THEN

From 5.08 "Changing Channels", in the comedy sit com's motel room, Gabriel/The Trickster looked at Sam, Dean and Catty. "Dean's got to let his little siblings grow up to who they are supposed to become. Sam, starring as Lucifer. Catty, starring as Michael." He grabbed Dean by the collar, turning around, pushing him into the wall. Sam and Catty stepped toward them to stop him. 'Ness' grabbed Sam and Catty, easily keeping them back. Gabriel looked at Sam and Catty. "You're gonna suck it up, accept your responsibilities, and play the roles that destiny has chosen for you." He looked at Dean. "And you're gonna stop keeping them on that tight leash of yours so that they can."

From 2.15 "Tall Tales", in the auditorium, the blonde and brunette girls were restraining Ness. Ness elbowed the blonde girl in the stomach. The brunette tried to punch Ness. Ness ducked to the floor, making her punch the blonde instead, making them both let go. Ness leg swept their legs out from underneath them, making them fall, at the same time, leg sweeping the stake across the floor toward Catty. Catty caught the stake, standing instantly, turning to Gabriel, staking him in the heart.

Catty: (voice over from 5.08 Changing Channels) "Why didn't the stake kill you?"

From 5.08 "Changing Channels", in the woods, Gabriel looked at Sam, Dean and Catty. "I am the Trickster."

"Or maybe not," Catty told him, holding up a lit lighter, tossing it down. A ring of Holy Fire was set ablaze around Gabriel. "Maybe you've always been an Angel."

From 5.08 "Changing Channels", in the warehouse, Gabriel was still trapped. Octavia and Castiel joined them.

Octavia stood outside the ring of Holy Fire, turning to face Gabriel. "Hello, Gabriel."

"The Archangel?" Sam asked. He looked at Octavia skeptically. "This is your Angel, Ava?"

Octavia looked at Gabriel, but spoke to Sam. "He wasn't always this, Sam." She spoke to Gabriel. "I thought you were dead."

Gabriel shrugged. "Obviously, I'm not."

Sam, Dean, Catty and Castiel walked out, leaving.

Octavia raised a hand toward the Holy Fire, using magic to put out the flames. "This isn't about the Apocalypse, or the prize fight between our brothers or some destiny that can't be stopped. This is about you being too afraid to stand up to the family. I was afraid for a long time. Now I'm not."

Octavia leaned closer to kiss Gabriel goodbye.

From 5.17 "99 Problems", in the Singer House, Bobby gave Catty a skeptical look. "Are you gonna do something stupid?"

"Like what?" Catty asked.

"Like Michael stupid," Bobby answered.

"Come on, Bobby," Catty told him.

From 5.17 "99 Problems", in Brett's Loft, Brett and Catty stood in front of the window wall that allowed the view of the entire city.

"Things are about to get really bad," Catty told him. "The people that I'm gonna see next, they're not gonna get anything from me without agreeing to a few conditions."

"Whatever you're thinking of doing, don't do it," Brett told her.

"I have to," Catty told him.

From 5.18 "Point of No Return", in the Angelic Green Room, Zachariah looked at Catty. "You're finally ready, right?" Catty looked from Zachariah to Dean, Sam and Adam as they continued to cough up blood. Zachariah walked closer to Catty. "You know there's no other choice. There's never been a choice."

Catty looked at him desperately. "I'm tired, Zachariah. I'm done. Okay? You did it. Your plan worked. Just make it stop already. Please." Zachariah started to smirk. "The answer's yes."

"Catty!" Sam told her.

"Cat!" Dean told her.

Zachariah turned away, speaking in Enochian, summoning Michael. "Zodireda noco aberamage nazodpesade."

Catty looked toward Dean and Sam. Dean and Sam looked at Catty in devastated, horrified confusion.

Catty winked at them, smirking. She looked at Zachariah, acting completely normal. "Of course, I have a few conditions."

Catty had her own Angel Blade, trying to stab Zachariah in the chin through his mouth and into his head.

Zachariah caught her arms, pulling Catty closer threateningly, angrily. "Did you really think that would work?"

"No, actually," Catty answered.

Zachariah looked at Catty in confusion. Catty ripped her arms out of Zachariah's grasp, grabbing his shoulders to restrain him. Ness arrived, standing behind Zachariah, driving Octavia's Angel Sword through the back of Zachariah's head, making the blade come in through his mouth, killing him with a flash of bright white light. Ness took the sword out. Catty let him fall to the floor, against the wall.

From 5.18 "Point of No Return", in the warehouse, Catty, Castiel, Ness, Sam and Dean stood together.

Sam sighed. "All of this, Catty saying 'yes', it was a distraction for Ness to come in and kill Zachariah?"

"Yeah," Ness answered.

Dean chuckled in slight surprise, looking from Catty to Ness. "Why didn't you guys tell us?"

"Because your reactions had to be real," Ness answered.

From 5.01 "Sympathy for the Devil", in John's Lockup, Sam held his broken legs in pain. Dean tried to take a breath, having no lungs. Catty was vomiting blood, having stomach cancer.

Ness: (voice over from 5.18 Point of No Return) "Now all the Angels and the devil have done is just piss us off."

From 5.15 "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid", in the Singer Salvage Yard, The Zombie was still pulling Ness away from the shotgun. Ness rolled to face him, kicking him with her other lg, making him let go and fall back. She grabbed the shotgun, turning toward the Zombie, shooting him in the head, killing him.

Ness: (voice over from 5.18 Point of No Return) "Tried to have us all killed."

From 5.18 "Point of No Return", in the woods, Castiel and Octavia were fighting the Angels that had attacked and nearly killed Octavia. Castiel killed one while Octavia killed the other.

Ness: (voice over from 5.18 Point of No Return) "And make us loose a lot of people that we love."

From 5.10 "Abandon All Hope...", outside, across the street, Catty, Sam, Dean and Ness couldn't help but stop, looking back into the flames to watch it blow, knowing that Ellen and Jo were gone, breathing heavily, mourning their loss silently, numbly.

Ness: (voice over from 5.18 Point of No Return) "Ellen. Jo."

From 5.15 "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid", in the Singer House, Bobby's room, Dean walked in to see Karen dead with Bobby and Ness by her side. He looked at them expressionlessly, sympathetic. Ness stood, looking at the gun in her hand, having been the one to kill her mother, tears in her eyes. She could barely meet Dean's gaze.

Ness: (voice over from 5.18 Point of No Return) "My mom."

From 5.18 "Point of No Return", in the warehouse, the Angels ran closer to Castiel and Octavia. Instead of stabbing the blade into the Sigil on Octavia's back, Castiel cut his hand, slamming the blood over the Sigil. Light vibrated out of Octavia's body, making the rest of them disappear with a violent flash of bright white from within her, all except Castiel.

Ness: (voice over from 5.18 Point of No Return) "They may have made us loose Ava, if she didn't survive the blast."

From 5.18 "Point of No Return", in the Angelic Green Room, the blindingly bright white light grew even brighter. Adam turned around in confusion. Outside, Catty could see that the light was fading, opening the door to see an abandoned office. She turned to face Castiel, Ness, Sam and Dean, panicking. Castiel closed his eyes, lowering his head. Ness looked worried. Sam and Dean looked in denial. Catty looked into the abandoned office, feeling guilty despair.

Ness: (voice over from 5.18 Point of No Return) "This was supposed to save Adam, too."

From 5.18 "Point of No Return", in the warehouse, Ness looked at Catty, Castiel, Sam and Dean. "Well, now I'm vengeful, and I still wanna try to save the world. How about you guys? It's not revenge. It's retribution, and it's saving all of these people's lives that they are willing to let die in some stupid prize fight." Catty, Castiel, Sam and Dean were in silent agreement. "So screw destiny, right in the face. I say we take the fight to them, and do it our way."

NOW

§

Muncie, Indiana

Day One

Night - Elysian Fields Hotel - Outside

A car pulled into the parking lot.

§

Inside - Lobby

The place was run down. A security guard walked up to the hotel lobby from outside, by the light of the car's headlights. He unlocked the lobby doors, walking, using a flashlight. The hotel itself was dark. There were sheets and drapes covering most of the furniture, as if the building had not been in use for some time. There were sounds of clanging.

The security guard startled. "Hello?" He walked by a withered potted plant. The potted plant returned to life. "Hello?"

There was a loud bang. The security guard startled, turning around. A shattered mirror slowly returned to its original, unbroken form. The security guard looked on in shock. There was a metallic clang. The security guard gasped, turning around.

A thin man in a red tuxedo was standing behind him and a black bow tie. "Hiya."

"Buddy, you can't be here," the security guard told him.

"'Course I can," the man told him. "Someone's got to get everything ready. They're coming. All of them. And we've each got our part to play. Even you."

"What?" the security guard asked.

"You're dinner," the man told him, grabbing him.

There was a crunch. Blood splattered onto the nearby, newly reformed mirror. The security guard screamed.

Day Two - Unknown Amount of Time Later

Night - Elysian Field Hotel - Lobby

The formerly run down and abandoned hotel had turned into a fancy, five star hotel. A bell dinged. Thunder crashed from outside.

§

Outside

The Impala parked in front of the hotel at an angle.

§

Inside

(Song:) Women's Wear - Daniel May (MasterSource)

Sam, Dean and Catty walked in, soaked and gasping.

Catty sighed, looking around. "Whew. Nice digs, for once."

§

Front Desk

The man that had killed the security guard was standing at the front desk, typing. His name tag said Chet. Sam, Dean and Catty were standing across from Chet.

"Busy night," Catty told him.

Chet chuckled. "Any port in a storm, I guess." He chuckled. "If you could just fill this out, please."

"Yeah," Dean agreed, filling out the paper.

Chet gestured to a spot of blood on his face. "Sir, I think... Shaving nick there." He handed Dean a tissue. Dean dabbed the tiny cut. Chet held a key chain toward them. "Your key."

Catty took the key. "Oh, thanks. Hey, you wouldn't happen to have a coffee shop, would you?"

"Buffet," Chet answered. "All you can eat. Best pie in the Tri-State area."

Dean smiled. "You don't say."

(Song Ends)

§

Buffet Hall

(Song:) You Know You Know (I Love You) - The Bachelors

Dean was sampling pies, trying to decide which ones to get.

A man in a suit and glasses stood next to Dean. "Heaven, right?"

Dean scoffed. "Trust me, pal. Better."

Dean grabbed a piece of chocolate off the tip of a pie, walking.

§

Table

Sam and Catty were sitting at the table. Catty was eating a burger and ice cream for dessert. Sam wasn't eating.

Dean sat next to them. "Sam, unpucker, man. Eat something."

"Catty, Dean, we should hit the road," Sam told them.

"In this storm?" Catty asked. "I--it's--"

"It's Biblical," Sam finished. "Exactly. It's freaking Noah's ark out there, and we're eating pie."

Dean looked at Sam. "How many hours of sleep did you get this week? What? Three? Four?" He looked at Catty. "Even if you've been sleeping a lot more since you and Ness killed Zachariah, you still have about eight months to catch up on." Catty nodded barely. "Bobby and Ness got their feelers out, okay? We have talked with every hoodoo man and root woman in 12 states."

"Yeah, well, I'm not giving up," Catty told them.

"Nobody's giving up," Dean told them. "Especially me. We're gonna find a way to beat the Devil, okay? Soon. I can feel it. Cas is looking for Ava, and we'll find Adam. But you two are no good to me burnt out."

"Yeah," Catty agreed. "Yeah, okay." She sighed, tilting her head back. "God, sleep has never felt so good!"

Sam smiled a small smile.

Dean smirked. "So no more nightmares?"

"Remnants, but not Angel-induced," Catty answered. "But that's kinda expected after eight months of this crap." Sam and Dean nodded in agreement. "But I'm better than I have been in forever. Okay? So, come on. We've actually got the night off for once. Let's try to enjoy it."

(Song Ends)

§

Kitchen

A waitress carried a tray of dirty glasses inside. A severed arm was on the counter top next to a bloody cleaver.

§

Hallway

Sam, Dean and Catty were on the way to their joined room, seeing a couple was making out in front of theirs. Dean pointed at them, smiling.

"Oh, what are you, 12?" Sam asked.

Dean scoffed. "I'm young at heart."

§

Hotel Room

Dean, Catty and Sam walked into their own room that was as amazing as the rest of the hotel.

Catty whistled. "Wow. Look at this. We're like Rockefellers." Sam closed the door, both him and Dean putting their bags down. Catty found a piece of chocolate on each of Sam and Dean's beds, picking one up. "Chocolates." She looked at Sam and Dean. "You guys want yours?"

"Knock yourself out, Cat," Sam told her. "Literally."

Catty smiled, grabbing the other chocolate on the other bed, walking toward the French doors to the other side of the room, opening them.

§

Catty's Side

Catty whistled at the sight of it, looking back at Sam and Dean, smiling, walking toward the bed, grabbing the chocolate, putting them on the bedside table, falling onto the bed, planning to go to sleep in the clothes she was wearing. "See you guys in the morning!"

Sam and Dean smiled small smiles. Catty relaxed back into the bed, seeming thoughtful, closing her eyes.

§

Boys' Side

Dean was checking out the TV in their side of the room. "Whoa. 'Casa Erotica 13' on demand." Sam looked into Catty's side to see that she seemed to be already asleep. He scoffed. "What?"

"Isn't this place... in the middle of nowhere?" Sam asked.

"So?" Dean asked.

"So, what's a four-star hotel doing on a no-star highway?" Sam asked.

They could hear the woman from out in the hall moaning pleasurably on the other side of the wall. They could hear a bed thumping. They chuckled. They heard a loud thud which accompanied the brick wall of the room being smashed in from the other side, almost knocking the LCD flat screen television off the wall. Dean and Sam exchanged a look, knowing nothing Human could have done that, walking out of the room.

§

Next Room Over

Sam and Dean walked into the room to find it empty.

"Hello?" Dean called.

Sam looked around in confusion. "Hello?"

They split up to check around the empty honeymoon suite. Dean noticed something on the carpet next to the bed, kneeling next to it, picking up the engagement ring.

§

Lobby

Sam and Dean were talking to Chet.

"The, uh, the room next to ours... the--the couple that are, uh, joined at the lips, have you seen them?" Dean asked.

"Mr. and Mrs. Logan, the honeymooners?" Chet asked. Dean nodded. "They checked out. Is something the matter?"

"They checked out?" Sam repeated.

Chet nodded. "Mm-hmm. Mm, just now."

"Really?" Sam asked. "It sort of seemed like they were, uh..." He chuckled. "In the middle of something."

"Yeah, it's kind of weird for honeymooners to, uh, check out without this," Dean told them, holding up the engagement ring.

"Oh, dear," Chet told them, taking the ring. "I'll just put that right in the lost and found. Don't you worry. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"Uh, no," Dean answered. "No, we're good."

"Super-fantastic," Chet told them, walking away, leaving.

Sam looked at Dean. "Creepy."

"Broke the needle," Dean agreed. "All right, I'll scope out the joint, and you keep an eye on Norman Bates over here. What about Catty?"

"Let her catch up on some must-needed sleep before sleep deprivation gets her killed," Sam told him. "Cat is not in the shape to be hunting right now with how exhausted she is."

Dean nodded in agreement.

§

Hallway

Chet walked down the hall. Sam slowly walked into the hall, keeping his distance, watching him walk around the corner of the hall at the other side. He followed him around the corner, but didn't see him anywhere. There was a slicing sound. Sam reached to the bleeding, tiny cut, looking at the blood on his fingers.

§

Hallway 2

Dean walked out of the elevator, pulling out an EMF detector. He walked by a room with its door open. An elephant was inside the room, using his trunk to hold a towel. Dean took a few steps forward, processing what he had seen from the corner of his eye, confused, backing in front of the room.

Instead of an elephant, a man was wrapping a towel around his waist. He saw Dean. "This ain't no peep show, man!"

The man walked toward the door, slamming it in Dean's face. Dean looked forward, trying to figure out what just happened.

§

Hotel Room - Catty's Side

Catty was sleeping fitfully. There was a slicing sound.

Catty woke up, sitting up barely, holding her neck in confusion, pulling her hand away, looking at the blood on her fingers. "What the hell?" She sighed, realizing that something must have been going on, annoyed. "I mean, one night of sleep. Is that too much to ask?"

Catty stood, walking out of the room.

§

Hotel Room

A man was putting a necklace around a woman's neck from behind. "You're beautiful."

The woman let her hair go. "You're sweet." The man kissed her neck. "I hate sweet."

Chet walked in, no longer wearing his name tag, clearing his throat. "Sorry to interrupt. The last guest just arrived."

"So everything's ready?" the man asked.

"As it will ever be," Chet answered. "Pantry's full."

"And the Winchesters?" the man asked.

"Suspicious, but under control," Chet answered.

"You have their blood?" the woman asked.

"Of course I do," Chet answered, rushing with inhuman speed to stand in front of the woman, holding up three vials of blood. "I'm quick." The woman smirked, taking the vials. "They never even knew what hit them."

"Thank you, Mercury," the woman told him.

Chet (revealed to really be Mercury) smirked.

"Okay," the man told them. "Let's get this show on the road."

The woman looked at the three vials of blood in her hand.

§

Lobby

Sam, Dean and Catty were walking together.

Catty looked at Dean. "An elephant?"

"Yeah," Dean answered.

"Like, an elephant?" Sam asked.

"Like, full-on Babar," Dean told them.

"And we all got cuts and loss of blood," Catty told them. "Does that seem suspicious to either of you?" Sam and Dean nodded. "So, what the hell is..." Catty stopped walking, looking around at the empty lobby. "Where is everybody?"

Catty walked toward the lobby doors, trying to open them to no avail.

"Let me guess," Dean told them. "It's locked. So, what? The roaches check in, they don't check out?"

"Think about how we got here," Sam told them. "That detour on 1-90? The freaking hurricane?"

"You saying we were led here?" Dean asked.

"Like rats in a maze," Sam answered.

They exchanged a look, walking out of the lobby.

§

Kitchen

Sam, Dean and Catty walked in. There was food left on the counter. There was a pot left bubbling a red liquid on the stove with a ladle resting on the edge.

Catty walked closer. "Please be tomato soup. Please be tomato soup." She lifted the ladle to reveal eyeballs, obviously not tomato soup. She dropped the ladle, looking away in disgust. "Motel Hell."

Sam saw the locked freezer, slowly walking toward it.

"Help us!" a man called. "Get us out!"

Dean and Catty walked closer, looking in through the window to see the rest of the hotel guests locked inside the freezer. Sam reached into his pocket, taking out his lock picking tool kit.

"Hurry up!" Dean told him.

"I'm going as fast as I..." Sam trailed off, looking behind Dean and Catty. "As I can."

"There's somebody behind us, isn't there?" Dean asked.

There were three large men standing behind Dean and Catty.

§

Grand Ballroom

The three large men manhandled Dean, Catty and Sam into the room. Dean, Catty and Sam struggled, unable to fight.  The men pushed them forward. Several other people were in the room. The man that had been an elephant was there. He had a name tag. Ganesh. There were flashes of Ganesh the God of wisdom, knowledge and new beginnings in pictures of mythology. An elderly man was there. He had a name tag. Odin. There were flashes of Odin the God of battle, magic and poetry in pictures of mythology. The woman from the hotel room was there. She had a name tag. Kali. There were flashes of Kali the Goddess of time, change and destruction in pictures of mythology. The man from the hotel room was there, standing next to Kali. He had a name tag. Balder. There were flashes of Balder the God of light, purity and reconciliation in pictures of mythology. There was another man there. He also had a name tag. Baron Samedi. There were flashes of Baron Samedi the God of the dead in pictures of mythology. Chet/Mercury was there. His name tag: Mercury. There were flashes of Mercury, the Messenger of Gods in pictures of mythology. The doors behind Dean, Catty and Sam were closed.

"Something tells me this isn't a Shriner convention," Dean told them.

Mercury walked closer with a cart of food. "Dinner is served."

Mercury pulled the top off the dinner, revealing the security guard's head in the middle of all the food. There was applause. A spotlight shone onto Dean, Catty and Sam.

"Ladies and gentlemen..." Balder trailed off. "Our guests of honor have arrived."

Dean looked confused. Catty and Sam knew that they were in a roomful of actual Gods and couldn't possibly win a fight against them all.

§

Everyone was seated at the main, rectangular table with the middle of it missing. Sam, Catty and Dean sat at one of the heads of the table, across from Kali, Balder and an empty seat. All of the others were seated at the sides of the table, four to each end.

Balder clinked a for to his champagne flute. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming. Although, in all my centuries, I never thought I'd see this. This many Gods under one roof."

Dean looked at Sam and Catty. "Gods?"

"Now, before we get down to brass tacks, some ground rules," Balder told them. "No slaughtering each other. Curb your wrath. Oh, and, uh, keep your hands off the local virgins. We're... trying to keep a low profile here."

Catty looked at Sam and Dean, whispering. "Oh, we are so, so screwed."

"Now, we all know why we're here," Balder told them. "The Judeo-Christian Apocalypse looms over us. I know we've all had our little disagreements in the past. The time has come to put those aside and look toward the future. Because if we don't, we won't have one. Now, we do have three very valuable bargaining chips. Michael and Lucifer's vessels, and the brother that they can use to threaten to use against them to make them either say yes or no. The question is, what do we do now? Anybody have any bright ideas? Speak up. This is a safe room."

A God with the name tag reading: Zao Shen spoke in Mandarin angrily. "Women zuo shenme? Women shale tamen. [What do we do? We kill them.]"

"Oh, I don't like his tone," Sam told them.

Ganesh laughed. "Kill them? What, so the Angels can bring them back again?"

"I don't know what everybody's getting so worked up about," Odin told them. "'Cause it's just a couple of Angels having a slap fight. There's no Armageddon. Everybody knows, when the world come to an end, the Great Serpent Jormungandr rises up, and I myself will be eaten by a big wolf."

Odin laughed.

Zao Shen sighed, speaking in Mandarin. "Kaishille... [Here we go...]"

"Oh, yeah?" Odin asked. "And why is that? Because your beliefs are so much more realistic? The whole world's getting carried around on the back of a giant turtle?" He scoffed. "Give me a break."

Zao Shen spoke in Mandarin. "Buyao chaoxiao wo de shijie gui. [Don't mock my world turtle.]"

Odin stood threateningly. "What are you gonna do about it?"

Zao Shen spoke in Mandarin language angrily. "Wo yao song ni baozhuang wa er ha la! [I'm gonna send you packing to Valhalla!]"

"You watch your mouth when you talk to me, boy!" Odin told him.

Zao Shen spoke in Mandarin. "Nanhai? Wo bi ni da. [Boy? I'm older than you.]"

"No one's ever proved that," Odin told him.

Sam, Catty and Dean slowly and quietly stood from their seats, attempting to exit the room without being noticed. A chandelier fell in front of them with a loud crash, the glass shattering.

Kali stood. "Stay." Dean, Catty and Sam turned to face them. Kali looked around the others. "We have to fight. The Archangels, the only thing they understand is violence. This ends in blood. There is no other way. It's them, or us."

"With all due respect, ma'am, we haven't even tried talking to them," Mercury told her.

Kali tilted her head toward Mercury, using magic to make him choke on blood, vomiting the blood onto the table in front of him.

"Kali," Balder told her.

Kali released Mercury from her spell. "Who asked you?"

The doors opened from behind Sam, Catty and Dean. They turned to see Gabriel walk in.

Gabriel raised his arms in a shrug. "Can't we all just get along?"

"Gab--" Dean started.

Gabriel made a zipping motion with his finger. Sam, Catty and Dean suddenly couldn't talk.

Gabriel clicked his tongue, looking between them. "Sam. Catty. Dean. It's always wrong place, worst time with you muttonheads, huh?"

Balder stood. "Loki."

"Balder," Gabriel replied. "Good seeing you, too. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail."

Gabriel stepped past Sam, Catty and Dean.

"Why are you here?" Balder asked tightly.

Dean, Catty and Sam turned to face them.

"To talk about the elephant in the room," Gabriel answered. Ganesh started to stand indignantly. "Not you. The Apocalypse." Ganesh relaxed into his seat. "We can't stop it, gang. But first things first." Gabriel turned to face Dean, Catty and Sam. "The adults need to have a little conversations. Check you later."

Gabriel snapped his fingers. Sam, Catty and Dean disappeared.

§

Hotel Room

Dean, Catty and Sam appeared in the boys' side of the room.

"Okay," Catty told them. "Did that--Holy crap."

"Yeah, tell me about it," Sam told them. "By the way, next time I say let's keep driving, uh, let's keep driving."

"Okay," Dean agreed. "Yeah. Next time."

"All right, so, what's our next move?" Sam asked.

"I--I--I..." Catty trailed off. "I don't know. Grab those poor saps out of the freezer, I guess. Bust them out. Gank a few freaks along the way if we're lucky."

They heard Gabriel's voice behind them. "And when are you ever lucky?"

They turned to see Gabriel sitting on the couch with his feet propped up on the glass table, his arm resting on the back of the couch, and his head leaning against his fingers.

"Oh, you know what?" Catty asked. "Bite me, Gabriel."

"Maybe later, Citty Cat," Gabriel told her.

Catty shook her head, exasperated. "I should have known. I mean, this had your stink all over it from the jump."

"You think I'm behind this?" Gabriel asked, lowering his feet to the floor. "Please." He stood in front of Catty. "I'm the Costner to your Houston. I'm here to save your ass."

"You wanna pull us out of the fire?" Catty asked skeptically.

"Bingo," Gabriel answered. "Those guys are either gonna dust you, or use you as bait. Either way, you're uber-boned."

"Wow," Catty told him sarcastically. "'Cause a couple of months ago, you were telling us that we need to 'play our roles'. You were uber-boning us."

"Oh, the end is still nigh," Gabriel told them. "Michael and Lucifer are gonna dance the Lambada, but not tonight. Not here."

"And why do you care?" Catty asked.

"I don't care," Gabriel told them. "But, me and Kali, we, uh, had a thing. Chick was all hands."

Sam looked at Dean and Catty. "See? Quite the ladies man." Gabriel smirked. Sam looked at Gabriel. "Like how Octavia was one of your girls."

"Yeah, my first," Gabriel answered. "You know, before I faked my death and turned into the Trickster. Octavia was no hands."

"Yeah, I bet," Sam told him. "Before Ava died."

Gabriel looked at them for a moment, not processing yet. "What?"

Sam avoided his gaze. "Yeah. Ava's dead."

Gabriel walked closer. "No, no, no. That's not possible."

"Look, I'm sorry, if you actually care about Ava or what, but--" Sam started.

"No, I literally mean that can't be possible," Gabriel told them. "I've skipped to the last page of the book. I knew how everything was gonna end. No where in it does it say that Octavia dies for real."

"Read my mind and tell me if we're lying," Sam told him.

Gabriel seemed to be reading Sam's mind, searching for the truth. He seemed to find it, expressionless.

Dean nodded to himself. "So you're saying that there is a chance that we can change the script and stop all of this."

Gabriel didn't answer, backing away a few steps.

"So it turns out the devil does care after all," Catty told him. "Feeling a little sentimental for your first flame, Gabriel?"

"You had to have cared about someone," Sam told him. "And we know that the only one that you would really care about is Ava."

Gabriel seemed annoyed.

"Do they have a chance?" Sam asked. "Against Satan?"

"Really, Sam?" Dean asked.

"You got a better idea, Dean?" Sam replied.

"It's a bad idea," Gabriel told them. "Lucifer's gonna turn them into finger paint. So, let's get going while the going's good, hmm?"

"Okay," Catty told him. "Great. Why don't you just zap us out of here then?"

"Would if I could, but Kali's got you by the short and curlies," Gabriel told them. "It's a blood spell. You guys are on a leash."

"What does that mean?" Dean asked.

"It means it's time for me to take a page out of our own little Ava's double agent book and play with a bit of old black magic," Gabriel told them, spritzing his mouth with breath spray.

"Okay, yeah," Dean told him. "Well, whatever. Well, we're gonna take the hors d'oeuyres in the freezer with us."

"Forget it," Gabriel told them. "It's gonna be hard enough sneaking you mooks out of here."

Catty thought for a moment, pointing at Gabriel. "They called you Loki, right? Which means they don't really know who you are."

"Told you," Gabriel told them. "I'm in witness protection."

"Okay, well, then how about you do what we say, or we tell the, uh, Legion of Doom about your secret identity?" Catty asked. "They don't seem like a real pro-Angel kind of crowd."

"I'll take your voices away," Gabriel told them.

"We'll write it down," Catty told him.

"I'll cut off your hands," Gabriel replied.

"Well, then, people are gonna be asking, 'Why are you guys running around with no hands, and why can't you answer our questions?'" Catty told him.

Gabriel narrowed his eyes at Catty. Catty smirked smugly, raising her eyebrows, knowing she had him. Gabriel looked at Sam and Dean. Sam shrugged. Dean smirked.

Gabriel exhaled. "Fine."

Kali's Hotel Room

Kali was undressing in her room, leaving her in a black bra. The lights turned off. The candles on her table set aflame.

Gabriel appeared with a rose in hand, looking at Kali. "Bonjour, mon amour."

"Leave," Kali told him.

"You always did play hard to get," Gabriel told her.

Kali smirked. "I've moved on."

"I noticed," Gabriel told her. "Balder? Really?"

Kali turned to face the mirror, looking into her reflection. "Balder's uncomplicated."

§

Lobby

Sam, Dean and Catty walked into the lobby/lounge area, hearing a man screaming from the far side employee entrance, quickly walking out of sight. Two Gods drug one of the freezer occupants out into the lobby. It was the man that Dean had been talking to at the buffet. Sam, Dean and Catty pressed back against the wall to hide. The Gods put the man on the counter, face first, holding him there as he struggled uselessly.

"No!" the man told them. "No! No!"

Catty pushed away from the wall.

Dean pushed Catty back. "It's too late."

The man continued to scream. "Please!"

One of the Gods chopped the man's head off with a cleaver. Catty looked away.

§

Kali's Hotel Room

Kali turned to face Gabriel. "I never took you for the type."

"Romantic?" Gabriel asked.

"Pathetic," Kali told him.

Gabriel poured them two glasses of wine, raising one toward Kali. "You're the one who called me here."

"Because I thought you might take this seriously," Kali told him.

Gabriel took a drink. "I'm taking this seriously. Ship's sinking. Time to get off. I mean, screw this marble. Let's go check out Pandora."

"It doesn't have to be like that," Kali told him.

Gabriel set down the glasses, walking toward Kali. "Afraid it does."

"If we fight--" Kali started.

"You die," Gabriel told her.

"And what makes you such an expert?" Kali asked.

"I've tussled with those winged ass-monkeys once or twice," Gabriel told her. "Kali... no more tricks. I'm begging you. Don't do this."

"I have to," Kali told him.

Gabriel chuckled softly, looking down. He looked at Kali. "Can't blame me for trying." Kali smirked. "Still love me?"

Kali let the smirk fade. "No."

Kali grabbed Gabriel's shirt, pulling him into a kiss.

§

Kitchen

Catty tried to hurriedly unlock the freezer with her lock picking tool kit. Zao Shen appeared. He grabbed Dean from behind, throwing him into a metal shelving unit, making him fall to the floor. He turned to Sam, throwing him into the wall, making the wall break, making Sam fall to the floor. Catty turned to Zao Shen. Zao Shen grabbed Catty's throat, pinning her to the freezer door, making her gasp in pain.

§

Kali's Hotel Room

Kali and Gabriel were kissing. The three vials of blood that contained Sam, Dean and Catty's blood were on the dresser behind Kali.

Zao Shen continued to strangle Catty. Catty struggled to get him off.

Kali's Hotel Room

Kali and Gabriel continued to kiss. Gabriel subtly reached toward the vials of blood, smoothly.

Dean and Sam were trying to stand.

Kali's Hotel Room

Gabriel's fingertips barely grazed the vials of blood.

Zao Shen lifted Catty from the floor, making her slide up the door, tightening his hold around her throat angrily.

§

Kali's Hotel Room

Kali pricked Gabriel's neck, drawing blood.

Gabriel pulled back. "Ow."

§

Kitchen

Dean staked Zao Shen with a wooden stake through his back into his heart, killing him. The body fell to the floor. Catty slid back to the floor, nearly falling over in the process. Sam caught Catty before she fell. Catty gasped for breath, holding her throat.

Dean looked exasperated. "Where the hell is Gabriel?"

§

Kali's Hotel Room

Kali looked at Gabriel very seriously, on the verge of being angry. "You must take me for a fool... Gabriel." She showed him his blood on her fingers. "You're bound to me, now and forever."

Gabriel sighed.

§

Grand Ballroom

Sam, Dean and Catty were thrown into the ballroom again with the Gods and Gabriel.

Gabriel looked at Kali. "How long have you known?"

"Long enough," Kali answered.

The three Gods forced Dean, Sam and Catty to sit down at the table next to Gabriel.

Catty looked at Gabriel sarcastically. "How's the rescue going?"

Gabriel looked at Catty sarcastically, smiling, looking away.

"Well, surprise, surprise," Kali told them. "The Trickster has tricked us."

"Kali, don't," Gabriel told her.

"You're mine now," Kali told him, sitting on his lap. "And you have something I want." She reached into Gabriel's jacket, taking out his Angel Sword. "An Archangel's Sword. From the Archangel, Gabriel."

The other Gods reacted silently. Kali stood, glaring at Gabriel.

Gabriel forced himself to smile. "Okay! Okay! So, I got wings, like Kotex. But that doesn't make me any less right about Lucifer."

"He's lying," Kali told them. "He's a spy."

"I'm not a spy," Gabriel told her. "I'm a runaway. I'm trying to save you. I know my brother, Kali. He should scare the living crap out of you. You can't beat him. I've skipped ahead, seen how this story ends--"

"Your story," Kali told him. "Not ours. Westerners, I swear. The sheer arrogance. You think you're the only ones on Earth? You pillage and you butcher in your God's name. But you're not the only religion, and he's not the only God. And now you think you can just rip the planet apart? You're wrong. There are billions of us. And we were here first. If anyone gets to end this world, it's me." She put a hand on Gabriel's cheek. "I'm sorry."

Kali staked Gabriel in the heart with his own Angel Sword, making him scream, killing him with a flash of bright white light. She backed away from Gabriel's body. Everyone else, including Sam, Dean and Catty, were in shock.

"This is crazy," Mercury told them.

"They can die," Kali told them. "We can kill Lucifer."

Catty sighed, standing. "All right, you primitive screwheads. Listen up."

"Are you out of your mind?" Sam asked. "Did those months with insomnia give you brain damage?"

"I'm out of options," Catty told them. She sighed, looking at the Gods. "Now on any other given day, I'd be doing my damnedest to, uh, kill you. You filthy murdering chimps. But, uh, hey, desperate times. So even though I'd love nothing better than to slit your throats, I'm gonna help you. I'm going to help you ice the Devil. And then we can all get back to ganking each other, like normal. You want Lucifer, well, dude's not in the Yellow Pages. But me, Dean and Sam, we can get him here."

"How?" Kali asked.

"First you let those main courses go," Catty told them. "Then we talk. We can either take on the Devil together, or you lame-ass bitches can eat me. Literally."

§

Outside - Parking Lot

Catty led every Human being out of the hotel, in the parking lot. "Come on, everybody! Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go." Everyone was more than happy to run out of there. "All right, all right, go, go, go! Get out of here!"

She heard someone whispering. "Psst! Catty!" Catty looked toward Gabriel in the back seat of the Impala with the window rolled down. She was in shock. "Don't look at me!" Catty looked away. "Act natural. Get in."

Catty walked toward the car, getting into the driver's seat.

§

The Impala

Catty sighed, turning to face Gabriel. "Man, there is nothing natural about this at all. I thought you were dead."

"You think I'd give Kali my real sword?" Gabriel asked skeptically. "That thing can kill me."

Catty looked away. "Then what do they have in there?"

"A fake," Gabriel answered smugly. "Made it out of a can of diet orange Slice. So, uh, go snag our blood, would you?"

"What?" Catty asked.

"I heard you in there," Gabriel told her. "Very impressive, by the way." Catty shrugged one shoulder. "But everyone in there thinks you're getting the Humans out alive even while you can't leave the property because of the blood spell. They'll never know if you sneak up to the room and snag the blood. Lift the plasma, then we vamoose."

"No," Catty told him. "Hand over the real sword. Better yet, why don't you sack up and help us take down Lucifer?"

"You can't be serious," Gabriel told her.

"Deadly," Catty answered.

"Since when are you BFFs with a bunch of monsters?" Gabriel asked. "That's all they are to you, aren't they?"

"All right, you know, Sam was right," Catty told him. "It's nuts, but it's the best idea I've heard, so unless you have a better one..."

"Well, good luck with that," Gabriel told her. "Me? I'm blowing Jonestown. Those lemmings wanna run off a cliff, that's their business."

"I see right through you, you know that?" Catty asked. "The smart-ass shell, the whole 'I could give a crap' thing? Believe me, it takes one to know one."

"That so?" Gabriel asked.

"Yes," Catty answered. "I saw your reaction when we told you that we thought Octavia's dead. And maybe those freaks in there aren't your blood, but they are your family."

"They just stabbed me in the freaking heart," Gabriel told her.

"Maybe, but you still give a crap about them, don't you?" Catty replied.

Gabriel hesitated. "Just because I cared about Octavia does not mean that I care about them."

"Maybe so but, they're gonna die in there, without you," Catty told him. "Whether you care about the Gods or not, you gotta admit, deep down, you still care about Ava. You proved that. What do you think Ava would want you to do?"

Gabriel nodded sarcastically. "Using Octavia against me. That's just cruel."

"Yeah, well, you've been cruel to me, so I'm gonna be cruel to you," Catty replied.

"I can't kill my brother," Gabriel told her.

Catty looked at Gabriel. "'Can't' or 'won't'?" Gabriel didn't answer. "That's what I thought."

Catty gave Gabriel a look, getting out of the car, closing the door, walking toward the hotel. Gabriel considered what she had said.

§

Inside - Grand Ballroom

Kali, Balder, Sam and Dean were standing in the room.

"So you're going to summon Lucifer?" Kali asked.

"Sort of," Sam answered. "I just need you to squeegee some stuff from my ribs, and he'll come running."

"Breaking them would be easier," Kali told them.

Catty walked in, standing on the other side of Dean. "Show's over. Sword's a fake. And Gabriel? He's still kicking." She looked at Kali. "I hate to break it to you, sister, but you've been tricked."

§

Lobby - Front Desk

The bell was rung. Mercury stood behind the desk, turning to face whoever was there.

Lucifer stood there, his vessel (Nick) burning away. "Checking in."

§

Mercury smirked. "Lucifer. Thanks for coming."

"Oh, you did right calling me," Lucifer told him.

"It's just..." Mercury trailed off. "The way the talk is heading in there, it's... it's insane."

"You know, I never understood you Pagans," Lucifer told him. "You're such... petty little things. Always fighting... always happy to sell out your own kind." He pointed at Mercury. "No wonder you forfeited this planet to us. You are worse than Humans. You're worse than Demons. And yet you claim to be Gods." He tilted his head, still pointing at Mercury, twisting his wrist, using magic to snap his neck, killing him, letting him fall to the floor. He lowered his arm to his side. "And they call me prideful."

§

Grand Ballroom

The lights started to flicker.

"What's happening?" Balder asked.

They could hear screaming from out in the hall.

§

Hallway

Odin was lying on the floor, screaming in pain. Lucifer stomped on his head, killing him. A few other Gods were in the hallway, dead on the floor. Blood was splattered on the walls. Lucifer turned to face Ganesh, raising an arm toward him. Ganesh exploded, blood and flesh splattering on the walls, the ceiling and the floor. Lucifer turned to face Baron Samedi. Baron Samedi tried to punch him. Lucifer caught his fist, ripping his arm off, making him scream and blood splatter on the wall.  The floor was covered with the Gods' bodies. Lucifer was barely splashed with blood. The lights flickered above him. Lucifer stepped over their bodies, walking down the hallway.

§

Grand Ballroom

Sam looked at Catty, Dean, Kali and Balder. "It's him."

"How?" Kali asked.

"Does it matter?" Catty asked. "Shazzam us out of here, would you?"

"We can't," Balder told them.

Lucifer walked in. "Of course you can't. You didn't say, 'Mother, may I?' Sam, Dean, Catty, good to see you again. I can tell that your friend Ness didn't take the warning from me and Death very seriously."

Sam, Dean and Catty glared at him. The doors behind Lucifer closed. Balder stepped toward Lucifer.

"Balder, don't," Kali told him.

Balder ignored her, looking at Lucifer. "You think you own the planet? What gives you the right?"

Balder stalked forward.

Lucifer pushed his hand into Balder's chest, straight through his back, making him gasp. "No one gives us the right. We take it."

Lucifer pulled his arm out of Balder's chest, letting his dead body fall to the floor. Kali became enraged, engulfing her arms in fire, throwing it at Lucifer. Sam, Dean and Catty ducked for cover behind an overturned table. The flames dissipated, spreading over the room, over the table, Sam, Dean and Catty, but didn't touch them. The flames disappeared, revealing no damage to Lucifer. Lucifer punched Kali in the face, upper-cutting her in the jaw, the force of the single blow ripping her head off, killing her, her body falling to the floor.

Catty looked at Sam and Dean. "You okay?"

Gabriel appeared on the other side of Catty, his voice making her jump. "Not really." Catty gave him an exasperated look. "Better late than never, huh?" Gabriel handed Dean a copy of Casa Erotica 13 on DVD. "Guard this with your life." Gabriel stepped out of hiding. Lucifer was approaching the table with Sam, Dean and Catty. He was thrown back through the double doors, out into the hall, falling to the floor. He stood, looking forward. Gabriel was standing a few feet in front of him, Angel Sword in hand. "Luci, I'm home." Lucifer walked in, stepping closer to the table. Gabriel stood in his way, using the sword to point at Lucifer. "Not this time. Guys! Get out of here."

Dean, Catty and Sam stood, circling around behind Gabriel toward the door. Gabriel stood in front of them protectively, putting himself between them and Lucifer, keeping the sword aimed at him threateningly.

Lucifer circled around Gabriel. "Over the Humans? Or was it over the Angel? Octavia? Gabriel, really? I mean, I knew you were slumming, but I hope you didn't catch anything."

Dean, Catty and Sam walked out of the room, leaving.

Gabriel smirked. "Lucifer... you're my brother, and I love you. But you're a great big bag of dicks."

"What did you just say to me?" Lucifer asked.

Gabriel used his Angel Sword to point at Lucifer. "Look at yourself. 'Boo hoo. Daddy was mean to me, so I'm gonna smash up all his toys.'"

"Watch your tone," Lucifer told him.

"Play the victim all you want," Gabriel told him. "But you and me? We know the truth. Dad loved you best. More than Michael. More than me. Then he brought the new baby home, and you couldn't handle it. So all this is just a great big temper tantrum." Lucifer smirked without humor, but didn't deny anything. Gabriel looked at him seriously, pointing the sword at Lucifer. "Time to grow up."

§

Outside

Dean, Catty and Sam ran outside, toward the Impala. Dean got into the driver's seat. Sam got into the passenger seat. Catty got into the backseat on Dean's side. The Impala drove away quickly.

§

Inside - Grand Ballroom

Lucifer sighed. "Gabriel, if you're doing this for Michael--"

"Screw him," Gabriel told him. "If he were standing here, I'd shiv his ass too."

"You disloyal--" Lucifer started.

"Oh, I'm loyal," Gabriel told him. "To them."

"Who?" Lucifer asked. "These so called Gods? To Octavia?"

"To Octavia, yes, but to people too, Lucifer," Gabriel answered. "People."

"So, you're willing to die, for a pile of cockroaches?" Lucifer asked. "Why?"

"Because Dad was right," Gabriel answered. "They are better than us."

"They are broken," Lucifer told him. "Flawed. Abortions."

"Damn right they're flawed," Gabriel agreed. "But a lot of them try. To do better, to forgive. And you should see the Spearmint Rhino. I've been riding the pine a long time. But I'm in the game now, and I'm not on your side, or Michael's. I'm on theirs."

"Brother, don't make me do this," Lucifer told him.

"No one makes us do anything," Gabriel told him.

"I know you think you're doing the right thing, Gabriel, for Octavia," Lucifer told him. "But I know where your heart truly lies." A second Gabriel walked up behind Lucifer, lunging forward with an Angel Sword. Lucifer turned to face Gabriel, catching his arm, turning to face him, stabbing him in the heart with his own sword. "Here." The first Gabriel disappeared in a purple shimmer. "Amateur hocus pocus. Don't forget, you learned all your tricks from me, little brother."

Lucifer drove the sword further into Gabriel's chest, killing him with a flash of bright white light. He let him fall to the floor, breathing heavily, looking affected by this death. Gabriel's wings were seared onto the wooden floor beneath him on either side of him.

The screen turned to a hotel room. A woman was lying in bed in lingerie, reading a magazine.

Woman: (voice over) "Dear Diary, being a high powered business president is super-fun. But so exhausting. Sometimes, I just need to relax. I need Casa Erotica."

There was a knock on the door. "Room Service!"

The woman smiled. "Come in!"

Day Three

Morning - Roadside

The scene before turned out to be playing on a laptop that was resting on the trunk of the Impala. Dean, Catty and Sam were watching.

Sam looked at Dean skeptically. "Gabriel wanted you to guard this with your life?"

"Maybe he's a fan," Dean told them. "It is a good one."

§

Casa Erotica 13

The door to the hotel room opened.

Gabriel walked in, wearing a mustache and a service waiter's outfit. "I've got the kielbasa you ordered."

§

Roadside

Dean, Catty and Sam were surprised, confused.

"Ooh," the woman told him. "Polish?"

"Hungarian," Gabriel answered, tossing the dish onto the mantle, starting to kiss the woman passionately, feeling her up and down.

Catty turned away in disgust. "What the hell's going on?"

Gabriel pulled away from the woman, breaking the fourth wall. "Sam, Dean, Catty." Dean, Catty and Sam were even more confused and surprised. Gabriel took off the fake mustache, sitting down on the bed. "You're probably wondering what the hell is going on. Well, if you're watching this, I'm dead. Oh, please, Catty! Stop sobbing, it's embarrassing for all of us." Catty rolled her eyes. "Without me, you've got zero shot at killing Lucifer, sorry. But can trap him. The Cage you sprung Lucifer from? It's still down there. And maybe, just maybe, you can shove his ass back in. Not that it'll be easy. You gotta get the Cage open, trick my bro back into it. And, uh, oh, yeah, avoid Michael and the God Squad. But, hey, details, right? And here's the big secret, Lucifer himself doesn't even know. The key to the Cage? It's out there. Actually, it's keys, plural. Four keys, well, four rings. From the Horsemen. You get them all, you got the Cage. Can't say I'm betting on you guys. But, uh, hey! I've been wrong before." Gabriel hesitated. "And Octavia was right, before. I was afraid to stand up to my brother, not any more." He stood. "So this is me, standing up. And this is me, lying down."

Gabriel grabbed the woman, both falling back into the bed, returning to kissing. Sam and Dean looked confused and disturbed. Catty closed the laptop before it got too far.

"Horseman, huh?" Dean asked. "Well, we got War's."

Flashback - 5.02 "Good God, Y'All!"

Sam and Dean grabbed either of War's arms, restraining him. Ness and Catty helped push War against the Mustang, pinning him. Ness let War go, drawing Catty's Knife, taking War's right hand, slamming it against the red Mustang, cutting off all four of his fingers, making him scream in pain. The ring clinked on the pavement.

Eagle's Pass General Store - Outside

The AMC Hornet Wagon pulled up to the store, parking.

Inside

A store clerk read the newspaper behind the counter. The store was otherwise empty. A fly landed on the clerk's paper. The clerk readied a fly swatter. Pestilence walked in, appearing very ill. The fly got away. Pestilence sneezed, rubbing mucus-covered hands all over everything, searching for what he wanted. More flies were accumulating around the store clerk.

Pestilence grabbed a box of 'Flu Arrest'. "This stuff make you drowsy? Got a lot of driving to do."

"Blue ones make you sleepy," the clerk answered. "Red and orange ones are okay for day time."

Pestilence walked to the counter, sneezing all over the clerk's face, covering him in mucus. "This is awful."

Pestilence coughed, sniffing.
