chapter 3 - The Foundry

From 12.01 "Keep Calm and Carry On", in the basement, Ness, Amara and Octavia were handcuffed, chained to chairs facing each other. They were barefoot and no longer had their jackets on. Floor drains were underneath them. Toni, Watt and Barclay were nearby.
Octavia tilted her head. "What can you do to me?" She nodded to Ness and Amara. "What can you do to them? There's nothing you can do to hurt us that we won't walk away from."
Watt turned on the sink. A hose was attached to the faucet, capturing the water, re-routing it to three shower heads over Ness, Octavia and Amara, making the freezing water fall over them. Watt and Barclay burned the blow torches across the side of Ness and Octavia's feet, making them scream in pain. Later, Ness, Octavia and Amara were no longer chained up.
Amara groaned, dizzy and disoriented. "Oh, what the hell happened?"
"They drugged us," Ness answered.
As the drug started to take affect, they all heard a high-pitched ringing in their heads, holding their heads, groaning in pain. They saw visions, hallucinations, appear in fog clouds ahead of them, surprised, knowing that this was being caused by whatever drug they were given.
Amara heard the voices of her family blaming her for the things that the Darkness made her do, saying "It should've been you, it's your fault, just die."
Amara punched the mirror, making it shatter, picking up a piece of glass. She had tears in her eyes, overwhelmed with everything, the guilt, the pain, the drug, and the hallucinations, holding the glass to her throat.
Octavia looked at Amara. "You're stronger than this. You just have to prove it to yourself."
"Put the glass down, Amara," Ness told her.
Amara had shaky hands. She slowly dropped the glass to the ground, starting to cry. Ness walked closer instantly, pulling Amara into her arms, holding her tightly in the embrace.
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in the basement, Ness, Octavia and Amara were chained up again. Toni slit the knife across Amara's cheek, drawing blood.
Ness struggled angrily, protectively, looking at Toni hatefully. "Get away from her!"
Toni smirked, plunging the knife into Amara, making her groan a scream of pain.
THEN
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in the basement, Ness, Octavia and Amara were chained to their chairs. Sam and Dean were standing with the chains on their arms hung over two hooks from the ceiling.
"She's British Men of Letters," Octavia told them.
"Aren't we supposed to be on the same team?" Sam asked.
Watt put the knife pick up to Dean's eye. "Did you know it's possible to die from pain?"
They heard a gun cock, looking toward the sound.
Catty aimed a gun at Toni, Watt and Barclay. "Get the hell away from my family."
Later, while Catty had been fighting Toni, Watt and Barclay, Sam and Dean had gotten Ness, Octavia and Amara free. Sam pulled Octavia into his arms in relief. Octavia smiled, returning the embrace. Dean pulled Ness and Amara into his arms.
Ness, Octavia and Amara looked at Sabrina in shock. "Sow?"
Sabrina smiled. "Hi."
From 4.13 "After School Special", in the high school hallway, Sam, Dean and Catty were talking, dressed as a janitor, gym teacher and art teacher respectively.
"So, the kid had Ectoplasm leaking out of his ear?" Dean asked.
From 4.13 "After School Special", in the bathroom, Ectoplasm was leaking out of April's eye.
Catty: (voice over from 4.13 After School Special) "It's got to be Ghost possession."
From 4.13 "After School Special", in the school hallway, the Ghost-possessed girl kicked Sam in the face, making him fall to the floor.
Sam: (voice over from 4.13 After School Special) "If they get angry enough, they can take control of a person's body."
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in Vince's hotel room, Jen/Lucifer was persuading Vince into letting him in. "Vince, together, we can heal your sister Wendy."
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in the hotel room, Vince/Lucifer looked at Tommy, letting his eyes glow red.
Crowley: (voice over from 12.02 Mamma Mia) "We gotta put Lucifer back in the Cage."
Vince/Lucifer backhand punched Tommy in the face hard enough to make him fly through the door and break it down.
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in the throne room of Hell, Crowley threw the acid onto Vince/Lucifer, making it burn into his skin and him scream in pain. Vince/Lucifer stood to face them, opening his eyes, letting them glow red. He started to illuminate bright white light. His fallen Angel wings appeared in shadows over the wall behind him, larger than any other Angel's. He let the light and the wings fade, holding his hands over his face, emanating them with white light to heal his burned skin, as though nothing had happened. Crowley disappeared, leaving.
Rowena was incredulous that he would run and leave her with Lucifer. "Seriously?"
From 11.23 "Alpha and Omega", in the cemetery, Mary stood over Sabrina's unconscious body, turning to face Catty and Castiel.
Mary: (voice over from 12.01 Keep Calm and Carry On) "I've heard of people coming back from the dead before."
From 12.01 "Keep Calm and Carry On", in the park, Sam, Dean and Mary were sitting at the table.
"But actually do it after 30 years?" Mary asked.
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in the control room of the Bunker, Sam, Dean, Catty and Mary were talking.
"I just have a lot of blanks to fill in," Mary told them.
"Having you here fills in the biggest blank," Catty told her.
Mary smiled. They stood, each of them embracing, though they were all still very worried about their missing family.
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in the library of the Bunker, the family were sitting around the table.
Sam looked at Octavia. "You gave up your Grace, and you were Human, and you had to go through all that..."
Catty looked at Sabrina, Castiel, Ness and Amara. "What Sammy's not telling Ava is that he's nervous about her changing her mind about being Human and marrying him."
Octavia looked at Sam. "No, I haven't."
From 12.02 "Mamma Mia", in the park, the wedding was commencing. Sam placed a hand on Octavia's cheek, kissing her passionately. Octavia wrapped her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. Sabrina, Amara and Dean cheered. Mary and Catty smiled, clapping. Sabrina and Amara tossed flower petals over Sam and Octavia, smiling. Castiel and Levi smiled. Sabrina and Levi looked at each other, smiling. Sam and Octavia continued to kiss passionately and endlessly.

Day One
St. Paul, Minnesota
Night - Street
A couple walked down the street.
"'Played out'?" the man asked. "You're kidding. That place was great."
"Another avocado toast?" the woman asked. "Please."
"Yeah, but avocado toast with quail egg?" the man asked. "Genius." They were both using an app on their phones. "How many stars you giving them?"
"Two," the woman answered.
"Four," the man told her. "You realize our ratings our just gonna cancel each other out."
§
Housing Development
The couple was walking through the housing development, looking at a commercial development sign.
"Should've bought here when we had the chance," the woman told him. "I mean, new restos, new stores--"
"New prices," the man told her. "Neighborhood's been picked clean by flippers, and condo developers."
They continued to walk, looking at their phone. They heard the sound of a baby crying in the distance.
"Did you hear that?" the woman asked.
The man looked up from his phone, listening. "Yeah, it came from that house over there."
They looked at an abandoned looking house.
"Yeah, but who'd want to live in there?" the woman asked.
"Squatters or crackheads?" the man suggested, looking at his phone.
"With a baby?" the woman asked. The crying sound increased, which only increased the woman's concern and worry. "Call 911."
The man looked from his phone. "What?"
The woman walked toward the house. "Do it."
"Okay, okay," the man told her, calling 911.
Operator: "911, what's your emergency?"
"Hi," the man told her. "There's a baby in distress in an abandoned house at..." He looked at the house for an address, seeing that the woman was walking up the stairs to the house. "Nat!"
§
Inside - Foyer
Nat walked in, looking around. "Hello?"
Nat walked around the main floor, following the crying baby sounds.
§
Bedroom
Nat walked in, discovering a crib with a flickering light above it, leaning over, folding the blanket down, finding a creepy baby doll in the crib, jumping back into the man who had now caught up to her.
"What?" the man asked.
Nat was terrified, shaking her head. She jumped, grabbing her arm. "Something touched my arm. I mean, it's something--"
They both started to panic.
"We have to get out of here now," the man told her.
"Okay," Nat told her.
They turned to leave the room. The door slammed closed. They turned around to see their attacker. Nat started to scream in terror.

Day Two
Lebanon, Kansas
Morning - The Bunker - Library
Mary was sitting alone at the table, looking through John's Journal.
Octavia walked in, looking a little concerned.
Mary saw her, smiling tiredly. "Ava. What are you doing up?"
"Oh, it's Ariel and Faith," Octavia answered. "Uh..."
Mary nodded. "Newborn babies. I understand."
"Yeah," Octavia told her. "And I'm not used to needing sleep."
"That makes two of us," Mary told her. Octavia walked closer. Mary sighed, closing the journal. "Anyway, I think I'll go try again." She stood, walking past her toward the door. "Wish me luck."
"Luck," Octavia told her.
Mary stopped, turning to face her. "Ava?" Octavia turned to face her. "After you left Heaven, when did it start to feel like... like you fit? Like you... belonged here?"
Octavia sighed. "A while. Sam, Dean, Catty, Ness and Cas... they helped with that. I was dead for three years before I was resurrected the second time. And I found it hard to start living again." Mary nodded in understanding. "And Sam, Dean, Catty, Ness and Cas helped me with that again, and so did Sabrina. Now that you're here, I'm sure all of them, Ariel, Faith, Amara and Aiden... even Levi, can help you feel that way, too." Mary sighed, smiling a small smile, turning to leave. "Mary..." Mary stopped. "You do belong here."
Mary managed a small smile. "Thank you, Ava."
Mary walked out, leaving.
Octavia watched her go, sighing, looking at the bottles in her hands.
§
Bathroom
Mary was washing her face, getting ready for the day. She looked at herself in the mirror for a moment, picking up a pair of scissors, starting to cut her hair.
§
Kitchen
Sam and Octavia were sitting at the table, feeding Ariel and Faith, eating their own breakfast.
"It is so weird to actually need to eat something," Octavia told him. "And to actually love the taste of food..."
Sam chuckled. "I take it you're still adapting to the life of a married Human mother."
Octavia nodded. "That's one way to put it."
Sam and Octavia smiled, looking at each other, kissing slowly and softly.
Dean, Ness and Amara walked in with Aiden to feed him.
"All right, enough of the PDA, newlywed lovebirds," Dean told them.
"Shut up, Dean," Sam told him.
Dean chuckled, looking at Octavia. "You've now been an Angel, a Human, a wife, a mother, and Lucifer." Octavia rolled her eyes. "And now you're what? Octavia Winchester?"
"I wasn't really planning on adapting a new name," Octavia told them.
"What, the thought of a last name is too different for you?" Dean asked.
"Shut up, Dean," Octavia told him.
"Yeah, you totally can't see that you're married," Amara told them sarcastically.
"Hilarious, Amara," Octavia told her sarcastically.
Amara smiled, sitting at the table across from them.
Dean looked at Ness, taking Aiden from her, sitting him at the table to start feeding him. "All right, so what have you found out on Her Majesty Secret suckbags?"
"Well, I turned the Bunker upside down looking for any reference whatsoever to the British Men of Letters, and all I found was this letter tucked into an old ledger from the London Chapterhouse," Ness told them, unfolding the letter.
"Okay, well, that's something," Amara told them.
"Yeah, uh, not so much," Ness told them, showing them the redacted letter.
Amara took the letter to look at, but unable to read all of it.
"Awesome," Dean told them sarcastically.
Catty, Sabrina and Castiel appeared in the doorway.
"Morning, sunshines," Ness told them. "Want some coffee?"
"No, thanks," Castiel answered. "Sow and I have to go, meet up with Levi."
Sabrina and Castiel walked out, leaving.
The others exchanged a look.
Catty followed Sabrina and Castiel. "Cas? Sabrina?"
"Amara, can you hold Ariel for me for a minute?" Octavia asked.
"Of course, Aunt Ava," Amara answered.
Octavia handed Ariel to Amara, standing, following.
§
Hallway
Catty and Octavia followed Sabrina and Castiel down the hallway.
"Cas," Octavia told him. "Sabrina." Sabrina, Castiel, Catty and Octavia stopped. "Where you meeting Levi at?"
"Cleveland, Ohio," Castiel answered.
"For what?" Catty asked.
"Levi thinks he has a lead on Lucifer," Sabrina answered.
"Lucifer's warded himself against Sow so she can't find him using her powers," Castiel explained. "But Levi found a police report in Cleveland about a man who's eyes flared a glowing red."
Octavia nodded in understanding. "So Levi thinks it could be Lucifer in a new body."
"All right, yeah, that sounds like something," Catty told them. "We should check it out."
"No," Sabrina told them.
"No?" Catty repeated. "I'm sorry, what?"
Castiel sighed. "Ava, you and Sam have a responsibility here with Ariel and Faith, just as Ness and Dean have a responsibility with Aiden and Amara. Catty, you, Sam and Dean have a responsibility here with your mother Mary."
"We can find the Devil, and then I can send his ass back to the Cage," Sabrina told them. "And I can do it without you guys getting hurt."
"Yeah, but just--just because I'm Human now doesn't mean I'm useless," Octavia told them.
"We know, Ava," Castiel told her.
"You're gonna want some backup on this," Catty told them.
"That's why Levi's helping us," Sabrina told them.
"More than just Levi," Octavia told them.
Sabrina sighed. "If it is Lucifer, we will call you. In the meantime, you should stay here."
"If you two and Levi need help with Lucifer, I can get my Grace back long enough to deal with him," Octavia told them.
"I don't think that will be necessary, Ava," Castiel told her. "But if it is, we will let you know. You don't have to take your Grace back until Ariel and Faith are old enough to need you to teach them their powers. Let's keep it that way."
Catty sighed, nodding, rolling her eyes slightly, relenting. "Fine. Come here." Catty, Castiel and Sabrina embraced for a moment, pulling away. Catty and Castiel smiled small smiles, kissing slowly and passionately for a long moment, pulling away. Catty looked at Sabrina and Castiel seriously. "Be safe. Both of you."
"Sow, Levi and I will be fine, Catty," Castiel told her. "Don't worry."
"I think we all know that me not worrying is an impossibility at this point, Cas," Catty told him.
Castiel smiled a small smile. Sabrina laughed quietly in agreement.
"And make sure Levi doesn't get himself hurt because he's trying to help you," Octavia told them.
Sabrina and Castiel nodded in agreement. Sabrina put a hand on Castiel's arm, disappearing with him, leaving. Catty and Octavia exchanged a look, sighing, turning around, walking in the way they had came.
§
Kitchen
Catty and Octavia walked into the kitchen to see that Mary had joined the others.
"What was that about?" Mary asked.
"Angel business," Octavia answered.
Mary saw bacon on the table. "Ooh."
"Oh, we can fry up some more," Sam told her. "That's--that's probably cold by now, Mom."
Mary picked up a piece, giving Sam a look. "It's bacon."
Mary ate the bacon.
Catty smiled. "Wow. We are so related."
They smiled, chuckling.
"Did you cut your hair?" Sam asked.
"Yeah," Mary answered. "I just needed a change, you know?"
They nodded.
Ness showed them her laptop. "So, I found a case. Minnesota. Two dead, locked room. Victims had put in a call about a crying baby, but the place was empty. The only thing at the scene was their bodies. It's been five days, and the coroner still hasn't put out a cause of death. Seems fishy." Dean nodded in agreement. Ness looked at Catty, Sam and Dean. "You down to hunt?"
"Always," Catty answered.
"Can I tag along?" Amara asked. "I mean, not to hunt or anything. Just to... like a field trip. Ever since what happened with the British bitches..." Dean and Ness gave her an amused look. "Don't look at me when both of you and Aunt Catty are always saying 'Son of a bitch'. Like, every day, sometimes more than once a day. Sow and I might have picked up on it, not because we wanted to, but because Sow and I are so used to it." Catty, Dean and Ness exchanged an amused look, knowing she was right. Sam, Octavia and Mary chuckled lightly. "Just since what happened, I've been restless, and I've been here for too long, and it feels like I'm suffocating."
Sam looked at Dean and Ness, shrugging. "It's up to you."
"Um..." Ness trailed off. "I--I guess. I mean..."
"Come on," Dean told her. "It's not like she's actually gonna be hunting. We talked about this, Ness. Amara's a Winchester and a Singer. It's in her blood."
"Yeah, I mean, it's not like I get to live a normal life after what happened," Amara told them. "And you guys did say that you would help me learn how to defend myself so nothing like that would happen."
Mary looked as if she got an idea. "Ness, you should go with them. I can stay here with Ava, help her with Aiden, Ariel and Faith."
"Are you sure?" Ness asked.
"Yeah," Mary answered. "I mean, you seem to need to get out and stretch your legs, too."
"We will be fine here, Ness," Octavia told her.
Ness was still unsure.
"Hey," Dean told her. Ness looked at him. Dean spread his arms, raising his eyebrows, smiling. "Family hunting trip."
They looked at Ness.
Ness looked between them. "Sure."
"All right, meet at the car in ten," Dean told them.
Amara and Mary walked out, leaving.
Dean stood, turning to face Catty, Octavia, Sam, Ness and the babies.
Sam made sure that Amara and Mary were gone, looking at Dean. "Are you sure, after what happened with the Men of Letters? What if Amara needs a little R&R?"
"After what happened with Amara and the Brit bitches, I'm worried about her," Dean admitted. "I just kinda wanna keep an eye on Mar." Sam, Octavia, Catty and Ness nodded in understanding. "Look, Ness, Sow healed your s'mores foot, all right? She healed Ava and Amara, too. I've got Baby back to mend. We're road-ready."
Ness thought about it for a moment. "I think this is a chance to help Amara." They looked at her. "I mean, Ava, we saw Amara, how she's still torn up inside about the things that happened when she was possessed by the Darkness." Octavia nodded in agreement, sadly. "Being cooped up and alone here isn't going to help her any, either, not when she's mostly staying in her room, tormented with thoughts in her head about what happened. Dean's right. We might have to get Amara out of here and doing something before she can fully move on."
Octavia sighed. "I know you're worried about Amara starting to hunt, and I am too. But this might be what she needs to move on. To stop being tormented about everything that happened. To save her life. If Amara keeps going like she is, then there might be a second time she tries to kill herself." They all looked at each other sadly, knowing this was true. "Maybe this is what Amara needs. Go ahead. Mary, Ariel, Faith and Aiden will be fine here with me."
"All right," Catty told them. "Let's hunt."
Dean looked at Octavia, gesturing to the dishes on the table. "Ava, you're gonna have..."
Catty and Dean walked out, leaving.
Octavia scoffed softly, rolling her eyes.
Sam and Ness sighed, exchanging a look.
Ness stood, following them, walking out, leaving.
Sam stood. "Ava, you sure you're gonna be okay?"
"Of course," Octavia answered. "If I can handle losing my Grace, being tortured for days, and being possessed by the Devil while pregnant with Nephilims while being tortured by the Darkness, I can handle staying at home with your mother and three babies." Sam chuckled. "Besides, it'll give me time to get to know Mary. You go, be with your family. We'll be fine."
Sam nodded, smiling. "Okay."
Octavia smiled. "Okay."
Sam and Octavia looked at each other for a moment, kissing slowly, softly, but deeply and passionately for a moment, pulling away, smiling small smiles.
"Bye," Sam told her.
"Bye, Sam," Octavia told him.
Sam kissed both Ariel and Faith on the heads, rubbing Aiden on his head, walking out, leaving.
Octavia watched him go, smiling, chuckling, shaking her head.
§
Gas Station - Outside
Sam, Dean and Catty were standing outside of the Impala, filling it with gas.
Amara was sitting inside.
Ness walked out of the station, noticing a black motorcycle by the door. "Nice bike."
Ness walked past toward the car.
§
The Impala
Ness got into the backseat of the car with Amara with a bag of food. "We've got your teriyaki jerky, we've got sriracha, and we got chilly lime, which is my personal favorite."
"I wanna try it," Amara told her.
Ness handed her the bag.
Amara took a piece, taking a bite.
Catty got into the backseat on the other side of Ness.
Sam and Dean got into the front seats.
Ness looked at Amara. "Eh?"
Amara smiled. "It's... good, kind of tingly."
Catty nodded. "That's how you know it's working."
Sam and Dean smiled.
Dean turned the radio on.
(Song:) Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Sam went to turn the radio down, but Amara turned it up.
Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty were surprised and impressed.
Dean and Ness exchanged a look, smiling, proud.
Sam and Catty smiled at their reactions.
Dean started to drive them away.

Cleveland, Ohio
Hotel - Reception Area
Castiel was questioning Tommy.
Tommy was overwhelmed, rubbing a hand over his forehead. "Look, I've been around all stripes of Vince, all right? Drunk Vince, depressed Vince, megalomaniacal, 'I'm a Golden God' Vince. The Vince who threw me through that door..." He shook his head. "It wasn't him. And it wasn't just his eyes, man. I mean, his strength, he was--he was like an MMA fighter. Hell, he was, like, 20."
Tommy took a drink.
"If you hear from him, don't hesitate to call," Castiel told him, handing a card to Tommy, standing.
Tommy looked at the card. "Okay, Agent... Beyonce."
Castiel nodded, walking away toward Sabrina and Levi. Sabrina smiled smugly.
Castiel gave her a look. "Sow."
Levi smiled in amusement. "That's what you get for letting Sabrina pick out your alias name, Cas."
"Yeah, Levi's right about that, Dad," Sabrina told him, her smile fading when she sensed someone coming, rolling her eyes. "Oh, great."
Crowley appeared behind Sabrina and Levi, walking closer. "I guess that makes me Agent Jay-Z."
Sabrina tilted her head in annoyance, turning to face Crowley. "More like Agent Go To Hell."
Crowley smirked. "Now, now."
Castiel, Sabrina and Levi exchanged an annoyed look.
§
St. Paul, Minnesota
Hospital - Morgue
Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness were in a morgue talking to a coroner, posing as FBI, showing him their badges. Amara was standing nearby, watching.
Ness looked at the coroner. "Agent Shirley Partridge out of the Minneapolis field office. These are Agents Cassidy, Bonaduce and Madden. Amara there is an FBI intern, right out of high school."
They put their badges away.
"This is a local case," the coroner told them. "Why would the FBI be interested?"
"These Agents are new, and Amara's an intern," Ness told him. "One of their first cases have to have training wheels, and we're teaching Amara the ropes. We wanted to have a look at the bodies."
"Now, you haven't filed a report," Sam told him. "Has there been any problem determining the cause of death?"
"Problem?" the coroner asked. "No. No, no, no. Uh, I figured out the cause. It just doesn't make any damn sense."
Dean was investigating the body, seeing a handprint on the dead woman's arm. "Is this a burn?"
"Frostbite," the coroner answered. "Yeah. Both victims died of acute hypothermia. In a 65 degree room." They looked at him in surprise. "When I opened them up, their hearts were literally--and I mean literally--frozen. You want to tell me how to present that to the public? Or to their families?" The coroner looked at Ness. "So much for training wheels, huh?"
§
Cleveland, Ohio
Hotel - Outside
Castiel, Sabrina, Levi and Crowley walked out of the hotel into the parking lot.
"Bumping into each other, working the same leads?" Crowley asked. "What are the odds? Fate brought us together."
"I know you've been following us since Dad and I met up with Levi," Sabrina told him. "Nice try." She looked at Levi, smiling. "Hey, Levi and try. It rhymes. Do did that."
Levi smiled a little in amusement. Castiel chuckled.
"We made a somewhat effective team against the Darkness," Crowley told them. "It's been months. I mean, months since we last tried to kill each other. We all have very, very good reasons to want Lucifer dead." Sabrina stepped closer to Castiel and Levi to make them disappear. Crowley stepped in her way. Sabrina rolled her eyes, trying to step around him toward Castiel and Levi. Crowley stepped in her way. Sabrina held her hand toward Crowley in annoyance, using magic to push him into the truck behind, pinning him. Crowley groaned in pain. Castiel and Levi smirked in amusement. "Is that really necessary?"
Sabrina lowered her arm, smirking smugly, raising one shoulder slightly in a cute shrug, turning to Castiel and Levi, who both smirked, seeming proud.
Levi took a breath. "Cas, while you were getting answers from Vince's second fiddle, Sabrina and I were going through his room. Found these." He took out two postcards. "Postcards from his sister Wendy. Oh, looky here. An address and everything. Worth a look."
Sabrina put her hands on Castiel and Levi's shoulders, disappearing with them, leaving.
Crowley was released from Sabrina's magic, groaning in pain.

St. Paul Minnesota
Abandoned House - Foyer
Sam, Dean, Catty, Ness and Amara walked into the abandoned house where the couple had been killed. They each had EMF meters, which were all going off.
Dean looked at Amara. "You sure you got the swing of that thing?"
"For the third time, yes," Amara answered. "Dad, I'm good."
Dean nodded. "Right."
They walked along.
Ness and Amara separated from Catty, Sam and Dean, splitting up to cover more ground.
§
Bedroom
Ness opened the door to the room where the couple had been in, walking inside.
Amara followed, shining her flashlight around.
They found a baby crib with a dead baby corpse inside.
A light bulb over the crib was flickering.
Amara turned off her EMF meter, exhaling. Her breath was visible.
Ness pulled back the blanket over the baby's body.
They heard Dean's voice in the distance. "Ness, Amara, we got something over here."
Ness and Amara walked toward the door.
The door slammed closed in front of them.
Ness tried to get the door open to no avail. "Sam? Dean? Catty?"
Sam, Dean and Catty walked closer.
"Ness?" Sam asked. "Amara?"
They each tried to get the door open to no avail.
"Dad!" Amara called. "Uncle Sam? Aunt Catty?"
"Hold on," Sam told them. "We're coming."
"Ness, Amara, get away from the door," Catty told them.
Ness and Amara backed away from the door.
A Ghost of a little boy appeared, grabbing Amara by her arm.
Amara shone her light on the face of the little boy with blonde hair and a scar on his cheek, swinging her iron knife through the Ghost of the little boy, making him disappear.
The door burst open.
Sam, Dean and Catty ran inside.
Amara looked at the frostbite handprint on her arm, groaning in pain.
"You're hurt," Ness told her.
"I'm fine," Amara told them.
Dean and Ness pulled Amara toward them to make sure she was fine, realizing that Amara was telling the truth because she wasn't that hurt, holding her reassuringly.
"Let's go," Catty told them. "Come on. Come on."
They walked out, leaving.
The camera panned out to the doll's face, then the crib.
§
Motel Room
They were in a motel room.
Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness were sitting at the table, researching on their laptops.
Amara walked out of the bathroom, toward them. "Okay. Where are you guys at?"
"I'm already in the St. Paul Police Department database," Ness answered.
"Anything?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, a lot," Ness answered. "I got police reports filed from 2004, uh, '91, '89, '85, '78." He looked at the picture of the little Ghost boy and a little girl. The article about the girl said 'Local Girl Killed in Hit and Run'. "All deaths. All kids. Looks like it started with this girl here. Elizabeth Moriarty."
Amara saw the picture of the boy. "That's the boy who grabbed me. Lucas Kellinger."
Amara backed away, withdrawn and nervous, sitting down on a bed.
"Amara, don't worry about it," Catty told her. "We'll teach you how to do this."
Amara managed a small smile, looking down. "I know, Aunt Catty. Thanks."
"Are you okay?" Dean asked.
Amara looked up. "It's just... since those Brit bitches drugged me... the things that I saw... what I almost did..."
Dean looked understanding and concerned, worried, standing, walking closer. "Look. Whatever happened happened, okay? But it wasn't your fault. And you were strong enough to get through it before. You're strong enough to get through it now."
"I almost killed myself because what I saw," Amara told them. "Because of what I heard."
Ness stood, walking closer. "Yeah, but you didn't. Because you're strong enough to pull through. All right? You are strong enough."
Amara looked reassured, nodding, sighing.
§
Wendy's House - Outside
Levi, Sabrina and Castiel appeared. Castiel was not wearing his trench coat over his suit because he was posing as FBI.
Sabrina sensed something behind her, rolling her eyes, turning to face Crowley. "Would you please stop following us before I send you running back to Hell, and not as its King?"
Crowley raised his hands in a harmless gesture. "Just trying to help you, Cas and Levi, Sabrina."
"You don't 'help', Crowley," Levi told him. "You manipulate to get what you want. Catty and Sabrina Winchester and Cas know that better than anyone."
"True as that may be, Levi..." Crowley trailed off, looking behind Sabrina and Levi.
Sabrina and Levi frowned in confusion, turning to follow his gaze to see Castiel looking into the rear view mirror of a nearby truck to fix his tie and his hair.
Levi cleared his throat. "Cas."
Castiel looked up.
Sabrina raised her eyebrows in a seriously motion.
Castiel sighed heavily, walking closer.
§
Later
Castiel and Crowley stood at the door to the house. Sabrina and Levi stood out of sight. Castiel knocked. A blonde woman answered the door.
"Hello," Castiel told her. "I'm Agent Beyonce, and this is my, um... my partner, Agent Z." Crowley smiled. "Um, we wanted to ask you a few questions about your bro--" Wendy closed the door in their faces. "...ther." Castiel turned to face Crowley, Levi and Sabrina. "Do you think that happens to Ness, Sam, Dean and Catty? Something that might happen to Amara?"
Crowley nodded sarcastically. "Oh, all the time."
Sabrina rolled her eyes, zapping into the house.
§
Inside - Kitchen
Wendy was in the kitchen, on the phone. "Vinny, please call me. I got two federal agents asking for you. Don't know what was with you yesterday, but you're in trouble."
Sabrina appeared behind her. "How right you are, Wendy." Wendy turned to face her, hanging up the phone, putting it down. Sabrina walked toward the door, opening it to let Castiel, Levi and Crowley in. "So... Vince was here." Castiel closed the door. "Yesterday."
They walked toward Wendy.
"Odd," Castiel told them. 'She's been recently healed."
"Is that so?" Crowley asked, looking around, seeing a wheelchair nearby. "Let me guess. Your brother got you up and walking again. And how are you enjoying the use of those legs? You know, the gift he a gave you, I can take away like--"
Crowley raised his hand to snap his fingers.
Sabrina easily stopped him with her power, without a move, making Crowley gasp in pain when he couldn't do anything.
Levi smirked in amusement, walking toward Wendy. "The thing that healed you, that wasn't your brother. Something... something else, something old and evil. I... I think a part of you knows that. We don't want to hurt Vince. We wanna help him."
Wendy looked at Castiel and Sabrina.
Castiel and Sabrina nodded in agreement.
Wendy sighed, giving in. "He showed up out of the blue, and he fixed me like a miracle. But he did it cold, like... it was nothing to him. Like he was running an errand. Barely said a word. And then he just took off with his groupie friend."
"His groupie friend?" Castiel repeated.
Wendy nodded. "Red-headed broad. Didn't say much."
Levi, Castiel and Sabrina realized she was talking about Rowena, turning to give Crowley a look.
Crowley knew he was busted, looking away sheepishly.
§
Outside
Crowley, Castiel and Sabrina walked outside.
"So, Vince's cabin in Sagamore Hills," Crowley told them. "Apparently, all of his greatest records were written there. 'Serpentine', 'Theater of Mercy'..."
"Sabrina, Cas and I should've known there was something you weren't telling us," Levi told him. They stopped walking. "Rowena?"
"So, Mother and I had an unfortunate, if not rather embarrassing, run-in with Lucifer," Crowley told them. "You're just mad because you three are only my second choice for a Lucifer-hunt team-up."
Sabrina looked at him tauntingly in amusement. "No, actually, I think it's sweet. I thought your motivation was ambition and revenge, but now I know you just wanna save your mommy."
Crowley turned to face them in annoyance. "It's not about saving her. Lucifer has made off with a colossally power Witch. He will either kill her, control her, or she will offer her services to the biggest bad in town in order to save her neck, like she always does. Do any of those sound like particularly good outcomes to either of you?"
Castiel gave Crowley a look. "You know that Levi, Sabrina and I can do this alone. You know that we don't need you or Rowena. Don't try to turn this into something bigger than it is."

Vince's Cabin - Outside
A truck was parked outside of the cabin.
§
Inside
Vince/Lucifer was looking at his degrading vessel in the mirror, looking into the mirror to see the reflection of Rowena in chains behind him. "You got any beauty spells locked up in that Witchy brain of yours? Huh? Thought this one would last a bit longer before going all Keith Richards on me. This vessel hopping's getting old. Just as I get used to the limitations of one meatsack, I gotta cut bait and jump to the next flawed lump."
"Then you want me to make this permanent?" Rowena asked. "Strong enough to hold you?"
Vince/Lucifer spun around to show off the vessel, smirking. "Does look good on me. Show me what you got, Red. Huh?"
"I--I--I'd help, I would," Rowena told him. "But I don't have 'The Book of the Damned'. I lost it."
Vince/Lucifer walked closer. "You know damned well where you put it. Did you see what I did there? 'Damned'. Besides, you don't need the book." He pointed to Rowena's head. "Clever girl like you must have it all up here by now."
"And if I refuse?" Rowena asked.
"I snap your neck again," Vince/Lucifer answered. "Only this time, I'll rip your head clean off afterwards. Hmm?"
Vince/Lucifer looked quite pleased with himself.
Rowena looked very unhappy about her current situation.

Motel Rom
Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness were sitting at the table, researching.
Amara was sitting on the nearby bed
"Mylings?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, from Scandinavian lore," Ness answered. "Uh, children's Spirits, vengeful ones. Their cries for help lure adults to their death'."
Amara stood, walking closer.
"Anything about frozen hearts?" Sam asked.
"Uh, no, not yet," Ness answered. "But this is just from old, incomplete folk accounts. We all know the lore isn't always 100%."
Sam nodded in agreement. "Mm."
"Maybe, but..." Amara trailed off. They looked at her. "All I know is, that little boy who grabbed me, Lucas, I... he didn't wanna hurt me. He was scared."
Amara sighed, starting to pace.
Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness exchanged a look.
"Yeah, um..." Catty trailed off. "It must've felt that way, but, Amara, the victims were all lured to their death by a baby's cry. Uh, the Spirit marked Natalia right before she was killed, the same way the Spirit marked you."
"Well, look, we know all the kids' names, right?" Dean asked. "We know that they're all buried locally, so I say we salt and burn them. That's the safe bet."
"Agreed," Sam told them.
"All right, well, let's do that," Dean told them.
Sam, Dean and Catty stood.
Amara looked hesitant.
"You guys go ahead," Ness told them. "Amara and I'll be fine here."
"You sure?" Dean asked.
"Yeah," Ness answered. "We'll call if we need you."
"Okay," Sam told them.
"We'll be back soon," Catty told them.
Sam, Dean and Catty grabbed their jackets, walking out, leaving.
Amara looked at Ness in relief. "Thanks."
Ness nodded. "No, it's okay. Digging up graves is probably the last thing you need right now. Besides, we still have some research to do."
"What kind of research?" Amara asked.
"The little boy that grabbed you," Ness told her. "I think you're right. I was there, Amara. I don't think he was trying to hurt you." Amara suddenly looked lightheaded, nearly falling. Ness kept her standing, looking at her worriedly. "Amara? Hey, you okay? Mar?"
Amara nodded. "Yeah, fine. I'm fine." Ness looked at her skeptically, still worried. "I'm fine."
"You saw something, didn't you?" Ness asked.
"Yeah," Amara answered. "I, uh... I saw Lucas. He was asking for help. I think we need to go back."
"I thought you said you didn't actually want to hunt," Ness told her.
"Yeah, but Dad, Uncle Sam and Aunt Catty are at the cemetery," Amara told her. "There's something at the house, Mom. And I know that you are more than capable of taking care of both of us."
Ness sighed heavily, giving in. "All right. But I'm calling Dean to tell them to meet us there."
Amara nodded. "All right."

The Bunker - Ariel and Faith's Nursery
Mary and Octavia were putting the babies to sleep.
"Ava, what is it like?" Mary asked. Octavia looked at her in confusion. "Being an Angel for so long... and then giving up your Grace to become Human for your family?"
"It's... reeling," Octavia answered. "That's one way to describe it. I can only imagine what you're going through."
"I'm just not used to any of this," Mary told her. "I love my children. And their children. I do. It's just..."
"What?" Octavia asked.
"They're not the problem," Mary told her. "I am."
"Mary, you're not a problem," Octavia told her. "Your family loves you."
"I know," Mary told her. "Everything is just so different than I wanted life for them to be. I didn't want this life for them. But I also can't blame them for choosing to continue to live this life after everything that happened."
"The thing is, they get this gene from both your family, and John's family," Octavia told her. "You were good at this back in your day."
"I was," Mary answered. "Very. The thing is, Ava, hunters... no matter how good they are, they all end up the same way. I just don't want that to happen to them."
"You don't have to worry about that, not when they have Sabrina," Octavia told her. "Not until they tell Sow they're ready to go."
Mary considered this seriously.

Night - Cemetery
Sam, Dean and Catty were in the cemetery, salting and burning all of the little kids' remains, standing at Lucas' grave.
"Grim work," Sam told them.
"Yeah," Dean agreed.
"You know, I'm worried about Mom," Catty told them.
"Why?" Dean asked.
"You're not?" Sam asked.
"She's back," Dean told them. "I mean, yeah, she's still working out the kinks. We're all still working out the kinks. But, I mean, can't we, for once, just not turn everything into a problem? You know, can we, for once, just have one good thing?"
"Mom's not a thing," Catty told him.
"Okay," Dean told them.
"Look, I'm happy, too, Dean," Sam told him. "I am. I'm overjoyed. But... there's something about her. I mean, something's going on with her."
"Yeah, she's adjusting," Dean told them.
"No, she's struggling," Sam told them.
Dean sighed. "And ever since being taken, Amara's been struggling, because all of what she had moved past was dragged back into Mar's head by whatever they drugged her with."
"Can't we just have a little while longer of happiness?" Catty asked. "Is that too much to ask?"
They didn't answer, looking at each other.

Vince's Cabin
Vince/Lucifer was standing in the cabin with his shirt off.
Rowena was putting markings on his chest. "Ash of the Hawthorn Tree."
"The pattern?" Vince/Lucifer asked.
"A Druidic glyph," Rowena told him. "I'm using a hybrid spell of my own devise. 'Book of the Damned' and Celtic magic. Should give your vessel the resiliency and strength of the mightiest tree."
"Oh, there's a woody joke in there somewhere," Vince/Lucifer told her. Rowena chuckled. "Let's get back to that nagging little word, 'should'."
Vince/Lucifer grabbed Rowena by the throat threateningly.
"I--I can't promise the spell will last forever," Rowena told him. "There's no known magic for that. But it will last." Vince/Lucifer released Rowena. Rowena turned around to gather the rest of the spell, looking angry. "The final step." She lit some incense, walking toward Vince/Lucifer, starting to walk a circle around him. "Permission to speak, Dark Lord? If... when the spell succeeds and you are restored to your full glory..."
"Will I just kill you?" Vince/Lucifer finished.
"I can be of value beyond this spell," Rowena told him.
"We'll see," Vince/Lucifer told her.
"Thank you, my Liege," Rowena told him. She finished her circle around him, placing her hand on his chest over the glyph she had drawn, looking up at him, chanting. "Fes ti na."
There was a flash of purple light.
Rowena backed away.
Vince/Lucifer seemed to realize that the spell was not what he had thought it was. "Red, what did you do?"
"Sped up the decaying process, my Lord," Rowena answered. "You thought Keith Richards was bad? Try Iggy Pop."
Vince/Lucifer started to decay at an increasing speed. He looked at Rowena in a rage. "Oh, decapitation is far too merciful for you, ginger bitch!" Rowena threw powder into her cauldron. There was a flash of fire. Vince/Lucifer yelled in pain, backing away slightly. "No! You can't destroy me."
"Not yet, but I can send you far, far away," Rowena told him. "Try finding a new vessel at the bottom of the bloody ocean. Abi!"
Vince/Lucifer disappeared in a flash of purple light.
Rowena caught her breath, breathing heavily in relief.

Abandoned House - Foyer
Amara and Ness walked into the house.
Ness had the weapons bag.
Amara had an iron poker.
They looked around.
§
Living Room
Amara and Ness walked in, looking around, but they didn't see anything.
Amara turned around to see Lucas behind her. "Lucas. That's your name, isn't it?" Lucas didn't answer. Ness stepped closer, putting the bag down. Amara stepped closer, putting the iron poker behind her back, looking at Lucas reassuringly, waving. "We're here to help."
Lucas walked toward a door, pointing inside.
Ness walked toward the boarded up door.
Lucas disappeared.
Ness took the poker from Amara, using it to break the boards off the door, walking downstairs.
§
Basement
Ness and Amara walked downstairs. They turned around, seeing Lucas there.
"Lucas, why did you bring us here?" Ness asked.
"Help us," Lucas told them.
Ness' phone rang. She pulled it out, answering. "Hello?"
Sam, Dean and Catty were on the road in the Impala.
Catty was holding her phone on speaker. "Ness, we're on our way to the house. I'm not sure why you and Amara thought you had to go back in. We salted and burned all the remains."
"Yeah, didn't work, Catty," Ness told her. "Dean, hurry."
They could barely hear Sam over the static crackling over the phone. "Okay, get out of the house and wait for us."
"What?" Ness asked. "Hello?"
"Ness?" Dean asked.
"Hello?" Ness asked.
"Ness?" Sam asked.
Dean drove faster down the road.
Ness hung up.
Amara looked at Lucas. "What's keeping you here?"
Lucas pointed behind them. "Him."
Amara and Ness turned around, only to see a wall.
The house started to shake and rumble.
§
Living Room
Amara and Ness ran upstairs to get to the bag of weapons. Amara slid over the floor, grabbing her iron poker and a shotgun, standing, tossing the shotgun to Ness. Ness caught it, holding it ready, looking around. They exhaled. Their breath was visible.
A man's Ghost appeared in front of them.
Ness looked at him in recognition. "You're the father of that little girl. Hugo Moriarty."
Amara looked at him in realization. "You killed them all. All those ch--"
Moriarty used magic to pull Amara closer. Amara swung her iron poker through him to make him disappear before he could touch her.
Sam, Dean and Catty ran inside.
"Amara?" Dean asked. "Ness?"
Moriarty appeared in front of Dean, putting a hand on his chest, starting to freeze his heart, making him gasp in pain.
"Dean!" Ness told him, shooting Moriarty with the shotgun, making him disappear. Dean fell to his knees. Ness walked closer. "Dean. Dean, come on."
Sam helped Dean stand.
Dean elbowed Sam in the face, making his back away. He turned to look over his shoulder toward them. Ectoplasm was leaking from both of his eyes like tears.
"Guys?" Sam asked. "He's possessed."
"Thanks for stating the obvious, Uncle Sam," Amara told him.
Sam, Catty, Ness and Amara looked at Dean/Moriarty worriedly.
Dean/Moriarty smirked.
§
Sam lunged toward the bag of weapons on the floor to grab iron chains, picking them up.
Dean/Moriarty raised his arm toward Sam, using magic to throw him into the wall, making him fall, grabbing the chains, using them to choke Catty, pushing her to the floor, grabbing Ness by her throat, pushing her against the wall, lifting her off the floor. "My house. My children. Forever."
Dean/Moriarty put his hand over Ness' chest, starting to freeze her heart.
Catty struggled to unwrap the chains from around her neck.
Ness struggled to speak. "Dean. You can fight this."
"Dad?" Amara asked. "Dad, don't you let him kill Mom!"
Dean fought for control for his own body, groaning in exertion, letting go of Ness, letting her fall to the floor, backing away, falling to his knees, looking at the ceiling, breathing heavily.
Ness held her chest in pain. "Dean?"
Dean continued to fight, straining. "The basement. Go!"
Sam stood, running out, leaving. He ran into the basement.
Moriarty took control over Dean again.
Catty took the chains, turning to wrap them around Dean/Moriarty.
Dean/Moriarty used magic to throw Catty against the wall, making her fall.
"Dad?" Amara asked.
"Daddy's gone," Dean/Moriarty told her.
Ness held her chest in pain.
§
Basement
Sam looked around.
Lucas appeared, pointing at the wall that he had pointed out to Ness and Amara earlier.
§
Living Room
Dean/Moriarty stood, walking toward Amara.
Amara rolled past him over the floor toward the shotgun Ness had dropped, picking it up, standing, aiming it at Dean/Moriarty.
§
Basement
Sam found a shovel.
§
Living Room
Amara aimed the shotgun at Dean/Moriarty. "Don't. Don't make me."
Dean/Moriarty smirked at the fact that Amara didn't want to shoot her father, waving a hand, using magic to throw the shotgun out of her hands and into the wall, making it fall, walking closer to Amara.
§
Basement
Sam was using the shovel to break down the wall, finding skeletons inside.
§
Living Room
Dean/Moriarty lunged for Amara.
Amara was looking behind him.
Ness and Catty stood behind Dean/Moriarty, wrapping chains around him from behind.
§
Basement
Sam salted the bones, taking out a book of matches.
§
Living Room
Amara helped Ness and Catty secure the iron chain around Dean/Moriarty, restraining him.
Ness sighed. "We got you, Dean. Dean, we got you."
§
Basement
Sam stroke a match, throwing it onto the skeleton inside the wall, setting it ablaze.
§
Living Room
Amara, Ness and Catty were still restraining Dean/Moriarty with the iron chain.
The Ghost of Moriarty was forced to leave Dean's body, screaming. He looked around. As his bones continued to burn, he himself was set aflame, screaming in agony.
The Ghosts of the children he killed, including his daughter Elizabeth and Lucas, appeared around him.
Amara, Dean, Ness and Catty watched.
Moriarty burned out of existence.
Sam ran into the room, seeing the Ghosts of the children.
Elizabeth was holding a doll. She faded into a brilliant white light. Her soul started to travel its way up to Heaven, moving on. Lucas and the other Ghosts followed suit, fading into brilliant lights, moving on.
Amara, Dean, Ness, Catty and Sam looked at each other in relief, sighing.

Vince's Cabin
Levi, Sabrina, Castiel and Crowley appeared in the cabin.
Rowena was sitting at a table. "If you're looking for Lucifer, you just missed him." She took a drink of tea. Levi, Sabrina and Castiel exchanged a look. Crowley sighed. Rowena looked at them, smiling. "Cup of tea?"
§
Outside
Rowena, Crowley, Sabrina and Castiel walked out of the cabin.
Rowena looked at Crowley. "Until you forced me to get back in the game, I'd tried to forget about Lucifer. I loathe him, and I loathe that I had any part in letting him out of the Pit he belongs in."

The Bunker - Library
Sam, Dean, Catty, Ness and Amara walked in.
Ness looked at Amara. "Well, you gonna take a shower? Take a nap? You really went through it."
Amara shook her head. "No, I'm okay."
Dean took off his jacket. "Amara, um, listen. Apologies if, uh, we hijacked or sidelined you in any way. I mean, this was your case, you know? And... well, you kicked ass." He chuckled. "Again."
"I kicked ass," Amara repeated. "Okay." They smiled small smiles. Mary slowly started to walk in. "I..."
"Yeah, you were right," Sam told her. "You know, those kids were innocent. I mean, hell, we didn't even know what Moriarty's deal was."
"I do," Dean told them. "When he possessed me, I saw... I felt it. All of it. When Hugo lost his child, he went mad. Buried himself alive in his basement and walled himself in and starved to death."
Catty raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Damn."
"But when new families moved in, families with children, he coveted those children," Dean told them. "So, he took them. Killed them." Catty looked down, shaking her head. "And somehow, that bound their Spirits to his. That's where he got his power."
"He was so... greedy," Amara told them. "Twisted."
"Amara, it's okay," Ness told her. "All right? You're home now. Come on. Let's get you washed up."
Amara nodded. They walked out of the room.
Mary was still watching.
Sam, Dean and Catty looked at her in confusion.
"Mom?" Sam asked. "What's wrong?"
Mary sighed. "I miss John. I miss my kids."
Sam walked closer. "We're right here, Mom."
"I know," Mary told them. "In my head. But I'm still mourning them as I knew them." She looked at Catty, smiling a small smile. "Baby Catty. Little boys, Sam and Dean. Just feels like yesterday, we were together in Heaven, and now... I'm here, and John is gone, and they're gone. And every moment I spend with you reminds me every moment I lost with them."
Sam, Dean and Catty were hurt and confused.
"Mom..." Sam trailed off. Mary sighed heavily. "What are you trying to say?"
"I have to go," Mary told them. Sam, Dean and Catty weren't surprised, but they were a little hurt. "I'm sorry. I'm so... so sorry. I just need a little time." Mary turned to wrap her arms around Catty for a moment, pulling away. She turned to Dean. Dean took a step back, looking down. Mary picked up John's Journal from the table. "I love you." She embraced Sam, pulling away, looking at Dean and Catty. "I love you all."
Sam and Catty flinched at the sound of the door opening and closing.
Mary walked out, leaving.
Sam and Catty looked at Dean, sighing.
Dean was gazing off into nothing.
