THEN
From 2.15 "Tall Tales", in the motel room, Sam, Dean and Catty were sitting at a table, looking at Bobby and Ness in front of them.
"So, what is it?" Dean asked. "Spirit, Demon, what?"
From 1.01 "Pilot", in the Welch House, the whole house shook. The Ghosts disintegrated, white and blue light surrounding them, fading out of existence.
From 8.06 "Southern Comfort", outside the hospital, Karl the Deputy glanced in the side rear view mirror of his car to see his reflection change to that of the Unknown Solider.
From 4.13 "After School Special", in Truman High School's bathroom, April grabbed Taylor, slamming her head against the mirror, making it shatter, making her scream and her head bleed. She dragged Taylor into one of the stalls, holding her head under the water in the toilet until Taylor stopped struggling. She let Taylor fall to the floor. Black goo dripped out of her eyes.
From 7.14 "Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie", in the warehouse, Catty shot a clown, making glitter sprinkle everywhere.
From 6.16 "...And Then There Were None", in the warehouse, Sam, Dean, Ness, Bobby, Rufus Turner, and Samuel Campbell surrounded Catty.
Rufus showed them the blue-gray goo on his finger. "Oh, yeah, we're goo positive."
From 6.16 "...And Then There Were None", in the warehouse, the Khan Worm left Samuel's ear, sliding away, hidden.
Catty: (voice over from 6.16 ...And Then There Were None) "What does that mean?"
From 6.16 "...And Then There Were None", in Rick's House, Rick bashed the hammer down into his wife twice, making blood splatter over him.
From 7.11 "Adventures In Babysitting", in the warehouse, Krissy Chambers pulled a knife out of her sleeve, spinning around, stabbing Sally the Vetala in the heart, twisting it, killing her. The body turned gray, her teeth transforming, falling to the floor, dead.
From 4.14 "Sex and Violence", in the motel's hallway, Ness threw the knife toward the Siren, hitting him square in the heart through his back, killing him. The Siren caught himself against the wall, his reflection showing in a mirror, falling to the floor, dead.
From 5.08 "Changing Channels", in the hospital, Dean, Sam and Catty were in doctors outfits.
"Dudes, what the hell?" Catty asked.
"I don't know," Sam told them.
From 1.12 "Faith", in the house's basement, Dean was on the floor, on puddles of water, aiming a taser at a Rawhead, shooting him in the heart, electrocuting him.
From 4.04 "Metamorphosis", in the Montgomery House, Jack Montgomery straddled Travis the hunter to the floor, biting him on the neck, feeding, making him scream in pain.
From 5.08 "Changing Channels", in the hospital, Dean, Sam and Catty were in doctors outfits.
"No, seriously, what the hell?" Catty asked.
From 7.09 "How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters", in the abandoned house, the creature sat bolt upright, standing from the table. Sam, Dean, Catty, Bobby and Ness immediately drew their guns and shot at it repeatedly until it fell back down on the table, seemingly dead.
From 5.08 "Changing Channels", in the hospital, Dean, Sam and Catty were in doctors outfits.
"I don't know," Dean told them.
From 6.19 "Mommy Dearest", in Biggerson's Restaurant, Eve the Mother of All/Mary Winchester bit Catty on the neck.
From 5.08 "Changing Channels", in the hospital, Dean, Sam and Catty were in doctors outfits.
"One theory," Catty told them. "Any theory."
From 10.01 "Black", in the barn, Sam and Dean were tied to chairs. Cole was pacing in front of them.
"Who are you?" Sam asked.
From 10.02 "Reichenbach", outside the bar, Cole aimed a gun at Ness. "My name's Cole Trenton."
From 10.02 "Reichenbach", in the Trenton House, Young Cole ran down the stairs, kneeling next to Edward's body. Edward's throat was cut. Young Cole started to cry.
Cole: (voice over from 10.02 Reichenbach) "Nyack, New York, June 21,2003."
Bobby stepped around the corner, holding a bloody knife. He looked regretful that the boy had to see this and lose his father.
Cole: (voice over from 10.02 Reichenbach) "That was the night your father gutted and a murdered a man by the name of Edward Trenton. He was my father."
From 10.02 "Reichenbach", in the barn, Sam and Dean were tied to chairs.
"I did two tours in Iraq," Cole told them. "Special Ops, Darfur... the Congo."
From 10.07 "Girls, Girls, Girls", in the alley, Cole was aiming a gun at Ness. "Was your father a Demon?"
"No," Ness answered. "He was a hunter. I'm a hunter."
"Hunter?" Cole repeated.
Ness nodded. "Like what you're trying to turn yourself into. We hunt Demons and monsters." She handed her gun to Cole. "Your dad, Cole... your dad was a monster."
"You've got a family, Cole," Sam told him.
From 10.01 "Black", in the Trenton House, Cole, his son and his wife were in the same room.
Sam: (voice over from 10.07 Girls, Girls, Girls) "I'm guessing they need you to come back, and they need you to come back whole."
From 10.14 "Executioner's Song", in the barn, Cain was standing up in the hayloft to stay out of Sabrina's reach. "Why do you think I started killing all of my descendants, Sabrina?" He appeared behind Sabrina. Sabrina turned to face him in time to catch the First Blade before he stabbed her. "Why now? Why did I start only a few short weeks ago?"
Cain tried to punch Sabrina.
Sabrina caught his arm. "I don't know. I don't care."
"Ness," Cain answered.
Sabrina turned around, throwing Cain aside, making him fall to the floor. Cain appeared up on the hayloft again so she wouldn't reach him.
Sabrina looked at him in confusion, shaking her head. "You keep saying Ness is involved in all of this, when she's not. It doesn't have anything to do with her. She's not your descendant. The only thing tat she has from you is the Mark."
Cain chuckled. "It has everything to do with Ness, and it has nothing to do with the Mark. She may not be my descendant, but she is married to one. But it's not just that. No, no, no. She's carrying two."
From 10.14 "Executioner's Song", in the Bunker's library, Sabrina and Ness were sitting across a table from each other. Sabrina and Ness were standing.
Ness turned to face Sabrina, recovering her voice. "You really can't tell if what he said is the truth?"
"There's only one way I can," Sabrina answered.
Ness looked at her in confusion. Sabrina put a hand to Ness' stomach lightly, not doing anything that would hurt her, closing her eyes, both of them gasping softly. In the vision, it was like an ultrasound picture. There were two figures in the womb, a few weeks from being conceived. They were only moving slightly, in small motions. In reality, Sabrina took her hand away from Ness in shock. Ness looked up, wondering what she had seen.
Sabrina could barely speak above a whisper. "Two of them. A boy. And a a girl."
Ness was in shock.

Same Scene - Same Night
Day One
Night - The Bunker - Library
Ness and Dean were in the library. Ness was still incredibly troubled, still in shock from what Sabrina had told her.
Dean stepped closer in concern. "Ness? What's wrong?"
Ness took a deep breath, but she didn't know how to explain. "I, uh... you know, we've been married so long that you'd think I'd have found a way to tell you this by now." Dean looked at little nervous, nodding. "But, honestly, I don't have a clue how to tell you, Dean."
"Tell me what?" Dean asked cautiously. "Ness, if you're gonna say it, just break it."
Ness didn't answer, not knowing how to tell him, looking down. "Sabrina said that before she killed Cain... he said... he said that even though he was killing his descendants, and even if I'm not one of them, he said that it had everything to do with me. Because I'm married to one. And because I'm carrying two." Dean didn't know how to take that, not processing yet. "He said that he felt it, and that was why he started to kill those families."
"How--how didn't we know this before?" Dean asked. "I--I mean, Sabrina, and--and Ava, they would've sensed it. I mean, Sow and Ava--"
"He said that the Mark protects the bearer of the Mark, and everything inside," Ness told him. "He said that they wouldn't have been able to tell. And I'm not just taking the word of a madman here, Dean, I mean, it explains why I killed those guys, right? Because of the extra hormones, and the instinct to protect myself and the ones inside of me even if I didn't know about them. Plus, I had been drinking that night, so very bad."
"But what proof do we have?" Dean asked.
"Sabrina," Ness answered. "She touched me, and she--she had this vision. She could see them. She said... that there's a boy... and that there's a girl."
Dean was in shock, smiling. "Son of a bitch. Oh, my God... Ness..."
"I know," Ness told him. "I can't believe it, either, Dean."
Ness and Dean chuckled in shock, smiling. Dean took her in his arms, lifting Ness slightly off the floor, spinning her around, making her laugh, setting her down, holding her close. Ness returned the embrace, lying her head on his shoulder.

Day Two
Morning - The Bunker - Library
Sam and Catty were researching about the Mark of Cain. Octavia, Castiel and Sabrina stood with them. Sabrina was restless, looking as if she wanted to tell them, but knowing that she should leave that to Dean and Ness.
Ness walked in, looking at the research. "Anything?"
Sam sighed. "No. Nothing remotely useful."
Dean walked in. "Check this out." He handed Ness his tablet with an article about a soldier who had died. "The vic was trained in Krav Maga and jiu-jitsu. Still ended up with her organs drained, and the marrow was sucked completely out of the bones."
"So, cannibalism," Catty told them. "You thinking a Rougarou?"
"Or a God, maybe," Dean answered. "I'll go dig up my pencil-neck suit."
Dean turned to leave.
Ness turned after him. "Wait, wait, wait, wait."
Dean turned to Ness. "I know what you're gonna say, and you're not hunting. Not now."
"I know," Ness told him. "You know, I just wanna do something, you now? Like the FBI thing until I can't anymore."
"What are you talking about?" Castiel asked.
"Sabrina, you didn't tell them, did you?" Dean asked.
Sabrina smiled a small smile, shaking her head. "I knew that you would want to."
"Well, Sow's right about that," Dean told them.
"Sow's right about what?" Sam asked.
"Tell us what?" Octavia asked.
Dean looked at Castiel and Octavia. "You know, the oldest is supposed to do everything first. After Ava died and under influence of spellwork or grief, Sam got married first, and then a baby, even thought they didn't last long. And Catty got the baby first, but at least she made Sow last, unlike Sammy here. Maybe we can make ours last, too."
Catty looked between them in surprise. "What?" Dean held Ness from behind, rubbing a hand gently over her belly. Ness and Sabrina smiled. Octavia, Castiel, Sam and Catty were in shock, processing, smiling. "Son of a bitch. Oh, my God."
"That was exactly Dean's reaction, Catty," Ness told her.
They smiled.
"Congratulations," Octavia told them.
In turn, Sam/Dean, Catty/Ness, Castiel/Dean, Octavia/Ness, Sabrina/Dean, Sam/Ness, Catty/Dean, Castiel/Ness, Octavia/Dean, Sabrina/Ness embraced, pulling away.
Sam chuckled. "I can't believe it."
"Trust me, neither can we," Ness told them.
"Guess this means you're out of a job for a while," Catty told her.
"Out of hunting, yeah," Ness answered. She looked at Dean. "But I can still do the FBI thing before I start to show." Dean didn't answer. Ness was restless and pleading. "Come on, I'm dying of restlessness here. Come on, baby, please."
Dean looked at Sam, Octavia, Castiel, Catty and Sabrina. Sam, Octavia, Castiel, Catty and Sabrina smiled. Octavia and Castiel were amused. Sam shrugged. Catty chuckled. Sabrina giggled.
Dean looked at Ness. "No hunting."
"Done deal," Ness told them.
Sam, Octavia, Castiel, Catty, Sabrina, Dean and Ness looked at each other, smiling small smiles.
§
Fayetville, North Carolina
Police Station
Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness walked in, posing as FBI. A group of police officers were standing around, talking and enjoying pieces of cake.
Sheriff saw them, walking closer. "Agents, I gather."
"Uh, was it the suits, or do we give off some sort of a Fed stench?" Dean asked.
"I--it's the suits," Sheriff answered. "What can I do for you?"
"Well, uh, we are here investigating the death of private Jackie Prescott," Sam told him.
"Shoot," Sheriff told them. "You drove all the way down from DC?"
Catty nodded. "Mm-hmm. Yeah, we did."
"Well, then sorry to waste your time, Agents, but we wrapped that one up," Sheriff told them. "Guy that did it was a special forces officer, Rick Willis."
"What makes you so sure it was him?" Ness asked.
Sheriff pulled out the murder file. "His fingerprints were all over the storage room out on the base where he did it. He even left his dog tags by the body."
"So, is he in custody?" Sam asked.
"No," Sheriff answered. "Bastard drank a boatload of gasoline, then lit himself on fire."
"Well, that's a hell of a way to go," Catty told them.
"No kidding," Sheriff told them. "Left a wife and a baby." Dean looked at Ness. Ness pressed her lips together. "Third suicide we seen in six months. Military town. Would you like some cake?"
"Mm, yes, please," Ness answered.
Sam cut off her access to the cake. "No, uh, y--you know what?" Ness gave Sam a serious look. Dean and Catty were trying not to laugh at the look she was giving him. "Uh, we're okay."
"No, it's really good," Sheriff told them. "My partner made it."
"It looks great, but we're..." Sam trailed off. "No, we're all right."
"Speak for yourself," Ness told him. She looked at Sheriff. "I'll take one. Please."
"Me, too," Dean told him.
Sheriff handed two plates of cake to them.
Sam looked from them to Sheriff. "Uh, we do have one more question. Were there any bite marks found on the body?"
"No," Sheriff answered. "Vic was killed with a Bowie."
"Well, Sheriff, thank you for your time," Catty told him.
Sam nodded. "Yeah."
They turned to leave.
§
Outside
Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty walked outside, toward the Impala. Dean and Ness were eating and enjoying their cake. Sam looked at them.
"Sammy, don't you know to never deprive a pregnant woman from delicious cake?" Catty asked.
"Ah, you're right," Sam told her. "You don't wanna piss any pregnant woman off, but especially Ness, especially right now."
"Hilarious," Ness told them sarcastically.
Catty smiled. Sam and Dean chuckled.
"No bite marks," Sam told them. "That rules out Rougarou. So, what? A God?"
"I don't like the sound of that," Dean told them. "The guy Molotov-cocktailed himself. That's bonkers. That's, like, Demon-possession bonkers."
§
Willis House - Kitchen
Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness were talking to the widow, all of them sitting around the kitchen island counter.
"Rick did it," the widow told them. "I'm not trying to say that he didn't. But... I mean, he just got back from deployment, and we've all seen what it can do to a soldier's mind. My Rick... when he's home, and good... I have to kill the spiders, you know? Rick was a kind soul. He never took more life than he had to."
"Did you, um, notice anything strange, weird, like, uh, violent mood swings?" Sam asked. "Or weird smells?"
"No," the widow answered. "But... Rick was... he was so... he was thirsty."
"Thirsty for what?" Dean asked.
"Water," the widow answered. "He'd spend half the day drinking from the garden house. And then, one night, I caught him in the tub drinking the bathwater. When I told him to stop, it was like he couldn't even hear me. And his skin, it got so dry it bled."
"Did he see a doctor?" Catty asked.
"I took him to the VA, but he just got on a list to get on a list," the widow told them. "And then, he stopped talking... and just wasn't himself. I thought maybe it was PTSD."
"Uh, we're very sorry," Ness told her.
"You said that Rick was recently deployed," Catty told her. "Do you have any idea where?"
"No," the widow answered. "That stuff is classified. They don't even let the wives in on it."
"Right," Sam told her. "Okay, well, we'll, um... we'll leave you alone now, but if something comes up, anything at all, just give us a call."
"There's one other thing," the widow told them. "I ran into my friend, Jemma, at the supermarket. She's married to Kit Verson, a guy from Rick's team. She thinks kit came back different this time. Kind of felt like we were dealing with the same thing."
Ness nodded. "Thank you."
§
Verson House - Living Room
Sam, Dean, Catty, Ness and a woman were talking.
When the woman started to talk about Kit, it was revealed she was Jemma. "Kit's been going through some stuff for sure. Um, you know, it takes him a while to get back to normal, but he always does."
Jemma handed them drinks.
"Thanks," Sam told her.
"And what about you?" Catty asked. "How are you holding up?"
"I'm okay, for the most part," Jemma answered. "You know, what happened to Rick and Beth, it... it's been hard. 'There but for the Grace of God', you know?"
"Uh, may we speak with your husband?" Ness asked.
"He, um... he went out last night, but he should be back any minute," Jemma told them. "You know, Kit, he comes back from these deployments, and he needs his space."
"So, he's been out all night?" Sam asked.
"Well, yeah," Jemma answered. Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness exchanged a look. "God. I can't even convince myself. Uh, I'm worried. This isn't like him."
"Has he been thirsty?" Dean asked. "Like, 'drink out of the dog bowl' thirsty?"
Jemma looked at them in confusion. "How did you know?"
§
Outside
Ness, Catty, Dean and Sam walked outside.
Cole was leaning against the Impala. "Recognized your wheels."
"What the hell are you doing here?" Dean asked.
"Jemma called me in," Cole answered. "I've known Kit since we were military brats raising hell on the same base. He's a good man."
"Well, no one's saying he's not," Ness told him.
"Oh, really now?" Cole asked. "So what are you, uh, here for, Jemma's sweet tea? You want to tell me why you're really here?"
"We're working a case," Catty answered.
"Oh, Kit's case?" Cole asked.
"Honestly, we're not sure just yet, but, um, it's looking like it," Sam answered.
"Mm, says you," Cole told them.
"There's a murder-suicide in town," Ness told him. "Your buddy Kit? Same unit as the killer. Same whacked-out antics. So..."
Ness and Catty walked past Cole toward the Impala.
"Look, we're not going anywhere, all right?" Sam asked. "And if you care about your buddy, you'll let us handle this."
Dean and Sam walked past Cole toward Ness, Catty and the Impala.
Cole nodded. "Mm." He turned to face them. "Nah, I think I'm gonna be coming with you."
"Oh, the hell you are," Dean told him.
"I got contacts," Cole told them. "I can help."
"You really can't," Catty told him.
"For example, a friend of mine works military intelligence," Cole told them. "Owes me a favor."
"Would he know what Rick and Kit's mission was?" Sam asked.
"Sure," Cole answered. "And he'd tell me all about it."
"Okay, fine," Ness told him.
"No, it ain't," Cole told them. "I figure, what's going on here.... I stick to you like flies on roadkill, make sure my buddy comes home in one piece. Look, I know what you guys are thinking, but we are not gonna hunt my best friend, who happens to be a freaking war hero, by the way. We are gonna find him. And that's the difference."
"Hey, man, we're right there with you, okay?" Catty asked. "Kit's a hero, but..."
"But you got to prepare yourself," Dean told him. "Kit might not be Kit anymore."
§
Gas Station
A man staggered inside, grabbing a bottle of water, guzzling part of it, seeing a larger bottle in a cooler at the back of the store, throwing the smaller bottle aside, walking toward the bigger bottle, starting to drink. He looked extremely sick, his skin dry and bleeding. The clerks were unsure of what to do.
Clerk 1 sighed, stepping closer. "Uh, sir? Sir, you have to pay for that first! Hey!" He pushed the bottle out of his hand. "Now, look at what you ma--" The man grabbed a bottle of wine from the nearby shelf, slamming it down onto the rack, shattering it, swinging it toward Clerk 1. "Whoa!"
The man slit Clerk 1's throat with the broken bottle, making him gasp in pain and blood gush out over his skin, clothes and the floor. Clerk 2 started to call for help. The man grabbed Clerk 1's body, throwing him into a glass container, making it shatter,
Clerk 2 was on the phone. "This guy just came in. Get to the store, man." The man knelt to the floor, looking at the blood hungrily. "You got to hurry."
The man started to lick the blood up from the floor, looking up, blood covering his face.
§
Night - Sammy's Highway Cafe - Outside
The vendor handed foot to Sam and Dean at the counter. "Here you go."
Sam and Dean walked toward Ness, Catty and Cole's table with the food.
"Yo, sustenance," Sam told them.
They handed out the food. They already had drinks. While the others were having alcohol, Ness was having water.
"Listen, I got nothing on cattle death, freakish weather, none of it," Catty told them.
"So, probably not a Demon," Ness told them.
"So, maybe it's just not your kind of thing at all," Cole told them.
"Well, when in doubt, eat," Dean told them.
Cole looked at his phone. "Okay, here we go. I got an encrypted email here from my friend at the MI."
"And?" Ness asked.
"Well, Kit and Rick were sent to rescue an American POW," Cole explained. "Being held in Iraq, the Najaf Cemetery."
"Cemetery?" Dean repeated.
"Bastards use them as a, uh, as a poison," Cole told them. "I got some footage here from the camera on Willis' helmet during his last mission with Kit."
They watched the video on the phone. In the video, two soldiers, Kit and Rick busted into the tomb. When it showed Kit, it was revealed he was the one at the gas station.
Rick: (on video) "Okay, go!"
Men were shouting in another language. Kit and Rick shot them down.
Kit: (on video) "Down. Get down."
Rick: (on video) "Clear. Major Jones? Major Matt Jones?"
They walked into another room that held a man.
Rick: (on video) "Hey, right here. Hey, Major Jones, is that you?"
Kit: (on video) "Hey. Hey, I'm Captain Kit Verson. We're here to bring you home, man."
Jones stood, screaming, grabbing Kit, pushing him against the wall, pushing him down. The video pixelated. Jones ran toward Rick, screaming, pushing him down. Dean, Ness, Catty, Sam and Cole watched in confusion.
Kit: (on video) "Oh, what the hell? What the hell was that?"
The video ended with Jones screaming into the camera.
"I'm guessing that didn't have a happy ending," Dean told them.
"No, it did not," Cole answered. "Mission failed. And that POW got shot by guards."
"Really?" Sam asked. "That's what happened?"
"That's the official story," Cole told them.
"All right, so Kit and Rick came back screwed-up," Catty told them. "We know that much."
"Well, and then Rick jumped the high dive," Cole told them. "God, Kit."
Ness' phone started to ring. She looked at the screen.
"What was that?" Catty asked.
"I set my phone to get local alerts," Ness explained.
"Is it bad?" Sam asked.
"It's bloody," Ness answered.
"All right," Dean told them. "Let's get out of here."
§
Gas Station - Parking Lot
Sam, Dean, Ness, Catty and Cole were outside in the parking lot near the Impala and Cole's truck. Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty were finally wearing normal clothes.
"He licked the blood off the floor?" Cole asked.
"Yeah," Dean answered. "The soda jockey back there seemed pretty shook up by it."
"Now, the description he gave, medium build, brown hair, that sound like the Kit you know?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, it does," Cole answered.
Ness nodded. "Great. This still sound like it ain't our kind of thing?"
Cole didn't answer. His phone rang. He answered. "Hey, Jem."
Jemma was in the Verson House, in the living room. "Cole, uh, the news said someone was killed at the gas station on Kenton."
"Yeah, I know," Cole told her. "I'm here right now."
"You are?" Jemma asked. "W--what are they saying?"
"Not much," Cole answered. "Look, Jem. Um, I really can't talk right now. I'm sorry."
"Wait," Jemma told him. "Do they think that he--that--that Kit... did this?"
Cole was feeling guilty for lying. "I don't know."
Jemma sighed, closing her eyes. "If he did, he isn't in his right mind, and you know that, Cole. You got to save him."
Cole sighed, nodding. "I will."
Jemma nodded. "I know. And, uh... and that's the only thing keeping me sane right now. I was thinking, you know, sometimes, when Kit wanted to be alone, he would head up north to his dad's old cabin." She looked at a picture of Kit holding a shotgun on the nearby table. "Maybe you could go check it out, and--and--and I'll stay here in case he comes home."
Cole glanced toward Sam, Ness, Catty and Dean nearby at the Impala. "Right."
"Hey, kung-fu grip, you coming?" Catty asked.
Cole spoke into his phone. "Hey, Jem, I got to go."
Cole hung up, walking toward his truck.
"So, what's next?" Catty asked.
"We hit every cop shop within a ten-mile radius, put the word out, see if we can't track him down," Ness answered.
"And if you find him, what then?" Cole asked. "Kit needs help. He doesn't need a bullet, and he doesn't need a knife."
"Okay," Sam told him. "You know what, Cole? We know you want to protect your buddy, but..."
"If he's a monster, we got to put him down," Dean told him.
"That's the way it's gonna have to be, huh?" Cole asked.
"That's the job," Dean told him. "So, you in, or out? It's better this way, all right? We'll keep you posted."
Cole nodded. "Yeah."
"Hey, Cole, you should go to Jemma, keep her calm," Ness told him. "He shows up, don't try and be a hero. Call us."
"You got it," Cole told them, getting into his truck, driving away, leaving.
Sam, Ness, Catty and Dean exchanged a look, getting into the Impala.
§
On the Road
Cole's truck drove toward Jemma's house, but it drove past, continuing to drive. The Impala was following secretly.
§
The Impala
Dean was driving. Sam was in the passenger seat. Ness and Catty were in the backseat.
Catty looked at Ness, knowing that Cole knew exactly where Kit was. "And you bought him dinner."
Ness managed a small smile. Dean continued to follow Cole discreetly.
§
Kit's Cabin - Outside
Cole's truck pulled up. Cole got out of the truck, walking inside to look for Kit. The Impala pulled up.
§
The Impala
Dean was driving. Sam was in the passenger seat. Ness and Catty were in the backseat. Sam, Catty and Dean quietly gathered their gear.
Dean looked at Ness. "Stay here."
Ness gave him a cute little salute. "Yes, sir."
Catty smiled. Sam and Dean smirked.
§
Kit's Cabin
Cole pulled out a flashlight, searching around the cabin, following a trail of torn apart rodents. "Kit? Hey, Kit? Are you here? It's Cole. There's some real serious people looking for you, Kit. And the won't just want to talk. It's bad, Kit. And it's either me... or them." He saw Kit sitting in the corner, with his back to the room. "Hey, Kit. Hey. Hey, Kit."
"I'm sorry," Kit told him. "I can't stop."
Kit stood, screaming, running toward Cole, pushing him down. A small, snake-like creature slid out of Kit's mouth, going into Cole's, forcing its way down his throat, making him scream. Dean grabbed Kit, throwing him away. Another worm escaped from Kit's body, to the floor. It screeched, skittering away. Catty stomped on the worm, killing it. Kit elbowed Sam in the face hard enough to make him fall back into the wall, pushing Dean off of him, running toward the door.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Catty told him.
Kit threw Catty into a couch, making her fall to the floor, running out, leaving.
Cole coughed, gagging. "Oh, God."
§
Outside
Kit ran out of the house. Ness got out of the Impala, aiming her gun toward him. Kit ran away too fast to be hit by a shot. Ness sighed, lowering her gun.
§
Inside
Ness had joined the others. "He got away. Guy's too fast for a bullet."
Cole sat down in a chair. "Oh, God. Ew. Something went down my... throat."
"All right, Cole, just try and stay calm," Sam told him.
"Oh, God," Cole told them.
"Cole?" Ness asked.
"Something moved," Cole told them. "It's alive."
"All right, well, we're gonna get it out of you, okay?" Sam asked.
"How?" Cole asked.
"We'll figure it out," Sam told him. "We..."
"Man, that was a dumbass move, coming here alone," Dean told him. "You know that, right?"
"Oh, I'm sorry," Cole told them sarcastically. "I should have let the machete team cut my buddy's head off."
"Well, if you did, maybe you wouldn't be choking down a damn Khan Worm right now," Catty told him.
"What's a Khan Worm?" Cole asked.
"You think that's what it is?" Ness asked.
"Or some sort of freak cousin," Catty answered.
"Freak cousin of what?" Cole asked.
"A couple years back, Sam, Dean, Catty and I worked a case," Ness told him. "We got stuck in a cannery with this worm. It would get into people's bodies, and..."
"It was freaking awful," Sam told him.
"All right, so you've been to this rodeo before," Cole told them. "How do we kill it?"
"Worst case, headshot the person it's in," Dean answered. "Worm crawls out, we stomp it like a bug."
"Is there a version where you don't cap me?" Cole asked.
"Yeah," Sam answered. "Uh, last time, electrocution made the worm leave the body."
"All right, fine," Cole told them. "Electrocution it is. I'm game."
"All right," Catty told them. "You guys get to work. I'll go look for Kit."
"I'll go with you," Sam told her.
Catty nodded, looking at Dean and Ness. "You got this?"
"Yeah," Ness answered.
"Hey, guys?" Cole asked.
"Yeah?" Dean asked.
"If we can fix me, we can save Kit, right?" Cole asked.
"That's the idea," Sam told them.
Cole nodded. "Mm."
Sam and Catty walked out, leaving.
Ness looked at Cole. "You know that this is gonna hurt like a son of a bitch?"
"Hell, I have a a wife, a kid, and an upsidedown mortgage to get back to," Cole told her. "Whatever it takes, Nessie."
"Okay," Dean told him.
Dean and Ness looked at each other, nodding.

Later
Cole and Dean put two car batteries on the table. Ness was holding jumper cables.
"So, last time you saw this thing, it turned people into killers, too?" Cole asked.
"Yeah," Ness answered. "Except that one did a mind control number on us."
Ness started putting jumper cables on the car batteries.
"Damn," Cole told them. "Day in, day out, you two, Sam and Catty, and that niece of yours, Sabrina, saving people from things they just can't wrap their minds around... Hell, and nobody even notices it. Hell, at least I get a medal for my efforts. But you? I tried to kill all of you, and you guys seem like a lot of things try to kill you all the time."
"Yeah, well, good times," Ness told him.
"I almost took you guys off the map," Cole told them. "Who would be saving me now?"
Dean looked up. "Yeah, well, let's not get too sentimental about it. You couldn't have been able to kill Sabrina, anyway. Little niece Sow is unkillable, as far as we know. All right, let's fire this puppy up."
"Well, you say that like it's just another Monday," Cole told them.
"Oh, buddy, it's only Monday," Dean told him, snapping the jumper cables together so they sparked.
Cole put the spoon in his mouth, leaning back in the ragged recliner, nodding to Dean. Dean looked at Ness. Ness nodded. Dean took a deep breath, pressing the jumper cable clamps onto Cole's forearms, electrocuting him, but not enough to kill him, making him groan in pain, pulling them away after a moment, looking him over.
"Anything?" Cole asked.
"Last time, it came out of our ears," Ness told him.
"And?" Cole asked.
"I'm not seeing anything yet," Ness answered.
"Do it again," Cole told them.
Dean put the clamps to his arm, electrocuting him only for half a moment, pulling them away. "All right, that sucker should have crawled out by now."
"Again," Cole told him.
"I keep going, this is gonna kill you," Dean told him.
"Again!" Cole told him.
Dean hesitantly put the clamps to his arms, electrocuting him. Ness had to look away, sighing. Cole's eyes rolled back, his jaw slackening around the spoon. Dean immediately stopped, taking Cole's pulse.
Ness pushed against his chest to get his heart beating again. "Cole. Hey, hey. Cole! Come on. Come on. Cole!" Cole came to. "Hey."
"Hey, hey, okay," Cole told them. "Hey, all right. Again."
"No," Dean told him. "No, we're done playing 'Operation'. I zap you again, you're toast. Just take a knee. Ness." They stepped aside to talk. "This doesn't make any sense. Last time..."
"Well, this ain't the last time, Dean," Ness told him. "I mean, maybe this is a whole new species, you know? All we know it that sparky struck out."
"Well, there's got to be something," Dean told her. "I mean, everything has a weakness, right?"
Ness sighed, looking at Cole. "You okay?"
"So, this is what in over your head looks like," Cole told them.
"Just got to keep your head in the game," Ness told him. "Okay, what do we know about this thing?"
"Uh, sucker dries you out," Cole answered. "I'm thirsty already."
"It likes water," Ness told them. "Then when that's not enough..."
"Blood," Cole finished. "Maybe lack of fluids makes the thing hostile."
"So, it's like a parasite," Ness told them. "It wrings you dry, and then it moves on. So, if you dry yourself out, the son of a bitch wouldn't like that very much, now, would he?"
"No," Dean answered. "He'd want the hell out. You'd be a hostile environment... well, more than you already are."
"Well, to be fair, you really haven't seen my chiller side," Cole told them.
"What do you think about rapid dehydration?" Ness asked.
Cole shrugged. "Big fan. Just make sure you squash that sucker when it goes AWOL."
"Sounds like a plan," Ness told them, walking toward the fireplace, kneeling next to the bucket of firewood. "All right. Nothing like a sweat lodge in the woods, huh?"
Ness put firewood in the fireplace, lighting a match, tossing it inside.

Verson House - Foyer
There were flowers and flower petals all over the floor. Jemma followed the trail.
§
Living Room
The trail led into the living room.
Jemma followed the trail, finding Kit drinking the water from the flower vase. "Kit? Honey? Look at me. What's happened to you? Listen. Whatever happened, whatever you... you did... we're gonna fix this, okay? We're gonna get you well. Baby." Kit ran toward Jemma, pushing her against a chair, hovering over her. Jemma screamed. "Kit! Kit, stop! Please!"
"I can't... stop," Kit told her, leaning loser.
A Khan Worm started inching its way out of Kit's mouth toward Jemma. The flower vase smashed over Kit's head, knocking him unconscious.
Catty dropped the remains of the flower vase to the floor, brushing off the glass shards. She looked at Jemma. "Are you okay?"
§
Kit's Cabin
It was really hot in the cabin now, smoke coming all over the room from the blazing fireplace.
Dean looked at Ness, worried about her being around the smoke. "Maybe you should go outside, call Sam."
Ness nodded, breathing heavily.
§
Outside
Ness was outside in the cool air, breathing easier now, on the phone.
Sam's voice was on the other line. "You're in a... sweat lodge?"
"Well, everything has a weakness," Ness told him. "So, I take a schvitz, kill a freak. Call that a good day."
Sam was standing outside of the Verson House. "Yeah, if it works."
"Well, you got a better idea?" Ness asked.
"Yeah, I do, actually, Ness," Sam told her. "We know how to end this."
"Yeah, Plan B for 'bullet'," Ness told him. "But we're not quite there yet, so just get the house as hot as you can, dry him out, wait for the thing to show, and hold tight."
"All right," Sam told her.
"How's the wife?" Ness asked.
"She's barely holding on," Sam answered. "How's Cole?"
"He's going strong," Ness answered.
Sam nodded. "Good."
They hung up.
§
Inside
Cole was sitting by the fireplace.
Dean grabbed a water bottle from the green cooler. "Just keep sweating, man. You're doing great." He opened the water bottle, taking a drink. Cole looked at the water with open hunger. "Sorry."
§
Verson House - Living Room
Kit was tied up to the counter to the adjoined kitchen. Catty and Jemma were sitting on the couch.
"I don't understand," Jemma told her.
"On Kit's last mission, on his deployment with Rick, there was an incident, and something got inside Kit," Catty explained. "I mean, h--have you seen anything?"
Jemma nodded. "I mean, y... I saw something, okay? But it... it was..."
"It was a monster," Catty told her. "It was a real-life, actual, honest-to-God monster. And your husband... it changed him."
Sam walked in.
"What?" Jemma asked. "Who are you?"
Sam and Catty didn't answer, looking at her sympathetically.
§
Kit's Cabin
It was only getting hotter, making both Dean and Cole sweat. Ness walked in.
"Why aren't you outside?" Dean asked.
"I need water," Ness answered.
Dean nodded, getting into the green cooler, pulling out another water bottle, handing it to Ness. Ness took it.
Cole looked at Ness curiously. "My dad... he got something inside him, too, right? You think this is what he felt like when he turned?"
"Maybe," Ness answered. "I mean, he was Human, before he was... a monster."
"I get it," Cole told her. "I get why your dad did it, Ness. My dad wasn't my dad anymore. If I go down that same road... I want you two to do that to me, too."
"That road?" Ness asked. "That means giving up. If you think that's where you're headed, then you've got it ass-backwards. You're gonna fight harder than you ever have. You understand?"
Cole nodded barely. Ness took a drink of water.
Cole watched, something in his expression changing. He stood, walking toward a chair. "Dean-O, will you do me the honor of tying me to this chair?"
Dean looked at his water. "Yeah."
Dean set his water bottle down on the table to go get some rope, starting to tie Cole to the chair. Cole punched Dean in the face, making him fall to the floor, lunging for the water on the table, drinking it greedily and messily. Dean pulled the water bottle away, tackling him to the floor. Cole flipped him to the floor, snarling.
Ness aimed her gun at him. "Cole, don't do it."
"Come on," Cole told her. "We both know you're not gonna do it."
"You are gonna sweat this one through," Ness told him.
"I can't, Ness!" Cole told her, breathing heavily.
"Yes, you can," Ness told him. "Listen to me. Yes, you can. Think about your family. Hmm? Your wife, your kid. You hear me? I get it, Cole. But if you do this, you're not just ruining your family. You're ruining mine, too. I'm pregnant, Cole." Cole looked at Ness in confused surprise. "And if you kill Dean, our babies won't have a father, and then you won't stop, and then I'll have to kill you, and you won't be able to go home to your family, either."
Cole slowly retreated, backing away from Dean. He looked at Ness, calmer now. "I appreciate the talk, Coach. Good at motivational speaking, aren't you, Nessie?"
Ness shook her head. "You have no idea."

Verson House - Living Room
Kit was still tied up. Sam, Catty and Jemma were still talking. Catty was fixing the blazing in the fire place. It was very hot.
"So, you're hunters?" Jemma asked.
"Yes," Sam answered.
"And..." Jemma trailed off. "I'm sorry. This is gonna take me a minute. It's, uh..."
"It's crazy, right?" Sam asked. "It sounds crazy? I know. But it's the truth."
"I don't care if he's what you say he is, okay?" Jemma asked. "He's my husband."
Kit was starting to wake.
"Jemma, he tried to kill you," Catty told her. "Was that your husband when you looked into his eyes? Was that the Kit you know?" Jemma slowly shook her head. "Look... we are working on. This will work. I promise you, okay?"
"All right," Jemma told them. She noticed Kit had gotten free and disappeared. "Sam. Catty."
The lights in the house went out. Sam put his finger to his mouth to tell them to be quiet. Sam and Catty separated, looking for Kit, guns drawn. Kit snuck up behind Jemma. Jemma screamed. Kit pushed Jemma aside, hitting the gun out of Sam's hands, making it fire, tackling him to the floor, straddling him, strangling him.
Catty grabbed Kit from behind, pushing him back toward the fire, aiming her gun at him. "Sit down! Stay down!"
They heard ringing phones.
§
Kit's Cabin
Ness was pacing, trying to call Sam, but she didn't get an answer. "Come on, Sam." She hung up, trying to call Catty, but she didn't get an answer. Cole sat by the fireplace and Dean, coughing. "Catty, pick up." Ness hung up, putting her phone away. Cole couldn't resist any longer, tackling Dean to the floor, straddling him, strangling him. Ness stood behind Cole, aiming her gun at his head. "Don't make me pull this trigger."
"I already did," Cole told her.
Ness shook her head, grabbing Cole from behind, turning around, pushing him to the floor in front of the fireplace. Cole started to cough and gag. The Khan Worm slid up his throat, toward his mouth.
Dean sat up. "Holy..." The Khan Worm slid out of Cole's mouth to the floor. Ness pulled Cole away from it, stomping on it to kill it. Cole gasped for breath, coughing. Ness knelt next to him. Dean slid closer. "You okay?"
Cole nodded in pain, trying to catch his breath. "Yeah."

Verson House - Living Room
Catty held Kit's head toward the fireplace, but kept him out of the fire. Kit started to cough and gag. The Khan Worm slid up his throat, toward his mouth. Catty backed away. Sam walked closer. The Khan Worm slid out of Kit's mouth to the floor. Catty pulled Kit away from it. Sam stomped on the Khan Worm to kill it. Kit gasped for breath, coughing.
Jemma knelt next to him. "Are you okay?" Kit nodded in pain. Jemma held him close, crying in joy and relief. "Oh, thank God." Kit tried to catch his breath. "Thank God."
Sam and Catty looked at each other in relief.

Kit's Cabin - Outside
Sam, Catty, Dean, Ness, and Cole were outside, walking toward the Impala and Cole's truck.
"I guess I've seen it all now," Cole told them.
"Some," Catty told him. "Not all."
"I just want to go home," Cole told them. "See my family." He looked at Sam and Catty. "I want to thank you two, for saving Kit's life." He looked at Dean and Ness. "And you two for keeping me standing."
"Well, all it took was a little blood, sweat, and, uh, more sweat," Dean told him.
"You take care of of yourself," Ness told him. "You hear?"
"All right, I will," Cole told them. He looked at Dean and Ness. "And even while I'm happy for you two about the whole baby news, I still hope I don't see any of you anymore. No offense."
"None taken," Sam told him.
Cole got in his truck, driving away, leaving. Sam, Catty, Dean and Ness watched him go.
"You think he's gonna be okay?" Ness asked.
"Of course," Catty answered.
"Let's hit the road," Sam told them.
Dean nodded in agreement. "Hell, yeah."
Sam, Catty, Dean and Ness looked at each other, smiling small smiles, walking toward the Impala, getting inside.
The Impala drove away into the night.
