Opening

It was sunny in the beautifully cloudy sky.

Barry: (voice over) "To understand what I'm about to tell you, you need to do something first. You need to believe in the impossible. Can you do that? Good."

A red streak was zooming through the streets of Central City.

Barry: (voice over) "You see that red blur? That's me."

A flame was hurling through the sky at the speed of light, flying.

Vera: (voice over) "And that flying flame? That's me."

Ice was building up quickly on the street, making robbers that were trying to make a getaway slip on the ice and fall to the ground.

Aurora: (voice over) "And that's the work of me."

A robber was punched in the head, falling into a car, denting it.

Logan: (voice over) "And me. Logan Hemmings. The man with strength, and with power that he has no idea he possesses yet."

The red streak was zooming through the streets.

Barry: (voice over) "My name is Barry Allen. I'm the fastest man alive."

The flying flame soared through the sky.

Vera: (voice over) "I'm Vera Mitchell. And I am literally made of fire."

There was a closeup of white-gloved hands that emanated fog like dry ice.

Aurora: (voice over) "To say that Aurora Swan is an ice princess would be an understatement."

The image of lightning, ice and fire twirled together around the image of strength.

Logan: (voice over) "There's no shortage of heroes in Central City. There's no shortage of villains, either. It might take the four of us and more to save it from them and itself."

Flashback 1 - 14 Years Ago

March 18, 2000

Day - Street

Young Barry Allen was running down the street, away from a group of bullies.

Barry: (voice over) "My story is pretty simple. My whole life, I've been running. Usually from bullies. Sometimes I escaped."

The four bullies tackled Young Barry to the ground, beating him.

Barry: (voice over) "Sometimes I did not."

Allen House - Living Room

Nora Allen was fixing up Young Barry's bruises. "Tell me what happened."

"Those guys were picking on kids, just because they thought they weren't cool," Young Barry told her. "It wasn't right."

"I know," Nora told him.

"I guess I wasn't fast enough," Young Barry told her.

Nora shook her head. "No. You have such a good heart, Barry. And it's better to have a good heart than fast legs."

Henry Allen walked in. "Hello? I'm home."

"Barry got into a fight," Nora told him.

Henry set down his briefcase, taking off his jacket. "Oh, yeah?"

"And he won," Nora told him.

"Way to go, slugger," Henry told him. Nora gave him a look. "Oh, and no more fighting."

Nora and Henry kissed softly, pulling away.

Young Barry watched them, smiling.

Night - Allen House - Barry's Room

Young Barry was sleeping in bed. He heard clattering and clanking from downstairs, sitting up.

Water from the fish tank started to float.

Barry: (voice over) "But after that night, I was running from something much scarier."

Downstairs

Young Barry walked downstairs.

Barry: (voice over) "Something I could never explain. Something impossible."

Living Room

Young Barry walked into the living room to see red and yellow streaks surrounding his mother on the floor.

Nora screamed in terror.

"Mom!" Young Barry told her.

"Barry, don't!" Nora told him. "Get back!"

"Mom!" Young Barry screamed. The nearby window shattered. "Mom!" Nora screamed. Henry ran inside. "Mom!"

"Nora!" Henry told her.

"Stay back!" Nora told them.

"Nora, hold on!" Henry told her. He turned to his son. "Run, Barry. Run!"

The yellow lightning surrounding the red streak zoomed toward Young Barry, taking him away.

Street

Young Barry was dropped off by the red streak, looking around, seeing he was completely alone. "Mom? Dad?"

Young Barry ran back toward his home.

Now

Day One

Morning - Street

Barry was jogging down the sidewalk with a bag over his shoulder and a briefcase in his hand.

Bank - Outside

The place was a crime scene.

Detective Fred Chyre was speaking to Detective Joe West. "Second robbery this week."

"The teller ID'd Clyde Mardon as the shooter," Joe told him.

"What?" Fred asked. "Oh, jeez, the Mardon brothers are back?"

Captain David Singh walked closer. "What do we got?"

Joe handed him the mug shots of the Mardon brothers. "Perps took the bank, shot out the camera, and killed the security guard there. I got unis kicking in doors of their known associates."

"CSI been over it?" Singh asked.

"No," Joe answered.

"Where's Allen?" Singh asked.

Barry was running closer, bumping into a man. "I'm sorry, sorry."

Singh looked at Joe. "You can't keep covering for him."

Barry ran closer. "Coming through." He reached the three men. "Sorry I'm late, Captain Singh."

"What was it this time, Mr. Allen?" Singh asked. "Forgot to set your alarm clock?" Barry shook his head. "Before you answer, I should remind you, the excuse you gave last time was car trouble. Wanna know why that one was particularly memorable?"

"I do not own a car," Barry answered.

"He was running an errand for me," Joe told them. "Barry, did you get me what I asked for?"

Barry nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, I did. I have it right..." He took out a half-eaten candy bar. "Here. I had a few bites of it." Joe gave him a look, nodding toward the crime scene. Barry laid on the ground to investigate the tire treads, sitting up. "Getaway car is a Mustang Shelby GT500." Joe wrote this down, smirking, shaking his head. "Shelbys have a rear super-wide tire specific to that model. 12 inches with an asymmetrical tread. And there's something else." Barry stood, taking a pen from Fred's suit. "Thanks." He used the pen to scrape up marks on the ground, sniffing it, wincing. "Fecal excrement. Animal, I'd guess."

Barry put the fecal pen into a plastic bag.

"My dad gave me that pen, before he died, " Fred told him.

Barry winced, looking away. "Sorry."

Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab

Barry was running tests on the fecal matter found on the pen.

Iris and Emma West walked in.

"Okay, I am ready to see this atom smasher--smashing," Iris told them.

"There was a shooting today," Barry told them. "Your dad needs me to process some evidence. Which means, I don't know if I'm gonna make it to STAR Labs."

"No," Emma told him. "No, you promised that you would be there."

"I'm sorry, Emma," Barry told her. "Really, I am. I mean, you kinda have to be there because you work at STAR Labs, but I don't know if..."

"I will get you to the front of the line tonight," Emma told them.

"Besides, seeing this thing turn on is, like, your dream," Iris told him. "Your sad little, nerdy dream. And we promised Emma we could be there." She saw takeout on the table, taking a fry and taking a bite. "Besides, I canceled a date for this so that I could honor that promise."

Barry took the box of fries away from her. "Hands off my fries." He shook his head. "Unbelievable."

"I'm stress eating over my dissertation," Iris told them. "We started selling cronuts at Jitters. I ate two today." Emma smiled. "If I don't graduate soon, I'm gonna be more muffin top than woman."

"You look amazing," Barry told her.

Iris rolled her eyes, scoffing.

Barry looked away nervously, walking away to run more tests.

Emma looked at him knowingly.

Iris picked up a magazine, looking at Emma. "What is so important about this particle accelerator, anyway?"

"Harrison Wells's work in quantum theory is light-years ahead of anything at CERN," Emma told her.

"You're doing that thing when you're not speaking English," Iris told her.

"Okay," Emma told them, walking toward his Plexiglas board to draw for them. "Just imagine... that that dot is everything the human race has ever learned until this moment."

"That include twerking?" Iris asked.

"No," Emma answered. "No twerk." She drew a circle around the dot. "That is everything we could learn from the particle accelerator. It's a whole new way of looking at physics. It will literally change the way that we think about everything."

"Girl's a genius," Barry told them.

Emma nodded. "It's a problem."

"I'm really excited about it, too, okay?" Barry asked. "And I will promise to try and make it there."

Iris smiled, putting a hand on Barry's shoulders. "You've gotta get a girlfriend. And help me set up Emma with a boyfriend."

Joe walked in. "Hey, leave him alone. He's working."

Emma and Iris smiled. "Hi, Dad."

The computer beeped.

Iris looked at Barry. "Your test thingy is done."

Barry walked toward the computer, sitting down. "I think the Mardon brothers are hiding on a farm. The fecal matter I found on the street was cow manure, which contained traces of Oxytetracycline. It's an antibiotic. There are only four farms in the area that still use it in their feed. Bet you find a really sweet Shelby parked at one of them."

Joe took the paper.

"Dad, seeing as how Barry solved your poop problem, how about letting him go to STAR Labs?" Emma asked. Joe looked at her. Emma wrapped her arm around Joe in a one-armed hug. "Please, Dad. You know this is really important to me."

Joe smiled. "Fine, go."

Barry clapped. "Yes."

Iris giggled.

Emma smiled, kissing Joe on the cheek.

"Thank you, Joe," Barry told him, grabbing his jacket, pulling it on.

Barry, Emma and Iris walked out, leaving.

STAR Labs - Outside

Barry, Emma and Iris walked up through line toward the Labs.

"So, Barry, how was your trip?" Iris asked. "Did you find proof of the impossible in Starling City? Or did you just make our dad mad for no reason?"

"Actually, while I was away, I had a chance to work with a doctor here from STAR Labs," Barry told them. "Her name's Aurora."

Emma nodded. "Hmm, yeah. Aurora Swan. A best friend of mine and engaged to Ronnie Raymond, another guy that works here. Speaking of, I gotta get inside."

"Of course," Iris told her. "Good luck."

Emma and Iris smiled, embracing, pulling away.

Emma walked inside.

Barry looked at Iris. "You know, when I was away, I had time to think about relationships. How I'm not in one, and you're not in one, either. And you're my best friend, Iris."

"You're mine, too," Iris told him. "And I know what you're gonna say, Barry."

"I'm not sure you do," Barry told her.

"Even though we pretty much grew up in the same house together and we're kind of like brother and sister, because we're not brother and sister, it can get really weird and awkward to talk to me about girls," Iris told him. "But I just want you to know that it shouldn't be awkward. There is nothing I want more than for you to meet the right person that totally loves and adores you for the amazing guy that you are."

Barry smiled awkwardly, nodding. "Took the words right out of my mouth."

Iris smiled. "Aw. Aren't you glad I know you so well?"

Inside

Barry and Iris walked inside.

Cisco Ramon, Caitlin Snow, Aurora Swan, Ronnie Raymond and Emma stood up on the stage.

Logan Hemmings stood nearby the stage as security detail.

Dr. Harrison Wells walked up onto the stage.

The crowd cheered.

Emma saw Barry and Iris in the crowd, smiling, waving.

Barry and Iris smiled, waving back.

Barry nodded to Aurora on the stage.

Aurora smirked slightly at the memory of them being asked to save the lives of Oliver Queen / Arrow and Jill Wright / Sapphire back in Starling City, nodding in return.

"Thank you," Wells told them. "My name is Harrison Wells. Tonight, the future begins. The work my team and I will do here will change our understanding of physics, will bring about advancements in power, advancements in medicine. And trust me. That future will be here faster than you think."

The crowd applauded.

Caitlin and Cisco exchanged a look, smiling.

Aurora and Ronnie looked at each other, smiling.

A man walked past Iris, taking her bag, running.

Iris turned after him. "No! Hey, my laptop. It's got my dissertation."

Barry ran after the man.

Outside

Barry chased the man outside through the crowd, bumping into a man. "I'm sorry."

Barry continued to chase the thief.

Alley

Barry walked into the alley, looking around.

The man stepped out from behind the wall, using the laptop to hit Barry in the head, making him fall.

Barry sat up. "All right, kid, you don't have to do this, all right?" He stood. "Just give me back my friend's bag, and we'll call it even." The man acted as if he would hand it back. "Okay?"

The man rammed the laptop into Barry's stomach, running away.

Iris ran up next to him. "Barry. Are you okay?"

"Yeah," Barry answered.

The man ran down the alley, jumping over the fence with the bag, landing on the other side.

Detective Eddie Thawne stopped him from getting away, aiming a gun at him. "Freeze! Police. Or do you want to find out the hard way you're not faster than a bullet?"

Central City Police Department

Barry and Iris had been called in to file the police report.

Barry was sitting in a chair, holding an ice back to his face where the man had hit him with the laptop.

Iris walked toward him, looking toward Eddie. "Who is that guy, and what is he so proud of? So he caught a mugger."

"He's a transfer from Keystone," Barry told her. "Started a few weeks ago. Eddie Thawne."

Iris nodded. "Oh, so that's Detective Pretty Boy." Barry looked at her in confusion. "That's what my dad calls him. Says he actually keeps score when it comes to arrests. He is pretty, though."

Barry rolled his eyes, looking away.

Vera's Loft

https://youtu.be/5Ozg-EL4VJQ

Vera Mitchell was alone in her own loft, watching the rain through the wall of windows. She heard the news talking about the particle accelerator, turning the TV off. She sat down next to a guitar amp, picking up a red electric guitar, playing a few cords, starting to sing slowly and melancholy while she played 'Just Tonight' by the Pretty Reckless. "Here we are / And I can't think from all the pills / Hey / Start the car and take me home / Here we are / And you're too drunk to hear a word I say / Start the car and take me home / Just tonight I will stay / And we'll throw it all away / When the light hits your eyes / It's telling me I'm right / And If I / I am through / Then it's all because of you / Just tonight."

Farm - Outside

A car pulled up to the barn.

Car

Fred was in the driver's seat.

Joe was in the passenger seat. "This is the last farm on Barry's list."

"Look, I know the kid's smart, but you said it yourself," Fred told him. "Sometimes he's chasing flying pigs."

"Well, let's check it out anyway," Joe told him.

They got out of the car.

Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab

Barry walked in. He noticed that the skylight was leaking with rain, walking toward the table, taking off his jacket, turning on the TV.

Woman: (on TV) "I'm Linda Park, and we're live outside STAR Labs despite the weather, which will only get worse. The torrential downpour has in no way affected the particle accelerator which is up and running smoothly, according to STAR Labs CEO Harrison Wells."

Barry walked toward his crime board, rolling up his map, revealing articles about his mother's death and father's arrest underneath it, putting up another article clip. He looked at the articles sadly.

Farm - Barn

Fred and Joe waked in, shining flashlights.

They saw a car covered in a tarp, walking closer.

Joe pulled up the trap, looking at the car type on the front bumper.

It was a Shelby Mustang GT500.

"Well..." Fred trailed off.

"Mardon," Joe told him.

The Mardon brothers, Clyde and Mark, started firing at the partner detectives from the hayloft above.

Fred and Joe took cover, firing back.

Clyde and Mark jumped down.

"We've got a plane to catch," Mark told them.

Clyde and Mark fired at them, running outside.

Outside

Fred and Joe followed the Mardon brothers out into the rain.

Clyde and Mark ran toward the plane.

Mark got in to drive.

Clyde fired at Fred, shooting him in the neck, running to get into the plane.

Joe fired at the plane.

Mark flew them into the sky.

Joe turned back to Fred, kneeling next to him. "Chyre, hang in there."

Fred bled out from the gunshot wound in his throat.

Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab

Barry was watching the news.

Linda: (on TV) "Wait. We are now being told to evacuate the facility. The storm may of caused a malfunction to the primary cooling system. Officials are now trying to shut down the particle accelerator, but so far have been unable to regain control of the--"

The power shut down.

Barry frowned in confusion.

Vera's Loft

Vera fixed the settings on the amp her guitar was hooked up to, strumming a new set of chords, singing the same song as before, different verse. "Do you understand who I am? / Do you wanna know? / Can you really see through me now? / I'm about to go / But just tonight I won't leave / And I'll lie, and you'll believe / Just tonight, I will see / It's all because of me."

There was a large blast of light in the sky seen through the wall of windows, seen in the distance. A wave started to radiate out in all directions.

Vera stopped playing and singing in shock.

City Streets

The particle accelerator exploded. Dark matter vibrated out from the explosion, spreading over Central City, causing the power to go out.

Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab

Barry was watching through the windows, in shock.

Farm

The dark matter vibration wave tore the plane the Mardon brothers were in apart, making it fall.

Joe was watching in shock.

Central City Police Department - Barry's Lab

Barry walked toward the chains that controlled the skylight, pulling on them to close it completely.

Liquid was starting to float all around him.

Barry heard thunder from the sky above, looking up through the skylight.

Lightning struck down through the skylight, striking Barry, throwing him into a shelf of chemicals, making him fall. Red energy seemed to be passing underneath his skin.

Vera's Loft

Vera was standing, holding the guitar, watching the dark matter wave reached her loft from the outside.

The amp started to spark and shake.

Vera put the guitar down cautiously, trying to turn the amp off.

It didn't work. The amp just kept sparking and sparking until it caught fire.

Vera grabbed a blanket, tossing it over the flames in hopes of putting it out.

The fire spread dangerously, flickering and dancing around.

Vera walked toward the wall, grabbing the fire extinguisher, aiming it at the flames, dousing them with the foam.

It did nothing to stop the fire.

Vera used everything that was in the fire extinguisher, but the flames kept on.

Nothing could stop them from spreading toward Vera, trapping her where she was, almost like the only thing it was trying to destroy was her.

Vera measured the height of the flames, knowing that she could jump over them, steeling herself, leaping above the flames, trying to get to the other side.

A beam from above fell from the ceiling above, ramming into Vera, making her fall into the flames on the floor.

Vera caught on fire, burning, standing, flailing wildly, waving around desperately to try to get the flames to stop, screaming in agony. The fire and flames ate and lapped away at Vera until she fell into darkness.

Central City Hospital - Emergency Room

Vera was being wheeled into the hospital on a stretcher, burned beyond compare.

"I got 24 year old female, Vera Mitchell," the EMT told them.

"What the hell happened to her?" a doctor asked.

"Her loft caught on fire with her inside," the EMT answered. "The apartment manager heard her screaming."

"How's she still alive?" a nurse asked. "She looks like death."

Surgery Room

Vera was placed onto the operating table.

"Go," the doctor told them. "No heartbeat. CBC Chem 24, type and cross four. Bag her. Clear."

The doctors were in the process of trying to bring Vera back.

Emergency Room

Iris ran inside, seeing Barry on a stretcher being wheeled inside.

A nurse walked toward Iris, trying to guide her out. "You can't be here."

"I'm family," Iris told her, resisting the constant urge for her to leave. "Barry!"

Nine Months Later

Day Two

Morning - STAR Labs - Outside

STAR Labs was surrounded with a fence with signs.

DANGER

HAZARDOUS LOCATION

NO TRESPASSING

Inside - Cortex

(Song:) Just Tonight - The Pretty Reckless

Caitlin, Aurora and Cisco were seen through cloudy eyes. Their voices were distant, and so was the music.

"What are you doing?" Aurora asked.

"She likes this song," Cisco told them.

"How could you possibly know that?" Caitlin asked.

"I checked her Facebook page," Cisco answered. "I mean, she doesn't do much, and she doesn't reveal much, but just enough. She can hear everything, right?"

Vera was the one they were standing around, in a hospital bed.

"Auditory functions are the last sensory faculties to degenerate," Aurora told them.

Cisco walked toward Emma and Logan, starting to sing. "Just tonight, I will stay / And we'll throw it all away / When the light hits your eyes, it's telling me I'm right / And if I / I am through / It's all because of you / Just tonight." Vera gasped awake, jolting up. Cisco gasped in shock. "Oh, my God."

(Song Ends)

Vera looked around the Cortex, realizing she  was hooked up to machines on the patient bed. "Where am I?"

Logan looked toward the door, calling out of the room. "She's up."

Emma spoke into the comms on the computer. "Dr. Wells, get down to the Cortex now."

Aurora shone a light into Vera's eyes. "BP 170 over 110, pulse 120. Pupils equally reactive to light." Vera pulled the straps of the machine off of her face and chest. "Look at me. Look at me."

Vera started to sit up in annoyance.

"Whoa, whoa," Logan told her. "Relax. Everything's okay. You're at STAR Labs."

Vera frowned in confusion. "STAR Labs? Who are you?"

"I'm Logan Hemmings," Logan answered. "That's Cisco Ramon, Emma West, Dr. Caitlin Snow, and Dr. Aurora Swan."

Caitlin held up a plastic cup for Vera to see. "I need you to urinate in this."

Emma took the cup from Caitlin, giving her a look. "Not right this second."

Vera stood. "What is happening? Why am I not dead?"

"What do you remember?" Caitlin asked.

"The fire," Vera answered. "I couldn't put it out. It just kept coming. I almost made it out, but..."

Vera stopped when she realized that no part of her body was burned or scarred, walking toward the lab table in confusion, looking into the metal to look at the reflection, seeing no evidence of the fire.

Caitlin walked closer. "Your muscles should be atrophied, but instead, they're in a chronic state of cellular regeneration."

Aurora pulled Vera toward a chair. "Come here. Have a seat." Vera reluctantly sat down. "You were in a coma."

"For how long?" Vera asked.

Dr. Harrison Wells rolled his electronic wheelchair into the room. "Nine months." They looked at him. "Welcome back, Miss Mitchell. We have a lot to discuss."

Corridor

Vera was dressed in STAR Labs sweats, walking down a large corridor with Wells. "It's just all really hard to..."

"Process?" Wells finished. "Yes, I know. STAR Labs has not been operational since FEMA categorized us as a Class 4 hazardous location." They walked past a broken cell cage door with the name Grodd attached to it. "Seventeen people died that night, many more injured, myself amongst them."

They stopped at a railing overlooking where the particle accelerator.

Vera looked over the railing to see it completely destroyed, as if a bomb had went off, only what looked like a chamber left unscathed. "Jesus. What happened?"

"Nine months ago, the particle accelerator went online exactly as planned," Wells explained. "For 45 minutes, I had achieved my life's dream. And then... then there was an anomaly. The electron volts became unmeasurable, the ring under us popped. Energy from that detonation was thrown into the sky, and than, in turn, seeded a storm that created a power malfunction."

"That resulted in blowing my guitar amp and starting the fire," Vera finished.

"That's right," Wells told her. "I was recovering myself... when I heard about you. And another coma patient much like yourself. Barry Allen. He was struck by lightning."

Flashback - Nine Months Ago

Night - Central City Hospital - Emergency Room

Barry was lying in a coma in bed, surrounded by doctors.

Emma, Iris and Joe were watching worriedly.

Wells: (voice over) "The hospital was undergoing unexplainable power outages every time Barry was going into cardiac arrest, which was actually a misdiagnosis, because, you see, he wasn't flatlining, Vera. His heartbeat was moving too fast for the EKG to register it."

Now

Day - STAR Labs - Cortex

Wells and Vera made their way through a set of automatic opening double doors.

"Mr. Allen was in a coma for four months," Wells told her. "He may have been struck by lightning, but he survived, and to this day, he's still walking and talking."

They walked toward Aurora, Emma, Caitlin, Cisco and Logan.

Caitlin handed coffee to Wells, looking at Vera. "And by that, he means Barry talks a lot."

Cisco walked closer, smirking at something ironic. "And fast."

Caitlin hit Cisco in the shoulder, giving him a look.

Cisco looked at Caitlin innocently.

"How did you know about me?" Vera asked.

"Emma?" Aurora asked.

"I was in the hospital with my family and with Barry," Emma told her. "Barry grew up with my family, so we were there to make sure that he got better. That was where I heard about you. It was my idea to bring both of you into STAR Labs so we could save your lives."

Wells nodded. "The hospital gave us permission to bring you here, where we were able to stabilize you. You had no relatives, and the hospital couldn't keep you there if they thought you were going to continue to die, so we were allowed to bring you here."

Vera was thinking, trying to remain calm. "You said I was in the coma for nine months. What's today's date?"

"October 7," Aurora answered. "Ironically, you woke up three days before your birthday."

Logan nodded awkwardly but trying to lighten the mood a bit. "Happy early birthday."

Vera was overwhelmed, shaking her head. "I need to go."

Vera walked toward the door.

"No, you can't," Logan told her.

Wells turned his chair to face her. "Logan's right. Now that you're awake, we need to do tests. You're still going through changes. There's so much we don't know."

"I'm find, really," Vera told them. "I feel normal. Thank you for saving my life, but this is about all that I can take right now."

Vera walked out, leaving.

"But..." Logan trailed off.

"Let her go," Aurora told them. They looked at her. "She needs time to deal before she can take anymore."

Jitters

(Song:) Girls Chase Boys - Ingrid Michaelson

Iris was working at the cafe, pouring coffee for a woman. She looked up, seeing that Barry was walking in. She smiled, walking closer, hugging him.

Barry returned the embrace.

They pulled away.

"Hey, are you okay?" Iris asked.

"Iris, when are you going to stop asking me that?" Barry asked. "I woke up four months ago. I'm fine."

"I watched you die, Barry," Iris told him. "You kept dying. Your heart kept stopping. I'm never going to stop asking if you're okay."

Barry put Iris's hand on his chest over his heart. "It's still beating."

"It feels really fast," Iris told him.

A woman backed into a waitress accidentally, making her lose control of the tray of food and drinks in her hands. "Oops."

Barry looked toward them.

Everything around them seemed to slow down to where it was like nothing was moving.

The tray fell to the floor. The glass shattered.

Iris turned to the waitress. "Are you okay, Tracy?"

"Yeah," Tracy answered. "I got it."

Barry's phone vibrated. He looked at the text from Aurora.

She's awake.

Barry was surprised, looking at Iris. "I have to go. But I'll see you later, okay?"

Iris nodded. "Of course."

Barry walked out, leaving.

Iris watched him go.

(Song Ends)

Loft Building - Outside

Vera walked toward the apartment loft building, looking up at the floor where hers was, or where it was supposed to be. She didn't know what happened to it during or after the fire. She sighed, walking inside.

Inside

Vera took the elevator up to the floor, walking out of the elevator. She walked toward her loft door, hesitating, sighing, opening the door.

Vera's Loft

Vera walked in, looking around in shock.

The loft was in perfect shape, as if nothing had happened. It looked like whatever had been destroyed in the fire had been replaced by bigger and better things.

Vera looked around numbly, too overwhelmed to feel anything but a little relief that she still had a home that still had her things.

The loft building owner walked in. "We didn't know that you would wake." Vera looked at her. "But STAR Labs kept paying for us to keep this place sealed just for you so that you would have a place come back to when you woke up." The woman stepped down the stairs, walking closer. "They were sure they could fix you. I'm sorry I doubted you, Vera."

"It's okay, Cecily," Vera told her. "Thank you."

"Why didn't STAR Labs call?" Cecily asked.

"I just woke up," Vera answered.

"And you just walked out," Cecily concluded. Vera shrugged slightly, looking away. "Should you even be on your feet?"

"I'm okay," Vera told her. She looked around the large loft, reconsidering. "Actually, you know what? I'm just gonna go to the fire station. See if I still have a job."

Vera turned around, walking toward the door.

"You should be resting," Cecily told her.

"Don't worry," Vera told her. "I won't be working."

Vera walked out, leaving.

Bank

A man in a baseball cap that hid his face was standing at the counter opposite of a woman, writing down a note.

"How can I help you today?" the woman asked. The man handed her the note. The woman picked it up, reading aloud. "'This is a robbery'. Is this supposed to be a joke?"

The man looked up, revealing he was Clyde Mardon. "You tell me."

Clyde held his hands up, forming fog around the bank.

Everyone was in shock, murmuring.

Fire Department

Vera walked into the fire station slowly, looking around cautiously.

Everybody was bristling around, watching a speeding light racing across the screen of the TVs on the news, something about 'The Streak', showing Aurora/Glacia using ice to stop criminals, and Logan/Guardian using super strength, and debating if it was a mass hallucination, photoshop, or if it was reality.

One by one, they started to notice Vera, shocked and relieved, starting to clap and cheer.

Vera managed a small smile.

The cheering and the clapping came to an end.

Man 1 embraced Vera. "Oh, you scared the hell out of us, kid."

Vera pulled away.

"That was quite the nap you took there, baby face,"  Man 2 told her. "And you still look 12."

Everyone chuckled.

"You have the strangest luck with fire, Vera," a woman told her, embracing Vera, pulling away. Vera's hand felt hot. She looked down, seeing barely noticeable sparks tingling from her fingertips. Vera frowned in confusion. The sparks faded into nothing. No one noticed anything. Vera was starting to think she hadn't seen it at all. "You look okay. Are you really?"

Vera nodded. "Yeah. I just... it's all so... overwhelming."

"Should you even be here right now?" the woman asked.

"I'm good," Vera told them. "Really. And I get it. You're worried. So no work for me today. I just wanna know if I still can after what happened."

The woman put a hand on Vera's shoulder. "Of course you can." She took her hand away in confusion. "Wow. You are really warm. You sure you're okay?"

Vera nodded barely. "Yeah, Rose. I'm good."

Vera felt the sparks coming from her fingers again, looking down, seeing that they were more prominent than before, closing her fist before anyone saw.

"Vera, you okay?" Rose asked.

Vera looked up. "Yeah. I just... need some air."

Alley

Vera walked outside, into the alley out back, looking at her hand. Sparks were really starting pour from her fingertips, looking like little specks of fire. The more the sparks fell, the larger they got, until it all seemed to blur into one stream.

Barry walked closer.

Vera hid her hand behind her back instantly, but she didn't know how to make the fiery stream stop.

"Looks like you could use some help," Barry told her.

"Who are you?" Vera asked.

"Barry," Barry answered. "Barry Allen."

Vera looked at him in confusion. "I--I heard about you. From Dr. Wells. I'm not going back to STAR Labs."

"You might need to," Barry told her. Vera shook her head. "Let me see your hand." Vera hesitated, taking it out from behind her back. The fiery stream was still falling from her fingertips. When they hit the ground, they dissipated. "It's okay. I didn't know how to control my power at first, either. But then, after a little while, it was so natural it was easy."

"Your power?" Vera repeated. She gazed off, remembering. "Wells said that you were like me."

"Well, not exactly," Barry told her, zooming around in a blur of lightning. Vera looked around in shock, only able to see the streak. Barry stopped in place. "This is what I can do. Why don't you try to see what you can do?" He looked at the fire streaming from her fingertips. "Try to stop it. Be calm. Be relaxed. And tell it what to do."

Vera looked at her hand, calming down, feeling numb and at peace when she looked into the fire streaming out of her fingertips and dissipating against the ground, closing her fist, making the stream be hidden against her hand. When she opened her fist, the fire was no longer stream, and nothing was happening.

Vera looked at Barry. "What's happening to me?"

"I'll explain everything, if you let me," Barry told her. "And if you let me take you back to STAR Labs. They can help. We can help."

Vera took a deep breath, considering, nodding.

Ferris Air Landing Strip

There were targets and dummies and other things to help test this out.

Wells, Caitlin, Emma and Cisco were sitting at the desk they were using to chronicle everything, using a power generator to do so.

Barry, Vera, Aurora and Logan walked down the landing strip toward them.

"Aurora and Logan have powers, too," Barry told her.

Vera looked at Aurora and Logan. "Really? What do you do?"

Aurora held her hands up for her to see, forming ice into her hands. Fog was emanating from them like dry ice.

Vera was surprised.

Aurora clearly had nine months to learn the extent of her powers, and she was able to focus on her body temperature to make it fall to absolute zero, as the surrounding air in contact with her was similarly lowered. Just as condensed moisture formed frost, this moisture formed an icy covering which encompassed her entire body. It also obscured her facial features.

Vera was in shock to see that. "Whoa."

Aurora raised her body temperature to normal level, for her (which was still cold to anyone else), allowing the ice form to fade away until she looked normal. "One way to put it."

Emma chuckled. "Yeah, that was a neat trick Aurora learned about three months ago. Logan?"

Logan lifted a steel crate alone with super strength.

Vera was in shock, chuckling.

Logan tossed the steel crate down the landing strip, making it land on the ground next to the targets.

Cisco laughed. "Yeah, Logan's a showoff. Not much more than Aurora though."

Aurora tilted her head at Cisco.

Logan smirked sarcastically, nodding.

Aurora looked at Vera. "Emma will be monitoring your energy output. Caitlin, your vitals."

Vera gestured to Cisco. "What does he do?"

Cisco stood, walking around the table. "I make the toys, man. Check it." He picked up a device from the table, holding it up. "This is a two-way headset with a camera I modified, typically designed to combat battlefield impulse noise." He gestured to Logan. "Or in Logan's case, potential sonic booms. But Barry has the potential for that too with his speed. Which would be awesome. And it is also typically designed to withstand intense heat or freeze range. Because you..." He put a hand on Vera's arm. "Are hot to the touch." He put a hand on Aurora's arm. "Just like Aurora is cold as ice." He smirked, taking his hands away. "Literally."

"Cisco, don't scare her away again," Emma told him.

Caitlin stood, walking toward Vera with a tablet.

Barry, Logan and Cisco walked toward the table, Wells and Emma.

Caitlin checked Vera's vitals. "Finally. Someone else who isn't a ball of sunshine around here."

"What do you mean?" Vera asked.

Caitlin sighed, looking over to the boys and Emma. "I mean... Aurora and I are the only ones not overly optimistic about everything that goes on around here." She looked at Vera. "And it is really good to talk to another girl that doesn't smile too much, either."

"Yeah, well, death of my entire family by fire at age ten, an entire life of running away from foster care families with anger and the urge to be alone, while making myself become the smartest I could be so I could find out what happened that night, including getting a job as an analyst at the fire department, and then just waking up from a coma because I was set on fire..." Vera trailed off, shaking  her head, sighing. "So this blank expression kind of feels like the way to go."

Caitlin was sympathetic. "My once promising career in bioengeering is over. My boss is in a wheelchair for life."

"I'm not much of a doctor anymore," Aurora told her. "The explosion that is responsible for the fire and the lightning strike that put you and Barry into comas also killed my fiancee. We get it. Believe me."

Vera looked down, barely nodding.

Caitlin walked back toward the desk.

"Miss Mitchell, while I am extremely eager to determine your full range of abilities, I do caution restraint," Wells told her.

Vera nodded. "Yeah." Barry smirked, scoffing softly, zooming down the landing strip, reaching the other side in less than half a second, whooping loudly, clapping. Cisco laughed, giving him a thumbs up. Logan smirked. Vera looked at Aurora, pointing at Barry. "I'm guessing he doesn't know what caution is."

Aurora shook her head. "No, he does not."

Barry started to zoom back toward them.

Cisco was measuring the speed with a device. "He just passed 200 knots per hour."

"I just had fire shooting out of my hand when I should have died nine months ago," Vera told them. "And I saw a girl create ice and a guy lift more than 2 tons. I can accept that anything is possible."

Logan smirked.

Barry came to a stop next to Vera and Aurora. "I showed all of you what I can do. You're up. Show us what you got."

Vera raised her eyebrows barely. "Okay."

Vera walked toward the targets and the dummies, stopping on a line that was taped far away from it to measure distance.

Cisco laughed. "All right. Let's do this!"

Vera took a deep breath, raising her arm toward one of the targets that had a lightning strike on it, calming herself down like she had before to make the fire stop in the alley, focusing on telling it what to do. The fire started out as sparks radiating out of her fingertips, transitioning into the stream that shot into the target. She lowered her arm in shock.

Logan was in shock. "Whoa."

Cisco laughed. "Awesome."

Aurora held out her hand toward the fire, as her hands wafted with mist like dry ice, and she shot an incredible amount of ice out of her hand onto the fire, consuming it completely, freezing it in place.

Vera was stunned.

"All right, Vera," Wells told her. "Try again."

Vera looked back at the others, nodding barely, raising her arm toward another dummy, focusing like she did before. It was easier and faster to do than the first time, but still taking its time to morph from sparks into fire that shot into the dummy, making it burst into flames. Vera looked into the flames, lost for a moment.

Flashback 2 - 14 Years Ago

September 6, 2000

Starling City, Washington

Night - Mitchell House - Hallway

There was a fire in progress. Smoke was everywhere.

Young Vera ran down the steps, falling into the wall, coughing due to the smoke, looking into the living room that was covered in flames. "Mommy!"

A man in a yellow suit within red lightning zoomed past the flames, toward Young Vera.

A hurl of fire shot the man, slamming him into the door, making him burst out of the house and leave.

Young Vera cried and coughed, slowly falling unconscious due to the smoke.

Now

Day - Ferris Air Landing Strip

The targets were on fire.

Vera was still reliving that night as she absentmindedly raised her arm toward a group of water barrels, shooting fire toward it.

The fire was strong and fast thing time, and when it hit the barrel in the middle, it spread over all of them. The fire was so strong that it made water explode out of the barrels. The water evaporated with the fire, making both dissipate into nothing.

It was that that brought Vera out of the memory.

Vera was in shock, lowering her arm.

Aurora used a long, cold stream of ice to put out the fire, turning to Vera in confusion, knowing that she had lost herself in the moment.

Central City Police Department

Joe was interviewing witnesses from the bank robbery.

Singh walked toward him. "What is all this?"

"Witnesses from the robbery at Gold City Bank," Joe answered. "Perp made off with 200 grand more or less."

"Catch these guys," Singh told him.

The woman that had been informed of the robbery by Clyde was sitting down with Eddie. "The windows blew in. It was like a hurricane. Everyone ran for cover."

"We're gonna have a sketch artist work with you, if you feel up to it," Eddie told her. He stood, walking toward Joe. "Third robbery in a month where a freak storm proceeds it. Sounds like one of those Wide World of Weird cases Barry's obsessed with."

"He's not obsessed," Joe told him.

"Guess you haven't read his blog," Eddie told him.

"Security cameras at the bank?" Joe asked.

"Apparently all shorted out," Eddie answered.

"Well, we got a bunch of witnesses here," Joe told him. "They all have cellphones."

Later

Eddie and Joe were talking to a man, seeing his video from his phone on a computer.

"The sky went black, and then, boom, outside was inside," the man told them. "Man, it was like there was a thunderstorm in the bank."

"Vukuvich, suspect is driving a black Mustang," Joe told him. "Partial plate six-kilo-Charlie-three."

Singh looked at Vukuvich. "Put out an APB."

"Copy that," Vukuvich told them, walking away.

Joe turned back to the video.

STAR Labs - Cortex

The team was at STAR Labs now, in the Cortex room.

Vera was sitting on a table.

Emma, Caitlin and Aurora sat at the desk with the computers.

Barry, Cisco and Logan stood around.

Vera looked at Barry, Aurora and Logan. "What else can you do?"

"Heal," Logan answered. "When Barry first woke up, he found out about his power. Aurora and I worked here, and we were caught in two nasty accidents ourselves that we had to be treated for. We were actually here when we discovered our powers."

"We went out to the landing strip, and I was still learning," Barry told her. "I didn't know how to stop, and I ran into the brick wall at the very end of the strip. Got a broken arm, but it healed in three hours. Electro and phyiskinesis. But I have about as many weaknesses as I do powers."

Vera nodded, overwhelmed. "Wow. Okay."

Emma gave Barry a look for overwhelming her, shaking her head. "Barry."

Wells rolled his chair closer, looking at Vera. "Obviously, you will have different abilities tied to your different power, but you will be able to have some of the same ones, as we have seen. Superhuman healing, agility, reflexes, stamina, endurance and accelerated perception. Are the ones that you will all likely have."

Vera nodded, looking down.

"What happened out there today?" Aurora asked. "You were controlling it very well, and then something caused you to lose focus."

Vera looked up hesitantly. "I started remembering something. I'm originally from Starling City." The others knew this from Vera's files. "When I was ten, my family died in a fire. The... the alarm sounded, smoke was everywhere. In every room, they were all burning. My mom, my dad, my brother, my sister. And I saw this flashing red streak, and a man in yellow inside of it. Foster care families thought I was crazy. Sent me every therapist they could think of. And the cops had no idea how the fire started. Said it was unexplainable."

Emma looked at her in concern. "When was this?"

"14 years ago in Starling City," Vera answered. "September 6, 2000. I only ended up in Central City because of the foster care system."

Barry and Emma exchanged a surprised look.

Barry processed. "Wow. Earlier that year, March 18... was when my mother was murdered." Vera looked up in surprise, sympathetic. "I was 11. It was late. The sound woke me up. I came downstairs, and... I saw what looked like a ball of lightning. Inside the lightning, there was a man. He killed my mom. They arrested my dad. He's still sitting in Iron Heights for her murder. Everyone, the cops, the shrinks, they all told me what I saw was impossible. But I'm starting to think that the man who killed my mom was like me."

Wells looked at Vera. "Well, I think I can say unequivocally, nothing, not a thing, is unexplainable." He looked between Vera, Barry, Aurora and Logan. "And that you are all one of a kind."

Wells glanced at Emma, Cisco and Caitlin before looking away.

Jitters - Outside

Iris walked outside to join Eddie. "Can I help you, Detective?"

"You can stop acting like you can't stand me when your dad's around," Eddie told her.

Iris smiled. "Aw. I like having a boyfriend who isn't shot to death."

They smiled, kissing, pulling away.

Iris looked toward Emma who was waiting.

Street

Iris and Emma were walking down the sidewalk.

"You can't tell Dad," Iris told her. "He doesn't know about me and Eddie."

"Doesn't seem like anyone's in on the secret," Emma told her.

"I was gonna tell you," Iris told her.

"No, I should've seen it," Emma told her. "When Barry was in the hospital, Eddie covered Dad's shifts so we could all be with Barry. You said that you were gonna thank him with a cup of coffee."

Iris nodded. "Yeah. Things just kind of happened. And it's good."

"No, it's good, Iris," Emma told her. "I just don't like having to lie to Dad."

A police car drove closer, chasing Clyde in his car, nearly crashing into Iris and Emma.

Iris and Emma dove to the side of the road, narrowly avoiding being hit, landing on the ground.

Clyde crashed his car on the side of the road, flipping down the way, coming to a stop.

Iris turned to her sister worriedly. "Emma?"

Clyde got out of the car, groaning in pain.

The police officer got out of his car, aiming his gun at Clyde. "Hey! Mardon!"

Clyde turned back, raising his arms to his sides.

Emma and Iris stood in confusion.

Clyde summoned fog all over the street, making it surround all of them.

Emma and Iris looked around in shock, turning toward Clyde as he disappeared in the fog.

Emma, Iris and the officer got separated in the fog.

Emma looked around, trying to find her sister. "Iris!"

Iris was trying to find her. "Emma?"

A car crashed into Clyde's wrecked car, causing an explosion that threw the car toward Emma, nearly falling onto her.

Logan arrived, running in front of Emma, using his super strength to catch the car before it fell onto them.

Emma was in shock, breathing heavily in fear.

Logan tossed the car down, turning to Emma in concern. "You okay? You're okay."

Emma nodded barely, still in shock.

The place was a crime scene.

The police were wheeling the man that had been in the car away.

Emma and Iris stood at the side of the road, watching.

"That poor man," Iris told her. "That way that fog came in, I have never seen anything like it."

Joe walked closer worriedly. "Emma. Iris."

"We're all right, Dad," Emma told him.

"What were you thinking, being out here?" Joe asked. "I told you, when you see danger, you run the other way. You're not cops."

"Because you wouldn't let us," Iris told him.

"You're damn right," Joe told them.

"Dad, I know who did this," Emma told him.

"Really?" Joe asked.

"Yes," Emma answered. "It's Clyde Mardon. I know, everybody thinks he died in the plane crash after the STAR Labs explosion, but he's alive. You can believe me, or not, but I have a job to get to."

Emma walked away toward Logan.

Emma and Logan walked away, leaving.

Joe and Iris watched them go, confused.

STAR Labs - Cortex

The team was talking about what happened.

"So, we weren't the only ones affected by the particle accelerator explosion, are we?" Vera asked.

Wells between them. "We don't know for sure."

Vera stood. "You said the city was safe. That there was no residual danger. But that's not true. What really happened that night?"

"Well, the accelerator went active," Wells told them. "We all felt like heroes, and then..." He tapped on the tablet connected to his chair. A video of the machine appeared on the TV screen. "It all went wrong. The dimensional barrier ruptured, unleashing unknown energies into our world. Antimatter, dark energy, X-elements..."

"Those are all theoretical," Vera told them.

"And how theoretical are the four of you?" Wells asked. "We mapped the dispersion throughout and around Central City, though we have no way of knowing exactly what or who was exposed. We've been searching for other metahumans like yourselves."

"Metahumans?" Vera repeated.

"That's what we're calling them," Caitlin explained.

Vera took a deep breath, nodding, closing her eyes, hanging her head.

"I saw one today," Emma told them. "He's a bank robber. He can control the weather."

Cisco smiled. "This just keeps getting cooler."

"This is not cool," Emma told them. "All right? A man died. I almost died, and I would have if it wasn't for Logan. Mardon must have gotten his powers the same way you four did. From the dark matter. He's still out there."

"We have to stop him before he hurts anyone else," Aurora told them.

"How are we supposed to do that?" Vera asked.

"You can do this, Vera," Wells told her. "I am responsible for all of this. So many people have been hurt because of me. When I looked at the four of you, all I saw were more potential victims of my hubris. And, yes, I created this madness. But you, Aurora, Logan and Barry? You can stop it, Vera. You can do this. But you don't have to. You can walk away if it is truly what you want. But I'm not sure that you know what you want. Do you?"

Vera didn't answer, looking down.

Barry was thinking to himself.

Flashback 3 - 14 Years Ago

March 18, 2000

Night - Allen House - Outside

The place was a crime scene.

Young Barry ran up to the house.

Inside - Living Room

Nora's body laid on the floor.

Henry was being arrested. "I didn't do it. I swear to God, I didn't do this."

"Dad, why are they taking you?" Young Barry asked.

"What will happen to my son?" Henry asked.

"Dad!" Young Barry told him.

"Barry!" Henry told him.

The police took Henry out of the house.

Young Barry walked further into the room, seeing Nora's body on the floor.

Joe was kneeling next to her.

"Joe, you know these people?" a man asked.

"My daughter's best friends with their kid," Joe answered.

"I'm sorry," the man told him.

Young Barry walked toward Nora's body, kneeling next to her, pulling back the bag. "Mom."

Joe knelt next to him. "Barry."

Young Barry started to cry. "Mom!"

Joe covered Nora's head with the bag.

Now

Night - STAR Labs - Cortex

Vera was facing away from the others, turning to face them, thinking. "You do this a lot? Do things that are jobs for the police? You go out there, playing heroes, and stop bad things from happening?"

"We're responsible for this," Barry told her. "For him. And the police can't handle this. So who can?" Vera looked down. "We can. I've spent my whole life searching for the impossible. Never imaging that I would become the impossible. Logan, Aurora and I are friends with Sapphire and the Arrow, and they said they don't think that the bolt of lightning didn't struck me. It chose me. That ice chose Aurora. That strength chose Logan. Maybe fire chose you."

Cisco nodded in agreement. "I'll say."

"I'm just not sure that I'm like you," Vera told them. "I don't know if I can do this. I'm not a hero. I'm just a girl that should have burned alive."

"No, you're not," Logan told her. "You're better. You can be better."

"We can inspire people," Aurora told them. "Watching over this city like guardian angels. Making a difference. Saving people."

Vera hesitated, sighing, knowing that this was what she had been waiting for. For something that she could do. For something that could help her figure out what happened that night 14 years ago. She stood. "What do I have to do?"

Logan smirked. "Wear a mask."

Vera looked at Emma and Caitlin.

Emma and Caitlin nodded.

Vera took a deep breath, nodding in agreement.

Barry, Vera, Aurora, Logan, Emma, Caitlin and Cisco stood in a room with screens on the walls and a table in the middle of the room with two police evidence boxes on the table, and some files and packets.

"I've been going over unsolved cases from the past nine months," Barry told them. "And there's been a sharp increase in unexplained deaths and missing people. Our metahumans have been busy." Vera looked at Aurora, Logan, Emma, Caitlin and Cisco. "Don't blame them. You know they didn't mean for any of this to happen. And they all lost something." Caitlin and Emma looked at Aurora. Aurora looked down. Vera looked at Barry. "But we need your help to catch Mardon and anyone else out there like him. We can't do it without you."

Vera nodded.

Cisco smirked. "If you're gonna do this, I have something that might help."

Vera / Pyra:

Aurora / Glacia:

Logan / Guardian:

Other Room

The team walked in, looking at the suits for the Flash, Pyra, Glacia and Guardian.

Cisco looked at Vera. "I made these three suits a long time ago." He stood next to Vera/Pyra's suit. "And this is something I've been playing with in case you woke up."

Vera didn't know how to react to it. "How is it going to help me?"

"It's made of reinforced tri-polymer," Cisco told her. "It's heat and abrasive resistant to withstand the temperature coming out of your body, and withstand the fire that would be coming out of your hands. Plus, it has built-in sensors so we can track your vitals and stay in contact with you from here. The other suits have the same properties, but Barry's is aerodynamic designed, so it can help him maintain control on his high-velocity speeds. Aurora's is very freeze-resistant, as she is literally cold to the touch, and she becomes colder when she uses her powers and makes the air around her colder when she does." Aurora formed ice in her hands. Cisco exhaled, revealing that his breath was visible. "Like the smartass ice princess just showed you." Aurora smirked, letting the ice melt. "And Logan's is tear-resistant, because with the strength he has to use, he might tear a few. This one's for you."

"Thanks," Vera told him. She looked at Caitlin and Emma. "How do we find Mardon?"

Emma walked closer with a tablet. "I retasked STAR Labs' satellite to track meteorological abnormalities over Central City." Logan, Cisco and Barry walked closer to look at the tablet. "We just got a ping. Atmospheric pressure dropped 20 millibars in a matter of seconds." Vera stepped closer to her suit. "I've tracked it to a farm just west of the city."

Farm

Joe and Eddie got out of their car.

"I'm not saying Mardon is alive," Joe told him. "But if he was, this is the last place him and his brother hid out. Let's go."

Barn

Eddie and Joe walked in, aiming their guns.

Clyde was waiting for them, sitting down with his back to them.

"Mardon?" Joe asked. "On your feet, hands on your head."

"You got me," Clyde told them sarcastically. "The night of the storm, after STAR Labs blew, after our plane went down, and I woke up on the ground alive, when I saw what I could do, I understood. I am God."

"Shut the hell up," Joe told him.

Clyde stood, raising his hands.

"Turn around," Eddie told him.

Clyde summoned fog, making it strong and dense enough to push Eddie and Joe back through the air, making them fall. Eddie was unconscious. "Do you think your guns can stop God?"

"Why in the hell would God need to rob banks?" Joe asked.

"You're right," Clyde told him. "I've been thinking too small."

Clyde started to use his power to create a tornado.

Joe stood, running toward the unconscious Eddie, helping him out.

Outside

Joe helped Eddie run outside, putting his unconscious partner on the ground next to a car, kneeling next to him.

The tornado tore through the barn, outside.

A large pile of steel was picked up by the chaotic winds of the tornado, thrown toward Eddie and Joe, about to slam down onto them, threatening to kill them.

Logan/Guardian appeared next to them, catching the steel above his head with his super strength, throwing it to the ground.

Joe looked at him in shock.

Barry/Flash, Vera/Pyra and Aurora/Glacia walked closer.

Cisco, Caitlin and Emma were talking to them from STAR Labs.

"Guys," Cisco told them. "This thing's getting closer. Wind speeds are 200 miles per hour and increasing. Can you hear me?"

"Yeah," Logan answered. "Loud and clear."

"If it keeps up, this could become an F-5 tornado," Cisco told them.

"And it's headed towards the city," Barry told them. "How do we stop it? Guys?"

"What if you unravel it?" Caitlin asked.

"How the hell am I gonna do that?" Barry asked.

"Run around it in the opposite direction," Caitlin answered. "Cut off its legs. You'd have to clock 700 miles per hour to do that. Can you do this?"

"No problem," Barry answered. He looked at Logan, Vera and Aurora. "Just hold off Mardon."

They nodded.

Barry zoomed toward the tornado, running around it in the opposite direction at 700 miles per hour.

Clyde walked toward them. "It's time to think big."

"Then show me what you got," Aurora told him.

Clyde made a lightning strike out of the sky toward them.

Vera raised a hand toward the lightning strike, shooting fire toward it, using the ray of fire as a shield. The lightning strike was sent back up into the sky, disappearing.

Aurora and Logan looked at Vera, shocked and impressed that she could do that.

Vera was shocked herself.

Clyde stepped closer. "I didn't think there was anyone else like me."

"I'm not like you," Vera told him. "You're a murderer."

Clyde made another lightning strike lunge toward them. Vera used fire as a deflectant, making it shoot back up into the sky and disappear. Clyde used his power to create fire in front of himself, pushing it toward Vera.

The fire breezed past Vera, over her body, dissipating, without leaving harm.

Vera smirked to herself at the realization that she was now immune to fire since her power was fire.

Clyde was getting angry. "You might be able to fight back with fire." He started to draw the air away from Vera, leaving her airless. "But you need air to make fire. What happens to you if you don't have enough air?"

Vera could still breathe, but the air being taken away from her... it hurt like fading fire. Like she was fading, lowering to her knees in agony.

"Vera?" Caitlin asked worriedly. "Vera!"

"Barry, hurry up, man," Cisco told him.

Aurora shot ice into Clyde's back, making him fall to the ground, forming ice in her hands. Fog emanated from her hands like dry ice. Clyde rolled up to a standing position, turning to Aurora, trying to punch her. Aurora ducked, spinning around him, turning to face him. Clyde turned to face her, trying to punch her. Aurora spun underneath his arms in a circle to make him miss, slamming ice against his chest, making him back away. Clyde tried to punch her. Aurora caught his arm, using the contact to freeze his arm, making him groan in pain, pushing him away.

Logan lifted Clyde from the ground, slamming him down with superstrength, punching him in the face repeatedly, until Clyde seemed to be unconscious.

Vera felt the air rushing back to her, gasping for air in relief.

The tornado finally unraveled due to Barry's spend, making it dissipate in an explosion.

Vera, Aurora and Logan turned to Barry.

Barry smirked.

Logan heard a gun cock, turning to see Clyde aiming a gun at him.

Clyde was shot in the back, falling dead.

Joe had his gun raised, walking closer.

"Guys?" Emma asked.

Barry took off his mask to show Joe who he really was. "It's over. We're okay."

Joe looked at them in shock.

Back in STAR Labs, Emma, Cisco and Caitlin looked at each other, smiling in relief.

Vera was still catching her breath, looking at Clyde's body in front of them, lightly touching the mask, almost about to take it off, but stopped, lowering her hand and leaving the mask on.

Aurora knelt next to her worriedly. "Are you okay?"

Vera nodded. "Yeah. I'm fine."

Logan smiled a small smile.

Day Three

Morning - Farm

The place was a crime scene.

Barry, Joe and Emma were talking.

Joe looked at Emma. "You knew what Barry could do."

Emma nodded. "Yeah."

"It was the lightning bolt?" Joe asked.

"More or less," Emma answered.

"I'm sorry, Barry," Joe told him. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you. And I called you crazy for chasing the impossible. But you really did see something that night your mom died. And your dad is innocent. I need both of you to promise me something. I don't want you telling Iris about anything about this. Any of it. I want her safe. Promise me."

Emma sighed, nodding. "Promise."

Barry nodded. "Yeah."

Emma walked away toward Iris.

Iris walked closer. "What happened here?"

"Just you're everyday bad-guy shootout," Emma told her.

Iris looked at her in confusion.

Iron Heights Prison

Barry was sitting in a seat at the table and glass with a phone.

Henry sat across from him.

They took the phones off the walls to talk to each other.

"Hey, slugger," Henry told him.

Barry smiled. "You've been calling me that since I was 11." Henry chuckled. "Funny thing is I finally got into a fight."

"Did you win?" Henry asked.

"Yeah," Barry answered. "We did." Henry smiled, chuckling. Barry looked at him with tears in his eyes. "You didn't kill Mom. You know I know that, right?

"You believing me is all I need," Henry told him.

"You're not gonna be in here much longer," Barry told him. "Whoever killed Mom... whatever killed her... I think I finally have a way to find them, to stop them."

"Barry, we've talked about this," Henry told him. "It's time to let go. You've got to stop worrying about me... and live your life."

Barry chuckled sadly. "For the first time, I feel like I finally can."

Night - Jitters

Iris and Eddie were on a date, kissing happily.

Iris turned to watch the news.

Barry: (voice over) "The truth is, since the night Mom died, I've been stuck in one place."

Logan's Home - Weight Room

Logan was lying on a bench press, lifting more than 2 tons in weights.

Barry: (voice over) "Missed out on a lot of things."

Vera's Loft

Vera was sitting in her loft, looking at her acoustic guitar, picking it up, starting to play a few cords.

Barry: (voice over) "But I'm different now. I made some new friends."

STAR Labs - Cortex

Cisco, Emma, Aurora and Caitlin were setting up the suits in glass cases at the side of the wall.

Barry: (voice over) "They're helping me find my way. To finally move forward."

Iron Heights Prison

Barry and Henry were still talking.

"You remember when you wanted me to change my name so I wouldn't have to deal with people knowing you're my dad?" Barry asked. Henry nodded, looking down sadly. "I'm glad they know." Barry let a tear fall. "I'm so proud to be your son."

Henry let a tear fall. "I love you, son."

Barry smiled sadly. "I love you, too, Dad."

They each put a hand on the glass for the feeling that they weren't as apart as they thought they were.

Closing

Day - Streets

Barry/Flash was zooming through the streets.

Barry: (voice over) "My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. I am the Flash."

Vera/Pyra was using fire to fly through the sky.

Vera: (voice over) "I'm Vera Mitchell, and I am the fire. I am Pyra."

Aurora/Glacia stood in an abandoned street, kneeling to the ground, touching the cement, using the contact to build a smooth wall of ice over the ground.

Aurora: (voice over) "I'm Aurora Swan. And while Cisco Ramon calls me the ice princess, you can call me Glacia."

Logan/Guardian was keeping a falling bridge together to save everyone on it.

Logan: (voice over) "My name is Logan Hemmings, and I am the strongest man alive. They call me Guardian."

Barry/Vera/Aurora/Logan: (voice over) "Central City is a city of heroes."

1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire"

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in a burning building, a wall of fire was trapping a little girl against the wall.

Vera/Pyra walked through the fire, picking the little girl up, carrying her out.

Iris: (voice over from 1.02 Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire) "There are people out there saving other people."

Vera stood on the roof of the burning building, looking down over the people reuniting with their families in relief and tears of joy that their loves ones were safe.

SO MUCH TO DO

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in Barry's lab, Barry used his super speed to mix up a vial.

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in the Cortex, the team and Joe were talking.

"You already have a job in law enforcement, Barry," Joe told him.

SO LITTLE TIME

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", a line of four perps fired their guns.

Barry zoomed to do something about it.

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in the Cortex, the team, minus Wells, were talking.

"This is what we talked about," Vera told them. "Us using our powers to do good."

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in a plaza, Joe and Barry were talking.

"No more heroics," Joe told him.

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in the Cortex, the team was talking.

Wells looked at Barry, Vera, Aurora and Logan. "Know your limits."

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in the corridor of STAR Labs, Vera was walking. She felt a little dizzy and lightheaded, holding a hand to the wall to stay standing, taking her hand away from the wall, seeing that there was a singed handprint where her hand had been.

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in a warehouse, Barry/Flash and Logan/Guardian were facing off with a man that could clone himself at will.

The clones created an army.

From 1.02 "Strength in Speed, Ice and Fire", in the Cortex, the team was talking.

"Meet Captain Clone," Cisco told them. Aurora looked at him. "Don't worry. I'll come up with something cooler."
