
Vera gave them a look. "Are you guys screwing with me?"
Logan, Emma, Barry, Aurora, Caitlin and Cisco smiled, chuckling in amusement, always loving to tease Vera.
"It's your hypermetabolism," Barry explained. "Don't worry. Logan, Aurora and I can't get drunk either."
"I'll get more shots," Cisco told them, walking toward the bar.
Caitlin looked through her purse. "I swear I had a Vacutainer."
"Wait," Vera told her. "You carry a blood-collection kit in your purse?"
Caitlin shrugged. "You have your hobbies..."
Vera looked at Barry, Aurora, Logan and Emma in confusion, who all smiled, shaking their heads.

Office Building - Outside
A man was standing on a platform for window washing, washing the windows.
⚡
Inside - Hallway
A security guard walked through the hallway, speaking through a radio on his uniform. "14th floor is secure." He continued on, whistling. A woman with red hair was in the dark, looking for a file. The guard walked down the hall, seeing that the file room door had a hole in it like it had been burned open. "Hold off on that check." He drew his gun. The woman burst out of the file room, hitting him with the door, making him fall to the floor, running down the hall. "Lock down the building!" The guard aimed his gun at the woman, standing. "Hold it!"
"Don't come near me," the woman warned.
The guard walked toward her. "You need to come with me. Come on."
The woman dropped her backpack, that seemed to be glowing purple, to the floor, running away. "Get down!"
The backpack blew up, causing the window washing platform outside to lose a wiring, making it angle, and the window washer outside have to hold on for dear life so he wouldn't fall to his death.
⚡
Bar
The team was sitting at their table, taking shots.
Barry chuckled, shaking his head. "Still nothing. I can't get drunk."
"Neither can I," Logan told them.
"Or me," Aurora told them.
"We already know Vera can't get drunk anymore either," Logan told them.
Vera sighed in disappointment. "I'm only 25, and my drinking days are already over."
"I feel so bad for you guys," Cisco told them.
Eddie walked closer, looking at Barry. "Come on, Allen. You're up." His phone vibrated. He pulled it out. "There was a bombing on Eighth and Pass." He looked at Iris. "I gotta go, babe."
"Okay," Iris told him, kissing Eddie bye.
"Sorry, guys," Eddie told them, walking out, leaving.
"I've got an early shift at Jitters," Iris told them.
Emma faked a yawn. "I'm beat."
"We'll catch up tomorrow," Iris told them. "Great."
"It's getting late anyway, so I'm just gonna..." Barry trailed off.
Iris walked away.
Cisco, Caitlin and Emma looked at Barry, Vera, Aurora and Logan, who exchanged a look, standing.

Vera / Pyra:
Logan / Guardian:
Aurora / Glacia:
Office Building
Vera/Pyra used fire to fly to the building, seeing the window washer dangling from the landing. Logan/Guardian, Barry/Flash and Aurora/Glacia were down below. Iris ran up through the crowd, smiling at the sight of the heroes together.
"Help!" the window washer called, terrified. "Somebody!"
Barry smiled because he knew that Vera had this taken care of. "Get him, Vera."
Vera/Pyra used fire to fly closer instantly, catching the window washer from falling. The cable holding the window platform broke, making it fall back toward them. Vera used fire to fly out of the way instantly with the window washer still in hand.
The landing fell right toward a group of people.
Aurora started to use ice to bring the people away, while Barry was using super speed to get them away. "Logan..."
Logan/Guardian was able to catch the landing before it hit anyone, saving their lives, tossing the platform down. "Got it."
Vera flew toward the ground with the window washer, putting him down. The window washer looked up, shaken but relieved.
Barry, Aurora, Vera and Logan exchanged a look of relief, making their getaway. Iris watched them go, smiling.

Day Two
Morning - Office Building
Vera was standing inside the hallway where the bomb went off. Other fire officials and police were also there. Joe walked toward Vera.
Barry walked in. "Vera, what are you--"
"Fire expert, remember?" Vera asked. "IED specialist? Not just in a metahuman way." Barry nodded in remembrance. "I can figure out what kind of bomb it is, and where it came from, and..."
"Who it was set by," Joe finished. He looked at Barry. "It might be your first time working with Vera here when it comes to fire or explosives, but I've worked with her on a case like this from time to time." Vera nodded in agreement. Joe looked at Vera. "What have you got?"
"Bombers typically have their own unique signatures," Vera explained. "Crimped wires, fragmentation, the level of sophistication is telling once I've analyzed it. You show me a bomb, I can find a clue in it."
"Sounds like there's a 'but' coming," Barry told her.
"Yeah," Vera answered. "I haven't found any sign of an oxidizing agent. It's as if the floor just blew itself up."
"Things don't just blow up," Joe told them.
Eddie walked closer. "Security guard said our bomber was a woman with red hair. Also cut the security cameras. There's no footage. But there might be something else."
Eddie nodded for Barry and Joe to follow him, walking away.
Vera nodded to Barry and Joe. "Go. I still gotta analyze."
Barry and Joe nodded, walking away.
Eddie led Barry and Joe along. "Some kind of small charge blasted the doorknob off."
"Any idea what's missing?" Joe asked.
"My guess is one of these files," Eddie answered. "It's gonna take days to figure out which one."
Joe nodded knowingly. "Let's let Barry do his thing."
Joe led Eddie away. Once Barry was alone, Barry used his superspeed to go through all the files to find out what was missing, pulling out the file, sighing.
⚡
Central City Police Department
Joe and Eddie walked in, seeing army all around the station, looking at a nearby cop.
"What's going on?" Eddie asked.
"I have no idea," the cop told them. "But they came in here like they own the place. Been talking to Singh for the last half hour."
Joe looked around. "This can't be good."
David walked out of his office, leading a general toward Eddie and Joe. "General Eiling, this is Detective West."
Eiling shook Joe's hand. "Detective."
"What's this all about?" Joe asked.
"The army's taking over the bombing investigation," David answered.
Eiling nodded. "I'll need everything you have. Physical evidence, photographs, witness interviews, and all your personal notes."
Joe frowned in confusion. "I've been on the job nearly 20 years and never heard of the army investigating anything civilian."
"Well, it's not civilian," Eiling told him. "She's one of ours."
Joe nodded. "We'll send over everything we got."
"Very kind of you," Eiling told him. "I think we'll take it now, though."
Joe looked at David for confirmation.
David nodded. "Give them what they want, Joe."
Eiling smirked. "You heard him, Joe. Give me what I want."
Joe looked slightly suspicious, nodding, walking away. Eddie followed.
Barry walked into the station with a box, seeing that Joe was standing with army. "Hey, what's going on?"
"General Eiling is relieving us from the bombing case," Joe answered. "Give these men everything that's relevant."
Barry nodded in understanding, handing the box to an army man. "Sure thing, yeah."
Barry used his superspeed to swipe the case file from the box without the army noticing.
Joe smirked a little. "You and a few civilians from STAR Labs might want to check into that."
Barry nodded in agreement. "I think we might."
Barry walked away.
A cop walked closer. "Can I talk to you for a minute, Joe? It's about Iris."
⚡
West House - Living Room
Iris, Emma and Joe were talking.
"Hey, Dad," Iris told him. "Hey, Emma. You're both home early."
"What were you doing at the bomb site last night?" Emma asked.
"Don't deny you were there," Joe told her. "Officer Vukuvich saw you."'
Iris sighed, pacing. "It's... complicated."
"You can't be coming to every crime scene because you're worried about Eddie," Emma told her. "He's a big boy, Iris."
"I didn't go there to see Eddie, Emma," Iris told her. "I went there to see the heroes."
Emma looked away because she didn't like having to lie to Iris about who they were, turning to give Joe a look because he was the one keeping Emma from telling Iris the truth.
Joe sighed, putting his bag down. "Hmm, why is that?"
"My blog," Iris answered. "I've been collecting Internet posts about sightings of them, and writing about them. I saw them last night, Dad. I looked right at them. Something incredible is happening in Central City. And I am gonna write about it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get to work. And so do you, Emma. You might have a fancy job at STAR Labs, but since the explosion, that's been a lot harder on the paychecks. And blogging about supernatural events doesn't really pay well."
Iris walked out of the house to go to work. Joe and Emma exchanged a worried look.
"I wish we could just tell her, Dad," Emma admitted.
"Emma, you promised me that you wouldn't, so that we can protect her," Joe reminded her. "I'm gonna hold you to that promise."
Emma sighed, rolling her eyes, walking toward the door. "Well, Iris was right about one thing. About my job. About work. I gotta go."
Joe stood. "Emma."
Emma walked out of the house to go to work.
⚡
STAR Labs - Cortex
The team was all in the Cortex.
"A VA file number is all the info you have on the bomber?" Cisco asked.
"CCPD's been ordered off the case," Barry explained.
"Well, who has the power to do that?" Caitlin asked.
"The army," Barry answered. "Yeah, some general. His name was Eiling, I think."
Wells rolled closer. "General Wade Eiling."
"You know him?" Vera asked.
"Yeah, I know him," Wells answered. "About 10 years ago, General Wade Eiling contracted STAR Labs to develop enhanced gene therapies for soldiers. I was interested in the medical benefits for civilians. General Eiling really wanted to develop mind-reading capabilities, for interrogation purposes. I ended the study when I saw his techniques, but our split was less than amicable."
"He took the evidence Vera and Barry collected on the bombing," Logan explained, handing the folder to Wells. "Everything but the folder."
Vera tilted her head, raising her hand slightly. "Uh, the army took all of the evidence the CCPD collected." They looked at her. "They didn't collect the evidence collected by the fire department. And more importantly at the moment, they didn't collect the evidence collected by me."
Cisco smiled. "So being regular Vera Mitchell is paying off, isn't it? And you are so hard on yourself why?"
"Shut up, Cisco," Vera told him.
Cisco smiled.
Emma pulled up the evidence that Vera had collected from the crime scene on the computer screens. "Our girl's name is Bette Sans Souci. An EOD specialist for the army."
"EOD?" Caitlin repeated.
"Bombs," Logan answered. "Emma, is there an address?"
"Hold on," Emma told them, typing. "Here we go. One person in case of emergency. Cameron Scott, Anglewood."
"Vera, do you know what kind of bomb she used?" Aurora asked.
"She didn't," Vera answered. "There was no trace of bomb, acid, wires, anything. It was just like it spontaneously combusted."
"So, what do you think?" Barry asked. "She's a metahuman?"
Aurora nodded. "That's what I'm banking on. Yeah. And if her power is being a bomb..."
"Vera's the only one who has a chance against her if she wants a fight," Logan finished. "She's immune to fire. Therefore bombs. Since bombs are fires. Well, exploding fire."
Cisco smiled. "Looks like Vera's met her match. Go, Vera. Go."
⚡
Alley
Barry/Flash zoomed himself and Logan/Guardian up to Bette as she was making her way to an alley.
"Bette San Souci?' Logan asked.
Bette turned to run away.
Vera/Pyra used fire to fly herself and Aurora/Glacia down toward them, stopping Bette from running.
"We need you to come with us," Aurora told her.
"Don't touch me, please," Bette told them desperately, accidentally touching Aurora's symbol on her suit. "Get whatever you're wearing off of you. Hurry."
Vera realized that the glowing purple on Aurora's suit was going to explode, using fire to burn Aurora's suit away before Aurora could be killed in an explosion that Vera used her fire to send the explosion up into the air. Barry, Logan, Vera and Aurora watched the explosion in shock, turning to see that Bette had used the explosion as a distraction to get away.
⚡ ⚡
Cortex
Cisco was trying to talk to them through comms. "Barry? Vera, can you hear me? Aurora, what's going on? Logan?"
Caitlin and Emma were worried.
"There must be a perfectly reasonable explanation for why they're not answering," Caitlin told them. "Vera? Aurora? Barry? Logan?" They walked in, in their normal clothes. Caitlin frowned in confusion. "Uh..."
"Don't ask," Logan told them.
"I'm gonna ask," Cisco told them. "Aurora, where's my suit?"
Aurora sighed, looking down. "It's gone."
Cisco gave her a look. "What do you mean, it's gone? What did you do with my suit?"
"It blew up, Cisco," Aurora answered. "Vera managed to get me out of it before it went 'kaboom'."
"My suit went 'kaboom'?" Cisco asked skeptically.
"Fun fact about Bette Sans Souci," Aurora told them. "She's not carrying bombs. She touched the emblem on the suit and turned it into a bomb. Vera was right, about all of it. She's a metahuman."
Wells rolled closer. "With the ability to cause spontaneous combustion upon tactile contact."
Cisco put his hands on hips. "She blew up my suit."
"You have, like, three more," Caitlin told him. "And that's just for Aurora. Not counting how many you have for Barry. Or Vera. Or Logan."
"Okay, I have two more for each of them," Cisco corrected. "And I loved that one."
"All right, what else do we know about her?" Barry asked.
"Oh, I don't know," Cisco told them sarcastically. "She's pure evil. We're gonna find this girl and send her butt into the pipeline. No one blows my tech to smithereens and gets away with it..." He looked at the picture of Bette on the computer. "Unless she looks like that."
"I don't think she meant to hurt Aurora," Logan told them.
"Well, her being a metahuman explains General Eiling's interest in her," Wells told them.
Joe walked in. "And why he stole the case from us. He didn't want anyone to know what she could do."
Emma nodded to her father. "Dad."
Joe nodded. "Emma. So, human bomb. Must be Tuesday in Central City."
"Yes," Wells agreed. "And General Eiling's not one to give up a potential asset without a fight."
"We have to find her before he does," Logan told them.
"Emma?" Joe asked. "Can I see you for a second?"
Emma nodded, standing.
⚡
Hallway
Joe and Emma walked into the hallway to talk alone.
"When were you planning on telling me that Iris saw your friends?" Joe asked.
Emma sighed. "We're really gonna continue this conversation now, here?"
"Well, you took off from the house before we had the chance to talk about it at home," Joe told her.
Emma shook her head. "It was not planned. She caught them off guard."
"We had a deal," Joe told her. "You keep her in the dark about metahumans, and I don't go Floyd Mayweather on you."
"Okay, Dad, I know," Emma told him.
"And she's writing a blog now," Joe told her.
"And you and I already talked to her about that," Emma told him.
Joe gave her a look. "Talk to her again. And be more convincing."
Emma sighed, nodding. "Okay." Joe gave her a look. "You mean, right now?"
"Yes, I do," Joe answered.
Emma rolled her eyes. "All right."
Emma walked away.

Jitters
(Song:) Runnin Thru My Dreams - Sunny Levine
Emma and Iris were talking at Jitters.
"You've got to stop writing about these guys," Emma told her.
"I saw them, Emma," Iris told her. "Everybody's been seeing them since that day in Starling City, when Glacia and Guardian helped Sapphire, Arrow, Athena, Ruby, Cobra, Viper and all of those other masks stop those guys with superstrength. Okay, these four wear uniforms or something, different colors for each. Red and gold with a blue splash on the belt, red and white, two shades of blue, dark red, blue and white, each with a symbol on their chests, and they all wear masks."
Emma sighed, trying to get her to stop. "I mean, Iris, come on. First of all, if they're all wearing masks, that probably means they don't want people to know who they are."
Iris shook her head. "It doesn't matter who they are. What matters is that people know that they're out there. What is wrong with you? This is important to me. Why can't you be more supportive?"
Emma shrugged. "You haven't even put your name on it. How serious can you be about an anonymous blog?"
Iris scoffed, shaking her head. "Okay, you know what? Our entire lives, Barry couldn't scream loud enough that the impossible existed, and you believed him every time he told us about what happened that night, and now it's actually happening in Central City. I have proof of it, and you don't want to know about it? That doesn't make sense, Emma. So when you're ready to tell me what this whole routine is really about, then we can talk."
Iris walked away.
Emma tried to stop her but let her go, sighing.

STAR Labs - Cortex
Emma was back in the Cortex with the rest of the team, hacking on the computer.
"Emma?" Vera asked. "What do you got?"
"I've piggybacked onto Eiling's surveillance," Emma answered. "According to what they're saying, Miss Sans Souci was just spotted in Anglewood."
"The same neighborhood as Dr. Harold Hadley's office, the military surgeon who performed procedures on her," Caitlin explained. "That's why she was looking for the folder."
Barry looked at Logan, Vera and Aurora. "We gotta get to her before Eiling does."
Logan nodded in agreement. "Okay."
⚡
Dr. Harold Hadley's Office
Harold was sitting at his desk, working. Bette walked in.
Harold looked up in surprise. "Sergeant Sans Souci."
Bette walked closer. "You remember me. Good. Because I remember you, doctor. I remember waking up from a coma. You started cutting me open."
"I was only trying to help ease your condition," Harold told her nervously. "You couldn't control it."
Bette glared at him. "You did this to me. You and Eiling."
Outside, army was pulling up, along with Eiling. Barry/Flash and Logan/Guardian started to take out the army men, without severely hurting them, avoiding being shot.
Vera/Pyra and Aurora/Glacia got inside, just as Bette was shot in the shoulder, and she fell to the floor. They knelt next to her worriedly.
"You okay?" Aurora asked. "We can get you out of here. We can help you understand what happened to you."
"How?" Bette asked.
Vera made her hand turn into a fist of flames to show her. "Because it happened to me, too."
"Both of us," Aurora added. "Please."
A strobe light was thrown in to try to blind them.
Vera grabbed Bette and Aurora, using fire to fly out of the building before the light went off.
Outside, Barry grabbed Logan, zooming away from the building as well.
All of them managed to get away before the gunfire started. Eiling was angry.

STAR Labs - Cortex
Bette was with the team in the Cortex while they were explaining what happened with the particle accelerator explosion, watching it on the screen.
"As the detonation dispersed throughout Central City, a number of people were exposed to a wave of unquantifiable energy," Wells explained. "One of those people was you." Caitlin handed Bette a pair of black gloves. "You were in Central City 10 months ago."
"Uh, I had just returned from Afghanistan," Bette explained, pulling the gloves on. "I was there diffusing roadside bombs and shrapnel ripped through me. I was flown back Stateside. Spent months at the base recuperating. And next thing I know... I became the thing that almost killed me. And Eiling's favorite new lab rat."
"The dark matter must have combined with the bomb particulate inside your body," Caitlin told her.
"I thought Eiling did this to me," Bette told them.
"Eiling is not smart enough to create someone like you," Wells told her. "But clever enough to see your value."
"Do you know of any others who were changed?" Bette asked.
Logan nodded. "There have been a few."
"But no one that looks like you," Cisco told her. Barry and Logan smirked. Vera and Aurora rolled their eyes. Emma put a hand to her head. "I'm sorry. That was inappropriate." Cisco chuckled nervously, returning serious. "Please don't leave."
Aurora gave Cisco a look. "I know how to perform a lobotomy."
Cisco looked at Aurora nervously. Caitlin smiled in amusement.
⚡
Training Room
Bette was sitting inside the training room, while the team was in the adjoining room, examining everything.
"Her cellular structure's unlike anything I've ever seen," Wells told them.
"Her nitrogen levels are off the charts," Caitlin told them. "She's actually a lot like you, Vera."
"Obviously," Logan told them.
"But she can turn things into bombs," Vera told them. "So it's still sort of different."
"You think we can help her?" Barry asked.
"To answer that, we have to understand how she works," Wells told them. "To understand that, we have to study her in action."
Logan smirked. "You want her to blow stuff up. Yes. Now we're talking."
"Not in here," Wells told them. "She's too unstable."
"I know," Logan told them.
"I know you know," Wells told him.
Caitlin and Aurora walked into the training room to make sure Bette was okay, taking her vitals, etc.
"So, this is your life now, huh?" Bette asked. "Testing people like me?"
"Stopping people like you," Caitlin corrected. "It's not what I thought I'd be doing. Actually, aside from Barry, Vera, Aurora and Logan, you're the first metahuman that we've tested."
"Metahuman?" Bette repeated.
"It's just a term," Caitlin told her.
Aurora noticed the shoulder that Bette had gotten shot in before Vera and Aurora had found her. "Oh, my God. Did that happen before Vera and I got to you?" Bette lifted the sleeve of her shirt. "Why didn't you say that you were shot?"
"It just grazed me," Bette answered.
"There's something in there," Aurora told her, using tweezers to pull out a small chip.
"Tracker," Bette realized.
The computer started to beep.
Emma brought up footage of the army in the elevator up here.
Wells looked at Cisco and Emma. "Lock down the pipeline." He looked at Barry, Vera, Aurora and Logan. "Get Bette out of here. I'll take care of Eiling."
⚡
Cortex
Eiling walked in with the army to talk to Wells. "Harrison Wells. How the mighty have fallen."
Wells watched as Eiling's men set out to find Bette. "General."
Eiling looked around. "STAR Labs. This place used to be so important. Tell me, what does one do after such a spectacular, public failure?"
Wells shrugged. "One adapts. One evolves. One becomes intent on reversing one's fortune."
Eiling smirked. "Always the idealist."
Wells crossed his arms over his chest. "What do you want, Wade?"
"Where's my asset?" Eiling asked.
Wells shook his head. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"We tracked her here, Harrison," Eiling told him. "Turn her over to me before you see the rest of your precious palace crumble."
Wells chuckled. "Oh, Wade, Wade, Wade."
Eiling walked past. "We could've changed the world, you and I."
Wells sighed, rolling his eyes.

Ferris Air Landing Strip
The rest of the team had taken Bette to Ferris Air.
Bette picked up a purple Frisbee, throwing it into the air. The Frisbee exploded in the air.
Caitlin looked at the computer. "Four hundred 27 kPa's. Her Trauzl rating is 45. That's the same as any plastique."
Cisco smiled. "Plastique. Ha! Caitlin finally got to name one."
Caitlin tilted her head at Cisco.
Logan showed Cisco a Boomerang. "Didn't really think this one through, did you?"
Vera and Bette walked along.
"You seem to know a lot about bombs and fires," Bette told her.
"Sort of my job," Vera told her.
Bette chuckled. "Mine, too."
"I'm more fire than bomb, obviously," Vera told her.
Bette nodded. "Down-range insurgents started booby-trapping cars. For the rest of my tour, I was terrified to touch another vehicle. Now, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life terrified to touch another human being." She turned to face Vera. "Have they tried to help you?"
"They've helped me learn how to use my powers," Vera answered. "Not reverse them."
"If they could reverse it so you weren't a metahuman, would you?" Bette asked.
Vera sighed, looking toward Barry. "A friend told me I was given my power for a reason. That I was chosen." She looked at Bette. "I don't know if I believe that. But I know that fire chose me. Not just my powers, or my job. My family died in a fire." Bette nodded barely in understanding. "I know that if I was going to get anything, it would be this. But I always wanted to help people. Now I can."
Bette nodded.
Emma's phone went off. She walked away to answer it. "Sorry. Hey, Dad."
Joe was in the station, being sarcastic. "I see your little conversation with Iris was a rousing success. She just posted another story about Barry, Vera, Aurora and Logan."
"Dad, I tried," Emma told him. "I really tried."
"She's got her name on it now, Emma," Joe told her.
"What?" Emma asked worriedly. "Dad--"
"It's my fault," Joe admitted. "I shouldn't have asked you to say anything. I just wanted you to know. Okay, bye."
Joe hung up.
Emma hung up, sighing worriedly, turning to face Logan.
Logan looked at her in concern, confused. "What was that about?"
Emma sighed. "Iris posted about you, Barry, Vera and Aurora again. Logan, she signed her name to it."
Logan understood why she was so worried, shaking his head. "Oh, that's not good."
Emma shook her head in agreement. "No."
"If one of these bad metahumans we're dealing with figures she knows something..." Logan trailed off.
"Then they may target her," Emma finished. "I know." She realized something, walking up to Barry. "Hey, Barry, can I ask you a huge favor?"
Barry looked at her in confusion.

Night - Jitters
After closing, Iris was cleaning the cafe up, hearing someone come in. "Sorry, we're closed." Barry/Flash zoomed inside. Iris looked at him in shock. "Oh, my God, it's you."
Barry vibrated his voice so fast that he could disguise his voice. "Iris West, I hear you've been writing about me and my friends."
⚡ ⚡
Iris slowly walked toward Barry. "I should, um... let me just clean up."
Barry zoomed around to clean everything up. "Meet me on the roof. I'll give you a head start."
Iris smiled, running out to the roof.
⚡
Rooftop
Iris ran out onto the roof.
Barry was sitting on the ledge behind her. "I need you to stop writing about me and my friends."
Iris turned to face him, shaking her head. "There are a lot of people who need people like you guys right now, to know that you're out there. I have so many questions. Where are you from?"
Barry zoomed around behind her, putting distance between them. "I can't say."
Iris turned to face him. "Who are you? Who are they?"
"I can't tell you that, either," Barry told her, zooming up to the ledge again.
Iris turned after him. "How can you do what you do?" Barry didn't answer. Iris sighed. "You're a terrible interview."
Barry zoomed behind her. "There's more to this than you can understand. Just trust me, please. We need you to stop."
"Can you guys stop rescuing people without them even knowing who you are or why you do what you do?" Iris replied.
"We don't do this for the glory," Barry told her.
"So why do you?" Iris asked. Barry zoomed away when she stepped closer, standing several behind her. "Look, I have this friend, and he had something terrible happen to him when he was a kid. His whole life, he's been telling stories about this impossible thing, and people laughed at him, and shrinks analyzed him, and he's been searching for an explanation ever since. And my sister, Emma, she was the only one that believed him for the longest time, but now suddenly, it's like they've both lost their faith, but you and your friends are proof that they weren't crazy." Iris turned to face Barry. "Help me save my friend, and my sister."
Barry backed away. "They're lucky to have you looking out for them."
Barry zoomed away, leaving.

Day Three
Morning - STAR Labs - Cortex
The team was back in the Cortex with Bette, all quiet.
Barry walked in. "Hey. What's wrong? Did Eiling find out you're here?"
"No," Aurora answered. "Caitlin and I were about to give Bette the not-so-good news."
"The shrapnel in your body has merged with you on a cellular level," Caitlin told her.
Bette looked away.
"The technology required to unsplice your DNA..." Logan trailed off. Bette looked at him. "It hasn't been invented yet."
Bette nodded as if she had expected this, tears in her eyes.
Aurora shook her head sympathetically, looking down. "Bette..."
"It's okay," Bette told them. "Roger that. I--I just need a minute. Don't worry." She stood. "I'm pretty sure I can cry without blowing stuff up."
Bette walked out, leaving.
Vera sighed, holding her head.
"What now?" Cisco asked.
"She joins us," Logan told them. "Becomes part of the team."
Caitlin looked at Barry, Vera, Aurora and Logan. "You four have an amazing ability to help people. She makes things explode."
"She's the first metahuman not hell-bent on destroying the city," Barry told them.
"It's too dangerous," Wells told them.
"She's not going in the pipeline," Aurora told them.
"I'm not suggesting she go in," Wells told them. "But were she to remain at STAR Labs, it would put all of us at risk."
"From who?" Logan asked. "Eiling?"
"Eiling is a dangerous man, Logan," Wells told him. "We do not want him as an enemy."
"After the fire, what if you hadn't found me?" Vera asked. "It could've been me. Hunted, on the run, cut off from everything and everyone. You guys saved me."
"And I wanna save her just as bad as you do, Vera," Barry told her. "We all do. I know what you're thinking, but you're wrong. You're not Bette, and no matter how close your powers might be, you're always gonna be Vera. Bette was willing to kill that doctor last night. But you would never be able to do something like that. You're different. So don't think that you can turn into that."
Vera sighed, looking down. "Barry, you're right. We are that close, and I could become something like that."
Vera walked out of the Cortex. The others watched her go worriedly.

Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab
Barry and Emma met up with Joe in Barry's lab.
"Dad," Emma told him. "What are you doing here?"
"Going over the materials in Barry's mom's case," Joe answered. "How's it going with you two?"
Emma sighed. "Stellar. We made friends with a human bomb who we promised we could help, and then we couldn't."
"And we finally diagnosed why Iris is writing about me, Vera, Logan and Aurora," Barry told him. "She's doing it for us, to prove the impossible is possible."
"How do you know that?" Joe asked.
"I may have asked Barry to talk to Iris as the Flash," Emma answered.
"Emma, don't you think Iris would recognize Barry's voice?" Joe asked.
Barry smiled, disguising his voice again. "No, I can do this cool thing with my vocal cords, where I vibrate them so I sound like this." Joe and Emma both laughed. Barry smiled, no longer disguising his voice. "I know. It's cool, it's cool."
Joe smiled. "Whoa. Well, you put that out there now, so, I want to keep her safe."
Emma nodded. "You know the only real way to get her to stop is to tell her the truth."
Joe gave her a look. "Emma, you really want to tell her."
Emma nodded. "Yeah."
"So do I," Barry told them. "We tell her everything."
Emma shook her head, giving Barry a knowing look. "Mm, not everything."
Barry chuckled nervously, realizing that they knew, sighing anxiously. "Is it that obvious?"
Joe nodded. "Not to her."
"But how long have you known for?" Barry asked.
Joe chuckled. "We have watched you be in love with Iris since you were old enough to know what love is, and we've been waiting years for you to tell her, but you haven't."
Barry shook his head. "Guess I was too slow. Now, she's happy and with someone else, so..."
"You can't keep doing this to yourself, Barry," Emma told him. "Maybe it's time to move on."
Barry nodded in agreement.
Joe smiled a little. "And I got to get home."
They embraced. Joe pointed to his throat to indicate Barry's vocal trick, laughing, walking away. Barry and Emma smiled.

STAR Labs - Cortex
Wells rolled into the Cortex to talk to Bette.
"Cisco?" Bette asked. "Caitlin? Vera? Aurora? Logan?"
"They're out and about," Wells told her. "I think our Cisco's developing a little bit of a crush on you."
Bette shrugged. "Not sure I'm prize winning date material anymore."
Wells nodded. "Change is hard. The same accident that changed you put me in this chair. If it hadn't been for Logan, that accident would have killed me, and Emma, and Cisco, and Caitlin."
Bette crossed her arms over her chest. "Sorry. I didn't know."
"I don't share that story with you to garner sympathy," Wells told her. "I tell it to you to illustrate a larger point."
"And what point is that?" Bette asked.
"That I would do anything to get back what I lost," Wells answered. "As would you."
Bette nodded in agreement. "I would. I just don't know how."
Wells rolled closer. "You soldiers, you call yourselves sheep dogs. Am I right?"
Bette nodded. "Happy and normal until someone attacks our flock."
"Every good person who was changed that night, people like you, people like Barry Allen, Vera Mitchell, Aurora Swan, and Logan Hemmings, those people are your flock now, Bette," Wells told her. "And General Eiling will never stop attacking that flock, and he always gets his target, unless you stop him. You know your duty, sergeant. Kill Eiling. One last mission, and then you go home."
Bette nodded, walking away. Wells smirked.
⚡ ⚡
The rest of the team came back to the Cortex.
"Where's Bette?" Vera asked.
"She left," Logan answered.
"What do you mean?" Aurora asked. "Where did she go?"
"She didn't say," Caitlin told them.
"Well, where the hell could she be?" Vera asked.
Barry shook his head. "We don't know."
⚡
Waterfront
Bette was waiting for military cars to drive up to her. The soldiers got out of the vehicles, aiming their guns at Bette. Eiling was leading them.
"I'm ready to give myself up," Bette told them.
"Oh, I highly doubt that," Eiling told her. Bette turned to face them. "You think you can pull one over on me?" Eiling gestured his soldiers forward. "You can't. Stand down, soldier."
⚡
STAR Labs - Cortex
Emma was on the computer, reporting to the rest of the team. "I got back on the military feed. Looks like they've gone to the waterfront to rendezvous with Bette."
"She's turning herself in?" Cisco asked.
Aurora and Logan realized at the same time. "She's not turning herself in."
Aurora, Logan, Barry and Vera exchanged a look, knowing what Bette was going to do, already heading out.
Cisco looked at Caitlin and Emma worriedly. "Please, let them get there in time."
⚡
Waterfront
Eiling still had Bette surrounded with guns aimed at her. "All over the world, people are plotting to destroy our country. To end our lives. Brave American soldiers are gonna die in that fight, but they don't have to. Because of you, we could have victory."
"All I've ever wanted was to make the world a safer place," Bette admitted. She was holding a couple of ping-pong balls, that were glowing with her touch. "And it will be when you're not it." Bette tossed the ping-pong balls toward them, making them explode. Barry/Flash zoomed to get the army members away safely before they were killed. Logan/Guardian was knocking out the soldiers that were trying to fire at them, making them stop before one of them could get shot. Eiling was pretending to be unconscious from the explosions. Bette stepped toward them. Vera/Pyra and Aurora/Glacia landed in front of her from flying with fire. "What are you four doing here?"
"Being a soldier doesn't mean you're a murderer," Logan told her. "I know. I've been a soldier. I'm not a murderer. You don't have to become one now."
Eiling shot Bette in the chest, making her fall to the ground.
Aurora knelt next to Bette worriedly. "I'm sorry. We didn't see him. Bette...I'm sorry."
"Don't be," Bette told them weakly. "It's not your fault. I'm glad you stopped me." She looked behind Aurora and Vera. "Vera! Aurora!"
They turned to see Eiling shooting toward them. Aurora shot out ice shields to make the bullets stop before they could be shot. Barry zoomed closer, taking Eiling and the gun away, taking him far away with the other soldiers.
"We have to get her back to STAR Labs," Logan told them.
"Guys," Bette told them weakly, breathing heavily. "Dr. Wells, he..." She started to fade away. "He...."
Bette faded away completely, dying in front of them.
They breathed heavily in regret, looking down guiltily. Vera was taking it especially hard because she knew that she had a very high chance of becoming someone like her, but she was pretty sure fear and paranoia of what she could become would stop her from becoming it. Barry zoomed closer to see this.
"Vera..." Aurora trailed off. Vera looked up. "I'm so sorry."
Vera shook her head, looking down.
Logan saw that Bette was starting to glow with purple. "Vera. Barry. Aurora."
"What, Logan?" Aurora asked. "What?"
They followed his gaze to Bette.
Logan spoke through comms to the rest of the team. "We have a problem."
"Is Bette okay?" Cisco asked.
"No," Aurora answered. "Eiling killed her."
"She's glowing," Logan told them. "She's gonna detonate."
"Oh, my God," Caitlin told them. "A mass that size... the explosion... it would be--"
"Devastating," Wells finished.
"Vera, you have to get her away from the city," Aurora told her. "There's not a lot of time. But if you fly out, then you're the only one who could survive a blast like this."
"Where the hell is she supposed to go?" Logan asked. "She's not as fast as Barry, and there's nowhere to go."
"There's nowhere to go but up," Barry told them.
Vera looked into the sky, nodding, picking up Bette's body, standing, using fire to fly high in the sky, farthest up that she had ever been, above any skyscraper, above any powerline, above any high bridge, higher than anything, to where she the only thing within miles in either direction. So high that she could see the curve of the earth in the distance.
Barry, Logan and Aurora were watching from the ground in shock and worry, while Emma, Caitlin and Cisco were keeping track of how high Vera was going on the computers, anxious, worried, and shocked. Wells was the only calm one, not in shock.
Up in the air with Vera, Bette's body exploded. The force of the explosion sent Vera hurling back toward the ground, the speed and the force making her entire body be overcome with fire, until the forcing wind passing Vera by was putting the fire out around her.
"She's gonna crash," Cisco told them worriedly. "Barry, Logan, you have to get to Vera now. The fall's making her unable to reform fire or fly, just leaving her in free fall without being able to use fire to save herself from crashing."
"From a fall of that height, from the explosion, if she can't form fire to fly or save herself..." Aurora trailed off worriedly.
"She'll die," Logan finished.
"Pretty sure the only one that can save her is someone with superstrength, Logan," Emma told him.
Logan nodded in understanding. "Barry, we have to get there, now. I can save her."
Barry zoomed himself, Aurora and Logan over to where Vera was falling, able to reach the spot where she would crash. Logan was able to catch Vera before she landed on the ground, his superstrength saving her, placing her down. The four of them were breathing heavily in relief, though they were all upset with what happened to Bette.

STAR Labs - Cortex
The team was watching the news.
Eiling was on the screen, with the headline reading: 'Explosion in Sky'. "Nothing out of the ordinary occurred. The military was simply conducting an inflight weapons test. There is no need for panic or alarm. Central City is safe, I guarantee you."
"He murdered Bette right in front of us," Aurora told them. "There's nothing we can do to him?"
"Powerful men have a way of avoiding consequences," Wells told them.
Caitlin looked at Vera. "You gonna be okay?'
Vera barely nodded. "Yeah."
"At least you got Bette to see reason right before," Aurora told her. "She wasn't too far gone. We still got through to her."
"So maybe there's still hope for me?" Vera finished.
"There's more than hope," Barry answered.
"Vera," Logan told her. Vera looked at him. "Barry and Aurora are right. No matter what you think of yourself, just remember that."
Vera nodded barely, turning around, walking out.

West House - Living Room
Iris was sitting at the table, writing on her laptop, looking up when Barry and Emma walked in. "If you came to do laundry, I already have a load in."
Emma shook her head, walking closer. "Uh, no, we came to talk." They sat down with Iris, sighing. "We were working on something at STAR Labs. Someone I really thought we could help befriend, but they died."
"Emma, I'm really sorry," Iris told her.
"I didn't know her that well, but it still hurts, and as bad as I feel right now, I know how much worse it is to lose someone who's family," Emma told her. "Iris, writing about this stuff, putting your name out there, it's dangerous, so I'm asking you one last time, please stop."
Iris sighed in annoyance. "And I am asking you one last time to tell me what is really going on with you two. Why am I the only one of us who's interested in this?"
Barry sighed heavily, hesitating for a long moment, both of them really wanting to tell her but wanting to protect her at the same time. "I guess, just all this stuff going on with my family, I finally just put it behind me. I'm asking both of you to also."
Iris shook her head. "That may have been how this started, but it's about something more than that for me now. Whoever they are, wherever they come from, I am not stopping until the rest of the world believes in them."
Barry sighed, looking down. "Maybe we shouldn't see each other for a while."
Iris nodded in agreement. "Yeah."
Barry stood, walking away.
Emma looked down sadly.

Night - Bar
(Song:) I Ran - Boga
Vera sat at the bar, looking at the bartender. "Can I get another club soda, please?"
The bartender nodded, walking away to get her drink.
Caitlin, Cisco, Barry, Aurora, Logan and Emma walked closer, sitting down with Vera.
"Hey," Cisco told her.
"Hey," Vera told them. "What are you guys doing here?"
"We thought we should have a toast," Caitlin answered.
Vera sighed, looking away. "Doesn't work on us, remember?"
"Vera Mitchell, you of all people should know that nothing is impossible," Aurora told her, taking four shot glasses out of her purse, holding them toward Logan, Barry and Vera, keeping one for herself. "Caitlin and I distilled a highly fermented potent suspension. It's basically 500 proof."
Barry sniffed at his shot glass. Logan and Vera took theirs.
"We figured if anybody could use a drink tonight..." Logan trailed off, sighing. "It was us. So here's to Bette."
Caitlin, Cisco and Emma picked up three regular shot glasses. Barry and Vera clinked theirs. Emma and Logan clinked theirs.
"Bette," Cisco told them.
They took their shots.
Logan coughed. "Whoa. Oh. That hits you quick."
"Are you buzzed?" Barry asked. "I'm buzzed."
Aurora nodded. "Um, yeah. Yeah, I'm buzzed for sure. Whoa."
Vera looked at her empty shot glass. "Oh, that is good stuff." They chuckled. Vera felt the fire within burn the alcohol away. "And it's gone."
Barry smirked. "What are you talking about? I still feel..."
Aurora, Logan and Barry felt it drift away. "Nothing. No."
Cisco chuckled. "Right."
Caitlin shrugged. "Work in progress."
They continued to drink.
Vera: (voice over) "For a girl who has experienced her fair share of mysteries, one mystery I still can't figure out is why some people come into our lives. Why some people go. And others become apart of you."

"Hey," Iris told him. "There's dinner in the fridge."
"Okay, thanks," Joe told her. "Iris, about your blog--"
"I don't want to talk about it, okay?" Iris asked.
Barry: (voice over) "And others end far too soon."
Iris started to cry.
Logan: (voice over) "Not every friendship is meant to last a lifetime."
Joe walked away.
Aurora: (voice over) "What does last forever is the pain when that person is gone."

Wells was sitting alone when he heard a beeping from the alarm system, looking at the computer to see footage of Eiling riding the elevator up to this floor.
Eiling joined him. "I was wrong about you, Harrison. You're still one step ahead. Impressive for a man without the use of his legs."
Wells shrugged. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about, Wade."
"A girl who can transform ordinary objects into explosives with the touch of her hand," Eiling told him. "Today, I saw a man who can move faster than the blink of an eye. A man with the strength greater than the mind can imagine. A girl of ice. A girl made of fire. Extraordinary. The night your particle accelerator died was the night the impossible was born. I think we should start working together again, Harrison."
Wells shook his head. "I think you should leave."
Eiling crossed his arms. "You know, I can have a squadron of soldiers here in minutes."
Wells snapped his fingers. "You know, I can have an army of press here like that. Believe me, general, I'd be more than happy to testify your involvement in activities that were less than humane. Threaten me again, and I will end you, general. And I am not talking about your career."
Eiling walked toward the elevator. "You know, I figured out your little secret, Wells. Won't be long before the public catches on as well."
Eiling walked into the elevator.

Eiling was talking to Wells alone. "This is everything we've been working to achieve."
Wells closed a file. "We may have the same goals, general, but not the same means."
"I will not have this project end before it even begins," Eiling told him.
Wells turned to face him. "And as long as he's on my premises, I will not have him subjected to that kind of cruelty anymore. We're done." Eiling stepped closer threateningly. "We're done, general. Get out."
Eiling walked out. Wells took off his glasses, watching him go with a glare.
