chapter 21 - Foxes and Wolves

Outfits in the external link

From 3.20 "Echo House", outside Eichen House, Scott, Ari, Stacie, Stiles and Sheriff were standing outside the front gate.

Derek: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (Teen Wolf)"

"Why are you putting them in here?" Scott asked.

From 3.18 "Riddled", in the MRI machine, Stiles was being tested.

Sheriff: (voice over from 3.20 Echo House) "I saw two MRIs that looked exactly like my wife's."

From 3.17 "Silverfinger", in the record room of the hospital, Melissa and Macey were looking at Claudia's file.

Sheriff: (voice over from 3.20 Echo House) "And it terrifies me."

From 3.20 "Echo House", in the basement, Malia and Stiles had broken into the wall, looking inside to see the mummified man and the corpse woman's bodies.

"This is them," Stiles told her.

"The Nogitsunes?" Malia asked. Stiles nodded. Malia reached into the wall to grab a picture from the floor, picking it up, showing it to Stiles. "Recognize them?"

"One of them," Stiles answered. "I have to get this to my friends."

From 3.19 "Letharia Vulpina", outside the hospital, Isaac walked into the pool of electrified water, electrocuting himself while he was trying to help.

Void!Stiles: (voice over from 3.19 Letharia Vulpina) "I know Katashi told you what a Nogitsune feeds off of."

From 3.19 "Letharia Vulpina", in the back of the clinic, Void!Stiles drew the sword he had taken from outside, running it through into Ari's stomach while she had been looking at Void!Stacie, making her gasp in pain. He held one of Ari's hands, causing her enough pain to where he was able to steal some of her power, making gold veins trail between their hands, making her grow weaker and sink into his arms.

Void!Stiles: (voice over from Letharia Vulpina) "What is it, Ari?"

Void!Stacie pushed the sword back into Tara's stomach, making her groan in pain, taking each of her shoulders, pushing her back against the table, making the sword hilt behind her push against the table, pushing the sword further through her back and out of her stomach, making her groan a scream of pain.

Ari: (voice over from 3.19 Letharia Vulpina) "Chaos. Strife. Pain."

From 3.18 "Riddled", in the hospital hallway, Noshiko stood in the elevator, facing Void!Stacie and Void!Stiles.

Noshiko looked at Void!Stiles. "You know me."

Void!Stiles nodded. "Noshiko Yukimura. The one who summoned me."

Void!Stacie walked closer. "I was your punishment for summoning him."

From 3.17 "Silverfinger", in the surgery room, Void!Stiles punched his hand into Oni 3's chest, making it glow the same green-yellow color, ripping out a firefly, killing it.

Noshiko: (voice over from 3.18 Riddled) "If the Oni can't defeat you..."

From 3.17 "Silverfinger", in Stacie's hospital room, Void!Stacie sat up in the bed.

Oni 1 reached toward her.

Void!Stacie swung her casted arm through his head hard enough to break the mask over his face, reaching her other hand into the shadows to pull out a firefly, making Oni 1 fade into shadows.

Noshiko: (voice over from 3.18 Riddled) "I know someone who will."

From 3.19 "Letharia Vulpina", in the parking lot of the hospital, Kira carefully pulled the live wire from the air, holding her hand over the lightning flashes, closing her eyes. She opened her eyes, revealing they were glowing a deep, dark gold.

Day One

Morning - Eichen House - Courtyard

Stacie was sitting at a table alone outside, looking down at the tray of food that she was too absorbed in her thoughts to actually eat.

Oliver arrived to sit across from Stacie, smiling.

"Get lost or go to hell," Stacie told him, starting to stand.

Oliver reached out to grab her wrist to stop her. "I'm sorry about what I did. I don't remember most of it. It's kind of like a dream."

"Huh," Stacie told him with bitter, sarcastic curiosity. "Lucky you, 'cause I remember every second of you holding a drill to my friend's head in the basement to convince me and my twin brother to let in psychotic, murderous foxes. I am barely hanging on to myself enough to keep the one inside of me at bay."

Oliver sighed. "I'm sorry, Stacie. I know I was under their control."

"I don't care, Oliver," Stacie told him. "Just stay the hell away from me."

Stacie pulled her wrist out of his hand, standing, walking away.

Oliver stood, following her. "Stacie, I have to tell you something."

"No, you really don't," Stacie told him.

"Please," Oliver told her. "I need to tell you. He said something about you."

Stacie stopped walking, hesitating, reluctantly turning to face him. "Why?" Oliver didn't answer. "Tell me exactly what he said and I'll handle it myself. I don't want you anywhere near me."

Oliver grabbed her arm. "You need my help." Stacie slowly started to shake her head, trying to pull her arm away. Oliver tightened his grip on her arm to stop her. "Please. Anything to make up for what I did."

"If you don't let go, I won't just tell you to go to hell," Stacie told him. "I'll send you there myself."

"You're joking, right?" Oliver asked.

"Do you really wanna test that theory?" Stacie asked.

"No," Oliver answered.

"Then let go," Stacie told him.

Oliver looked Stacie over with curiosity, still not letting go. "You okay, Stacie? You look a little pale and tired and sick."

Stacie closed her eyes, shaking her head. "I don't want anything to do with you. Let go and stay the hell away from me." She opened her eyes. Oliver didn't move. Stacie tilted her head thoughtfully. "I know a way to get you to leave me alone."

Stacie looked toward where the orderlies were, punching Oliver in the face, making him let her go and fall to the ground, backing away.

Brunski ran toward her. "Stacie!"

Stacie glared down at Oliver.

Oliver chuckled, knowing that Stacie would have known that the orderlies would take Stacie away. "Wow. Clever."

Brunski and an orderly pulled Stacie away, but she didn't struggle with them.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Quiet Room

Brunski and the orderly led Stacie inside.

"Any idea of how someone knocked me out in the basement?" Brunski asked.

"Nope," Stacie told him. "I don't like basements. Though you'd think a big, bad orderly like yourself would be tougher than that."

Brunski smirked as he pulled out a syringe. "You want to sleep, don't you? You've been such a little troublemaker ever since coming here."

Stacie started to struggle, worried about what would happen if she fell asleep, but the orderlies restrained her. "No, no, no, no. Did I mention I don't like shots?"

Brunski walked closer. "But you look so tired... And the only way to defeat a phobia is to face it."

Stacie shook her head, fearful. "Please don't. You can't. You don't wanna do that." Brunski injected the sedative into her shoulder. "No! You don't wanna do that. No, no, no."

The orderlies walked out of the room, closing and locking it behind them.

Stacie leaned against the wall, looking extremely tired and trying not to fall asleep.

She heard the lock breaking, looking up.

Void!Stiles could be seen outside of the barred window in the door, smirking, breaking the lock off.

Oliver opened the door, walking inside. "Not as clever when he can break the lock, Stacie." Stacie had trouble remaining standing, backing away from them. "Where're you going?"

Stacie fell to her knees, glaring at Void!Stiles. "What do you want?"

Void!Stiles smirked in amusement, walking closer. "What do I want?" He knelt in front of Stacie. "I want my friend to come out to play."

"Not gonna happen," Stacie told him.

"Not with you clinging to your own psyche at this strength, no," Void!Stiles agreed, smirking. "But you'll be too weak to stop the devil inside soon enough."

Void!Stiles stood, looking at Oliver, nodding.

Oliver walked toward Stacie, lifting her from the floor.

Stacie was too close to unconsciousness to fight back.

Void!Stiles turned toward the door, smirking, walking out, leaving.

Oliver followed him out of the room with Stacie in his arms.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Basement

Stacie woke up with a scary sense of deja vu, restrained to the chair. She pulled tiredly at the restraints.

Void!Stiles walked closer. "Don't bother." Stacie jumped at the sound of his voice, looking up. "Like I said, Stacie, I want the other Nogitsune. But I can't be here all day to make sure you let her out. Did you know they used to do electric shock down here?" Void!Stiles looked toward where Oliver had two wires in his hands as he made them both spark. He knelt next to Stacie in her chair, looking at her tauntingly. "Oliver here will make sure you're weak enough to let my friend out to come and play. All any Kitsune wants to do is play a joke. It just turns lethal when that Kitsune is a Nogitsune. For you, it must suck to be the anchor. Having to take all that pain, all that fear, their weaknesses, even their deaths, their... everything. For a Nogitsune, for the one inside of you, it's a source of power and pleasure. That's why she took you. To feed on the never-ending pain that you feel."

Stacie glared at him, struggling. "Let me out of here!"

Void!Stiles smirked, standing, backing away. "You can yell all you want. No one can hear you from down here. And no one can come save you, either. Eichen banned your father off the grounds until they say you can go home, isn't that right? But how can they say you can go home if they can't find you?" He smirked. "Stilinski's not going to be here for a long time. Not until you leave, at least." Stacie didn't answer, sitting back. Void!Stiles turned to look at Oliver, but asked his question of Stacie. "Did you know Oliver here has had a little crush on you since the first day he saw you? What you've said and done to him these past few days really hurt him."

"What I've said and done to him?" Stacie repeated incredulously.

Void!Stiles looked at Oliver, smirking. "Never mind the hatred or sarcasm in her voice. You'll torture her." He let his gaze slip to Stacie. "You'll learn to love the pain she feels. If she screams, it means you're doing something right, so do it again."

"What?" Stacie asked in a whisper. Oliver stepped closer with the two sparking wires. Stacie shook her head. "No. Oliver. Please! Stop!"

Void!Stiles smirked, walking out, leaving.

Oliver walked toward Stacie, putting the two electrical wires to Stacie's skin, making her scream in pain.

Beacon Hills High School - History Class

Yukimura was in his class on Saturday, going through his things. He could hear a fly buzzing, looking up, looking around.

The fly landed on his desk.

Yukimura dropped a book onto the fly to kill it.

Void!Stiles walked in. "Coming in on a Saturday. That's dedication. Where's she hiding them?"

"I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about," Yukimura told him.

Void!Stiles started to go through the books on the shelves. "Her little knives." He pushed a book to the floor. "Daggers." He pushed a book to the floor. "I know what they are. Physical representation of her tails." He pushed a book to the floor, turning to face Yukimura. "However the hell that works."

"Maybe you'd like to do some reading on it," Yukimura told him. "I can direct you to the section of Angel's mother, Amelia Fain's mythical writing in the library."

Void!Stiles nodded in understanding, rolling his eyes. "Right. Angel Fain's mother. Angel's mother knew too much. But I'd rather talk to you." He walked closer to Yukimura, drumming his fingers on the desks he passed. "The older the tail, the stronger the Oni. Am I right? I know there's one left. I know it's the strongest."

"Unfortunately, I don't know what you're referring to," Yukimura told him.

"You'll talk," Void!Stiles told him, lifting the book from the desk, releasing the fly. The fly flew into Yukimura's mouth, making him choke and gasp for breath, making him lower to his knees and hold his throat. Void!Stiles let the book fall, smirking. "They always talk."

Yukimura House - Kira's Room

Kira and Angel were sitting on the bed, looking at the picture that Stiles had told Malia to give to his friends.

There were two people in the picture from 1943. A man in a military uniform and a girl that looked exactly like Kira.

"This looks just like me, Angel," Kira told her. "This has to be my grandmother."

"Natalie, Tara, Adriana, Scott and Ari said that Malia's the last one who saw Stiles and Stacie at Eichen House," Angel told her. "This picture and this." She held up a sword that Malia had left Eichen House with. "They found it with two bodies buried in a wall. The same backwards five that the Oni put on us was on that wall. It sounds like it all goes back to your family. Your grandmother, your mom." Kira's phone vibrated. She picked it up to look at the text, looking at Angel worriedly. "What is it?"

"My dad," Kira answered.

Angel looked at her in confusion.

Beacon Hills High School - Hallway

Angel and Kira pushed open the doors to the school open. They ran down the hallway of the school toward the history class. (slow motion)

History Classroom

Angel and Kira ran inside.

Yukimura was on the floor, gagging, coughing.

Noshiko knelt next to him. She looked at her daughter. "Kira, did you bring it?"

Kira knelt next to her parents, handing a tube to her mother. "You going to tell me what it is?"

"Reishi," Noshiko answered.

"You're not seriously giving Dad magic mushrooms?" Kira asked what sounded like a statement.

Yukimura put one reishi into Yukimura's mouth.

Yukimura swallowed, taking a napkin, coughing up blood and a fly into the tissue. He took a moment to calm down.

"Are you okay?" Noshiko asked.

Yukimura barely moved his head in a nod.

Noshiko stood, helping Yukimura sit against the desk.

"Stiles did this?" Angel asked.

Noshiko turned to face Angel and Kira. "He wanted the last kaiken." She held out the dagger that was a physical representation of her tail. "I've kept this near me ever since your friend disappeared."

"Mom, you need to tell us everything," Kira told her.

Noshiko sighed, nodding in agreement.

Angel handed the picture from 1943 to Noshiko.

Noshiko was surprise. "Where did you get this?"

"Is it Grandma?" Kira asked.

"No," Noshiko answered. "It's me."

Flashback - 1943

Night - Oak Creek Internment Camp - Outside

Two men were offloading supplies at the camp.

Man 1 was sitting down, tossing around an apple.

"Hayes, a little help here," Man 2 told him. "Hayes!"

Another man walked closer, looking at Man 2. "Merrick, what did you say the count was?"

"Five," Merrick answered. An unseen woman was deftly lifting off items from their station. "Five crates of apples."

"There's only four here," the man told him.

"Okay, four crates of apples," Merrick told him. "Hayes, come on.

Hayes put a baseball onto his seat.

Merrick and Hayes walked away, leaving.

Young Noshiko Yukimura, when she had looked exactly like her daughter Kira, picked up the baseball, smirking.

Now

Day - Beacon Hills High School - History Class

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

Kira looked at her mother. "If that's you, then you'd have to be, like, 90 years old."

"Closer to 900," Noshiko told them.

Angel was shocked at this response, but decided to roll with it. "Okay, sure. Why not?" She looked at Yukimura. "How old are you?"

"43, Angel," Yukimura answered. "But I've been told I look mid-30s."

Angel and Kira were slightly overwhelmed, but not nearly as much as they would have been when they first moved to Beacon Hills now that they knew a lot more than they had before.

Kira looked down to the sword and sheath in her hands. She held it toward Noshiko.

Noshiko took the sword, turning toward the desk, holding it above the desk.

Angel and Kira watched her in confusion.

Noshiko took out the broken blade, pouring the broken pieces of the katana onto the desk. "The blade was shattered the last time it was used."

"When was that?" Angel asked.

"1943," Noshiko answered. "Against two Nogitsune."

"All this, it's happened before, hasn't it?" Kira asked.

"Yes," Noshiko answered.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," Yukimura told them.

"Where did it come from?" Kira asked.

"It was an internment camp in World War II," Noshiko told them. "In Oak Creek not too far from here."

Angel looked at Yukimura. "Hold on. You told Allison, Natalie and Adriana that there was no internment camp at Oak Creek."

"Allison's family and Adriana herself have a certain history of violence, Angel," Yukimura told her. "I didn't know if they or Natalie could be trusted. There was a camp, yes. But all the records were erased."

"They covered it up," Noshiko explained.

Yukimura opened a drawer. "When I was a grad student..." He pulled out a book, closing the drawer. "My passion project, actually more like an obsession, was trying to dig up the truth on Oak Creek." The book had multiple old photos. Yukimura shifted through them, looking up at his wife. "That's how I met your mother, Kira."

Angel picked up two pictures, seeing that one was of a woman that had been beaten to the point where her skin was ragged and loose, and the other was of a man burned beyond recognition. "So, where did the Nogitsunes come from?"

"Isn't it obvious yet?" Noshiko asked, looking away. "They came from me."

Flashback

Night - Oak Creek - Outside

A little boy ran through the internment camp, toward a shelter.

  ¤•¤°¤•¤

Shelter

Young Noshiko was handing out the items that she had stolen from Merrick, Hayes and the other man.

A girl, Young Noshiko's best friend, looked extremely worried. "Guys, keep your voices down. There's plenty for everyone, but if the MPS hear, no one gets anything."

The young boy walked in.

Young Noshiko smiled. "Michio."

Young Noshiko tossed the baseball she had stolen to Michio.

Michio caught it, smiling, running along.

"A baseball, Noshiko?" the girl asked. "Did you manage to steal any firecrackers? A machine gun, maybe?"

An elderly woman was sitting at her table, playing the game of Go, looking toward Young Noshiko.

Young Noshiko sighed, rolling her eyes. "I can feel your glare on the back of my head, Satomi."

Young Noshiko walked toward Satomi, sitting down across from her.

"You take too frequently," Satomi told her. "And you take too much."

"Should I give some back?" Young Noshiko asked, putting a bottle of aspirin on the table, sliding it toward Satomi. "I know you get migraines at least once a month."

"I prefer to suffer," Satomi told her, sliding the bottle toward her. "I know what you think of me, Noshiko. You think I am weak because I follow the rules. You think rules are for the obedience of fools and cowards. The young fox always knows the rules so she can break them. The older, wiser animal learns the exceptions to the rules."

Satomi placed a white piece on the table in favor of taking up a black one.

The girl knelt next to them. "Listen, you two, all we have to do is stay quiet."

Michio accidentally threw the baseball out of the window, making it shatter.

The boy's father pulled him away. "Michio, get back."

The girl walked up to the window, looking outside worriedly. "The MPS are coming."

Everyone started to hide the items that Young Noshiko had stolen.

Merrick, Hayes and the other man walked inside.

The man held up the baseball. "Somebody lose something?"

"There was supplies stolen off the truck last night," Merrick told them. "Anybody here got any ideas what happened?"

Hayes started to search the beds.

Merrick started to touch the girl, suggestively searching the pockets of her dress.

The man shook his head. "Merrick..."

"Just doing my patriotic duty, Corporal Rhys," Merrick told him.

"I want that window fixed," Rhys told them. "There'll be an inspection in the morning. We better not find anything that shouldn't be here."

"We're not gonna look now?" Hayes asked.

"Inspection in the morning," Rhys told them. "This is a relocation center. Not a prison."

Merrick chuckled. "You can call it a summer camp if it makes you feel better, sir."

Hayes and Merrick walked out, leaving.

Young Noshiko and Rhys looked at each other.

Rhys turned to leave, pausing, looking at the baseball in his hand, tossing it to Michio.

Michio caught it, surprised that Rhys had given it back to him.

Rhys smiled a small smile, walking out, leaving, closing the door behind him.

Satomi looked at Young Noshiko, speaking in Japanese, and then English. "Or as the Americans say, you reap what you sow."

Satomi put the black piece on the table.

Day - Beacon Hills High School - History Classroom

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

Noshiko was trying to order the sword into one piece. "Kira, I need your help on this. There isn't much time. And this is something that needs to be done in the daylight."

"Not until you tell us everything," Kira replied.

"Tell them, Noshiko," Yukimura told her. "Tell them what they need to know."

Noshiko looked at Angel. "Angel, you don't know what you are. Do you, Angel? No one does. One who doesn't trust herself because she doesn't know what she can do or what she's capable of. If you don't trust yourself, how can anyone else, Angel?"

"As of right now, Angel's been more honest with me than the two of you have, so I trust her more than you at the moment," Kira told her.

"There might come a time where you regret trusting Angel, a creature that Angel doesn't even trust herself," Noshiko told her.

"If you have any other ideas, I'm open to suggestion," Angel told her.

Yukimura gave Noshiko a look. "Allies, however unlikely, should be welcomed. Especially in times of war."

Noshiko slammed a piece of the sword on the table as if saying fine.

Sheriff's Station

Chris and Derek were getting discharged.

Jordan was holding Chris' stun gun. "Sorry, but I can't let you walk out with this. It's way above the legal voltage limit."

"I only use it for hunting," Chris told him.

Derek gave him a knowing look.

Jordan looked at Chris. "Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure you could use it to jump-start a 747."

"This property belong to me, and the charges were dropped," Chris told him. "Although, I'm not exactly sure who's responsible for that."

Sheriff walked closer. "I am. I'll take care of this, Parrish."

"Sheriff, I'm not kidding," Jordan told him. "This thing's a few watts from being a lightsaber."

Sheriff took the stun gun from him. "I said I'll take care of it."

  ¤•¤°¤•¤

Sheriff's Office

Derek, Chris and Sheriff were standing at his desk.

"The specialist I saw in LA told me the same thing that every doctor says when he's trying to avoid a lawsuit," Sheriff told them. "'We can't say for sure'."

Macey walked in. "And then he came to talk to me." Chris looked at her in surprise. Macey was holding a file, putting it on the desk, taking out three scans. "These are brain scans. Stiles, Stacie, and their mother's. I knew they were similar." She put the scans on top of each other, showing that the plans of deterioration was exactly alike. "But those are the same. Exactly the same."

"And I'm guessing this isn't possible," Derek told her.

"Not even remotely," Macey answered.

"So the tricksters are still playing tricks," Chris told them.

"But why this trick?" Derek asked.

Sheriff sighed. "When I was in the army, an officer told me, 'if you want to defeat your enemy, you don't take away their courage. You take away their hope'."

"You don't look like a man who gives up hope easily," Derek told him.

"But Stiles and Stacie might," Sheriff told them. "If these things inside them, if they're using their mother's disease as some sort of psychological trick, then this isn't just a fight for their bodies. It's also a fight for their minds. Right?"

"You know, they've left people severely injured," Chris told them. "And others severely dead."

"That's why Stacie sent Malia Tate to Natalie, Tara, Adriana, Scott and Ari," Macey told them. "She told Malia to tell them that she's losing the fight. She's still stuck in Eichen, and she doesn't want to leave until she's sure that this thing is out of her. Now, the kids, they've been trying to find a way to save her and Stiles. But we need to get them inside Eichen, and we need to find Stiles. We need the two of you."

Sheriff held the stun gun toward Chris.

Chris took it.

Flashback

Day - Oak Creek - Corridor

Young Noshiko ran down the corridor toward the sunlight at the end of the tunnel.

Rhys was standing there.

Young Noshiko pulled Rhys into the corridor, pushing him into the wall. They looked at each other for a moment, kissing deeply, pulling away.

"Why do I like you when you're acting tough?" Young Noshiko asked.

"Maybe because you want me to be a fighter," Rhys answered.

"No, I like my handsome medic," Young Noshiko told him.

"Don't like him too much," Rhys told her. "Your handsome medic is getting worried." Young Noshiko tilted her head. "I think you need to ease up on all the stuff you're taking off the truck, Noshiko. Especially medical supplies. People are starting to notice."

"So what if they notice?" Young Noshiko asked. Rhys spoke in rusty Japanese. "You're quoting Japanese proverbs to me?"

"The stake that sticks out gets hammered down," Rhys told her. "It's a good proverb. You know they're gonna come in and just confiscate everything, right? They'll punish everyone and get them to turn you in. That's how they do it in the army."

"Okay, I get it," Young Noshiko told him. "And if missing a few bottles of aspirin is that bad, I'll bring them back."

"Let me help," Rhys told her. "I can get stuff, too. I can be pretty sly myself."

Rhys pulled out a bar of chocolate.

Young Noshiko smiled. "Oh, my God. Is that chocolate?"

Rhys pulled the chocolate out of her reach. "I thought you liked it when I'm tough."

"I like chocolate more," Young Noshiko told him, taking the bar of chocolate.

They smiled, looking at each other, kissing passionately.

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

Kira was grossed out about hearing her mother's former love. "Okay, stop. Just stop. We don't want to hear your Casablanca story. We wanna know how to save Stiles and Stacie."

"I'm trying to tell you," Noshiko told them.

"You're trying to stall," Angel told her. "When the sun goes down, the Oni are gonna come after them, aren't they?"

"Your friends are gone, Angel," Yukimura told her.

"I don't think you know any of that for sure," Angel told them. She looked at Noshiko. "You brought the Oni. Can you call them off?"

"It's not their fault," Kira told them.

"Stiles and Stacie may be your friends, but they are Nogitsune now," Noshiko told them. "They are void."

"Can you call them off?" Angel repeated, stressing the words.

"When you hear the rest of the story, Angel, you won't want me to," Noshiko told her.

Kira and Angel gave her a look.

Allison, Chris, Sheriff, Ari, Adriana, Natalie, Scott, Tara and Derek walked in.

"This is everything non-lethal I could find," Allison told them.

They stood over the equipment. Ropes, handcuffs, chains, flashlights...

"Take all of it," Tara told them.

"What's the plan here?" Sheriff asked.

"Our best shot right now is for us to split up to look for Stiles and save Stacie from Eichen House," Adriana told them. "Derek, Ari, Scott, Tara and I'll go to Eichen. Allison, Chris, Sheriff, Natalie, you go look for Stiles."

"All right, Adriana," Ari told her.

"We can talk to Morrell," Derek told them. "Explain, and she'll figure out a way to get her out."

Sheriff nodded.

"Where else has Stiles been showing up?" Chris asked.

"School, the hospital," Natalie answered.

"Okay, hold on," Scott told them. "We did this already. He disappeared with Stacie. We started looking for them. Then walked right into a trap at the hospital."

"He's getting us to repeat the same moves," Ari agreed.

"So what do we do?" Natalie asked. "Wait for him to come to us?"

"We can't," Tara told them. "Not if the Oni find either of them when the sun goes down."

"Angel and Kira are working on that right now, with Kira's parents, Tara," Scott explained.

"And if it doesn't work, we can convince Morrell to let Stacie out before the Oni find her," Ari told them.

"That's the problem," Chris told them. Everyone looked at him. "We're all trying to outfox the fox."

A moment of silence passed.

"Listen," Sheriff told them. "I'll understand if anyone wants to back out."

Scott wasn't backing out. "This is Stiles and Stacie we're talking about here."

Ari shook her head. "They've had their fair share of coming up with insane plans to save one of us."

Adriana nodded in agreement. "Ari's right. As always, Ari's right. Now it's our turn."

"I won't be the first wolf to run from a fox," Derek agreed, grabbing a stun gun.

"Apparently, I'm carrying a lightsaber," Chris told them, holding up an electrical flare.

"We find them, we meet up at the school," Tara told them.

Everyone but Tara, Chris and Natalie walked out, leaving.

Chris opened a book, taking out his gun.

Natalie gave him a look. "Making sure you have a few lethal options just in case?"

"Tara knows as well as I that I like to prepare for the worst, Natalie," Chris told her, clicking the gun.

They heard Scott in the doorway. "Natalie. Tara. Argent. We're not killing them." Chris and Natalie looked at him. "Tara, I know you and Natalie would never willingly hurt them. Tara... Natalie... If there's a way to save them, we take it."

Scott walked out, leaving.

Natalie and Tara turned around, walking out, leaving.

Chris sighed, following.

Beacon Hills High School - History Classroom

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

Angel and Kira were already getting bored with the Rhys/Noshiko love story.

"Rhys and I found a way to see each other," Noshiko told them. "Sometimes at the barracks. Sometimes in the bunkers where they parked military vehicles."

Flashback

Day - Bunkers

Rhys and Young Noshiko were sitting in a military vehicle, reading from a French book.

Noshiko: (voice over) "He was being transferred to North Africa in a few weeks. I was teaching him some French."

Rhys attempted to speak in French.

"Foudre," Young Noshiko corrected. "It's an 'ah' sound."

Rhys smirked. "Coup de foudre."

"Not bad," Young Noshiko told him. "It's an idiom. But the literal translation is 'bolt of lightning'."

Rhys closed the French book. "Embrasse-moi. [Kiss me.]"

Young Noshiko smiled. "I don't remember teaching you that."

"That one's self-taught," Rhys told her. "I figured it might come in handy. So, embrasse-moi. Kiss me."

They started to kiss until they heard a noise from further on, going into hiding, seeing Merrick and Hayes talking to a man.

Noshiko: (voice over) "We watched Merrick and Hayes talking with the camp doctor. They were whispering, talking quickly."

The doctor pulled out his money, counting it.

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

Noshiko was so lost in the past she didn't realize she was gripping a sword piece so tightly she drew blood. Blood was dripping to the desk.

"Noshiko," Yukimura told her.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Kira asked. Noshiko dropped the sword piece. Yukimura handed her a cloth. Noshiko used the cloth to wipe the blood away, turning her hand to show Angel and Kira that the cut had healed. "How did you do that?"

"It's one of our talents," Noshiko answered. "Something you'll learn, Kira. You should've noticed by now that you never get sick. Ever. You'll never experience something as simple as a common cold. Something as bad as the flu. Or something like..."

Flashback

Day - Oak Creek - Medical Quarters

Michio was lying on the bed, sick.

His father was standing nearby.

The doctor was checking Michio. "Pneumonia. Same as the others."

The doctor walked away.

The boy's father checked on Michio worriedly, using a cloth to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

Young Noshiko's friend, the girl, was also sick, coughing.

Young Noshiko looked at her worriedly. "Rinko..."

"I'm okay," Rinko told her. "It's not that bad."

Rinko walked away, coughing.

Young Noshiko saw the doctor talking to Rhys down the way.

The doctor walked away.

Rhys walked toward Young Noshiko. "Everyone's coming down with pneumonia, and we are all out of M&B."

"M&B?" Young Noshiko repeated in confusion.

"May and Baker Pharmaceuticals," Rhys answered. "It's sulfadiazine."

"I saw those boxes," Young Noshiko told him.

"What do you mean, boxes?" Rhys asked. "We only got one."

"There were three," Young Noshiko told him. "I know I took a bunch of stuff off that truck, but I didn't take any M&B."

Rhys looked at his clipboard.

Day - Oak Creek - Medical Quarters

Michio was in his bed, sick.

His father was next to him, noticing that he wasn't moving and he wasn't breathing. "Michio? Michio?" He tried to shake the boy awake. "Michio!"

The boy's father held Michio in his arms, crying, starting to shout in Japanese.

Rinko, Young Noshiko and Rhys walked closer, looking at them in shock and despair. They looked from each other to his father and the boy.

The baseball fell from Michio's hand to the floor, rolling away.

Now

Day - Eichen House - Basement

Stacie was still restrained to the chair.

Oliver was still torturing her with sparking live wires to try and make her weak enough for the Nogitsune inside of her to take over, making her scream in pain and shake.

Void!Stiles had told Oliver that if Stacie screamed to do it again.

Oliver shocked her again.

Stacie clenched her teeth, pressing her lips together over the scream that wanted to come out, closing her eyes in absolute pain. She had tears drying on her face, but she refused to cry anymore.

"I'm sorry, Stacie," Oliver told her. "About everything I did, and everything I just..."

"Go to hell," Stacie whispered.

"Stacie--" Oliver started.

Stacie closed her eyes in pain. "Just shut up. Please shut up. Don't talk."

Oliver exhaled, walking closer. "I have to do what he said."

Stacie started to squirm again, struggling. "Stop. Don't. Please."

"I have to," Oliver told her.

"Just stay away from me!" Stacie told him.

Oliver pushed one wire into her wrist, pushing the other to her neck, shocking her, making her scream in pain. "No one can hear you!"

Derek appeared behind Oliver, looking at him angrily. "I can hear her."

Stacie looked at him in shock and relief.

Derek grabbed the back of Oliver's neck, throwing him into the wall, slamming his head against the wall, making him fall unconscious.

Stacie was relieved but weak. "Derek...."

Derek walked closer. "Hey, it's okay."

Derek reached for the restraints to break her free.

Stacie shook her head. "Don't." Derek looked at her in confusion. "She's coming."

Stacie started to fall unconscious.

Derek tried to keep her awake. "No. No, hey, Stacie. Stay with me. Stacie!"

Void!Stacie slowly started to wake up, looking around. "Oh, finally." Scott, Tara, Ari and Adriana ran down the stairs toward them. Void!Stacie smirked. "Oh, hi, Adriana. Ari, is there a party going on that I didn't know about? Tara, are you giving me a welcome back party?"

"Something like that," Tara answered.

"Really?" Void!Stacie asked. "Well, don't keep me in suspense, Tara. Tell me what you have in mind. Although, where is Natalie and Angel? It's not a complete party without Natalie and Angel."

"Natalie and Angel aren't here," Ari answered. "Natalie and Angel aren't coming."

Stacie smirked. "Well, that's too bad, Ari. Tara, you don't really think that you have a chance at saving Stacie now, do you? She's gone. Torturing her for days on end finally came through. She's strong, Adriana, I'll give her that. But no one is that strong." She started to break free from her restraints. "Well, maybe I am."

Ari and Adriana walked closer instantly, pushing Void!Stacie back against the chair, keeping her as pinned as they could.

Void!Stacie broke free from their restraint, grabbing Ari by the hand, breaking it, causing her enough pain to take power from her, making her groan in pain, turning to punch Adriana in the face. Adriana grabbed Void!Stacie, flipping her to the floor. Void!Stacie turned to Derek, throwing him into the wall, making him fall. Tara spun to kick Void!Stacie in the back, making her stumble only slightly. Ari and Adriana restrained Void!Stacie from behind. Tara restrained her from the front.

Scott took out a syringe, injecting it into Void!Stacie's shoulder.

Void!Stacie slowly stopped struggling, confused, unable to move.

Ari, Adriana and Tara laid her down on the chair.

Derek stood in confusion. "What was that?"

"Kanima venom, from Deaton," Scott answered. "That should keep her still for a while."

"Nice touch," Tara told him.

"Thanks, Tara," Scott told her.

"The scroll said to change their bodies," Ari told them.

"That's if you translated it correctly," Void!Stacie told them tauntingly. "You're looking for a cure in something that might actually not be more than a proverb or a metaphor. And what if Stacie here doesn't want it? She's never asked to be a Werewolf."

"Even if it could save her life?" Scott asked.

"And then there's the chance that it could kill her," Void!Stacie told them. She looked at Ari and Adriana. "The two of you. Ari and Adriana. Half-Alpha, half-Beta halfbreeds, stronger than any other wolf. Ari, Adriana, you can still turn humans into wolves with a bite. Isn't that right, Ari and Adriana?" She looked at Scott. "And you, the True Alpha, obviously can. But none of you have delivered a bite before, have you? What if you bite me and accidentally hit an artery or something? You think that you can live with killing poor, delicate Stiles and Stacie?"

"She's right," Adriana told them. "We're gonna have to get inside her head."

Void!Stacie smirked, chuckling evilly. "Adriana's right. Isn't it normally that Ari's the right one, not Adriana?"

"Yeah, Adriana's not used to being the right one," Ari told them.

"No, but you are, aren't you, Ari?" Adriana asked.

Ari rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Adriana."

Void!Stacie laughed.

Flashback

Day - Medical Quarters

Everyone was gathered, devastated at the loss of their people.

"Listen," Rinko told them. "Listen! All we have to do is go to the administration and issue a formal complaint."

"You want to talk to them?" Michio's father asked. "Let's talk to them. Let's tell them how one of their doctors has been stealing medication and selling it on the black market."

"They'll listen," Rinko told them. "They have to."

"I'm sure they will," Michio's father told them. "They'll nod their heads with their condescending smiles. They'll say, 'A new shipment is on its way. Any day now'. While today..." He started to cry. "Today, my son is dead."

Rinko looked at him sadly in sympathy. "I know how you feel."

Rinko was overcome by a coughing fit.

"No, Rinko," Michio's father told her. "I know how you feel. You feel sick. I'm going to bury you next to Michio."

Satomi was sitting down, playing her game. "You want to know what I think? You won't even get a condescending smile. They won't listen to us. Why should they?"

Satomi placed a black game piece on the board.

Michio's father was making a makeshift Molotov cocktail with a bottle of gasoline and a cloth. "I have a way to make them listen."

Flashback

Night - Oak Creek - Parking Lot

The people surrounded Liston, Merrick and Hayes in their car, rioting around them.

The men around them aimed their guns.

Rhys ran closer. "Stop! Stop! Put your guns away. Put them away!"

Rinko and Young Noshiko ran up to the scene of the riot, looking horrified by the chaos around them.

"We want the doctor!" Michio's father told them.

The mob continued to shout in anger.

Car

Merrick was in the driver's seat.

Hayes was in the passenger seat.

Liston was in the backseat. "Those people, if they manage to drag me out of this car, do you know what's gong to happen? They are going to put a noose around my neck! And maybe they'll be polite enough to ask me if I have any last words. You know what those last words are gonna be? 'I had help'."

"So maybe we throw you out there now and provide a little distraction, huh?" Merrick asked.

"They've got a few pipes, some rocks and sticks," Liston told them. "You've got guns. Now, get out there and shoot something. Do it!"

Flashback

Night - Oak Creek - Parking Lot

The mob was still raging on.

Noshiko: (voice over) "I'd never seen anger like that. It was a living, breathing thing."

Rhys tried to get the mob to stop.

Merrick and Hayes got out of the car with guns.

Michio's father it his Molotov cocktail.

Rhys looked at him desperately, shaking his head.

Michio looked down, about to put the bottle down.

Hayes yelled to the crowd. "Get back! Back! Get back! Get back!"

Satomi walked up to Merrick, glaring at him.

The mob fell quiet.

Merrick used his gun to hit Satomi in the face, making her fall.

Hayes was beating Rinko with his gun, making her bleed and fall.

The mob continued to scream, tackling Hayes and Merrick back.

Satomi had a cut on her forehead from where Merrick had hit her. The cut healed. Her eyes were glowing gold.

Young Noshiko looked at Satomi in shock.

Noshiko: (voice over) "Now I knew why Satomi was always trying to keep quiet. Why she got migraines once a month."

Satomi lost control, running toward the crowd.

Noshiko: (voice over) "And why she was always at the game of Go. It kept her calm."

Michio's father turned away from the riot, crying in despair.

Satomi had lost all control, taking the Molotov cocktail from his hand, throwing it onto Rhys, setting him ablaze.

Rinko ran up to Satomi, still bleeding and beaten from Hayes beating her, trying to calm her down. "Satomi, stop!"

Satomi tackled Rinko to the ground, slashing into her repeatedly, making her scream in agony.

Day - Beacon Hills Hospital - Elevator

Allison and Natalie were taking the elevator up.

Natalie was very nervous in the elevator, which didn't escape Allison's notice.

"You know that we could have taken the stairs, Natalie," Allison told her.

Natalie shook her head. "No. It's okay. I--I... need to learn how to face small spaces so that I won't lose control again."

"Natalie, you spent your childhood trapped in a freezer and spent four months in a bank vault," Allison told her. "I don't think that's something that you can change about yourself."

"So you're saying it's hopeless," Natalie told her. "Great. It's not like I didn't already know that."

"No, it's not hopeless, Natalie," Allison told her. "I don't know how you do it. Natalie, you lost more than any of us, but you're still so strong. You're fearless." Natalie had tears in her eyes, breathing deeply. "Hey. Natalie? You okay?"

"I'm not... fearless," Natalie told her. "I'm terrified." She started to cry. "I'm always terrified that I'm gonna lose someone else I love. I... I don't know if Isaac is dying right now. I don't know how I'm not a complete mess after what happened with Boyd. I don't know if I'm ever going to get trapped again and try to kill someone I care about again. I don't know... I don't know anything."

Allison looked at her in worry, embracing her comfortingly. "Hey. Natalie, it's okay. You know what's funny? You sound like me. I act like I know what I'm doing, but I don't." Natalie managed a small smile, chuckling, sniffling. They pulled away. Allison placed her hands on her shoulders. "Natalie, listen to me. I'm sorry about Boyd, Natalie. But you're not going to lose Isaac."

"How do you know that?" Natalie asked.

Allison sighed. "I just do."

"You wouldn't happen to be pretending to know what you don't, would you?" Natalie asked, wiping her tears away. "You know, I never really forgave you, for the night that you tried to kill me. Now I do."

They chuckled softly.

"Do you forgive yourself for what happened to Boyd?" Allison asked.

Natalie sighed heavily, nodding, gazing off. "I'm trying to."

Allison smiled a small smile, reassuringly. "You're gonna be okay, Natalie."

Natalie nodded. "Okay."

The elevator stopped. The doors opened.

Allison looked at Natalie. "Natalie, let's go."

Natalie nodded, composing herself.

Hallway

Allison and Natalie walked off the elevator together.

Chris and Sheriff walked closer.

"Stiles is not here, but we think that we know where he is," Chris told them.

"Really?" Allison asked. "How?"

Sheriff showed them his phone. "Because of this. Someone was breaking into my house. After Stiles and Stacie started sleepwalking, I had some security precautions put in. Motion sensors. Cameras."

"Is that his room?" Natalie asked.

They saw Void!Stiles sitting on his bed, waving into the camera.

Eichen House - Basement

Void!Stacie was paralyzed to the chair she was in.

Scott and Tara were watching her warily.

Derek was sitting in the chair next to her.

Adriana and Ari were standing behind Void!Stacie and Derek.

"Ari, do you guys have a plan, or are you just making it up as you go along?" Void!Stacie asked tauntingly in amusement. "I mean, seriously, Tara." She looked at Derek. "If you wanted to see me paralyzed, all you had to do was ask. I know you want Stacie. Go ahead. Take what you want."

Derek rolled his eyes in annoyance. "You're not Stacie. Stop talking."

Scott looked at Adriana worriedly. "You do have a plan, right, Adriana?"

"I'm going to try to dig through sickly and pale Evil Stacie's mind to unearth pale and sickly Real Stacie," Adriana answered. "Then guide her back from the depths of her own subconscious. But I'm not going to do it alone. I need help from someone I know can get through to Stacie."

Scott, Tara, Adriana and Ari looked at Derek.

Derek nodded. "I'll go in with you. What do we do if we find her?"

"We're gonna have to guide her out somehow," Adriana answered, lining her claws along the back of Void!Stacie's neck. "Try to give her back control of her mind, her body."

Adriana lined her claws along the back of Derek's neck.

"Adriana, could you elaborate on the 'somehow'?" Derek asked. "It's not feeling very specific at the moment."

Adriana shrugged. "Improvise."

"Whatever you have to do, Adri, do it," Ari told her. "We're running out of time, Adriana."

"Ari's not wrong," Void!Stacie told them smugly. "Ari's never wrong, is she, Tara? Like Adriana always says, Ari's always right. Isn't that right, Tara?"

Adriana, Ari and Tara spoke together. "Shut up."

"Adri, now," Ari told her. "Adriana, do it now."

"I got it, Ari," Adriana told her. "Tara, wish me luck."

"Good luck, Adriana," Tara told her.

Adriana sighed, stabbing her claws into the back of Void!Stacie and Derek's necks, making all three of them gasp and leave consciousness. Adriana remained standing. Her eyes were glowing completely purple.

Stacie's Mind Space

Day - Preserve

Adriana woke up on the ground of the Preserve, looking around in confusion.

She heard the laughing voices of Young Ari, Young Adriana, Young Stacie, Young Natalie and Young Heather.

(Scene from 3.06 Motel California)

Young Stacie, Young Ari, Young Natalie, Young Adriana and Young Heather were running through the woods.

"Can't catch me, guys!" Young Adriana told them.

"Yeah-huh!" Young Stacie called back, running after her.

"Nuh-uh!" Young Adriana told them.

"Guys, wait!" Young Natalie laughed.

Adriana stood, watching them go in confusion. She followed them through the woods.

Young Ari smiled, running backwards.

"Ari, look out!" Young Natalie told her.

Young Ari's foot caught in a vine from a tree, making her fall down, rolling down the hill next to them, bouncing painfully toward the bottom, screaming.

Young Stacie stopped running, turning back to face her, looking down the hill. "Ari?"

Young Natalie, Young Heather and Young Stacie ran down the hill toward her.

Adriana knew what was about to happen, looking effected and unsettled.

Young Natalie, Young Heather and Young Stacie stopped next to Young Ari, helping her stand.

Young Ari was shaking and shivering, scratched and bleeding.

"You okay?" Young Heather asked.

Young Adriana turned back toward them, walking toward the top of the hill. "Guys!"

Adriana looked at Young Adriana.

Young Stacie, Young Ari, Young Heather and Young Natalie looked up the hill toward her.

A person in black, their face and hair unseen, grabbed Young Adriana.

Young Stacie, Young Ari, Young Heather and Young Natalie started to run up the hill in front of them.

"Adri!" Young Ari screamed.

"Ari!" Young Adriana screamed, desperate and scared.

The memory started to blur in and out of focus. The man in black was shifting like something was wrong. Like it wasn't real.

Night - Hale House - Outside

The Hale House looked the way it did before the fire, before it was a burned disaster.

Derek woke up on the ground outside the house, looking toward his home in confusion. "Tara?" He stood, walking closer slowly. "Tara?"

¤•¤°¤•¤

Inside - Foyer

Derek walked inside.

Fading images of his entire family, including Lucy, Cora, Talia, Peter and Tara were inside, flickering in and out of focus like ghosts. The flames of the fire were flickering in and out as well, like sparks that were trying to become real.

Derek: (voice over from 1.04 Magic Bullet) "Six years ago, our house had caught on fire. Twelve people were trapped inside. He and Tara were the only survivors."

Derek saw a memory of Peter grabbed Young Tara as a flame launched toward them.

Tara: (voice over from 1.04 Magic Bullet) "He had been the one to get me out."

The flickering fire started to become real and burn the Hale family.

Peter: (voice over from 1.09 Wolf's Bane) "After all, we're family."

Young Tara pulled Peter toward the door.

Cora: (voice over from 3.04 Unleashed) "Do you have any idea how it felt to find out you both were alive?"

The fire started to surround Derek completely. Derek looked around. (slow motion)

Derek: (voice over from 3.04 Unleashed) "I'm sorry to disappoint you."

¤•¤°¤•¤

Preserve

Adriana was in shock and confusion, looking like the memory fading in and out was actually giving her pain, holding her head, groaning.

Ari appeared in front of Adriana, holding her shoulders. "You think this hurts, Adri? How do you think your sister felt when she realized that you were an evil, crazy bitch that did what you wanted when you wanted while you were with the Alpha Pack, Adriana? Adriana, you left her alone to become this thing. And you think by saving everyone you can,Adri, you can redeem yourself. But you're just hiding the truth. And the truth, Adriana, is that you have more blood on your hands than a Nogitsune. Adri, if you think that a Nogitsune needs to be put down, then so do you. What you did to Tara, to Natalie, to Ari, to all of us, you deserve to suffer, Adriana."

Ari let the irises of her eyes glow purple and her claws and canines grow, lunging toward Adriana.

Ari and Adriana's voices echoed throughout the woods, saying the names of the friends and loved ones that Adriana had hurt or betrayed over and over again when she had been consumed by darkness, including Ari, Stacie, Tara, Natalie, Scott, Stiles, Allison, Lydia, Macey, Derek, Angel.

Adriana turned around, running away. (slow motion)

Other voices were saying the names over and over again, leading to believe that the Nogitsune in Stacie's head was trying to drive Adriana out of her mind because of her guilt and self-loathing for what she had turned into.

Hale House - Foyer

Derek was still surrounded by the fire. He turned around, running away. (slow motion)

Preserve

Derek and Adriana ran together toward the Nemeton, coming to a stop. As Adriana  was running, she could still hear a boy's voice saying in her head over and over her name, at least a hundred times, enough to drive her mad.

Stacie was kneeling at the Nemeton.

Derek looked around in confusion.

Derek and Adriana saw Stacie was there, exchanging a look, walking closer, slowly in confusion.

"Stacie?" Derek asked.

"What are you doing here?" Adriana asked.

Stacie looked over her shoulder toward them.

Stacie's Mind Space

Day - Preserve

Derek and Adriana were still watching Stacie.

"This is me," Stacie told them. She placed a hand on the cut down tree. "The Nemeton is a source of power. It gets its power from pain and death." Vines twirled up from the Nemeton, wrapping around Stacie's wrist, tying her to it. "The dreams I've been having about this thing are telling me I'm more like the Nemeton than I like to believe. This tied together the sacrifices. Scott, Ari, Allison and Stiles were sacrifices. I tie them together. She's gaining power from me by feeding on my pain, and the pain that I feel from theirs."

Derek walked closer to her. "We know that's why she chose you. But we're getting her out of you."

Stacie looked up at them. "How are you gonna do that?"

"I don't know," Derek told her. "But we're getting you out of here. Come on. We have to go."

Derek took Stacie by the hand, helping her up.

They turned to walk away from the Nemeton.

The Nogitsune in the form of Rinko's dead body, the corpse woman, appeared in front of them. "You're not going anywhere. She belongs to me."

Derek and Adriana stood in front of Stacie protectively.

"You want her?" Adriana asked. "Come and get her."

Derek let his eyes glow blue. Adriana let her eyes glow completely purple.

Rinko!Nogitsune roared at them angrily.

Derek and Adriana roared in response, their anger rivaling hers.

Wind started to blow all around the clearing that surrounded the Nemeton.

Stacie held her head, screaming her words. "Get out of my head!"

Stacie slammed her hands to her sides, shaking.

The wind blew back Rinko!Nogitsune, Derek and Adriana, throwing them to the ground.

Stacie remained standing, hanging her head, breathing heavily.

Reality

Day - Eichen House - Basement

Stacie, Derek and Adriana gasped awake, surprising Scott, Tara and Ari.

"Did it work?" Scott asked. "Why didn't it work?"

Stacie pulled free from their restraint, falling to her knees on the floor. She started to vomit up rotting flesh like on the face of Rinko!Nogitsune/the corpse woman. She gasped for air, sitting back on the chair.

Scott and Tara looked shocked and disgusted.

A hand slowly reached up out of the pile of dead flesh on the floor. What looked like Rinko!Nogitsune pulled herself out of the flesh up onto the floor, to her feet. She started to peel the dead flesh off. Scott and Adriana walked closer instantly, pushing her against the chair behind her, but she wasn't fighting, only trying to peel the dead skin off.

"Wait, wait, wait," Ari told them. She looked at Derek and Tara, pointing at the Stacie on the floor. "Watch her."

Scott, Ari and Adriana peeled the rest of the flesh off of the other's face, revealing it was the real Stacie, and the other Stacie on the floor was Void!Stacie.

Stacie looked at them in shock. "Guys?"

"Stace?" Scott asked.

"It's me," Stacie told them. "I swear to God, it's me."

Void!Stacie still couldn't move much because of the Kanima venom. "She's not wrong."

Tara pointed at Void!Stacie. "Shut up. Scott, you bring any backup venom?" Scott drew another syringe, tossing it to Tara. Tara caught it, injecting it into Void!Stacie's neck, making her gasp in pain, but then she started to laugh at the pain. "Like I said. Sick, sadistic, twisted bitch."

Stacie realized what was happening, overwhelmed with emotion and sadness and guilt and pain. "Oh, my God."

Scott and Ari embraced Stacie for a moment.

"Stacie, you're back," Ari told her. "You're okay."

Stacie was breathing heavily.

Adriana looked at her in relief, embracing her for a moment.

Scott, Ari and Adriana backed away to give her some room.

Stacie was crying, traumatized.

Derek walked closer. "Hey." He pulled her into his arms. "You're okay. You're okay."

Stacie shook her head, crying. "No, I'm not."

Flashback

Night - On the Road - Military Vehicle

Young Noshiko and the bodies were in the back of the moving vehicle.

Young Noshiko slowly became furious and desperate for revenge. She opened her eyes. They were glowing a deep, dark gold.

Now

Day - Beacon Hills High School - History Class

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

"I wanted the soldiers and the administration of the camp to be punished for their crime," Noshiko told them. "But I knew the clock was ticking. I was going to lose my chance. They were going to burn me with the others. I couldn't fight back with my body weakened and still healing. I could barely move. I was going to die."

Flashback

Night - On the Road - Military Vehicle

Young Noshiko and the bodies were on their way to being burned.

Young Noshiko closed her eyes, focusing, opening her eyes, sighing.

Noshiko: (voice over) "With time slipping through my fingers, I knew I was making a terrible decision. But I could not die knowing they were going to get away. So I called out to our ancestors for Kitsune-tsuki. Possession by a fox spirit. For a powerful Nogitsune."

Now

Day - Beacon Hills High School - History Classroom

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

"One that feeds off of chaos, strife and pain to take control of my weakened body, imbue it with power and use it as a weapon," Noshiko told them. "But calling on a trickster spirit is a dangerous thing. If you call on one Nogitsune, one that can't hurt you for calling them, another will come as your punishment. One that can hurt you. And they can have a very dark sense of humor. Because while the Nogitsunes did come to possess someone, it wasn't me."

Flashback

Night - Field

The bodies were being laid onto a pile in the middle of the field.

Rinko, Young Noshiko and Rhys' dead bodies were lying on the top of the pile.

Merrick and Hayes walked toward the truck to get gasoline.

Rinko!Nogitsune and Rhys!Nogitsune both stood.

"What the hell?" Merrick asked.

Rinko!Nogitsune roared.

The two Nogitsunes walked toward Merrick and Hayes.

Young Noshiko rolled over to watch them.

Hayes shot the Nogitsunes repeatedly in an attempt to kill them, but it didn't even slow them down.

"What happened?" Angel asked.

"My body was beginning to heal," Noshiko answered. "And I managed to pull myself up from the ground. But it was too late."

Flashback

Night - Field

Young Noshiko watched the Nogitsunes in horror.

Rinko!Nogitsune caught Hayes' hands, turning the gun back around on him to make him shoot himself in the chest and stomach repeatedly, killing him, letting him fall.

Young Noshiko pushed herself up. "Rinko!" Rhys!Nogitsune stalked toward Merrick, gripping him by either side of his head. "Rhys, stop! Rinko!" Rhys!Nogitsune ripped Merrick's head, letting both fall. Both the Nogitsunes got into the military vehicle, driving away. "Rhys!"

Flashback

Day - Oak Creek - Tunnels

The remaining of the Japanese-Americans in the Oak Creek internment camp were running from the Nogitsunes, running down a set of stairs toward a gate in an attempt to get out, but they couldn't.

The Nogitsunes walked downstairs, growling.

Everyone screamed.

Now

Day - Eichen House - Girls' Bathroom

Stacie was in the bathroom alone, showering, letting the water pour down around her, gazing off into nothing, washing off the blood that had been left behind by the flesh that she had to have had to pull off of her skin. She was in shock, traumatized, guilt-ridden and devastated.

  ¤•¤°¤•¤

Outside

Scott, Tara, Ari, Derek and Adriana were moving Void!Stacie's paralyzed body into the trunk of Derek's car.

Scott and Tara looked toward the building.

Stacie was dressed in clean, normal clothes, walking down the stone steps slowly, looking vacant.

The others looked at her sadly in sympathy. Derek was worried and concerned.

Scott looked at Tara. "Tara, do you think she's going to be okay?"

"No," Tara answered. "Not for a while. But eventually."

Stacie walked out of the front gate.

Ari and Adriana walked closer, holding Stacie comfortingly for a moment, pulling away.

"Let's get you out of here," Ari told her.

Stacie nodded in agreement.

Oak Creek - Shelter

Young Noshiko knelt next to her bed, reaching underneath the bed to grab her katana, taking it out.

Noshiko: (voice over) "I had to find them. I had to stop them."

"Kira, hurry," Noshiko told her. "Night is coming."

Flashback

Night - Oak Creek - Tunnels

Young Noshiko was wielding the sword against the two Nogitsunes, slashing toward them repeatedly, screaming in frustration.

Rhys!Nogitsune couldn't fight back because of the technicality that he couldn't hurt the one who summoned him.

Young Noshiko ran Rhys!Nogitsune through with her katana, making him fall.

Young Noshiko turned to drive the sword into Rinko!Nogitsune. Rinko!Nogitsune caught her arms, slamming them down against her knee, nearly breaking her arms, roaring in her face.

Satomi appeared, stabbing her claws into Rinko!Nogitsune's back, shifting, letting her eye glow gold, biting the Nogitsune to distract her, making her scream in pain.

Young Noshiko ran the katana into Rinko!Nogitsune, making her roar in pain, taking it out.

The katana shattered into pieces, falling to the ground.

Both of the Nogitsunes were dead on the ground.

Young Noshiko knelt next to them.

Flies flew out of the bodies' mouths. These were the Nogitsunes.

Young Noshiko caught the flies in her hands, keeping her hands closed around them so they wouldn't get away and travel to new hosts.

Rhys spoke one phrase before he died again. "Coup de foudre [bolt of lightning]."

Satomi stood next to Young Noshiko, looking at her in regret and sadness.

Young Noshiko hung her head, crying.

Now

Day - Beacon Hills High School - History Classroom

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

Noshiko put the last piece together. "The literal translation is 'a bolt of lightning'. In French, it can also mean 'love at first sight'. But a bolt of lightning is exactly what we need right now."

"For what?" Kira asked.

"Excising the Nogitsune from Rhys and Rinko's bodies shattered the katana," Noshiko explained. "But you can put it back together."

"Why don't you just do it yourself?" Kira asked.

"Because I'm not a thunder Kitsune," Noshiko answered. "Do you trust me?"

"I just found out you're 900 years old," Kira told her. "I don't think I'm ever gonna trust you again."

"Trust me on this," Noshiko told her, taking her by the hand.

Kira looked at Angel. "Angel?"

Angel nodded.

Kira looked at the sword.

Noshiko held Kira's hand over the broken katana.

The sword clattered and clicked and glowed as a wave of magnetism started to put the sword magically back together.

Kira and Angel watched in shocked, awed silence.

Stilinski Home - Hallway

Derek, Stacie, Scott, Ari, Adriana and Tara walked in, stopping in the hallway between Stacie and Stiles' room. They saw that Sheriff, Allison, Natalie and Chris were in Stiles' room.

¤•¤°¤•¤

Stiles' Room

Derek, Stacie, Scott, Ari, Adriana and Tara walked in.

Stacie was looking less weak, less pale, but still a little sick. "Dad." Sheriff, Allison, Natalie and Chris turned to face them. Sheriff looked at Stacie in relief. Stacie had tears in her eyes. "It's me. It's really me."

Sheriff and Stacie walked toward each other, embracing tightly in relief, both starting to cry in relief yet sadness. They pulled away.

Natalie looked at Stacie, smiling a small smile. "Oh, my God, Stacie. Stace, thank God you're okay."

"I'm okay, Natalie," Stacie told her.

Natalie and Stacie chuckled hysterical chuckles, embracing.

Ari smiled.

Allison and Stacie embraced tightly in relief, pulling away.

"Where's the Nogitsune?" Chris asked.

"Paralyzed in the trunk of my car," Derek answered. "For now."

Chris turned to look over the sticky-note covered pieces of the chess board. "Then, what is all this? What are these sticky notes for?"

Derek stood on the other side of Stacie.

"This is what Stiles and I used to try to explain to Dad about all of... you," Stacie answered.

Derek raised his eyebrows, looking to Stacie.

"Cool, maybe it's a message from Stiles," Natalie told them. "The real Stiles."

"You think there's any reason why my name's on the king, Tara's on the queen?" Derek asked.

Ari looked at a chess piece on the side of the table, not on the board. She picked it up, seeing that the name on the piece was Isaac.

"Well, you're heavily guarded," Sheriff told them. "But I guess the alarming detail is that you're one move from being in checkmate."

"That's not a message from Stiles," Chris told them. "It's a threat from his Nogitsune."

"He's at the loft," Tara told them. "That's what he's trying to tell us."

"And he wants us to come there," Ari agreed.

"Night's falling," Adriana stated.

"This couldn't sound any more like a trap," Chris told them.

"I don't think it is," Sheriff told them.

"I think your opinion might be slightly biased, Sheriff," Chris told him.

"Hear me out," Sheriff told them. "What we're dealing with is basically someone who lacks motive. No rhyme, no reason, right?"

"Meaning what?" Adriana asked.

"Our enemies are not killers," Sheriff told them. "They're tricksters. Killing is just a by-product."

"If you're saying they won't kill us, I'm not feeling too confident on that," Derek told him.

Stacie looked at Derek.

Derek shook his head.

"They won't," Sheriff told them. "They want irony. They want to play a trick. They want to play a joke."

Stacie sounded absent-minded. "That's what he said."

"What's that?" Adriana asked.

Stacie looked up, as if she hadn't realized she had said anything at all. "Oh, uh, Void!Stiles, he said that all any Kitsune wants to do is to play a joke, but it turns lethal when it's played by a Nogitsune. All we need to do is come up with a new punch line."

"Sun is setting, Stacie," Natalie told her. "What do you have in mind?"

Stacie didn't answer,  looking between them.

Beacon Hills High School - History Classroom

Angel, Kira, Noshiko and Yukimura were talking.

Kira gasped, taking her hand away from the shattered katana sword that she had just made whole.

Noshiko smiled a little, raising it from the desk, turning to face Kira, holding it out to her. "Go ahead. It's yours now."

"What if I don't want it?" Kira asked.

"You need it," Noshiko told her, tossing the sword to Kira. Kira caught it with one hand, twisting it forward, grabbing the hilt with her other too as if it was natural reflex. "You see? It gives you balance. My power is yours now, Kira. If the Oni can't stop Stacie and Stiles, you have to. The same as I did." Noshiko looked at Angel. "And maybe seek out a few friends to help you."

"You didn't tell us anything," Angel told her.

"You want to save Stiles and Stacie?" Noshiko asked. "Kill them. That's the only way."

Angel looked at Yukimura. "You agree with this?"

"Sometimes history does repeat itself, Angel," Yukimura told her.

Angel shook her head. "Only if you don't learn."

"But sometimes even then, fate conspires against you," Yukimura told them.

Angel's phone buzzed. She took it out, looking at the text from Scott.

Derek and Tara's loft.

Angel showed the text to Kira. She looked at Noshiko and Yukimura. "There's a way to save them. There has to be."

Angel turned around, walking out of the classroom into the hallway.

Kira started to follow.

"Kira," Noshiko told her. Kira turned to face her. Noshiko handed the sheath of the katana to Kira. Kira took it, putting the sword inside the sheath. "Be careful of who your friends are. Even if you do trust Angel, despite not knowing anything about what Angel is or what she's capable of, Angel doesn't know how to control herself or to fight the way you do. Being Angel's friend, being with her, could get her hurt or killed. Sometimes the best ways to keep someone safe is to stay away. Remember that."

Kira didn't answer, giving her a look, walking out, leaving.

Adriana, Isaac, Lydia and Deaton still had Allison, Ari, Stiles and Scott submerged into the water.

Ari and Scott opened their eyes. Ari's eyes were glowing blue. Scott's eyes were glowing gold.

Adriana felt the pain of Ari drowning, breathing deeply. Her eyes were glowing red.

Stacie was suddenly in pain, nearly falling to her knees, holding herself standing between the two tubs on either side of her. (Slow motion)

Noshiko: (voice over) "It was their sacrifice that brought their power back."

3.22 "De-Void" Promo

From 3.22 "De-Void", in the basement of Eichen House, Void!Stiles took the last knife/tail from Noshiko, stabbing himself in the stomach with it.

Lydia: (voice over) "Next on Worlds Colliding (Teen Wolf)"

"What have you done?" Noshiko asked.

Void!Stiles fell to his knees. "Chaos has come again."

From 3.22 "De-Void", in the loft, Void!Stacie was paralyzed with Kanima venom for precaution, looking at Derek in amusement. "Don't you want real revenge?"

From 3.22 "De-Void", in the study of the Argent Apartment, Chris was tied to a chair.

Derek doused him with gasoline. "You burn my family, I burn yours."

From 3.22 "De-Void", in Stiles' mind, Stacie seemed to be in a room of Eichen House. Glass surrounded her, raining down around her.

From 3.22 "De-Void", in the loft, Chris aimed his gun at Void!Stiles.

Sheriff aimed his gun at Chris. "You're not gonna shoot my son."

Stacie drew her gun, aiming at Chris. "Put the gun down."

Void!Stacie was paralyzed by the door, smirking. She looked at Chris. "Pull the trigger."

"Dad," Allison told him.

Void!Stacie was smirking evilly, laughing. "Shoot him!"

"Shoot me!" Void!Stiles told him.

From 3.22 "De-Void", in Stiles' mind, Scott and Tara seemed to be in the loft, kissing, making out heavily. They pulled away.

"This is a trick," Scott told her.

Tara screamed. "No!"

THERE

From 3.22 "De-Void", in the boys' locker room, Isaac tried to slash into Ari. Ari ducked, putting a hand on his chest and the other on his shoulder, pushing him into the lockers.

Adriana spun to kick Natalie's legs out from underneath her, making her all to the floor.

Kira was holding Allison's bow and arrow, aiming at Ethan.

Allison was holding Kira's sword, aiming at Aiden.

Angel was holding her skateboard.
