THEN

From 8.17 "Goodbye, Stranger", in the warehouse's crypt, the stone fell to the floor, shattering, revealing the Angel Tablet that had been encased within.

Ness: (voice over from 8.17 Goodbye, Stranger) "If the Demon Tablet can shut the Gates of Hell, what can the Angel Tablet do?"

Sabrina looked at Catty. "Naomi has been controlling Dad since she got him out of Purgatory."

"Where's Cas?" Ness asked.

"Gone," Catty answered.

"He's protecting the Angel Tablet," Sabrina told them.

"From Naomi?" Ness asked.

"Yeah," Sabrina answered. "They'll go after him to get it." She looked at Catty. "They'll come after me, and they'll come after you to get to him. Dad's luring them to him to try to keep us safe."

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", on Fizzles' Folly, Naomi held her hand toward Catty. "My name is Naomi."

Catty backed away from Naomi. "Oh, I know who you are. And I know that you've been filling Sabrina's head with God knows what, and I know what you did to Cas after he got out of Purgatory."

From 8.10 "Torn and Frayed", outside the warehouse, Castiel had Samandiriel leaning against the Impala.

"They're controlling us, Castiel," Samandiriel told him.

Castiel stabbed Samandiriel in the heart with his Angel Blade, killing him, making his flash with bright white light.

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", on Fizzles' Folly, Catty looked at Naomi. "You screwed with Cas' head and had him spy on me and his daughter. You were trying to have me killed so you could take my daughter's power and call it your own."

"I'm only trying to make sure she fulfills the prophecy that she is supposed to be," Naomi told her. "She is a legacy."

"She is just a kid," Catty told her.

"She is a warrior, just as you are," Naomi told her. "Sabrina, the most powerful being on earth is ill-trained, ill-prepared, and is in the hands of you. And now Castiel is in the wind with a hydrogen bomb in his pocket."

From 8.14 "Trial and Error", on Fizzles' Folly's main compartment, Kevin looked at Dean, Ness, Sam, Catty and Sabrina. "God built a series of tests."

From 8.14 "Trial and Error", in the rooming barn's main room, Sabrina gripped the Hellhound by its back as she stood, pulling it up, making it stand on its hind legs, struggling to restrain it. Sam ran in with Octavia's Angel Sword, sliding closer to Sabrina and the Hellhound, in front of them, slashing the sword through the Hellhound, bathing himself in its black blood.

Kevin: (voice over from 8.14 Trial and Error) "When you've done all three, you can slam the Gates."

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", on Fizzles' Folly, Ness looked at Kevin. "What's the second Trial?"

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", in Hell, in Bobby's Cell, Bobby embraced Ness. Ness smiled, returning the embrace.

Kevin: (voice over from 8.19 Taxi Driver) "An innocent soul has to be rescued from Hell..."

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", in the woods, Sam held up his arm, the light now a blueish white that started to rise up into the sky.

Kevin: (voice over from 8.19 Taxi Driver) "And delivered unto Heaven."

Sam grabbed his right hand, falling to his knees in agony. His hand looked as if it was burning from the inside. He made a fist, making the burning light fade. "It's done."

From 8.20 "Pac Man Fever", in the Bunker's shooting gallery, Sam aimed the gun at the target, wavering. He used the other hand to steady the gun, shooting twice, still missing the target entirely on both shots he fired.

"This second Trial hit you a lot harder than the first one," Dean told him.

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", in Fizzles' Folly, in the bedroom, Kevin fell to the floor. His wrists and ankles were bleeding stumps, hands and feet missing. He was surrounded in his own blood. He screamed.

Kevin: (voice over from 8.19 Taxi Driver) "He's in my head."

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", in Fizzles' Folly's main compartment, Kevin was painting Sigils on the boat's windows, the room lit by multiple candles.

Crowley: (voice over from 8.19 Taxi Driver) "Fear, the hiding."

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", in Fizzles' Folly's main compartment, Kevin looked at Sabrina and Catty, talking from the doorway. "And if he's in my head, he knows where I man, and if he knows where I am, he knows where you are."

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", in Fizzles' Folly's main compartment, Kevin held his head. The windows shattered, covering everything with broken glass.

Crowley appeared. "Thought you could elude me forever?"

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", in Fizzles' Folly's main compartment, Sam, Dean, Catty, Ness and Sabrina walked in.

"Kevin?" Sabrina called.

Dean turned on the light. They looked around the empty room, devoid of everything, nothing on the walls or desk or counters, everything bare. The windows were intact, complete with Sigils.

Sam looked around. "He's gone."

"Little geek made a run for it," Catty told them.

Dean nodded. "Yeah. But where?"

They didn't have an answer.

From 8.19 "Taxi Driver", on Fizzles' Folly, Catty sat down next to Sabrina and Dean, looking at Sabrina. "Ava was obviously an Angel. Ava knew Cas better than anybody. Ava would know where Cas would go, what was going on with him, and... trying to figure it out, trying to stop Crowley and Balthazar..."

From 6.22 "The Girl Who Knew Too Much", in the warehouse, an Angel Blade pierced through Octavia's chest from behind, through her heart, making her gasp in pain.

Castiel looked on in shocked horror and denial, angry. "No!"

Octavia had blood trickling down her chin, gasping.

"You're just a girl who knew too much," Balthazar told her, taking the blade out of Octavia's back, letting her fall to the floor.

Light exploded out of Octavia's body. Her wings seared onto the concrete on either side of her. Her arms aligned with the wings.

From 8.20 "Pac-Man Fever", in Heaven, in Naomi's Office,  Naomi was sitting at her desk. "I know you have unfinished business with him. Which is why I'm taking your assistance in helping us find Castiel." She stood, walking around the desk toward the other side of her desk, leaning against it. Octavia was the one sitting in the chair in front of Naomi. "You're the only one who can find him. This is why we brought you back, at the cost of many Angels' lives. You're ready for this, Octavia., willingly or unwillingly."

Octavia smirked.

NOW

§

Day One

Morning - Fizzles' Folly - Main Compartment

Kevin woke sitting at the table, a note still stuck to his face. He stood, pulling the note off his face, putting it onto the wall with the rest of his notes. There was a knock on the floor. Kevin approached the door warily.

Sabrina's voice came from the other side. "Kevin! Come on, it's us! Open up."

There was more knocking.

Dean's voice came from the other side. "Bleeding out here!" Kevin opened the door barely. "Come on, it's me." Kevin sprayed Dean in the face with water. "Now it's wet me."

Dean wiped the water away.

"You forgot the knock," Kevin told them. "What's the point of a secret knock if you don't use it?"

"Sorry, Kevin," Sam told him. Kevin sprayed Sam, Catty and Ness in the face with water. "We got it."

Kevin took the chains off the door. Sabrina, Dean, Sam, Catty and Ness walked in.

"Got what?" Kevin asked.

"We got a tip that Crowley was moving his earth side operations, so we, uh, laid ourselves an awesome trap," Dean told him.

"And it worked," Catty told him.

Ness took the other half of the broken Demon Tablet out of his bag. "We got the other half of the Tablet."

"What?" Kevin asked.

"It's the light at the end of your tunnel, kid," Ness told him. "Don't say we never got you nothing."

Ness handed Kevin the Tablet.

"Holy crap," Kevin told them. "Are you kidding? We can get the third Trial. We can finally figure out how to close the Gates of Hell on Crowley's ass forever."

"Sounds good to me," Catty told him. "So, we digging up the other half of that thing, or what?"

"Don't need to," Kevin told them, pointing to the wall of notes.

"So, uh, Special K, you keep your nose to the God-stone," Sam told him. "We're gonna drive out and make a lot of noise a long way from here, keep the safeboat safe for you."

Kevin ignored them, already scribbling down more notes.

"We'll be back as soon as we can, okay?" Dean asked.

Kevin didn't answer.

Sabrina looked at Dean, Sam, Catty and Ness. "I guess he's okay." She looked at Kevin. "All right, don't forget to lock up after us."

Sabrina, Dean, Sam, Catty and Ness walked out, leaving.

§

Outside

Sabrina, Dean, Sam, Catty and Ness walked onto the pier, engulfed by a rippling effect.

§

Lair

The moment they entered the building, "Sabrina", "Dean", "Sam", "Catty", and "Ness" transformed back into Demons.

Crowley was sitting in a chair nearby. "So, it's three Trials. Three Trials and the Winchesters get to lock the door on me." He looked at Demon!Sam. "You. Fake Sam. If you're gonna tip our hand, I'll have to scrub Kevin's short-term memory again. And that's risky, so watch the patois in there."

"Patois?" Demon!Sam repeated.

"Your slang," Crowley answered. "'Special K', 'nose to the God-stone'? That's the way Dean and Catty speak. Sam and Ness are... more basic, more sincere. But Catty has a sweet side, and Ness has a smartass side, as well, when Ness is not rattling off intel like nobody's business. And Sabrina is outgoing and sweet, not quiet and timid. Remember, I want distinct, authentic characterizations."

"Yes, sir," Demon!Sabrina told him.

Crowley waved the Demons off, dismissing them. "I was born to direct."

§ Worlds Colliding (Supernatural) §

Lebanon, Kansas

The Bunker - Library

Sam was sitting at one of the tables, huddled underneath a blanket. Ness stood nearby the bookshelves, going over some documents. Dean was pouring himself a glass of whiskey. Sabrina sat the other table, holding the box that contained the Spear of Destiny.

Catty was carrying a tray of food, walking toward them. "All right, here we go. John Winchester's famous cure-all kitchen sink stew. There you go. Enough cayenne pepper in there to burn your lips off, just like Dad used to make." She set the tray down in front of Sam, taking one of the two bowls off of the tray, placing it in front of Sabrina. Sabrina took a spoon, starting to eat. "Good, huh?" Sabrina nodded. "Hot, too." Sabrina nodded. Sam pushed his tray away. Catty looked at Sam sarcastically. "Yeah, we do the whole airplane thing with the spoon? When was the last time you ate?"

"I--I don't..." Sam trailed off.

"Days, Uncle Sam," Sabrina told him. "It's been three days."

Catty pulled out a thermometer.

Dean noticed, looking at Catty in confusion. "When'd you get that?"

"When Sammy started throwing off heat waves," Catty answered. She held the thermometer toward Sam. "Here."

Sam tossed the blanket aside, standing, stumbling. "Enough, Catty. Please."

"The bloody handkerchiefs, the fever, the shaky legs..." Dean trailed off. "This is not good."

"Well, I'm not good," Sam told them. "And I'm not going to be good until we can start moving again. Until I can start the third Trial."

"Trial?" Dean repeated. "We wouldn't let you start a moped. We're on the rails with this thing, okay? And the only way out of it is through it. Believe me, I know. And you know how bad we wanna slam the door on all those sons of bitches. But you gotta let us take care of you, man. You gotta let us help you get your strength back."

"This isn't a cold," Sam told them. "Or a fever, or whatever it is you're supposed to feed. This is part of it all. Those first two Trials... they're not just things I did. They're doing something to me. They're changing me."

Ness' laptop was on the table across from Sabrina. It beeped.

Ness sat at her laptop, looking at the email. "It's Kevin."

"Finally," Sabrina told them.

Ness opened the message on the laptop. WATCH THIS VIDEO NOW. Ness clicked the link, playing the video. Dean, Sam, Catty and Sabrina watched the video from behind Ness, over either of her shoulders.

It was of Kevin on Fizzles' Folly. "Guys. I've set up this message with some software on a remote server so it'd send itself to you if I didn't reset it with a command once a week. Which means I didn't reset it this week. And there's only one reason I wouldn't. Which means if you're watching this, then I... then I--I'm dead. I'm dead, you bastards! So screw you, screw God and everybody in between!" He took a moment to calm down. "Crowley must've gotten to me. And the one thing I know is that I won't break this time. Not sure how I know, but--but I do. I've been uploading all my notes, the translations. I'm sending you the links so you can get all of it. You guys are gonna have to figure out the rest. I'm sorry." Sabrina had tears in her eyes, her mouth open slightly in shock and denial, a tear falling down one cheek. "I know it was my job, but I--but I couldn't. I'm sorry."

The video came to an end.

Dean angrily swiped a stack of books off the table, making them fall to the floor. "Damn it!"

Sabrina let another tear fall. She turned toward Catty, leaning her head against Catty's stomach to hide the tears. Catty knelt next to Sabrina, pulling her closer. Sabrina leaned her head into her shoulder, crying silently. Sam and Ness didn't know how to react, in denial, guilty and deeply saddened.

§

Later

Ness was printing out Kevin's notes. Sabrina was sitting at the other table, looking at her unfinished soup numbly, unable to eat it anymore.

Dean was on the phone. "Yeah, I know you haven't seen him, Keel, nobody has. All right, well, if you talk to Garth, well, just have him call in. Yeah."

Dean hung up.

"Garth still MIA?" Ness asked.

Dean nodded. "Yeah."

"How about the other Prophets in line?" Sam asked. "I mean, if Kevin is, uh... is dead, then won't one of them be activated?"

"Nothing, no, not a peep," Ness answered.

Dean hesitated for a long moment. "Here we are. No lead, no Tablet, squat."

"Well, I mean, we got all this," Sam told them, picking up a stack of printed notes.

Sabrina was still looking at her unfinished soup numbly. "We should've moved Kevin here. We should've brought airhead here."

Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty looked at each other, knowing she was right, looking at Sabrina sadly, knowing she was taking this hard. Sabrina didn't move.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Biggerson's Restaurant

Castiel was sitting at one of the tables, looking at his watch. A waitress walked toward Castiel, refilling his coffee cup. Her name tag said her name was Kara.

"I guess I've been acquiring the taste," Castiel told her.

"Yeah, the coffee's not too bad here," Kara told him.

"You know, I remember when you first discovered it," Castiel told her. "Before you started brewing it, you'd just chew the berries. Folk tale is true, by the way. You learned it from the goats."

"Uh, been on the road a long time, huh?" Kara asked.

"Feels like I've been on the run forever," Castiel told her.

Kara exchanged a look with the man behind the counter. She looked at Castiel. "Uh, I'm sorry, mister, but you're gonna have to order more than coffee if you wanna keep the table."

"Of--of course," Castiel told her. "Um..." He looked at the menu. "I'll have the smart-heart beer-battered tempura tempters."

"Of course," Kara told him. "Coming right up."

Kara walked away, leaving. There was a buzzing noise. Castiel's coffee cup started to shake.

Castiel looked up. "They're getting closer."

A nearby waiter looked up. "What's that, chief?" Castiel disappeared, leaving. The waiter knelt to the floor, looking underneath the table Castiel had been sitting at. He looked at another employee. "I swear to God, Lance, the guy just disappeared."

Octavia appeared behind the two men.

"You on that crack again, Perry?" Lance asked.

Octavia looked at the table Castiel had been. She seemed cold but not nearly expressionless as Castiel had been when he had been under control.

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Naomi was sitting at her desk. Octavia appeared.

"Octavia, tell me that you have good news," Naomi told her.

"Cas is using a clever tactic," Octavia told her. "It's a restaurant called Biggerson's."

§

Palm Bay, Florida

Biggerson's Restaurant

Castiel sat at the table, drinking his coffee.

Octavia: (voice over) "The Humans have built hundreds of them, almost exactly alike."

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Naomi looked at Octavia in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Octavia sat in the chair across from Naomi. "It's their sameness."

§

Denver, Colorado

Biggerson's Restaurant

Castiel sat at his table, drinking coffee.

Octavia: (voice over) "Cas is using it against us."

§

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Biggerson's Restaurant

Castiel sat at his table, drinking coffee.

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Octavia looked at Naomi. "Now, we try to orient ourselves, but it's as if we're in every Biggerson's at once."

§

Portland, Oregon

Biggerson's Restaurant

Castiel sat at his table, drinking coffee.

Octavia: (voice over) "Trapped in a quantum superposition."

§

St. Louis, Missouri

Biggerson's Restaurant

Castiel sat at his table, drinking coffee.

Octavia: (voice over) "Now, Cas chooses which to go to next."

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Octavia looked at Naomi. "That's what's giving him the edge."

"How did you know that's where he would go in the first place?" Naomi asked.

Octavia sighed. "Cas and I..." She paused briefly before she said Sam's name, though while under the Angel's control, she couldn't feel much. "Sam, Dean and Catty Winchester, Ness and Bobby Singer used to regroup there when something had turned sideways. Well, from what I hear, Ness goes by Ness Singer-Winchester these days. I'm impressed that Dean and Ness finally tied the knot and surprised that it took this long. And this was before Ness' father Bobby died, and Sabrina Winchester was born. Before Catty and Cas were manipulated into bringing Sabrina into the world."

"Octavia, get back on topic," Naomi told her.

Octavia rolled her eyes. "Cas and I made a Biggerson's warehouse our meeting point when we had been apart of the Heavenly Civil War in case something was wrong. Seeing that Cas is now using our meeting place as a way to hide from Angels while trying to protect Catty and Sabrina is oddly touching."

"And you're saying that you can't catch him?" Naomi asked.

"There's just so many Biggerson's," Octavia told her.

"Very well," Naomi told her. "You say he can't be caught? Then you will simply have to make him stop, Octavia."

Octavia looked at Naomi expressionlessly, a smirk playing over her lips.

§

Lebanon, Kansas

The Bunker - Library

Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness were going through Kevin's notes.

Ness hummed, looking at another page. "There it is, again, every time."

"Hmm?" Dean asked.

"This symbol?" Ness asked. "I know it. Now, Kevin has it down as--as sort of like a signature, for the Scribe of God. It appeared every time Metatron makes one of his, uh, editor's notes."

"Okay," Catty told her.

"But I think I've seen it before," Ness told them. "I mean, it was a long time ago." She stood, walking toward the shelves. "It was an overview of Native American art. I think it's a petroglyph."

"A petro what now?" Sabrina asked.

Ness grabbed a book, putting it onto the table, pointing to the symbol that looked like a hexagon within a triangle within a circle with three smaller circles on each flat side of the triangle. "This one belonged to a tiny tribe in Colorado, more of a--a clan, really. It says here they held on to their scrap of mountains when all the other tribes fell to the white men. So, this glyph was a territorial marker. Closest translation? 'Messenger of God'. We have to go there."

"On that hunch?" Dean asked. "Sammy can barely function."

"I'm only gonna get worse," Sam told them. "I mean, until we get back to the real job, until we find the third Trial."

"We're out of Prophets," Ness told them. "We're not gonna figure out what Kevin couldn't. I'd say we got to this messenger of God, who wrote it in the first place."

"And you think this Metatron is hiding out in the mountains with a bunch of Indians?" Sabrina asked.

"Yeah," Ness answered. "Yeah, I do."

Sam hesitated. "Sabrina, you're not--you're not really supposed to say Indians. It's..." Sabrina raised her eyebrows. Sam gave up trying to explain. "We should go."

Sam walked away, leaving.

Catty shook her head barely. "You're delirious."

Castiel was sitting at his table. He looked down at his coffee cup. The table was smeared with blood. Castiel looked around the restaurant to see it was littered with bloodstained, dead bodies.

Kara was on the floor, leaning against one of the booths weakly. Her eyes were burned out of her head. "You have to stop." Castiel turned to see Kara. "She said you have to stop."

"No," Castiel told her.

"She said you have to stop," Kara told him.

Castiel walked closer worriedly, in denial. "No."

"Just stop," Kara told him. "You have to stop."

"No," Castiel told her.

"You have to stop," Kara told him. Castiel reached toward Kara to heal her. "She said you have to stop."

"Who?" Castiel asked. "Naomi?"

Octavia appeared behind Castiel, putting an Angel Blade underneath his chin to his throat. "No." Castiel turned to look at Octavia in shock, not quite believing. "Me."

Castiel could barely speak above a whisper, in shock. "Ava?"

Octavia smirked coldly, expressionlessly. "Hi, Cas."

The Impala pulled up outside.

Inside

Sam, Dean, Catty, Sabrina and Ness walked in.

"Nice place," Ness told them. They walked up to the desk. Ness rang the bell. The hotel manager walked up behind the desk. "Morning. Hi. Uh, we'd like two rooms, one joined." The manager didn't answer. "Here, please."

Sam wandered off. Ness signed them in.

Sam's vision was blurring. He could hear a ringing noise. "Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Catty asked. She looked at the manager. "He has the flu."

§

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Biggerson's Restaurant

Naomi and three other Angels were here now.

Kara was still mumbling. "You have to stop. You have to stop. She said you--"

"Octavia, can you please shut her up?" Naomi asked. "Can't hear myself think."

Emotionlessly void while being controlled, Octavia snapped her fingers, using magic to break Kara's neck, killing her.

Castiel was sitting in a chair. "Ava wouldn't have killed her if you weren't inside her head. Just like I wouldn't have tried to kill Catty if you hadn't made me. I never would have done that to Sabrina, to Catty. We were supposed to be Humans' shepherds, not their murders."

"Not always, Angel," Naomi told him. "There was that day, back in Egypt, not so long ago, where we slew every first-born infant whose door wasn't splashed with lamb's blood. And that was just PR."

"Well, I wasn't there," Castiel told her.

"Oh, you were there," Naomi told him. She looked at Octavia. "Both of you were." Octavia frowned in confusion. "You just don't remember it."

"How--how many times have you torn into our heads and washed them clean?" Castiel asked. "Not just mine, but Ava's too?"

"Frankly?" Naomi asked. "Too damn many." Octavia snapped her fingers, using magic to pull one of the chairs closer to her, sitting down, watching Naomi interrogate Castiel. "You're the famous spanner in the works. Honestly, I think you came off the line with a crack in your chassis. You have never done what you were told. Not completely. You don't even die right, do you? Not just you, but Octavia, too. Where is the Angel Tablet, Castiel?"

"In the words of a good friend..." Castiel trailed off, leaning closer to Naomi. "Bite me."

"Oh, we'll bite," Naomi told him. "Don't worry." She looked at the other three Angels. "Go. Search all these Biggerson's. He must have hidden it along the way."

The other two Angels disappeared, leaving.

Castiel looked at Octavia somberly. "Ava, please. I can't tell you what they want to know. I'm doing this to protect Catty and Sabrina. And you would, too, if you were you."

Octavia looked to be thinking, looking down, tilting her head slightly.

Fizzles' Folly

Kevin was working on the translation of the second half of the Demon Tablet. Demon!Sam, Demon!Sabrina, Demon!Catty, Demon!Dean, and Demon!Ness were standing nearby.

"I can barely see," Kevin told them. "I need food."

§

Later

Demon!Sam read from Kevin's shopping list. "All right, barbecue ribs, mashed potatoes..."

"Garlic mashed potatoes," Kevin corrected.

Demon!Ness took the list from Demon!Sam. "Garlic mashed potatoes, mixed greens with... baby lettuce, cornbread, and, uh, Pad Thai?"

"Garth says there's a good little place on the other side of town," Kevin told them.

"What the hell?" Demon!Catty asked, shrugging. "Kid's been working hard."

Demon!Sabrina nodded.

Crowley's Lair

Crowley and his henchmen Demons were watching Demon!Winchesters on the monitors.

"Those guys aren't half bad," Crowley told them.

"No, sir," Demon 1 agreed. "You chose well."

"Of course, if I wasn't running everything, I could've played Dean myself," Crowley told them. "Dean is always with Ness."

"Oh, you would've made a great Dean, sir," Demon 1 told him.

Crowley seemed annoyed with the Demon's search of approval.

Sam was lying on one of the beds, drinking a glass of water. Sabrina was sitting at the table.

Catty walked in. "Regular tourist mecca we got here. We're the only guests in this whole place. Last entry in the registry was in '06."

Sam looked at Catty tiredly, loopy. "Cat, did you ever tell Sabrina about the time when, uh... when Dad took us to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, on that pack mule ride?"

"The what?" Catty asked.

"Sow, Dean's, uh... Dean's mule kept farting, just, l--letting go, like, gale force," Sam told her.

"Sam, I was four," Catty told him. "Dean was 12. You were eight. I barely remember that. So, no, I didn't tell Sow."

Sabrina laughed quietly. "Uncle Dean rode a farty donkey."

"Okay," Catty told them. "Uh, Dean and Ness are checking out the Two Rivers Tribal Museum and Trading Post."

"Yeah," Sam told them. "Yeah." He sat up tiredly. "I'm gonna--I'm gonna, uh, I'm gonna follow the hotel manager, D--Dr. Scowley-scowl. He's like a villain from Scooby-Doo."

"No, hey," Catty told him. "Little big man? I'll do whatever you just said. You should get some rest."

"Yeah, I can do that, too," Sam told them, falling back onto the bed.

Catty looked at Sabrina, sighing, shaking her head.

§

Tribal Museum

Dean and Ness were looking through the hotel museum.

A guide led them along. "The people of the Two Rivers tribe came to this land centuries ago. A land that was harsh, and stony. But the mighty leader told his people that they must stay here. He claimed that this was the home on earth of the great Spirit's sacred messenger, and that if they'd make offerings, their blessings would be many."

"What were the offerings?" Dean asked.

"Huh?" the guide asked.

"Uh, what did the great Spirit's sacred messenger ask for?" Ness asked.

"Stories," the guide answered. "He asked the people to tell him stories."

Ness saw an old photo of the hotel's manager, who looked exactly as he did then as he did now. She looked at Dean. "I bet I know what the blessings were."

Ness and Dean looked at the old photo.

Hallway

Catty walked toward the stairs. Sabrina was looking down the opposite side of the hallway.

Catty stopped, turning to face her. "Sabrina?"

"Can you feel that?" Sabrina asked.

"Feel what?" Catty asked.

"The power," Sabrina answered, leading the way down the hall.

Catty hesitated, following her. The elevator doors at the end of the hallway opened. Catty pulled Sabrina into hiding under an alcove in the wall. The manager placed a stack of boxes in front of one of the rooms, walking into the elevator, taking it down. Sabrina and Catty stepped out of hiding, walking down the hall toward the boxes. Sabrina felt the door next to the boxes. Catty opened one of the boxes, revealing several books inside. Sabrina reached toward the door handle.

Catty caught her wrist. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, Sow. Not yet."

"Why not?" Sabrina asked.

"Because Metatron is supposedly an Archangel," Catty answered. "He's the one that wrote the Tablets."

"So maybe he can tell us what we need to know," Sabrina told her.

"And maybe we need Dean and Ness as backup in case he turns out like the other Angels," Catty told her. "You still got the Angel Blade Cas gave you?"

Sabrina nodded, letting the Angel Blade slip out of her sleeve into her hand. "I don't know how to smite an Angel yet, but I will in the future. That's why I brought it."

"Good girl," Catty told her. "And we know that Sam has Ava's Angel Sword, so we will wait for him, Dean and Ness so we're not alone, okay?" Sabrina smiled a small smile. "What?"

"You were serious about taking their help and protection," Sabrina told her.

Catty rolled her eyes. "And you know how much I hate needing to be protected. Come on, Sow."

Catty and Sabrina walked down the hallway.

Sam tossed and turned in the bed, feverishly, standing. He staggered and stumbled, catching himself against the wall. He swayed unsteadily, walking toward the bathroom. He had to stop, dizzy, falling unconscious.

Octavia punched Castiel in the face repeatedly, torturing him expertly with the Angel Blade, having him bloody and beaten. Castiel remained silent where he was sitting.

"Octavia, hurry," Naomi told her.

Octavia twisted the Angel Blade in her hand, walking close to Castiel, lowering her arm to her side. "Where is it, Cas?"

"This isn't you, Ava," Castiel told her. "Please. You have to fight it."

"Surprised that you even remember the old Ava," Octavia told him. "It's been what? Two, three years since you watched the old Ava get killed, hasn't it? Watched her get stabbed in the back by someone she thought was her friend. Someone she trusted." She admired the blade in her hand. "It's a mistake I won't make again."

The other three Angels appeared.

"We've been all over them," Angel 1 told them. "It's not there."

Naomi looked at Castiel. "Why? Why are you doing this? Let us put the Tablet back where it should be."

"I need to protect it," Castiel told them. "I told Ava before that I was drawing you to me, to keep you away from Catty and Sabrina. That was the truth. I need to protect them."

"From the Angels?" Octavia asked.

"From everyone and everything," Castiel told her. "You can do whatever they want to make you do, Ava. I will never tell you where I buried the Tablet. And I will never let anyone hurt Catty and Sabrina. Not again."

Octavia smirked. "I know, Cas. I know. Luckily, I don't believe you'll have to do either. The way you fight for Catty and Sabrina, the way you protect them and do anything for them... it's admirable. Catty and Sabrina would be touched and proud of Sabrina's father, Catty's man. Naomi should have caught you out of the gate, seeing as lately she's been knuckles-deep in that head of yours. She thinks that your touching the Tablet has broken her spell over you, to free Sabrina from her influence, to stop her from making you kill Catty to take Sabrina. Is that right? Naomi doesn't know you as well as I do, so you can't fault her for missing it. I mean, that is why she brought me back, after all. Because I know you better than anyone. I knew that you were going to be here. I know where you have the Tablet. If you got away from Naomi by touching the Tablet, why would you ever stop touching the Tablet? But you haven't stopped touching the Tablet, have you?"

Octavia held a hand toward Castiel, twisting it, using magic to pull the Angel Tablet slowly and painfully out of his abdomen, making him scream in pain. She kept her hand raised slightly in front of her, looking at the tablet levitating in front of her. She looked over her shoulder toward Naomi, smirking.

Naomi nodded, impressed. "Very nice deduction, Octavia. Do not touch it."

Octavia looked at the Angel Tablet in front of her. Angel 2 was suddenly shot in the chest, being killed with a flash of bright white light. He fell to the floor, dead. Angels 1 and 3 were shot in the arm, blood and Grace leaking out of the wounds. Octavia looked toward the shooter, still keeping the Angel Tablet levitating in the air.

Crowley stood there, gun raised. He smirked, lowering his gun. "Octavia, darling. Ava back from the dead. Miss me?"

Octavia glared at him murderously. "Crowley."

Sam was submerged in a bath of ice water. He came to, not realizing what was happening. "Get off!"

Sam pushed Dean and Ness away, scrambling to get out of the bath.

"Take it easy, Sam," Ness told him. "Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, take it easy."

Dean wrapped a towel around Sam's shoulders. "Found you on the floor, passed out, your temperature a 107. We had to force it down or you were toast."

Catty and Sabrina were standing in the doorway.

"He's here," Sabrina told them. "Metatron is here. I know it. I can feel him."

"What are you talking about?" Ness asked.

"Remember when I could feel Fred Jones' power at the old home?" Sabrina asked. "The power here is so much more..."

"Powerful?" Catty finished.

Sabrina nodded. "Yeah. I just know he's here. Metatron is here."

"Okay, 'here' where?" Dean asked.

"We can show you," Sabrina told them.

"The manager," Catty told them. "He was delivering books to him."

"Books?" Sam repeated.

Catty nodded. "Books. Hardcovers, paperbacks, novels. Books."

Ness realized, looking at Dean. "Stories."

Crowley showed the Angels his gun. "Do you like it? I had my R&D people melt down one of your Angel Blades, cast it into bullets. Seems to do the trick."

"How dare you?" Naomi asked.

"I'm the daringest devil you've ever met, love," Crowley told her, aiming a gun toward Naomi, pulling the trigger. Naomi disappeared just in time, leaving. Octavia raised a hand toward Crowley, eyes glowing blue from within. A bright light started to emanate from her hand. Crowley aimed his gun with the Angel Bullets toward her. "I've dealt with this before, Octavia, from Sabrina, someone stronger than you. Let's see who blinks first, Angels. Me or Ava."

Crowley shot Octavia in the stomach. Octavia looked at the blood and Grace leaking out in pain.

Castiel watched in concern. "Ava?"

The Angel Tablet started to fall. Octavia caught it before it shattered on the floor. The light coming from Octavia intensified, flooding the diner. She let herself disappear with the light.

Crowley lowered his gun, sighing. "Bullocks." He walked toward Castiel and Angel 1. "Hello, boys." Castiel looked from Crowley to Angels 1 and 2. "That's right, Cas. Ion and Si here is working for me. Don't worry, mate. I'll find Octavia. And I won't be alone. And being shot, after being just brought back from the dead... Well, we know that you weren't all the way back when you first got out of Purgatory. I doubt Ava's all the way back either. Ava won't necessarily be in top shape to fight back, will she?"

"Leave her be, Crowley," Castiel told him.

Crowley smirked. "Oh, I know. I know. You're relieved to have your best friend back, and now that Ava has hands on the Tablet, she's free from Naomi's control, as well. That was fast. You really should thank me for screwing this up so you could free Octavia from control. But once we have the Tablet, Ava won't be around for much longer." He looked at Ion and Si. "Now keep an eye over this one here. If I'm not back soon, give Cas here a very slow, very painful death. Like the death I'm planning on giving Octavia. Maybe Ava will stay dead this time around."

Crowley disappeared, leaving. Castiel was still weak from the beating from Octavia and having the Angel Tablet being magically removed, but very worried about his friend.

Kevin was sitting at the table, putting down his pen.

Demon!Sabrina sat down across the table from him. "Hey, Kevin, you okay?"

"I can't, all right?" Kevin asked. "It--It's the break in the stone. There's key writing, I--I can't make it out. You guys were right. I--I do need the other half of the tablet to get the Trial. It's not too far from here."

"Okay," Demon!Sabrina told him. "Uh, where is it? I'll go it."

"Uh, not alone, you won't," Demon!Catty told her. "I'm coming with you. End of story."

Demon!Sabrina sighed, rolling her eyes. "Fine, Mom."

Demon!Sam, Demon!Dean, and Demon!Ness exchanged a smirk.

Octavia was alone with the tablet, leaning against the brick wall behind her, pulling the Angel Bullet out of her stomach, groaning in pain.

Crowley appeared. "Your boy didn't want to give you up." Octavia stood, putting the Tablet in her jacket pocket, withdrawing the Angel Blade. "Luckily, he didn't have to. Ion and Si knew of your whereabouts. Yes. I have me Angels on the payroll. It's that kinda universe, these days. But then again, you wouldn't know that, would you?" Octavia glared at him. Two Demons were standing behind her. Octavia sensed them, turning around, stabbing one in the heart with the Angel Blade, killing him, making him flash with bright white light, putting a hand on the other Demon's head to smite him, killing him with a flash of bright white light. She let them fall to the ground, breathing heavily, deeply. Crowley chuckled. "You're not all the way back, are you? Don't worry, Ava. It took a while for Cas to return to full strength. That, and me shooting you slowed the process some. This should slow it down some more." Octavia turned to face Crowley. Crowley had his Angel Bullet gun, shooting Octavia in the stomach again, making her groan in pain. Octavia had to catch herself against the brick wall. Crowley smirked, walking closer. "So sorry to reunite you with death so soon after being brought back." He reached into her jacket to pull out the Angel Tablet, pushing Octavia to the ground. Octavia kept herself propped up on her arms, facing away from Crowley, looking at the ground. "But I assume you won't die just yet. Takes a painful long time to bleed out from the gut."

"Screw you, Crowley," Octavia told him.

"Oh, Ava's still a feisty one, isn't she?" Crowley asked. Octavia breathed deeply, heavily in pain, holding her stomach. "Well, have fun reuniting with the friend you have in death. I'm sure Ion and Si will have fun in delivering a slow, painful death to your friend Castiel, just like the one you'll be getting. I like the symmetry you two have." Crowley's phone rang. He answered. "Oh." Octavia leaned against the brick wall behind her for support, in severe pain. "This is the King."

The Demons impersonating the Winchesters had been caught in a Devil's Trap in a storage facility.

"The kid told us where the other half was, but it... wasn't," Demon!Catty told him. "Dab of crap tricked us, sent us into some kind of hunter mousetrap."

"You jackasses, you're ruining my streak," Crowley told them. He hung up. "Well, Octavia, I won't be able to watch you die, but here's a little parting gift." Crowley shot Octavia in the stomach yet again, making her groan a scream of pain. "There. That should keep you pinned down until the death of two of the most rebellious Angels. Toodles."

Octavia glared at Crowley in hate, breathing heavily and deeply in pain. "Rot in Hell, Crowley. You son of a bitch." Crowley smirked, disappearing, leaving. Octavia tilted her head back against the brick wall in frustration. She thought about what Crowley had said, looking around worriedly. "Cas."

Octavia took a deep breath, reaching into her stomach to pull out the two bullets.

Sabrina led Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty down the hallway. Sam was holding onto the doorpost as they went.

"We should be taking you to the ER," Dean told him.

"They can't do anything for me," Sam told them. "You know, I've been remembering things. Little things, so clearly--"

"What, donkey rides?" Sabrina asked.

Sam chuckled. "No, Sabrina, I used to read to Catty, um, when we were little. I--I mean, really little, from that--from that old, uh... Classics Illustrated comic book. Cat, you remember that?"

"No," Catty answered.

"Knights of the Round Table," Sam told them. "Had all of King Arthur's knights, and they were all on the quest for the Holy Grail. And I remember looking at this picture of Sir Galahad, and--and--and he was kneeling, and--and light streaming over his face, and--I remember... thinking, uh, I could never go on a quest like that. Because I'm not clean. I mean, I w--I was just a little kid. You think... maybe I knew? I mean, deep down, that I had... Demon blood in me, and about the evil of it, and that I wasn't pure?"

"Sam, it's not your fault," Ness told him.

"It doesn't matter anymore," Sam told them. "Because these Trials... they're purifying me."

They reached the end of the hallway.

Catty looked around the empty hallway. "They were here. The boxes of books. They're gone."

"But he's not," Sabrina told them, withdrawing her Angel Blade.

Sam withdrew Octavia's Angel Sword.

Metatron's Hotel Room

Sabrina pushed the door open, leading the way inside. Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty followed. The room was filled with thousands of books, stacked from floor to ceiling. Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty heard a shotgun cock behind them, turning to face a man. The man aimed a shotgun at Catty, Ness, Sabrina, Dean and Sam.

  §

The man still aimed his shotgun at Catty, Ness, Sabrina, Dean and Sam. "Who are you?"

Sabrina turned to face them, looking at the man. "Hi, Metatron."

Metatron looked at Sabrina in shock.

Dean looked at Sabrina skeptically. "Metatron? This is Metatron?"

Sabrina barely moved her head in a nod.

Metatron appeared behind Catty, Ness, Dean and Sam, standing next to Sabrina, aiming the shotgun at Catty, Ness, Dean and Sam. "Sit down." Sam, Dean, Ness and Catty turned to face Sabrina and Metatron, sitting down on the couch cautiously, slowly. Metatron looked at Sabrina. "What are you?"

"You seriously have to ask that?" Sabrina asked. "I'm the thing you kept writing about in your Tablets."

Metatron looked taken aback, happily surprised. "The Hybrid. I never thought that your true face would look so pure." He let his awe fade, turning suspicious. "Who sent you?"

Sam was holding his head. He heard a loud ringing in his head, half-shouting. "We came on our own."

"I'm Ness Singer-Winchester," Ness told him. "This is Sam, Dean, Catty and Sabrina Winchester."

"You work for Michael?" Metatron asked. "Or Lucifer?"

"What?" Sam asked. "You really haven't heard of us? What kind of Angel are you? We're--we're the freaking Winchesters."

Castiel was weak from the Angel Tablet being taken out of him. His stomach was still wounded and bleeding. His face was still bleeding and beaten from Octavia. He looked at Ion and Si. "How--how far can this go?"

"Shh," Si told him. "Shut up."

"Ion," Castiel told him. "Si. How far can we let it all drop? This charge was left to us. It's our mission."

"Do you even know what the mission was?" Ion asked. "They've been in all our heads."

"We aren't machines for them to program and reprogram," Castiel told them. "That wasn't what this was meant to be."

"Nothing matters," Si told him.

"You are so wrong, brother," Castiel told him. "It all matters."

Fizzles' Folly

Crowley used magic to blow open the door, walking in, looking at Kevin. "You little prat. Having fun yet?" Kevin shrugged. "Am I seeing this? How did you figure it out?"

"It started when they forgot the secret knock," Kevin told him. "But, really, it--it was the way they acted. I don't think on their best day Sam and Dean would go into town and get me a barbecue dinner, not when there are leftover burritos in the fridge. Catty, Ness and Sabrina would go, definitely. But not Sam and Dean. And the way Sam was talking more like Dean... Demon!Sam was too cool. Demon!Dean was too nice. And the way that 'Catty' was being all overprotective over 'Sabrina'... that was a little too overprotective, even for Catty. I mean, Catty would let Sabrina go with Sam, Dean or Ness, and Catty's not that mean. Ness? Ness was too quiet. There was no babbling about things that the rest of us can't keep up with but Ness can. And Sabrina didn't ever, not once, used one of her nicknames for any of us. Sam's meathead, Dean's fruitcake, Ness is smoukie." He gestured to himself. "I'm airhead."

Crowley took all of this in. "Well, I'll be a son of a whore."

Two Rivers Hotel - Metatron's Hotel Room

Sabrina looked at Metatron. "Michael and Lucifer? T--Those--Those dudes are in the deep fryer."

"Yeah," Sam agreed, still talking loudly. "We put them there ourselves."

"What about Gabriel?" Metatron asked. "And Raphael?"

"Dead," Ness answered. "You really don't know this?"

"I've been very careful," Metatron told them.

Sam could still hear the loud ringing in his head. "Hey, can you--can you turn that down?"

"Turn what down?" Metatron asked. He looked at Sam in realization. "Oh. You're resonating."

"Resonating?" Catty repeated. "What--what do you mean, resonating?"

Metatron looked at Sam. "You've undertaken the Trials. You're trying to pull one of the great levers, aren't you? You're pretty far along, too. You get that far along, you start resonating with the Word. Or with its source on the material plan. With me."

"You said you were being careful," Dean told him. "Careful how?"

"I'm not one of them," Metatron told them. "I'm not an Archangel. Really more run-of-the-mill. I worked in the secretarial pool before God chose me to take down the Word. Anyway, He... seemed very worried about His work, what would happen to it when He left, so He had me write down instructions. Then, He was gone. After that, the Archangels took over." He pulled a chair, sitting down. "And they cried, and they wailed. They wanted their father back. I mean, we all did. But then... then they started to scheme. The Archangels decided if they couldn't have Dad, they'd take over the universe themselves. But they couldn't do anything that big without the Word of God. So I began to realize, maybe they would realize... they needed me."

"So, you get a ruffle in your feathers and just decide to disappear?" Dean asked. "Go stick your head in the sand, forever? You have no idea what's been going on out there?"

Metatron shook his head. "Nope. That's the whole point."

Castiel looked just as badly as he had had before. Si was pacing.

Ion had his back to Castiel. "You soldiers, down in the Garrison, at least they let you believe the lie. Upstairs, working for Naomi, working in intelligence, we had no option but to live in the dirt. She never reset me completely. I always knew too much. I had to--I had to do my job."

Ion grabbed Castiel by his trench coat, slashing into stomach and chest, but not enough to kill him, giving him a slow death as Crowley had told him to.

Octavia appeared behind Si, stabbing him in the back with the Angel Blade, killing him with a bright flash of light, taking it out, letting him fall. "Ion..." Ion turned to face Octavia, seeing Si dead on the ground, readying his own Angel Blade for a fight with Octavia, though she was still weak and beaten, nearly dead again. "Do you ever shut up?"

Ion slashed his Angel Blade toward Octavia. Octavia ducked. Ion tried to drive the blade through Octavia. Octavia pivoted to make him miss. She was still wounded from being shot by Crowley repeatedly, but not as wounded as what she had done to Castiel. Ion raised the blade to stab Octavia. Octavia blocked the move with her blade, twisting it, making them both spin away, facing each other. Octavia raised her blade to stab Ion. Ion used his block the move. Octavia spun, slashing the blade toward him. Ion used his to block the move. They tried the same move, ending up blocking each other. Ion tried to slash into Octavia. Octavia spun away to make him miss, turning to face him. Ion slashed the blade across her stomach, making Octavia groan in pain, Grace leaking out with blood. Ion raised his blade to try to stab her repeated. Octavia kept her blade raised to block him every time. Ion twisted his blade around hers, pulling it free, kicking her back, making Octavia spin through the air, to the floor and making her drop her Angel Blade.

Castiel watched worriedly, weakly. "Ava..."

Ion walked closer to Octavia, raising his blade to stake her. Castiel appeared behind Ion with the Angel Blade Octavia had dropped, stabbing Ion from behind, killing him, making him flash with bright white light. Octavia shielded her eyes. Castiel let Ion fall to the floor, looking at Octavia, breathing heavily.

Octavia raised her head, looking at Castiel, breathing heavily in relief. She used a nearby table to help her stand, looking at Castiel in front of her. "Cas?"

"Ava?" Castiel asked cautiously, as if asking if she was still under the Angels' control.

Octavia smiled a small smile. "I'm back." Castiel managed a smile. "I'm sorry, Cas."

Castiel shook his head. "Don't be."

Octavia took a deep breath, holding a hand over her stomach. "I lost the Tablet. Crowley... had me surrounded. Bastard shot me again. Twice. I'm not all the way back yet." Castiel nodded in understanding, nearly falling. Octavia caught him, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, helping Castiel stand, looking at the damage that she had did to him guiltily. "Let's get out of here."

Dean looked at Metatron incredulously. "So you have been holed up here, or--or--or in a wigwam, or before that in some cave, listening to stories, reading books?"

Metatron smiled. "And it was something to watch. What you brought to His earth, all the mayhem, the murder. Just the raw, wild invention of God's naked apes... It was mind blowing. But really... really, it was your storytelling. That is the true flower of free will. At least as you've mastered it so far. When you create stories, you become gods, of tiny, intricate dimensions unto themselves. So many worlds. I have read... as much as it's possible for an Angel to read, and I haven't caught up."

Sam stood, holding Octavia's Angel Sword. "You know what? I should put this up where the sun doesn't shine, you cowardly piece of garbage."

"Uncle Sam," Sabrina told him. "Sammy!"

Sam used Octavia's Angel Sword to point at Metatron. "All the time you've been hiding here, how much suffering have you read over? Humanity's suffering. And how much of it has been at the hands of your kind? How much of it has been Angel against Angel? How many people we've lost because of Demons and Angels? Like Octavia. Ava's dead because of an Angel, a friend she trusted, worked with the King of Hell, to manipulate Catty and Castiel into having Sabrina. Because Ava was close to figuring out what they had been doing with the Levis, trying to stop them. And Ava was killed because of it. That's Ava's story."

Sabrina pushed Sam back. "Come here. Hey."

Sam tried to resist. Sabrina used more strength to pull him back.

Ness stood, looking at Metatron. "You want another story other than Ava's story? Try Kevin Tran's story. He was just a kid. He was a good, straight-A kid, and then he got sucked into all of this--this Angel crap. He became a Prophet, of the Word of God. Your Prophet. Now, you should've been looking out for him, but no. Instead you're here, holed up, reading books."

"He's dead now," Sabrina told him. "Because of you."

Fizzles' Folly

Kevin looked at Crowley. "You know the Winchesters are up to the third Trial? That they're gonna shut the door on Hell?"

"I'm not worried, kid," Crowley told him.

Kevin picked up the Demon Tablet. "You have no idea what's on this Demon Tablet. Right, the power you could have gotten with this, if you weren't running around like a chicken with his head cut off."

"You think I can't make you tell?" Crowley asked.

"I know you can't," Kevin told him. "And you do too."

"You know what?" Crowley asked. "I've already won. I have the Angel Tablet, you little smudge. And I got deals and plans to take Catty and Sabrina Winchester up the jacksie." He gripped Kevin by his throat. "And I don't. Need. You!"

Crowley pushed Kevin against the wall, strangling him. Kevin eyes started to glow white. Increasingly bright white light emanated from Kevin. Crowley was thrown back against the wall, hands and face burned.

Kevin laid unconscious in one of the chairs. Sabrina knelt on the floor next to Kevin, putting her hand to his chest, a white light emanating from her hand as she healed him. The bruises around Kevin's neck faded away.

"Is that it?" Ness asked. "Is he good?"

"Give him a minute," Metatron told them, walking away.

Catty followed Metatron. "How did you get past Crowley's Angel-Warding?"

"I'm the Scribe of God," Metatron told her. "I erased it."

"But you saw, right?" Catty asked. "I mean, you--you're caught up on everything that's been going on. All the crap that your brethren's been doing to Humanity all this time?"

"I saved the boy, didn't I?" Metatron replied.

"But are you in?" Catty asked. "With us, I mean."

"You really intend on closing the doors of Hell?" Metatron asked.

"Seems like the thing to do, don't it?" Catty asked.

"Are you really sure doing the right thing is all that's in it for you, Catty?" Metatron asked. Catty hesitated, looking toward Sabrina. Sabrina was kneeling on the floor between standing Sam, Dean and Ness and unconscious-in-a-chair Kevin, looking at Kevin, waiting for him to wake up. "You know that closing the Gates of Hell will eliminate the Demon part of Sabrina. Which strips away most of Sabrina's temptation, but not all." Catty looked at Metatron. "It's your choice. And that's what this has all been about. The choices your kind make. But you're gonna have to weigh that choice. Ask yourself, 'What is going to take to do this, and what will the world be like, and what will Sabrina be like after it's done?'"

"We're on the run from Demons, monsters and Angels," Catty told him. "And Demons are the ones that haven taken everything from us. It's not just about Sabrina. But if it helps save her, then all the more to do it."

"And you're sure that Sabrina's father agrees with you?" Metatron asked.

Catty nodded. "Yes."

"Mom?" Sabrina called.

"Catty!" Ness told her.

Catty walked toward them to see that Kevin was starting to come around. "Kevin? Hey."

Kevin smiled tiredly.

Sabrina smiled, embracing Kevin. "We thought we lost you, airhead."

Kevin smiled tiredly, patting Sabrina's shoulder. "I'm good." Sabrina pulled away. Kevin sat up weakly, pulling out the broken piece of the Tablet. "Second half of the Tablet. And I got it. Third Trial. I didn't tell Crowley."

Sabrina smiled.

"So what is it?" Dean asked.

"To cure a Demon," Metatron answered.

"Yeah," Kevin agreed. He hesitated, looking at Metatron. "Who are you?"

Night - On the Road

The Impala drove down the road.

  §

The Impala

Dean was driving. Sam was in the passenger seat. Catty, Sabrina and Ness were in the backseat.

"Cure a Demon," Dean told them. He looked at Sam. "Okay, ignoring the fact that I have no idea what that actually means, if we--if we do this, you get better, right? I mean, you stop trying to cough up a lung, and--and--and bumping into furniture?"

"I feel better, yeah," Sam told them. "Um, just having a direction to move in."

"Well, good," Ness told him. "'Cause where we're headed doesn't sound like a picnic."

Sabrina smiled a small smile. "But we're heading somewhere. The end."

Sabrina smiled, looking at Catty. Catty smiled a small smile, holding Sabrina's hand. Dean braked abruptly. Catty, Sabrina and Ness looked forward to see two figures in the middle of the road.

§

Outside

The Impala swerved, the headlights illuminating the figures, revealing it to be a still bloodied and weak Castiel and Octavia. Octavia was trying to keep them both standing, Castiel's arm over her shoulder, having her head hung down to look at her wounded stomach. The Impala skidded to a halt. Sam, Catty, Sabrina, Dean and Ness got out of the car.

"Dad?" Sabrina asked.

"Cas?" Catty asked worriedly.

"Catty..." Castiel trailed off weakly. "Sabrina..."

Catty and Sabrina started to walk closer worriedly to help Cas. Octavia looked up weakly, breathing heavily.

Sam, Catty, Dean and Ness looked at Octavia in shock, voices whispers. "Ava?"

Octavia took a deep breath. "Surprise. You didn't think I'd stay dead, did you? That doesn't sound like me." Sabrina was in shock, confused. "A little help here?"

Everyone was astonished. Castiel and Octavia could barely stand. Sabrina and Catty walked toward Castiel worriedly, holding him standing, supporting him.

"Cas?" Catty asked. "You okay?"

Castiel nodded weakly.

Sam helped steady Octavia, holding her standing, looking as if he thought her being alive again was too good to be true. "Ava?"

Octavia chuckled weakly, nodding. "Yeah, Sam. I'm back."

Octavia fell unconscious due to the amount of Grace and blood she had lost due to Crowley, still weakened from having just been brought back from the dead.

Sam held Octavia standing, picking her up so she didn't fall, holding her worriedly. "Ava?"

Dean and Ness walked closer to Castiel, Sabrina, Catty, Sam and Octavia to make sure they were okay. They were all looking at each other in shock, astonishment.
