chapter 2 ⚡ Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire
Outfits in the external link
From 1.01 "Pilot", in the streets, Barry/Flash was zooming through the streets.
Barry: (voice over) "My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. I am the Flash."
Vera/Pyra was using fire to fly through the sky.
Vera: (voice over) "I'm Vera Mitchell, and I am Pyra."
Aurora/Glacia stood in an abandoned street, kneeling to the ground, touching the cement, using the contact to build a smooth wall of ice over the ground.
Aurora: (voice over) "I'm Aurora Swan. You can call me Glacia."
Logan/Guardian was keeping a falling bridge together to save everyone on it.
Logan: (voice over) "My name is Logan Hemmings, and I am the strongest man alive. They call me Guardian."
Barry/Vera/Aurora/Logan: (voice over) "Central City is a city of heroes."
⚡⚡
From 1.01 "Pilot", in Barry's lab, Barry was struck by lightning.
Barry: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (The Flash.)"
Aurora: (voice over from 1.01 Pilot) "You were in a coma."
From 1.01 "Pilot", in Vera's Loft, Vera burned alive.
Vera: (voice over from 1.01 Pilot) "For how long?"
From 1.01 "Pilot", in the Cortex, the team (minus Barry) was talking.
"Nine months," Wells answered.
From 1.01 "Pilot", on the airplane landing strip, Aurora held her hands up for Vera to see, forming ice into her hands. Fog was emanating from them like dry ice.
Logan lifted a steel crate alone with super strength, tossing it down the landing strip, making it land on the ground next to the targets.
Barry zoomed down the landing strip, reaching the other side in less than half a second.
Vera shot fire toward a group of water barrels. The fire was strong and fast, and when it hit the barrel in the middle, it spread over all of them. The fire was so strong that it made water explode out of the barrels. The water evaporated with the fire, making both dissipate into nothing.
Caitlin: (voice over from 1.01 Pilot) "Your muscles should be atrophied, but instead, they're in a state of cellular regeneration."
From 1.01 "Pilot", in the Cortex, the team was talking.
Vera looked up hesitantly. "When I was ten, my family died in a fire. They were all burning. My mom, my dad, my brother, my sister. And I saw this flashing red streak, and a man in yellow inside of it."
Emma looked at her in concern. "When was this?"
"14 years ago," Vera answered. "September 6th."
Barry processed. "Wow. A month and a day later, October 7th... was when my mother was murdered. I was 11. I saw a ball of lightning. Inside the lightning, there was a man. He killed my mom. They arrested my dad."
From 1.01 "Pilot", on the landing strip, Vera, Caitlin and Aurora were talking.
"The explosion that is responsible for the fire and the lightning strike that put you and Barry into comas also killed my fiance," Aurora told her.
From 1.01 "Pilot", in the Cortex, the team was talking.
"So, we weren't the only ones affected by the particle accelerator explosion, are we?" Vera asked.
"We've been searching for other metahumans like yourselves," Wells told them.
"We can inspire people," Aurora told them. "Watching over this city like guardian angels. Making a difference. Saving people."
From 1.01 "Pilot", in the Iron Heights visitation room, Barry and Henry were talking.
"You're not gonna be in here for much longer," Barry told him. "Whoever killed Mom, I think I finally have a way to find them."

Vera / Pyra:
Day One
Morning - Sky / Street
The blue sky was filled with clouds.
Vera / Pyra snuck through the alley behind a street toward her destination. She appreciated the fact that even though the gold outlines on her collar nearly blended in with her skin, most of her skin was covered. The only part that wasn't was from her shoulders to her elbows given the gloves she also wore.
Vera: (voice over) "This is the part where one of us is supposed to do the whole intro thingy. Barry Allen, the fastest man alive, the Flash. Aurora Swan, the girl of ice, Glacia. Logan Hemmings, the strongest man alive, Guardian. And me, Vera Mitchell, the girl on fire, Pyra. But you know all that already. All right, let's get to the good stuff. You see that smoke? Working at the fire station, of course I know that there's a fire on Western and Third in downtown Central City. And guess what? I'm about to find out that I can fly."
⚡
On the Road - Fire Truck
A fire man was driving. "This is Ladder 52. We're still at least two minutes out."
Man: (on radio) "People are gonna die."
The fireman sighed. "I know."
⚡
STAR Labs - Cortex
Barry, Logan, Cisco and Emma were here.
Emma was sitting at the computers, watching Vera's suits coordinates. "Vera? Vera. What are you doing?"
Vera/Pyra got to the burning building, standing on the roof. "Trying to save lives."
"You're at the fire, aren't you?" Barry asked.
Vera didn't get the chance to answer, hearing a woman down below on the ground.
The woman was looking around worriedly in horror. "My daughter. Has anyone seen my daughter?"
Vera jumped down into a hole in the burning building, unable to be harmed by fire lapping everywhere.
⚡
Inside - Hallway
Vera was looking around.
A little girl was in the hallway. "Mom? Mommy?"
A wall of fire was literally trapping the little girl against the wall, but Vera was able to walk through, pick her up and get her out of there.
The little girl ran to her mother's side.
There was only a few other people inside, and Vera was able to get to them and get them out.
⚡
Outside - Rooftop
Vera stood on the roof of the burning building, looking down over the people reuniting with their families in relief and tears of joy that their loved ones were safe.
⚡
STAR Labs - Cortex
Emma, Logan, Barry and Cisco were keeping tabs from the Cortex.
"Good job, girl," Cisco told her.
Caitlin and Aurora walked in, confused.
"What are you doing?" Aurora asked.
Emma quickly hit a button to turn off all the computer monitors, turning to face Caitlin and Aurora in her seat, snacking on a lollipop. "Nothing."
"Who are you surveying?" Aurora asked.
"No one," Barry told them.
"Are you talking to Vera?" Caitlin asked.
"Who?" Cisco asked.
"Vera Mitchell?" Caitlin asked. "Nearly burned alive, in a coma for nine months, woke up and ending up being the fire that nearly killed her last year. Ring a bell?"
"Nope, haven't talked to her," Cisco told them.
Logan and Emma rolled their eyes.
⚡
Burning Building - Hallway
Vera/Pyra was standing in the burning hallway, hesitantly putting her arm through a wall of flames in front of her. The flames didn't burn her. They didn't hurt her or the suit. They were absorbed into her. Like they were making her stronger. She smirked, touching more fire, absorbing it into her, and making the fire disappear, speaking over comms. "Guys. When I touch fire, I can absorb it."
"What?" Barry asked.
"I think it makes me stronger," Vera told them. Caitlin and Aurora gave the others a look for lying to them, and while Aurora was okay with the fact that Vera was helping save lives, she didn't like being lied to, while Caitlin was stern from all sides of the situation. "If I absorb all of it, then the fire will be out before the firemen even get here."
"Vera, it's Caitlin," Caitlin told her.
Vera knew she was about to get into trouble. "Hey, Caitlin." She closed her eyes, sighing. "How's your day?"
"Put the fire out and get back to STAR Labs," Caitlin told her.
Vera sighed. "All right."
Vera was able to put the rest of the fire out by absorbing it, feeling stronger and more exhilarated.
⚡
Rooftop
Vera walked up the stairs to the roof. She stopped walking when she felt really dizzy and really lightheaded, her head aching. She took a moment to recompose. Fire started to leak out of her hands. She frowned in confusion, looking at the fire. The stream became thicker and stronger like a rocket, able to make Vera levitate above the ground. She pulled the fire back into her hands slowly, letting herself back down. She used more fire, more thick and powerful, able to fly a small amount of distance away from the roof, using more fire to go further up into the sky, smiling a small smile, speaking into the comms. "Hey, guys? I think I can fly."
⚡
STAR Labs - Cortex
Vera got back to STAR Labs via flying, back in normal clothes, standing with Aurora, Logan, Emma, Caitlin, Barry and Cisco.
"I work for the fire station," Vera told them.
"Yes, to figure out how they started and how they could have been stopped," Caitlin told her. "Not to stop them from happening. This is different. You could have gotten yourself killed."
Vera frowned. "Really? 'Cause I've found out that I am immune to fire. Because I am fire." She sighed. "This is what we talked about. Us using our powers to do good."
"We talked about you four helping contain people who might have been affected by the particle accelerator explosion," Caitlin told them. "Metahumans. And aside from Clyde Mardon, we haven't found any."
"People in the city still need help," Aurora told them. "And we can help them."
Caitlin looked behind them toward Wells. "Will you please say something?"
"I think what Caitlin is saying, in her own spectacularly angry way, is we're just beginning to understand what your body is capable of, Vera," Wells told her. "We have known Logan and Aurora for years because they have worked here, and we have known Barry for four months since he woke up from his coma. We know what they are capable of, and what they can do. You, we do not. Yes, you may have found two new abilities today while you were out there... expanding your job, but not to sound like a broken record, Miss Mitchell, I do caution restraint."
"Dr. Wells, I doubt restraint is how you got to be the man you are today," Barry told him.
"In a wheelchair and a pariah," Wells told them. "Lack of restraint is what made me these things. Know your limits."
"All right, how about this?" Logan asked. "All of us want to make a difference, okay? So, how about we just know when we need help, and not go off on our own? There are four of us for a reason, all of us with a different power. When one of us needs the others, we will be there."
Barry, Vera and Aurora nodded in agreement.
Barry's phone rang. He pulled it out to answer. "Hey, Joe. Everything okay?"
Joe was at a crime scene in a gun store. "Great. I got a fresh crime scene, a dead body, detectives interviewing witnesses." Barry knew where he was going with this, sighing. "Yellow tape stretched over everything. I'm missing one thing. Can you guess what that is?"
"I'll be right there," Barry told him, hanging up, turning to the others. "My day job beckons."
Barry zoomed out of the Cortex, leaving.
⚡
Gun Store
Barry had come to the crime scene, standing with Eddie, Joe and David.
"Perp made off with a bunch of handguns," Joe told them. "At least six Glock-19s fitted with extra ammunition magazines. Somebody's looking to do a lot of bad."
"Hey, sorry I'm late," Barry told them, taking his gloves, ducking under the tape to get to the body.
"I downloaded surveillance footage off the video camera," Eddie told them, showing them the footage from a tablet.
"Looks like only one perp," David told them.
The man in the ski mask on the footage shot out the camera.
Barry was stepping over footprints on the floor, turning to see the weird looks like he was getting from David, Joe and Eddie. "Footage may only show one, but it was six guys. Look, the tracks. They're all crossing each other. Six sets of footprints. Six guns stolen. We should be looking for a crew." He knelt to the floor to get a closer look. "Huh. Weird. The shoes. Looks like they're all the same size. Men's 10's, I'd guess. Just like you, Captain. Not that you're a suspect, sir."
David and Eddie shook their heads, walking away.
Joe sighed, shaking his head at Barry.
⚡
Central City Police Department
Emma, Joe and Barry were walking together.
"Barry, your ability to multitask is truly remarkable," Joe told him. "The way you can embarrass me, the captain, and yourself, all at the same time." He looked at Emma. "And you, you always able to work at STAR Labs, lie to me, lie to your sister, keep your secrets for months, not just about you, but about Barry, too?"
"Dad, I'm sorry," Emma told him.
"I'm starting to think, 'Dad, I'm sorry', is my actual name, considering how often you say it to me," Joe told her.
"Look, I didn't want to lie to you," Emma told him. "It's just that these secrets aren't mine to tell. And for the record, I'm glad you know. And I wish that I could tell Iris, but all of you have told me no, to keep it from her. Dad, we're all dealing with a lot right now."
"Look, I know you are," Joe told them. "Believe me, I'm dealing with it, too. I've always had a very simple set of beliefs. Gravity makes things fall. Water makes things wet. Until a few weeks ago, I believed the fastest man could run a mile in four minutes. That the strongest man couldn't lift 2 tons. That two girls could not generate fire and ice out of their bodies and minds. And you two sure you haven't said anything to Iris, right?"
"No, we haven't," Barry answered. "We made you a promise. We keep our promises."
"Keep on lying like that," Joe told them. "You're liable to get struck by lightning. Barry, get to the lab. Start processing the evidence from the gun store."
Barry walked upstairs.
Emma looked at Joe. "Am I free to go, or are there things that you still want to talk to me about, degrade me about?" Joe gave her a look, walking over to his desk, nodding for her to follow him. Emma sighed. "Oh, that's not good."
Emma walked toward the desk.
⚡
STAR Labs - Cortex
Cisco led Vera to the computer. "Hey, while you were out there absorbing fire, the sensors in the suit were kicking back weird telemetry. Your vitals spiked for a few seconds."
"Never felt anything better," Vera told him. "Of course, in my life, that puts a limit to a long list of things."
Vera gazed off, remembering
⚡
Flashback 1 - 14 Years Ago
Day - Street
This was clearly after Young Vera was taken from Starling City after the death of her family, and she wound up in Central City.
Young Vera was walking down the sidewalk, backpack over her shoulders, looking behind her as she continued to walk.
A police car pulled up in front of her.
Joe got out of the car.
Young Vera stopped, sighing, knowing she wasn't going to get away.
⚡
Central City Police Department
Joe led Young Vera into the police station.
Captain David Singh walked closer. "Hey, Detective West."
"Captain," Joe told him.
"Did Vera run away again?" David asked. Young Vera wasn't happy, walking away, knowing to go wait in Captain's office, sitting down at the desk. "I'm going to take that as a yes."
"I'll take care of this," Joe told him, walking away.
David nodded.
⚡
David's Office
Joe walked in, walking closer to Young Vera. "Hey, Vera. You wanna tell me why you ran away again?"
"I don't wanna be with those people," Young Vera told him. "They're not my family. I want my real family."
Joe leaned against the desk in front of her to look her in the eye sympathetically. "Your family's gone, Vera. I'm sorry."
"They were killed," Young Vera told him.
"They were not killed," Joe told her. "They died in a fire."
"But I saw somebody," Young Vera told him.
"Yeah, I know," Joe told her. "We've gone through this already."
"Then why don't you believe me?" Young Vera asked.
"Because what you saw is just your mind helping a ten year old girl deal with what really happened that night," Joe told her. "How about I take you back home?"
"That's not my home," Young Vera told him. "They're not my family. I don't wanna go there."
"Then you'll have to go to someone else," Joe told her.
"I don't wanna go anywhere else," Young Vera told him.
"You have to," Joe told her. "How else are you gonna grow up and move on from this?"
"You can't make me go back there, and you can't make me go anywhere else," Young Vera told him.
"And how are you going to grow up and make your own decisions if you don't stop fighting back?" Joe asked. "I'm sorry, but it's the law. If you don't want to go back home, I will find you a new one to go to. One without any siblings that you can't fight with, to where you'll be the only kid there. You'll be alone. That's what you want, isn't it?"
Young Vera was angry. "I hate you. I hate this. I hate everything."
⚡
Now
Day - Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab
Barry was working, sitting at his desk, analyzing the crime scene evidence, growing impatient.
Emma walked in. "Dad's mad." She noticed that Barry was impatient. "What's wrong?"
"Machine's not working," Barry answered, taking out a vial, using his super speed to mix the vial, chuckling.
Emma smirked in amusement, looking around. "Pretty slick there."
Barry smiled, putting the vial down, pulling off his gloves.
Iris walked in. "This is all your fault, Emma. I could've taken European Folklore to cover my sociology requirement, but no. You said, 'Take Journalism, Iris. Reporters have all of the fun'. Guess what, Emma? Reporters have none of the fun. Journalism is boring. I'm bored. I blame you."
"Sorry, Iris," Emma told her. She was confused by the fancy dress she was wearing. "You look really nice."
"Thanks," Iris told them. "Why don't you look nice?" Barry and Emma were both confused. "This afternoon? Suit and tie, nice dress? The university is giving..."
Barry realized the same time Emma did. "Simon Stagg."
"Some award," Iris told them. "You agreed--"
"To explain the science in your article," Barry finished. "It's all coming back to me now."
"How fast can you get home and change?" Iris asked.
"Uh, pretty fast," Barry answered.
Emma smirked at the inside joke, though she clearly felt guilty about hiding the secret from Iris.
Eddie walked in. "Hey, Barry, Joe asked me to see where you're at on the evidence from the gun store shooting. Oh, hey, Emma. Iris."
Iris nodded. "Detective."
Emma noticed that Iris and Eddie were trying not to look at each other. "Please, guys, uh, just kiss already. We already know, remember?"
Barry and Emma turned away.
Eddie and Iris smiled, kissing.
"Oh, thanks for being so cool about this, Emma," Eddie told her. Emma nodded. "I know it's not keeping a big secret from your family."
Emma sighed, turning away. "I'm getting used to it."
⚡
Stagg Industries
Everyone at the award ceremony was dressed nicely, including Iris, Barry and Emma.
Simon Stagg stood in front of everyone. "I find it quite remarkable, having once been a timid freshman at Central City University to be standing before you, the Regents choice for Man of the Year. While I very much appreciate the award, the real honor is for me knowing that my work in organ transference helps give people a second chance at life. Thank you all very much for coming."
Everyone applauded.
Emma looked at Iris. "Okay, all right, first things first. Simon Stagg's work in cellular cloning has led to huge advancements in organ replacement."
Iris saw a tray of champagne, grabbing three glasses for them. "Are journalists allowed to drink on the job?"
"If you are bored already, just wait until we get to the science behind cellular regeneration," Barry told her.
Iris smiled, linking her arms with both of them. "I have missed this. I feel like we haven't spent enough time together lately."
"Yeah, we've had a crazy few weeks," Barry told her. "I know."
"I thought maybe you'd been avoiding me because of Eddie," Iris told them. "I know you think it's wrong, me dating my dad's partner, and--"
"No, that is not it," Barry told her. "At all."
Iris looked behind them toward Simon. "Oh. Oh, Mr. Stagg, I was wondering if I could get a quote from you for my article."
"Not now, miss," Stagg's bodyguard told her, leading Simon way.
Iris sighed, turning to Barry and Emma. "I'll just make something up. So, what were you gonna tell me? You were about to say something."
Before they could answer, they heard gunshots firing out through the ceremony, making everyone reflexively duck to the floor.
Six men were behind the shootout.
"Quiet down, all of you," Man 1 told them.
Iris was terrified. "Oh, my God."
"Quiet," Man 1 told them. "How considerate. You're all wearing your finest jewelry. Almost like you were we were coming to rob you. Now everybody line up."
Everyone lined up. Women put their jewelry into bags held by the men.
Barry stepped out of line to do something about it.
Iris grabbed his arm to stop him. "Don't."
A guard walked closer, aiming a gun. "Freeze." The six men all turned on the guard, aiming their guns. "Drop your weapons."
Emma whispered, pulling Iris away, turning her away so she wouldn't see what he would do. "Barry..."
The men fired.
Barry zoomed toward the guard to move him before he could get shot by six bullets, putting him outside.
⚡
Outside
The men ran outside toward the van.
Barry zoomed outside, seeing that they were getting away, about to go after them, when Iris ran outside.
"Barry?" Iris asked.
Emma ran outside to stop Iris from seeing what Barry could do. "Iris, stop."
Barry couldn't go after the men with Iris right there without exposing his secret, sighing.
⚡
STAR Labs - Corridor
Vera walked down the hallway. She felt a little dizzy and lightheaded, holding a hand to the wall to stay standing, taking her hand away from the wall, seeing that there was a singed handprint where her hand had been. Thinking that she was over the second dizzy spell, she started to walk forward when it hit back two times worse so intense and sudden that she fainted, falling to the floor.
⚡ Worlds Colliding (The Flash) ⚡
Stagg Industries
Emma, Barry and Iris stood next to Joe and Eddie.
"Hi," Iris told them.
"Iris," Eddie told her.
"Where were you?" Joe asked.
"Dad, go easy," Emma told him. "He went after them to try and get the plates, but they got away."
They saw the guard nearby. "I thought I was dead. I saw the guns go off, and the boom. Suddenly, I'm outside. I have no idea how I got there."
Joe gestured to Barry and Emma. "Let me talk to you for a second."
Joe, Emma and Barry walked away.
Emma sighed. "Yeah?"
"Barry, you chased those gunmen?" Joe asked.
"They must be the same guys that knocked over the gun shop," Barry told them.
"What we were going to do when you caught them, huh?" Joe asked. "Ask them nicely to pull over. You're not bulletproof. Wait, are you?"
"No," Barry answered.
"Okay," Joe told him. "No more heroics. Chasing bad guys is not your job. It's mine. You're not a cop."
Emma rolled her eyes. "The same thing that you keep telling me and Iris. Only because you wouldn't let us. We had to find another way to help people."
⚡
STAR Labs - Med Bay
Vera woke up in the med bay on a bed. Cisco, Caitlin, Aurora and Logan were checking on her.
"Vera?" Cisco asked. "Vera? You okay?"
Vera started to sit up. "Yeah. Yeah, no, I'm good."
"Uh, no, you are so not good," Aurora told her. "Your body temperature is in the 250's, Vera. None of us, and none of our equipment, can touch you without literally getting burned, melted or destroyed, so we can't figure out what's wrong with you yet."
"You lied to us," Caitlin told her. "How could you not tell us you're experiencing dizzy spells? We're your doctors. God knows what's going on inside your body."
"Your cells are in a constant state of flux," Aurora told her. "You could be experiencing cardiopulmonary failure, or a transient ischemic attack."
"Mini-stroke?" Vera asked skeptically. "I don't think so."
"You, of all people, should know that in science, we share," Aurora told her. "We do not keep secrets."
Aurora walked away.
"Wow," Logan told them. "I haven't seen anyone make her that upset since Ronnie."
Vera looked at Wells. "Ronnie was Aurora's fiance? The one that died the night of the accelerator explosion?"
"Yeah," Wells answered. "He is missed. Now, let's figure out why this is happening to you."
⚡
Training Room
Logan, Cisco and Vera were in the training room that had an unusual treadclimber that was just one mat with a very high ceiling, and tons of boxes for STAR Labs.
"We're all set," Cisco told her. Vera looked at the boxes. Cisco noticed and explained. "A little padding just in case Barry loses control on the treadmill."
Vera nodded cautiously. "Yeah."
Logan walked toward a steel landing at the corner of the room. "This is highly heat resistant, and it will not warp or burn. At least not while you're at 250 degrees. To melt this, you'd have to get up to 2,500 degrees, which likely won't happen right now. Step right up."
"You wanna see me fly," Vera told them.
Cisco nodded, smiling. "I wanna see you fly." He pointed at two sensors a few feet above the steel landing. "When you get up here, they will take in your vitals for you, because none of our equipment will suffice for how literally hot you are right now." Vera raised her eyebrows at him. "I'm done."
Logan smirked.
Cisco and Logan walked out, into the room next door that allowed Wells, Aurora, Caitlin, Emma, Barry, Logan and Cisco to see the training room through the window. Emma and Barry were in their clothes from before the ceremony.
Vera stepped up onto the landing, flexing her hands, pushing fire out of them the way she had on the roof, with enough thickness and strength to push her up off the floor, levitating about a few inches off the landing for a few seconds, looking at the sensors above, slowly rising toward them, head between the sensors on either side of her. She could hear them in the other room through the speakers in this room.
"Heart rate, blood pressure, nerve conduction all normal," Aurora told them.
"For Vera," Wells corrected.
"Brainwave function within standard limits," Caitlin told them. "Body temperature still very high, but we need to find out what's causing it."
"Caitlin, look at the glucose levels," Aurora told her.
Caitlin did as told. "Oh, my God. Of course."
"What?" Barry asked.
"It was so obvious," Aurora told them.
"Glucose," Wells told them. "Vera, we think we know why you keep--" The fire faded into nothing, leaving Vera to fall onto the steel landing.... and to fall unconscious. The others winced as if they felt that pain. "Passing out."
⚡
Night - Police Precinct - Barry's Lab
Joe walked in. "Barry?"
Joe saw that Barry was not here and that the map over his board was waving in the wind, confused, raising the map to reveal Barry's investigation for his mother behind the map.
⚡
Flashback 2 - 14 Years Ago
Day - West House - Kitchen
Young Iris and Young Emma were sitting at the table.
Joe walked in with groceries. "Where's Barry?"
Young Iris and Young Emma looked at each other nervously.
"Taking a shower," Young Emma told him.
Joe gave them a skeptic look. "At 3:00 in the afternoon? If I go up those stairs, am I gonna see Barry Allen, or are you two gonna be grounded for lying to me?"
"I'm sorry, Daddy," Young Iris told him. "But don't worry, we know where he went."
Joe sighed. "Me, too."
⚡
Now
Night - Police Precinct - Barry's Lab
Joe turned around, seeing a STAR Labs sweatshirt on the chair behind him.
⚡
STAR Labs - Infirmary
Vera woke up in the infirmary again to see the others. "I passed out again?"
"Total metabolic failure brought on by acute hypoglycemia, and hyponatremia," Aurora told her.
Vera nodded. "I'm not eating enough, and I'm dehydrated. So an IV bag and I'm good to go."
Cisco scoffed. "All of this isn't just because you're not eating enough. Because of your power, and literally being fire, you are burning everything you eat almost as soon as you eat it, so that means eating more and eating more often. Not to mention how dehydrated you are. It's like a sauna inside you." Vera gave him a weird look, as Barry, Emma, Logan, Aurora and Caitlin raised their eyebrows. Cisco nodded awkwardly. "Probably should've worded that better."
"And when you absorbed all of that fire today..." Wells trailed off.
"It started to absorb what I ate and drank faster," Vera finished. "Okay, so when it comes to absorbing fire, I will do it very rarely and in very low doses. Guess this is also why I'm so thirsty all the time."
"We're gonna need to fashion you a diet based on your metabolic changes," Caitlin told her.
"I've done a few calculations," Cisco told her. "You need to consume an amount equal to roughly 850 tacos." Vera raised her eyebrows skeptically. Cisco chuckled. "I'm kidding. About a third of that. But, hey, at least you won't get fat. Your metabolism will burn it away as fast as Barry can run, and he runs through his metabolism too."
Barry nodded. "And that is really fast."
"Anybody else really hungry right now?" Logan asked.
Logan, Cisco, Wells and Barry raised their hands.
Aurora, Vera, Emma and Caitlin smirked.
Joe walked in. "For Mexican, I recommend Tito's on Bruckner Avenue. Best burrito in the city."
"Detective West, what brings you to STAR Labs?" Wells asked.
Joe pointed at Barry. "When I couldn't find you at your lab, I started doing a little research. Turns out, there's been reports of a red streak running in the streets and a flame soaring across the sky in the city, along with Glacia and Guardian. Stopping muggers. Flying away from buildings where fire was mysteriously disappearing."
Wells looked at Emma. "You... didn't tell him we were working together."
"I know that Emma and Barry have been working together with Aurora, Logan and Vera, but not the rest of you," Joe told them.
Emma sighed. "Dad..."
"Barry already has a job in law enforcement, Emma," Joe told her. "I suggests that he gets back to it." He looked at Vera. "And you have a job finding out how fires start and how to prevent them. Your job is not to go in there and stop them. And according to all of you, that is what has you in this position right now."
Caitlin nodded in agreement. "Mm-hmm." Joe looked at her. "Don't look at me. I'm on your side."
"Detective, we all want what's best for Logan, Aurora, Barry, and Vera," Wells told him.
"If you did, you'd talk them out of this nonsense instead of encouraging them going out there risking their lives," Joe told him.
"You saw a man control the weather," Emma told him. "What are the police gonna do against someone like that? Since the accelerator explosion, we suspect there may be more like him."
Joe crossed his arms over his chest. "And you're gonna do what? Catch them?" Logan raised his eyebrows slightly. "Are you insane? You think because you have these powers that you're invincible? You're not. You're just kids."
"Dad, you're wrong about this," Emma told him. "If they can save someone from dying like Vera's family, Barry's mother, Aurora's fiancé and her family, anyone in Logan's past, they're gonna do it. Not because they have to, but because they want to. You can't stop them. So don't try."
"You think you're so smart," Joe told them. "All of you. But you don't know what you don't know." He pointed at Wells. "And I hope that you're clever enough to figure it out before somebody gets killed."
Joe walked out, leaving.
Barry and Emma sighed, watching him go.

Alley
Stagg's bodyguard walked toward one of the armed thieves from earlier. "Where's the rest of your crew?"
The man pulled off his mask. "Just me."
"What do you want, Black?" the bodyguard asked.
"The only thing I still want in life," Black answered. "Your boss dead."
"It's not my fault you and your team moved too slow," the bodyguard told him. "I told you where Stagg would be, not how long he would be there."
"I need his full itinerary and security access to his office and home," Black told him.
"Screw you," the bodyguard told him. "I've got a reputation in the security business. It's one thing if my employer gets iced. It's another if it happens in his bedroom."
"You'll do what I ask, Mr. Java," Black told him.
Java nodded sarcastically, punching Black in the face, making him fall. "What the hell are you gonna do to me without your army?"
Java turned around, walking away.
Black pushed himself up, shaking and groaning as he was split into two versions of himself, then more.
Java got to his car.
Six Blacks walked closer. "I am an army."
The six Blacks started to attack Java.

Day Two
Morning - Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab
Barry was working.
Joe was here.
Emma walked in, looking at Joe. "Did you call me here so that you can yell at me again?"
"Simon Stagg's head of security was murdered last night," Joe told them. "The coroner took some skin samples. Hopefully they belong to his killer." He handed a paper to Barry. "See if you can find a match."
"Can't be a coincidence Stagg's benefit was attacked last night," Barry told them.
"I'm going to interview Stagg now," Joe told them.
"I'll come with you," Barry offered.
"Your job is in here," Joe told him. "Stay in here and do it." He looked at Emma. "You can stay here and help him. Instead of working at a place that is responsible for what is happening."
Emma rolled her eyes, sighing.
Iris walked in with coffee. "Hey, Dad."
"Hey, baby," Joe told her. "Gotta go."
Joe walked out, leaving.
Iris looked at Emma. "Why is Dad mad at you?"
Emma sighed. "Lab stuff."
"Why are you mad at us?" Barry asked.
"You guys were supposed to meet me at Jitters to give me some scientific background for my article," Iris answered.
Barry sighed. "And we didn't show up."
"I have come up with a new topic in 24 hours, or I fail the assignment," Iris told them.
"Iris--" Barry started.
"Don't say that you're sorry," Iris told them. "Okay? I know that you are. What I don't know is what is going on with you. Both of you. Emma, you are my sister, and Barry, we grew up in the same house hallway as each other. Do you honestly think that I don't know when you're happy or sad, or depressed, or lost? I'm gonna ask you one last time, and you both better be honest with me. What the--"
Barry used his super speed around the girls without them knowing what was going on because he was going too fast for them to see or hear him. "You want to know what's happening? I'm fast now. And for the last four months, Emma and I have just wanted to tell you, but we can't."
Barry stopped in the place where he had been.
Iris finished what she was saying. "Hell is going on with you?" Emma's phone buzzed. She looked at it. "We are not done talking about this."
Barry looked at his computer to see results of the DNA test. "Impossible. There was a murder. These skin cells belong to the murderer, but these are naive. Stem cells. They can replicate and become any cell the body needs. They only come from babies."
"This means your killer is what, a newborn?" Iris asked.
Emma frowned in confusion.

Logan / Guardian:
Stagg Industries - Storage Room
Simon was walking with Joe and Eddie. "You honestly think someone wants to kill me?"
"We're not sure, Mr. Stagg," Eddie told him. "But the event you were being honored at was robbed at gunpoint."
"And your head of security was found murdered this morning," Joe told him.
"I am a scientist and a philanthropist," Simon told them. "We're not often the targets of assassins."
"Well, what about lawsuits?" Joe asked. "You've got about 20 of those pending against you."
"Yeah, it is a sad fact of life, Detective, that when you earn a lot of money, people who haven't think they can take yours," Simon told him.
Joe went through a file. "People like this guy, for example? Danton Black?"
Simon took the picture from him. "Danton Black."
"You fired him, and now he's suing you," Joe told him.
"Unfortunately, our working relationship wasn't successful," Simon told them. "But I can assure you both of one thing. Danton Black is not a killer. He's a clinical researcher, not a criminal mastermind. Now, if I can help you in any way, please let me know. I want these people caught as much as you do."
Three Blacks walked closer, aiming guns. "Then here we are."
Eddie tackled Simon down into cover before he could get shot. "Down!"
Joe took cover.
The three Blacks walked closer, firing.
Joe looked at Eddie. "Get him out of here. I'll cover you. Ready? Go."
Eddie started to lead Simon away.
Joe fired at the three Blacks.
Logan/Guardian got here in time to punch Black 1 in the face and render him unconscious before he could shoot Joe from behind.
Joe looked behind him, breathing heavily, surprised to see Logan.
Logan nodded, looking toward the other two Blacks.
A Black removed his ski mask, starting to morph into more Blacks. They all started to fire at Logan.
Barry/Flash zoomed past them to take their guns before Logan could get shot, tossing them down.
Logan looked at Joe. "Go."
"No," Joe told them.
Barry rolled his eyes, grabbing Joe, zooming him out of the building and into safety.
Logan looked at the Blacks. "Whoever you are, give yourselves up."
"Sorry," Black told him. "We're not going anywhere." They all spoke together. "Until Simon Stagg is dead."
The Blacks all lunged for Logan. Logan tilted his head barely, punching Black 1 in the chest, making him fall, turning to kick Black 2 in the chest and making him hit a shelf behind him and fall to the ground, grabbing Black 3 by the jacket, lifting him up, throwing him into the wall, letting him fall. Black 4 morphed into three Blacks. Logan punched Black 4 in the face, making him fall, kicking Black 5 in the chest, also making him fall, punching Black 6 in the chest with more strength, making two more Black form out of him. Black 1 picked up a gun from behind Logan, shooting him in the back, making him fall, wounded enough to where the Blacks could beat him from all around.
Barry zoomed in, knocking every single one of the Blacks to the ground in one go.
All of the clone Blacks remained unconscious, while the real one got away, because Barry was making sure that Logan wasn't going to get anymore hurt than a gunshot wound.

STAR Labs - Infirmary
Aurora was stitching Logan up, while the others watched. "Sorry. The gunshot wound is already rapidly healing."
"I kicked a lot of their asses, before I got shot," Logan told them.
"How did you even know about the shootout?" Barry asked. "I heard about it from the precinct."
"I got a police radio in my car," Logan answered. "One of the perks of being a security guard, for both the city and STAR Labs." He looked at Vera and Aurora. "Would have called you..."
"But you, being a guy, didn't want us to get hurt and decided to take the danger and pain yourself," Vera told him. "We get it. But don't do that again."
"Agreed," Aurora stated.
Cisco was examining Logan's suit. "You got blood on my suit."
"Yeah, well, he got shot, Cisco," Emma told him. "Of course he did."
"I think some of it belongs to him," Logan told them. "Another not-so-friendly metahuman."
Wells brought up the metahuman's picture and records on the screen on the wall. "Danton Black. A bio-geneticist. Specialized in therapeutic cloning. Growing new organs to replace failing ones."
"Apparently, Stagg stole his research and then fired him," Caitlin told them.
Logan stood. "I saw Black create duplicates from his own body."
"That's pretty ironic," Vera told them. "The guy specialized in cloning, and now he can make Xeroxes of himself."
"If he was experimenting on himself when exposed to the dark matter wave, released by the accelerator explosion..." Wells trailed off.
"Meet Captain Clone," Cisco told them. Aurora looked at him. "Don't worry. I'll come up with something cooler."
Barry gazed off, sighing.

A few guards brought Henry in.
Young Barry stood. "Dad."
Young Barry ran to hug Henry.
A guard pulled Young Barry back. "Sorry, no physical contact." He looked at Henry. "Five minutes, Allen."
The guard backed away.
Henry gestured to the bench next to them. "Sit down, son." They sat down. "Barry, how did you get here?"
"I ran here," Young Barry answered. "Joe wouldn't bring me. He wouldn't let me see you. I hate him."
Henry shook his head. "No. No, don't say that. It isn't Joe... that doesn't want you to come here. I don't want you to come here. I don't want you to see me like this."
Young Barry stood, looking at the guards. "You have to let him go. My dad didn't do these things. He didn't hurt my mom. It was the man in the lightning. The lightning man killed my mom."
"Barry, look at me," Henry told him.
"Not my dad," Young Barry told them.
"Look at me," Henry told him, turning Young Barry to face him. "You can't help me. Okay? Now Joe is gonna look after you until I can get out of here. You just... be the good boy that your mom and I know you are."
Young Barry started to cry, hugging Henry.
Henry saw that Joe was watching from the doorway, looking at him sadly, closing his eyes, kissing Young Barry on the cheek, pulling away.
The guard started to take Henry away.
Young Barry didn't want to say goodbye. "Dad. Dad."
Joe watched him sadly.

Woman: (on TV) "Detective, was the gunman apprehended?"
Eddie and Iris were watching the news.
Eddie: (on TV) "The shooter's whereabouts are unknown at this time. We consider him armed and extremely dangerous. Thank you. No more questions."
"Nice work, Eddie," Emma told him.
Eddie and Iris turned to Emma.
Eddie smiled. "Yeah, right place, right time."
"No, you were a hero today," Emma told him.
"CCPD still has a killer on the loose," Eddie told them. "I should get back to the precinct."
Iris kissed Eddie, pulling away. "Bye." Emma smiled kindly. Eddie walked out, leaving. Iris looked at her sister. "So, did you come here for caffeine? Or are you finally gonna tell me what's going on with you?"
Emma turned to Iris, sighing.

Central City Police Department
Joe and Simon were walking together.
"Mr. Stagg, I wish you would reconsider our offer for protective custody," Joe told him. "Danton Black has proven he is willing to kill, and he's got... uh, friends, and trust me, they're all dangerous."
"I've increased my security, Detective," Simon told him. "I hope Black comes looking for trouble, because he'll find plenty."
Wells wheeled his chair inside, clapping. "Spoken like a true philanthropist. Or is it humanitarian?" He sighed. "I'm sorry, I can never remember which one you're pretending to be, Simon."
Simon smirked sarcastically. "Harrison. Don't get up."
"Ha ha," Wells told him sarcastically.
Simon walked into the elevator, taking it down to leave.
Joe looked at Wells. "Another fan of yours, doctor?"
"Can we talk, Detective?" Wells asked.
Joe walked alongside Wells as he rolled his chair through the precinct. "So, you were right. Barry, Vera, Aurora, Logan... They're not the only ones who are special. This guy that tried to kill Stagg today, he could--"
"Replicate spontaneously," Wells finished. "Yeah, we know."
"How long did Emma know that Barry had powers?" Joe asked. "That any of them had powers?"
"She found out when we did," Wells answered. "We didn't know that Barry would have powers until he woke up, just like Vera. Emma is the one that brought Barry to STAR Labs while he was in his coma to treat him better than any hospital could, Detective."
"Yeah, but you sought out Vera Mitchell," Joe told him. "Didn't you? You knew what she could do."
"I had my suspicions that they were affected," Wells told him. "Hey, Joe. I was never looking to become a senior member of a secret crime-fighting unit. You and I both know, we are the only ones equipped to protect Central City."
"Maybe I'm more interested in protecting Barry and Emma," Joe told him. "Barry has powers now, yes, but my daughter doesn't, and I don't think she really knows what she's gotten herself into with you and STAR Labs. Powers or no powers, she's set to fly into the fire right along with all of you."
"No, she's not," Wells told him. "She doesn't go into the field. She stays in the lab when she can. Whenever she's involved in any danger, it's usually because danger finds Emma, not the other way around. Like Mardon nearly killing your daughters in the street, they weren't looking for trouble. They weren't looking for trouble when Black robbed the ceremony, either."
"Either way, when she's working with all of you on this, she is putting herself in danger," Joe told her. "And I can't talk her into quitting or leaving your new team, because when Emma sets her mind to something, no one's gonna talk her out of it."
"You want to know what will put her in more danger of getting hurt than whatever is lurking out there, Joe?" Wells asked. "Doubt. And as long as you continue to doubt Emma, Barry, the others... they will keep doubting themselves, thinking that they're incapable. And thinking that they're incapable is what's going to hurt them. Take this as reassurance, Detective... Emma is not the one out there running headlong into danger. Your daughter will be safe. And for the record, I care about them, too. All of them."
Wells wheeled away.

Jitters
(Song:) Smile - Oliver Daldry
Emma was eating.
Iris walked closer with a glass of water. "Guess you were hungry."
"Stress eating," Emma told her. "You know how Dad and I have been arguing?"
"Yeah," Iris answered.
"It all goes back to when he wanted me to leave STAR Labs after the particle accelerator explosion, but I stayed there because I wanted to help Aurora and Logan recover from their accidents, and make sure that Barry and Vera woke up, and made sure that they were okay when they did," Emma told her. "Now, Dad's saying that now they're all fine..."
"And he wants you to leave, but you don't want to," Iris finished.
Emma sighed, nodding. "And I came to say I'm sorry. And you're right, I have been distant."
"Correct," Iris told her. "You should apologize more often. You are sensational at it." They smiled. "So, what were you gonna tell me yesterday?"
"It's just that, Vera Mitchell just woke up a week ago, and you saw how hard it was for Barry for that first week," Emma told her. Iris nodded in agreement. "We're just trying to help her through it at STAR Labs; you know, running tests, making sure she's okay, just like Barry, Aurora and Logan. And I am trying to multitask, so if you need help with a new topic for your article..."
"I found one," Iris told her. "Something that actually interests me." She stood, walking toward the counter. "I know this is gonna sound crazy. It's been all over the Internet this week." Emma stood, walking closer. Iris showed her her laptop. "At a building fire, at a bank heist, even when those robbers shot at the security guard. He said he was whooshed outside. Something out there is saving people."
"I thought you were taking journalism," Emma told her. "Not science fiction writing."
Iris gave her a look. "You've always believed in the impossible. What if Barry was right about the night that his mom died? The news knows all about Guardian and Glacia because of the fact that they helped Sapphire and Arrow and the other Starling City vigilantes with the army of super strong men. What if Central City has two more heroes like that now?"
(Song Ends)
Emma sighed, turning away. Her phone rang. She pulled it out, seeing that Logan was calling, answering. "Hey. I'm a little busy right now. What's up?"
Logan was in the Cortex, looking at Black. "You need to get to STAR Labs right now."

STAR Labs - Cortex
The team was looking at a duplicate of Black.
"How did we get one of Black's replicates?" Barry asked.
"We grew him," Caitlin answered. "Aurora and I isolated a sample of Black's blood from Logan's suit to see if we could trigger the in vitro cultivation process, and learn how Black multiplies. So we exposed the target cells to a protein gel and they began replicating into that."
Barry waved his hand in front of the unmoving Black replicate. "Why doesn't he--it doing anything?"
"We did a brain scan," Wells told them. "Involuntary motor functions are active. Little else."
"We think it's acting as a receiver," Cisco told them.
"The clones are an empty shell without Black," Aurora told them. "Shut down the real Black, and you might shut them all down."
"Can I set this one on fire, and can Aurora freeze this one into ice without killing the real Black?" Vera asked.
"Seeing as he can't recollect the clones and are now empty shells that are not apart of Black anymore, I would say yes," Wells answered.
"How do we know which one's the real Black?" Logan asked. "I don't wanna kill anything except the clones."
"That occurred to me given Vera's passing out," Caitlin told them. "Black has limits, just like you. Controlling all of those clones must require a tremendous amount of physical strength. So look for the one showing signs of weakness or fatigue. He's the prime."
"Just a theory, but one you might want to put to the test," Emma told them.
Cisco walked closer, holding a protein bar toward Vera. "Plus, Vera, I whipped up these high calorie protein bars for you to keep your metabolism up."
Vera took the bar from Cisco, opening it, taking a bite.
Barry raised his eyebrows in amusement at how fast that she had taken it.
"What?" Vera asked. "I'm hungry."
Barry chuckled. "Clearly."
The duplicate Black started to move.
Caitlin screamed out once in surprise, backing away.
Aurora raised a hand toward the duplicate, shooting ice into his chest when he turned to her, killing the duplicate, making him fall to the floor.
Joe walked in. "Can't say that I'm not impressed. Any more of them?"
"Nope," Emma answered.
"Why did it start moving?" Barry asked.
"The prime," Wells answered. "My guess is the prime is on the move. This heard the summons to battle."
"And I know where he was summoned to," Joe told them. "Stagg Industries."
"And you're not calling it in?" Emma asked.
"No," Joe answered. "Police can't fight this. What Black's become, like Mardon, beyond me. Maybe way beyond them, too." He looked at Aurora, Logan, Vera and Barry. "The only people it's not beyond is the four of you. You four gotta do this. I get it. Go stop him."
Caitlin and Cisco nodded.
Emma started to smile.
Joe nodded.
Aurora, Logan, Vera and Barry exchanged a look, walking toward the display case that held their suits.
Joe looked at Emma.
Emma smiled.

Guards walked closer, aiming guns at the clones. "Freeze. Don't move."

Simon was sitting at his desk. He heard gunshots fired from down below. He stood, walking out of the room.
⚡
Foyer
Simon walked into the foyer to see the unconscious and/or dead guards on the floor nearby their guns, facing three of the Blacks.
"Hello, Danton," Simon told him.
One of the Blacks aimed a gun at him. "Goodbye, Simon."
Barry/Flash zoomed toward Simon, grabbing him, zooming him away.
⚡
Office
Barry zoomed Simon into his office. "Stay here."

Aurora / Glacia:
Foyer
Logan/Guardian, Vera/Pyra, and Aurora/Glacia walked toward the Blacks, seeing that the place was crawling with them.
"I know Stagg stole your research, but that doesn't give you the right to murder," Aurora told them.
Black shot his gun toward them.
Vera used fire to levitate herself off the floor, above the bullet to make him miss, aiming the fire coming out of her hands at the wide awake and alert Blacks to burn them, killing them, letting them fall. She saw more Blacks on the second level, using fire to fly to the second level, letting herself land lightly, letting the fire dissipate into nothing.
One of the Blacks aimed his gun at Logan. "You think this is about my job?" Logan caught the barrel of the gun, punching his arm, breaking it, making him drop the gun, turning to backhand punch him in the face, making him fall. "This is about Elizabeth."
Another Black stood to Aurora's right, aiming a gun at her. "She was my wife. She had a degenerative coronary disease. She'd been on the transplant list for years, but time was running out."
Another Black stood to Aurora's left, aiming a gun at her. "So, if I couldn't get her a new heart--"
"You were gonna grow her one," Aurora finished.
Black 1 tried to shoot Aurora. Aurora turned herself into ice (her ice form) to use it as a shield from the bullet and survive, letting herself return to normal. Black 2 tried to shoot her. Aurora kicked the gun out of his hands, flipping through the air, kicking him in the head, making him fall to the floor, landing beside him.
Another Black walked closer. "I was so close until Stagg stole my research so he could reap the glory. And I got to bury my best friend. Now.... I'm alone."
Barry was downstairs, zooming around through the Black replicates, trying to find the one that was using physical energy to control the others so they could find the real one and put an end to this.
About a hundred more Blacks crowded around Vera, Logan and Aurora, one of them obviously being the real one and unchecked.
Vera looked over the railing to the level below. "Hurry!"
Barry zoomed up to the second level to check all of the ones up here.
Vera climbed up onto the railing, jumping off, using fire to ease herself onto the floor quickly, shooting fire at all of the clones on the first level, killing them all.
Aurora thrust her hands out at the clones and shot a never-ending stream of ice at all of them (the ones that Vera wasn't already burning), and froze them solid, killing them just the same, watching as the frozen clones shattered and fell into pieces to the floor.
Barry and Logan would toss the clones that they knew weren't the real Black over the railing down toward Aurora and Vera.
Aurora and Vera used ice and fire to kill all of them.
Barry found the right one, zooming the real Black into a beam, pushing him against it, turning around to throw him toward Logan. Logan raised his fist to punch Black in the head as he rammed into his arm, making him fall unconscious.
Barry and Logan looked down toward Vera, Aurora and all of the burned, singed, smoking, frozen and shattered clone bodies.
Aurora nodded. "We'll..." She looked around the clone bodies and pieces of ice that were the remains of clone bodies. "Take care of this."
Barry and Logan chuckled.
Vera turned to the clone bodies, using fire as a layer to rush across all of the clone bodies to where they were cremated into dust.
They heard Caitlin through the comms in the suits. "Vera? Barry, are you all right?"
"I'm fine," Barry answered.
"I'm good," Vera told them.
"We're good," Logan told them.
"It's done," Aurora told them.
Vera turned to see Black starting to stand behind Barry without him noticing. "Barry!"
Barry turned around. Black ran toward Barry. Barry sidestepped to make him miss. Black ran into the glass windows, shattering through them, starting to fall.
Barry zoomed to the window, catching his wrist. "Hang on." Black cloned a new hand to try to pry Barry's wrist off of his to get him to let go and let him fall. "Don't."
Black pried Barry's hand away from his wrist, falling to his death.
Logan, Aurora, Vera and Barry were in shock and horror, knowing that even when they tried to save him, they couldn't have because Black hadn't wanted to be saved.

"I tried to save him," Barry told them.
"Doesn't sound like he wanted to be saved," Wells told them. "Some people, when they break, they can't be put together again."
"Some people heal ever stronger," Logan told them.
"I hope so," Wells told them.
Cisco, Caitlin, Aurora, Logan, Emma, Barry and Vera walked toward the door.
"Well, at least Multiplex won't be able to hurt anyone else," Cisco told them. Logan and Barry smirked in amusement. Aurora and Caitlin tilted their heads. Emma and Vera raised their eyebrows. "Told you I'd come up with a cool name."
Aurora looked at Barry, Logan and Vera, but spoke to the others. "You know, we may be the ones in the suits having the powers, but when we're out there helping people, making a difference..." She looked at Cisco, Caitlin, Emma and Wells. "You're all out there with us. Finally realized something. We were all affected by the accelerator, even if you don't have a power or not."
They walked out, leaving.

Barry and Emma were talking, laughing.
Joe brought pizza. "Hungry? Pepperoni. Olives. And jalapenos. Just like you like it."
Emma took a box, opening it to dig in. "Thank you. You were wrong, Barry."
"I have been wrong a lot this week," Barry told her. "You're gonna have to be more specific."
"You said that one of the things driving you to run around out there was that you couldn't help your dad," Emma told him. She pulled up the map to reveal Barry's investigation for his parents. "You can help him. We all can. We're gonna figure out who or what killed your mother that night. And it's looking a lot like that same thing or person is what killed Vera's family, too. And then, once we figure out who's the killer, we're gonna get your father out of prison."
Joe nodded in agreement. "Together."
Emma smiled. "Together. Dad, I'm sorry. And I know, I've been saying that a lot here recently, but I mean it. Even if we get into huge fights like the last few days... I love you, Dad, and nothing's gonna change that."
"I know," Joe told her. "I know, baby. I just don't want you to get hurt."
"I won't let anything happen to her, Joe," Barry told him. "I swear."
"I just wanna help out, Dad," Emma told him. "In any way that I can."
Barry, Joe and Emma smiled, starting to eat pizza.

Logan/Guardian was running across rooftops, jumping from roof to roof and able to land and jump far because of his super strength, not just in his arms, but his entire body.
Logan: (voice over) "Truth is, not much else changes. You still hurt. You still love. You still wish, and hope and fear things. You still need people to help you with all of it. In some ways, that's the best part."
Vera/Pyra was using fire to fly through the sky, taking Aurora/Glacia along for the ride.
Aurora was smiling. "This is so cool."
Vera smiled.
Caitlin, Emma and Cisco were at the Cortex.
Emma was typing away at the computers.
"An armored car was just hijacked on Griffen Avenue," Caitlin told them. "Get your asses over there."
Cisco, Emma and Caitlin smiled.
Aurora looked down to where Barry was zooming and Logan was leaping across rooftops. "Yeah, we got it."
Barry looked up to see that Vera and Aurora were almost caught up, zooming even faster to get way ahead.
Vera smirked, shaking her head. "Show off."
"Catch me if you can," Barry told them.
Vera used more fire and strength to fly faster through the air with Aurora.
Logan smiled, getting faster to go after them.
Aurora: (voice over) "Actually, the best part? It's this. Us, all of us, working together, fighting together. Even when we can do things on our own, it is always better to have people to fight with you for the things that you can't."

"You been having a party out there?" Wells asked.
"Oh, I'm sure you saw on TV," Simon told him. "Former employee of mine tried to kill me."
Wells nodded. "Former employee with the ability to replicate... faced off against four extraordinary people with extraordinary abilities."
"You've seen them, too, haven't you?" Simon asked.
"Indeed, I have," Wells answered.
"Well, it's like you said," Simon told him. "Extraordinary." He stood. "The power they possess. It's like the--it's like the gods of old. Like Mercury on Earth. Can you imagine if you could control their powers, if you could harness them, you could change what it means to be human. The people in the masks are the key. And I'm gonna get them."
Wells took off his glasses. "The people in the masks... The one with super speed, he's called the Flash. The girl on fire, she's Pyra. The woman with ice, she's Glacia. The man with super strength, he's Guardian. Or at least, that's what they'll be called, one day."
Wells stood.
Simon was in shock and confusion. "What the hell?"
Wells stabbed Simon in the chest with a knife. "Forgive me, Simon. I'm worried you'll think this is personal. It's not. It's just that those people, they must be kept..." He took the knife out, letting Simon's dead body fall to the floor. "Safe."
