chapter 10 - Torn and Frayed

Outfits in the external link

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in the woods, A young and woman were asleep in a tent. A bright light appeared outside. Will heard something, turning around, gasping. Dean and Ness stood there, bloodstained and filthy.

Catty: (voice over from 8.01 We Need to Talk About Sabrina) "You're freaking alive."

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in Rufus' Cabin's kitchen, Dean, Ness, Catty and Sam stood together.

"Well, I guess standing too close to an exploding Levi..." Dean trailed off.

From 7.23 "Survival of the Fittest", in the Glass Room, Castiel pulled Dick's head back. Ness plunged the bone sideways through his neck, making him yell, scream in pain. Sam and Kevin ran into the room behind Catty and Young Sabrina. Sam turned to cover Kevin. Catty covered Young Sabrina, all of them ducking to the floor. Dick exploded into black goo, surrounding them.

From 7.23 "Survival of the Fittest", in Purgatory, Castiel, Ness and Dean stood in the woods.

Dean: (voice over from 8.01 We Need to Talk About Sabrina) "Sends your ass straight to Purgatory."

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in Rufus' Cabin's kitchen, Dean, Ness, Catty and Sam stood together.

"You were in Purgatory?" Sam asked. "For the whole year? Well, how'd you get out?"

THE ROAD SO FAR

(Song:) Katmandu - Bob Seger

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in Purgatory's wilderness, Dean picked up the Vampire's weapon, beheading him with it, killing him. Another Vampire yelled, running toward Dean, tackling him to the ground, holding him against the ground, trying to feed. Dean unsuccessfully reached for his Purgatory weapon. Benny appeared, tackling the second Vampire to the ground, beheading him with his own weapon. He turned to looked at Dean, his Vampire teeth descended.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in Purgatory's wilderness, Dean, Castiel and Ness hurried along the top of the cliff upward through the forest. Something hit the ground in clouds of black smoke in front of them. As the smoke cleared, two balls of black goo morphed into Leviathans. Dean swung his Purgatory Ax at Leviathan 1. Leviathan 1 ducked, pushing Dean down the hill. Castiel tried to put a hand on Leviathan 1's head. Leviathan 2 kicked the back of Castiel's legs, making him fall to his knees, punching him in the face. Leviathan 1 continued to punch and kick Castiel, making him fall to the ground. Ness swung her Purgatory Machete at Leviathan 2. Leviathan 2 ducked, gripped the blade between her hands, pulling it up between them only to throw it out of their grasps. She grabbed Ness, transforming. Dean appeared behind Leviathan 2, decapitating her, letting the body fall. Ness grabbed her machete from the ground. Castiel pushed Leviathan 1 forward. Dean tried to decapitate him. Leviathan 1 caught the weapon. Ness swung down through his neck, beheading him. They let the body fall.

From 8.02 "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?", in the Vampire's Nest, There were flashes of Vampires feeding from Ness, having her nearly dead, and several Vampires having Ness pinned against a tree, rock or ground, looking at her intently, feeding from her neck, some looking as if they weren't biting her, but kissing her roughly, pushing back her hair, pulling at her black tank top and shorts, becoming more and more rough. One grabbed her by the back of her head, moving forcefully, pushing back the leg of her black shorts. Ness was too weak, too close to death to stop them.

Ness: (voice over from 8.07 A Little Slice of Kevin) "If I slow down, then I'll start thinking about it, and I don't want to think about it. Even though it's the only thing I can think about half the time."

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the motel room on the girls' side, Ness was sitting on one bed. Catty was lying on the other. Sabrina was asleep, nestled in against Catty.

"The worst thing is not what happens," Catty told her. "It's what you have to live with after the damage is done. But at least you know where to stop yourself. And at least you have one thing that I didn't at the time."

"And what's that?" Ness asked.

"Someone to love," Catty answered. "Someone to love you. Someone that has done and will do everything and anything for you. Someone that'll help you get through this."

Ness looked through the double doors toward Dean in Sam's side. Dean looked toward Ness. Ness smiled a small smile.

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", outside Guidry's Cajun Cafe, Dean and Ness were sitting on the bench.

Ness gazed off. "Sam was right, and Catty was right. I was running. But now I'm tired of running. I'm not gonna lie. I still think about it, every day. It's like it's been seared into my brain. And at night, the 'mares... sometimes it's like... it's like I'm still there. Like it's still happening." Dean looked at her somberly. Ness closed her eyes, letting a tear fall. "The worst thing is what comes after." She looked at Dean, tears in her eyes. "And it's far from over."

Dean wrapped an arm around Ness. Ness relaxed into his arms.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in Purgatory's wilderness, Dean and Benny gripped each other's left arms with their left hands. Benny looked upward, his body stiffening. His left hand glowed with red and white light. He appeared to be consumed by red and white light that flowed into Dean's arm, making him groan in pain.

From 8.05 "Blood Brother", in Purgatory's wilderness, A Vampire was standing ready. Ness was standing behind him with Purgatory Machete in hand. The Vampire turned to face her, gripping her shoulders, turning around, turning around, pushing her into a tree behind her, Vampire teeth descending. Ness pushed away from the tree, using the machete to turn the Vampire toward the tree, pushing him against it, pushing the blade through his neck, decapitating him, killing him.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in Purgatory's wilderness, The portal shimmered with moving blue light. Dean and Ness reached the portal, stepping into the bright blue, moving light. They each held a hand toward Castiel. The portal pushed Castiel back, making him fall a long distance away. The portal closed, taking Dean and Ness with it.

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", on the Lafitte property, Dean and Ness started to dig until they dug up the uncovered bones in the grave. Dean held his arm, lowering himself into the grave, rolling up his left sleeve. His forearm was glowing red, pulsing. He cut his left arm with a large knife, holding his arm out over the grave. Red glowing liquid dripped from his arm onto the bones.

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in Rufus' Cabin, Sam, Dean and Ness were standing together. Dean and Sam were smiling, embracing. Sam pulled away, looking at Ness. Sam and Ness smiled, embracing. Dean wrapped his arms around Catty tightly. Catty smiled, returning the gesture. Dean knelt in front of Sabrina, embracing her, pulling away. Ness and Catty embraced happily, closing their eyes, pulling away. Ness knelt in front of Sabrina, smiling, embracing Sabrina.

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in the warehouse, Kevin continued to prepare the spell. He smiled, dropping the match. The match fell into the bowl. Flames flared up. The spell exploded toward the Demons, burning them away, throwing them back into the wall.

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in the church, Sam stabbed Demon 3 in the back with Octavia's Angel Sword, killing him, making him flash with bright light, taking it out, letting him fall to the floor. Demon 4 stepped toward Sabrina, grabbing her arm. Sabrina kicked his knee with her super strength, breaking it, making him kneel to the floor in front of her, placing her hand on his head, trying to smite him, making his head burst into white flame instead, making him scream. Demon 4 screamed until he died. Ness held her Purgatory Machete to Demon 2's neck from behind, restraining him, making him face Catty. Catty drove Catty's Knife into Demon 2's heart, killing him, making him flash with red, taking the knife out. Ness let Demon 2 go, letting him fall to the floor. Dean caught Catty's Knife, stabbing Demon 1 in the heart, killing him, making him flash with red, pulling the knife out, letting him fall to the floor. Sabrina waited until Channing and Crowley were close enough to touch her, pulling on a rope nearby, activating a booby trap of Holy Water, making a bucket dump it all over herself and them, making their skin burn and sizzle and scorch, making all three of them scream. Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness were let off the wall, nearly falling to the floor.

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", outside the church, Black smoke poured from Channing's mouth.

From 8.02 "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?", in the auction room, Linda's eyes turned red. Linda/Crowley used magic to push Sam, Dean and Ness away from them, making Sam fall over a table to the floor, making Dean fall to the floor, making Ness hit the wall and fall to the floor. While Beau was distracted, Ness came out of hiding. Beau tried to shoot Ness. Ness ducked, rolling over the floor, standing in front of him, spinning to kick the gun out of his hands with a crescent in-to-out kick.

From 8.02 "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?", in the warehouse's main room, Dean caught Linda/Crowley, pushing her/him against the wall, holding Catty's Knife against her/his throat. Ness, Catty, Sabrina and Kevin ran closer.

Sabrina stopped running, glaring at Linda/Crowley, concentrating. "Get out of her!"

Red smoke poured from Linda's mouth.

From 8.02 "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?", in the Tran House, The Demon started to smoke out of Eunis. Sabrina kicked Eunis' knee, making her fall to her knees. Sabrina was now able to reach the Demon smoke that was pouring out of her mouth, pushing the smoke back into Eunis' body. She let Eunis go. "Get out of her."

The Demon was exorcised from Eunis' body, making her scream, the smoke blowing through the fireplace, going to Hell. Kevin put his arms around Linda as she watched in horror. Eunis fell unconscious.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in Catty's Mustang, Catty overtook the man. Sabrina turned to see that the man in the trench coat was Castiel, still having a beard and wearing pajamas underneath the coat.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the motel room on the girls' side, Ness was sleeping in the other bed. Sabrina was sleeping against Catty. Catty looked toward the window. Castiel was standing in the window outside, drenched from the rain.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the motel room's bathroom, Catty looked at Castiel in shock, looking as if she didn't know if this was real or not. "Cas?"

Castiel nodded. Catty slowly, cautiously put a hand on Castiel's arm. She smiled in shock, pulling Castiel into her arms. They smiled small smiles. Castiel returned the embrace contently.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the motel room on Sam's Side, Sabrina looked hesitant, standing, slowly walking toward Castiel, standing in front of him, looking up at him, not knowing what he would want her to do. Castiel gave her a reassuring, small smile. Sabrina wrapped her arms around Castiel, relaxing in his arms. Castiel looked at Catty. Catty looked as if she wasn't under as much pressure as she was before, seeing Castiel and Sabrina like this. It looked as if she felt like she could finally relax and breathe.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the motel room on Sam's side, Sabrina and Castiel were sitting at the table. Ness leaned on the kitchenette counter. Sam sat on the bed. Dean was standing nearby. Catty was pacing slowly.

Dean looked at Castiel. "How the hell did you make it out?"

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in Heaven, in Naomi's Office, Castiel was standing in a brightly lit room, looking around in confusion.

Naomi was sitting behind the desk. "Hello, Castiel. My name is Naomi. We rescued you."

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in the warehouse, Kevin was reading from the Demon Tablet. "Hell Gates."

From 8.01 "We Need to Talk About Sabrina", in the church, Kevin, Ness, Dean, Sam, Catty and Sabrina were gathered.

"What about Hell Gates?" Catty asked.

"The Tablet told me all the stuff about closing the Gates of Hell," Kevin told them. "Forever. It even said something about Sabrina. How that if we close the doors, Sabrina won't be a Demon anymore."

Sabrina started to get excited, looking at Catty. Catty looked down at Sabrina. Sabrina smiled widely, bouncing on her heels.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in Naomi's Office, Naomi looked at Castiel. "Tell me about Catty and Sabrina."

"Sabrina is powerful but untaught," Castiel told her. "Catty asked if I could teach Sabrina so she will know how to defend herself against the beasts that keep coming for them."

From 8.08 "Hunteri Heroici", in Naomi's Office, Naomi looked at Castiel. "I can help you teach Sabrina more." Castiel looked at her in confusion. "She'll ask to stay with you, for you to teach her. Bring her here so we can begin. But, Castiel... Be sure to let Sabrina believe it is her idea."

From 8.08 "Hunteri Heroici", in Sunset Fields Retirement Home's dayroom, Sabrina looked at Castiel. "I want you to teach me."

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", outside the warehouse / factory, Castiel and Catty stood next to the trunk of the Impala.

"Catty, everything isn't your responsibility," Castiel told her. "Protecting Sam, getting me, Ness and Dean out of Purgatory wasn't your responsibility. We found our way. These things that are happening, it's neither your responsibility or your fault. It's something that happened to you and Sabrina that you're trying to protect us from when you're the one that needs protection. It's not just Sabrina that they are after. They are after you to get to Sabrina, either to take you with her to make her listen, or to kill you just to take Sabrina."

"I know, Cas," Catty told him. "I've lived it."

"Then why won't you let anyone protect you?" Castiel asked.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the warehouse / factory, Catty held onto the chains to keep herself from falling to the floor, looking over her shoulder to see another Demon behind her, turning, kicking him in the face with both feet, the knife still in hand, pulling herself up, swinging down to kick Demon 2 in the chest with more force, making him fall to the floor, jumping down from the chains, kneeling next to Demon 2 to stab him in the heart with Catty's Knife, killing him, making him flash with red.

Catty: (voice over from 8.07 A Little Slice of Kevin) "Because I'm used to protecting others. I was used to thinking that I could always save myself and save everyone else. That's why I can't."

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", outside the warehouse / factory, Castiel and Catty stood next to the trunk of the Impala.

Castiel sighed. "You can't save everyone, Catty. Though, you try. Now it's time to let someone help you protect Sabrina and let someone help protect you."

Catty didn't answer, looking down.

From 8.06 "Southern Comfort", in Amelia's motel room, Sam and Amelia were in bed together. Amelia had her head on Sam's chest.

Sam: (voice over from 8.06 Southern Comfort) "Her name's Amelia Richardson."

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", outside Sam and Amelia's House, Sam was sitting on the porch steps, throwing a ball for Riot. Amelia sat next to Sam on the steps.

Sam: (voice over from 8.06 Southern Comfort) "She and I had a place together in Kermit, Texas."

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in Sam and Amelia's bedroom, Sam was packing a bag.

Amelia arrived in the doorway. "What are you doing?"

"I'm, uh..." Sam trailed off, clearing his throat. "I'm leaving."

"What?" Amelia asked.

"I'm just trying to do the right thing here," Sam told her. "I'm gonna do what I should have never stopped doing. Don was still out there. So are Catty and Sabrina. I just gotta find them."

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", outside the Richardson House, Sam walked around the back of the house, having his gun raised, looking around a corner, looking through a window. Don was watching TV. Amelia walked closer with a beer, joining Don on the couch, sitting very close to him with a hand on his leg. Don put his arm around Amelia. Don and Amelia looked at each other, smiling.

Sam: (voice over from 8.09 Citizen Fang) "You and Don deserve a chance."

From 8.02 "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?", in the warehouse's main room, Catty looked at Samandiriel, looking over the fast food outfit skeptically. "You're an Angel?"

"My name is Samandiriel," Samandiriel told them.

"Sama—" Sabrina started, shaking her head. "Let's just stick with Alfie. Do the Angels think I'm evil?"

"They think that you're more than 'the perfect beast'," Samandiriel told her. "We think you're a prophecy child."

"What do the Angels believe?" Catty asked.

"We believed that Sabrina would have been turned into a weapon if she had remained in Crowley's hands," Samandiriel answered. "Now Sabrina is in yours, we believe she can be saved."

Samandiriel walked away, leaving. Catty looked at Sabrina. Sabrina looked up, not knowing what to make of that, either.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the warehouse / factory, Demon 1 raised a hand toward Castiel, making him back away. Castiel powered through, putting a hand on Demon 1's head, smiting him, killing him with a flash of bright white light, letting him fall to the floor.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the prison room, Castiel emanated with bright white light. His eyes glowed blue from within. The light coming from Castiel intensified. Shadows of Castiel's unfurling wings appeared on the wall behind him.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the prison room, Crowley and Kevin were sitting. Kevin was reading the Demon Tablet.

"There are more Tablets?" Crowley asked.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the prison room, Crowley reached for the Demon Tablet on the table, picking it up. Castiel used a fist to smash the Tablet into two pieces, shattering the glass table, making one half of the Demon Tablet fall to the floor. Crowley still held the other half of the Tablet, disappearing, leaving.

Crowley: (voice over from 8.07 A Little Slice of Kevin) "More than 'Leviathan' and 'Demon"?"

From 8.05 "Blood Brother", in the abandoned house, The floor boards with the Devil's Traps started to creak and break, making it a free for all. A Demon pushed Catty to the floor, pinning her, having her a beaten, bloody mess. Catty looked toward her knife on the floor behind her head, out of reach.  A Demon pushed Sam against the wall, having him a beaten, bloody mess. Sam used Octavia's Angel Sword to stab him in the heart, making him flash with bright light, taking it out, letting him fall. Catty kicked her leg out, making the Demon fall to the floor next to her, rolling into a kneeling position, straddling the Demon, grabbing her knife as she did, driving it into his heart, killing him, making him flash with red. Catty stood weakly, reaching behind her to Young Sabrina. The house around them started to shake, slowly at first, more violent with each second that past, as if the house was going to crumble down around them with them inside. Young Sabrina grabbed Catty's arm, reaching toward Sam, already taking them away. Another Demon ran toward them, pulling Sam away.

Young Sabrina turned after them. "No!"

Young Sabrina, Catty and Sam disappeared, but not together. The house started to crumble down around the Demons left inside.

From 8.05 "Blood Brother", lakeside, Young Sabrina was standing in front of Catty. Catty exhaled shakily, kneeling in front of Young Sabrina. Young Sabrina looked at Catty for a moment, showing how scared she was, nodding small, barely noticeable nods. She had tears in her eyes. Catty and Young Sabrina embraced sadly. Young Sabrina started to cry. Catty stroked her hair soothingly, having tears in her own eyes, trying to be strong for Young Sabrina. Catty looked up toward the sky, as if she was asking for help, looking as if she had no idea how to do this.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the prison room, Crowley was torturing Samandiriel with an Angel Blade, making him scream.

From 8.07 "A Little Slice of Kevin", in the warehouse / factory, Sam looked at the male Demon in front of him. Dean looked at the male Demon in front of him. Ness looked at the female Demon in front of her.  The Demons walked closer from all sides. Sam, Dean and Ness took out bottles, throwing them at the Demons in front of them, ducking for cover. Bright light flared from the bombs, making the Demons burn away with the light, disappearing. The shadows were burnt into the wall behind them.

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in the woods, Sam's phone buzzed. He pulled it out, looking at the text: From: Amelia Richardson: Sam, I need your help. Come quick.

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", Sam, Catty and Dean's phone call (bar in Kermit and the Impala.)

"Swapping Amelia's phone out with a burner, sending a distress signal..." Sam trailed off, scoffing. "You got me good. When did you do it?"

"While back, in case I needed it," Dean answered. Catty gave Dean a look. "Looks like I made the right call."

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in the woods, The man was dead, his throat ripped out.

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in Mill Creek, Benny was the one holding the phone, looking down at the ground. A woman's bloodstained body laid in front of him. There was a Vampire bite on her neck.

Sam: (voice over from 8.09 Citizen Fang) "These are innocent lives we're talking about."

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in Martin's motel room, Ness knew Martin and Sam wouldn't listen to her or Dean. "We just need some time, Catty."

"Oh, yeah," Martin told them sarcastically. "Leave the decision to the mother of Sabrina, a monster spawn." Catty gave him a look, wondering how he knew. She looked at Sam, knowing he was the only one who could have told him. Sam looked away. "And let the fang take another life? I don't think so."

Catty ignored him, irritated with Sam at the moment for telling Martin about Sabrina, looking at Dean and Ness. "How much time do you need?"

"You're not actually considering this?" Martin asked. "Oh, wait. You're already letting another monster walk and talk instead of dealing with Sabrina the right way, so letting a Vamp go shouldn't come as too much of a surprise."

Catty stood, stepping closer to Martin. "First of all, my brother should've never told you about Sabrina." She gave Sam a look. Sam looked down. Catty looked at Martin. "Second, leave her out of this. She hasn't hurt anybody."

Later, Sam looked at Dean and Ness. "And you're willing to risk that on Benny's word alone?"

"Damn right we are," Ness answered.

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in Guidry's Cajun Cafe, Elizabeth was tied to a chair.

Martin was behind Elizabeth, gripping her shoulder, looking at Benny. "Lay down your arms, you unholy thing!"

Benny turned away. His fangs descended. He retracted his fangs. He turned to face Martin and Elizabeth sadly. "What do you want?"

"I want your head..." Martin trailed off, pulling out a machete with the hand not holding the knife. "On a stake."

Benny slowly nodded, walking toward the counter, laying his head down. Martin lunged at Benny with the machete.

Elizabeth cried. "No!"

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", outside Guidry's Cajun Cafe,  Elizabeth was sitting on the steps outside the cafe, her hands shaking. Ness, Catty and Dean got out of the car, walking toward her. Ness took a cloth out of her pocket, sitting next to Elizabeth, putting the cloth to the bleeding cut on her neck, trying to stop the bleeding. Elizabeth started to cry. Ness embraced Elizabeth comfortingly.

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in Guidry's Cajun Cafe, Dean and Catty walked across the cafe separately. Martin's dead body was on the floor in a large pool of blood. His bloody knife laid next to him. His neck was badly mauled. Dean and Catty exchanged a look.

Sam: (voice over from 8.09 Citizen Fang) "Is it done?"

From 8.09 "Citizen Fang", in the Impala, Dean was sitting in the driver's seat.

Catty was sitting in the passenger seat, holding the burner phone on speaker. "Yeah, it's done."

"Any casualties?" Sam asked.

"Martin," Catty answered.

Sam took this in, frustrated. "Was it Benny?"

"He had it coming, Sam," Dean told him. "We'll tell you what happened."

"I—I know what happened, Dean," Sam told him.

"Okay, you want to listen to us or not?" Catty asked.

Sam hung up angrily.

  Day One

Morning - Warehouse - Prison Room

Samandiriel was bound to a chair in a room with Angel-proofing, chained to the chair. His face and his Wiener Hut uniform were covered in blood. A metal pick protruded from his forehead. He could hear footsteps from outside the room. He grimaced in pain, using magic to push the pick from his forehead. "Naomi. Naomi, Crowley has me."

The door opened.

A Demon wearing a white doctor's coat and a bow tie walked in, walking up behind Samandiriel, leaning over him. "Ah, ah, ah. Been on Angel Radio, have we?"

"No, uh..." Samandiriel trailed off.

"Don't lie to me, Alfie," the Demon told him, walking around Samandiriel to stand in front of him.

"I'm not lying," Samandiriel told him. "Please, I wouldn't lie to you."

"Oh, Alfie," the Demon told him. "After all these weeks together... I mean, how--how I wish that were so." He picked up the metal pick from the floor. "Now we're going to have to turn off that signal... again."

"No," Samandiriel told him. "No! No!"

The Demon pushed the pick back into his forehead, making Samandiriel scream in pain.

There was a closeup of the door of Room 118.

Motel Room

Sam was sitting on a couch drinking a bottle of beer. There was a knock on the door. Sam stood, hesitating. He opened the door to see Dean and Catty, looking angry, partly closing the door, stopping himself, opening the door fully.

Catty walked past him into the room. "Who did you expect?"

Dean walked in.

Sam closed the door behind them. "Long drive."

"Well, we wouldn't have had to make it if you hadn't have hung up on us," Dean told him.

"Yeah, well, I heard all I needed to hear," Sam told them.

"No, you heard wanted to hear," Catty told him. "Dean and Ness told us Benny wasn't killing. Benny wasn't lying. Hell, we helped us end the fangbanger that was."

"How about Martin?" Sam asked. "How did he end that?"

"Stupid," Dean answered. "Just like I said it would. Crazy son of a bitch didn't give Benny a choice. It was self-defense."

"Seriously, Dean?" Sam asked. "That's the story you're going with? That the Vampire was the real victim here?"

"Hey, like it or not, that's the truth, okay?" Catty asked. "There was a time when that actually meant something."

"Yeah," Sam agreed. "Yeah. No kidding."

"What does that mean?" Catty asked.

"You think this is just about Benny?" Sam asked.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Dean asked.

"What the hell do you think I'm talking about?" Sam asked.

"Amelia?" Dean asked. "Oh, come on, man. I sent you that text 'cause I needed you to—to—"

"You needed me to what?" Sam asked. "To tear ass to Texas? To be afraid that what happened to Jessica, what happened to Ava, what happened to Brett..." Catty looked down. "What happened to everybody that we care about might have happened to her?"

"You were gonna kill Benny," Dean told him. "What was I supposed to do?"

"Is that what we are?" Sam asked. "You save a Vampire by making me believe that Amelia might be dead?"

"What do you want to hear, Sam?" Catty asked. "That Dean was wrong? Fine. Dean was wrong. Okay? But if you'd have just heard Dean and Ness out, if you'd have trusted them, all of this could have been avoided."

"Dean and Ness didn't want me to trust them, Catty," Sam told her. "They wanted me to trust Benny, and I can't do that."

"And you know what?" Catty asked. "You sided with the hunter that kept talking about Sabrina as if she was some Anti-Christ that needed to be killed." Sam turned away, sighing. "What? Am I wrong?"

Sam turned to face Catty. "I wasn't going to let him hurt Sabrina. I never would have let that happened."

"No, you just let him keep talking about killing Sabrina, siding with him over me, Ness and Dean," Catty told him.

"I told him to stop, Catty," Sam told her. "After he knocked you, Dean and Ness out, I slammed him against the damn wall and told him to never speak of Sabrina again. I swear, I would never let anyone or anything hurt Sabrina."

Catty sighed, looking at Dean. "And you... the Amelia text, after what happened to Jessica, Ava for Sammy, Brett for me, that was cold, even for you, okay?" She looked between them. "Look, all I'm trying to say is that none of us were in the right here, and I'm trying to make both of you see that neither of you are exactly innocent, while I'm trying to make you see that I'm not either." She took a deep breath, letting it out. "Okay. Well, then, now that's settled, what the hell do we do now?"

"That depends," Sam told them. "It depends on Dean. On whether or not you and Ness are done with Benny."

"Well, honestly, I don't know," Dean told them.

"Okay, that also depends on whether or not you tell me everything," Sam told him. "Because Catty knows. Ness told her. Dean, why can't either of you tell me?"

"Because you don't need to know," Dean answered. Sam scoffed, shaking his head. "Sam, it has nothing to do with you, or anybody else. Ness told Catty because she needed help. If Ness wants to tell you, that's on her. But I'm not." Sam was slightly confused.  They gave each other one long look, having no idea what to do. "Glad we made the drive."

Dean walked past them, out of the room, leaving. Catty looked at Sam. Sam didn't respond. Catty scoffed softly, biting her lip, shaking her head, turning to follow Dean.

Whitefish, Montana

Day Two

Morning - Rufus' Cabin

Dean and Ness were lying on the couch. Dean had his arm around her.

Ness had her head on his chest, in pajamas. "You sent Sam a phantom text from his ex? Dick move, Dean."

"Yeah, not my finest hour," Dean told her.

"So, he found some normalcy with this chick, and now he's on the brink of losing it," Ness told him. "Again. Just like with Ava. When he promised Ava that he would live a long, happy life whether it was in hunting or if it was in a nice happy apple pie life. Well, he made the promise to real Ava and hallucination Ava. But now that promise is about to be broken. Nice going, Dean."

"Ness," Dean told her in defense. Ness smiled a small smile. "Trust me. This life... you can't afford outside attachments."

"And I'm not an outside attachment, right?" Ness asked. "I mean, I'm right there along with you for the ride."

"Exactly," Dean told her.

"You know, like Isaac and Tamara always used to say," Ness told him. "The family that slays together..." Dean chuckled. Ness looked up at him, leaning closer to kiss him, pulling away after a moment. Dean looked at her curiously. "What?"

Dean shook his head. "Nothing. Just... seems like things are okay."

"Not... okay," Ness admitted. "Getting there."

Dean smiled a small smile. "Good. I missed this Ness."

Ness smiled, kissing Dean more deeply than before. She pulled away, lying her head on his chest again. They both smiled small, content smiles.

Playground

Children were playing on the playground equipment. Sabrina was one of them, smiling. Castiel was standing further off, watching her, smiling.

A woman sat on a bench, holding a crying baby. "Shh. Shh. Shh. Shh."

Castiel walked closer. "She's been crying for two days." The woman nodded. "The doctors missed something. It's called an inguinal hernia. Very hard to detect."

Castiel put two fingers to the baby's forehead, healing her. The baby stopped crying. There was the sound of Angel wings. Castiel disappeared. The woman was holding the baby, relieved that she wasn't crying anymore. Sabrina was still playing on the jungle gym, smiling and laughing.

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Castiel had been brought here by Naomi.

Naomi was sitting behind her desk. "Castiel, we have a situation. Samandiriel has been captured."

"I thought Samandiriel was dead," Castiel told her.

"He's been missing, and now we know," Naomi told him. "Crowley has him."

"Where?" Castiel asked.

"His distress call cut out before I could pinpoint his exact location, but you will find him and you will bring him home," Naomi told him.

"Crowley will have warded against Angels this time," Castiel told her. "I'll need help getting in, but I am not letting Sabrina get involved. Not when it comes to Crowley. He would take Sabrina in a heartbeat. I won't let Sabrina be taken again."

"Very wise decision," Naomi told him. "I'd have Sabrina kept somewhere safe. This place is safe. When you're ready to do the siege, Sabrina will be best protected here. Otherwise, take whatever you need to help save Samandiriel. But you will be certain, Castiel, it was your idea to rescue him, not mine. Not Heaven's. Do you understand?"

Catty was sleeping on the bed. There was the sound of Angel wings. Catty was woke, opening her eyes.

Sabrina was standing in front of Catty, smiling. "Hi, Mom." She said the next sentence in a sing-song voice. "Mommy finally got some sleep."

Catty smiled, sitting up. "Sabrina. Come here." Sabrina wrapped her arms around Catty, smiling. Catty returned the embrace, looking behind her to Castiel. "Cas."

Castiel smiled a small smile. "Hello, Catty."

Catty pulled away. "How have you two been?"

"Sabrina's learning fast," Castiel told her. "But that's not what Sabrina and I are here to talk about."

Catty looked between them, sighing. "What's wrong?"

"Sabrina and I need your help, Catty," Castiel told her. "The Angel Samandiriel..."

"Sama—" Catty started.

"He's been taken," Castiel told her.

"Alfie, the wiener-on-a-stick kid from the auction," Sabrina told her.

Catty nodded. "Right. Alfie."

"Yes," Castiel agreed. "I, uh, I heard his distress call this morning."

"On what, Angel Radio?" Catty asked. "I thought you shut that down."

"Well, my penance by teaching Sabrina and other things, it's going well, and I thought it was time to turn it back on," Castiel told her. "I've, uh... been helping people, Catty. Teaching Sabrina to do the same."

"Well, good for you two," Catty told them, standing. "All right. So, who snatched Heaven's most adorable Angel?"

"Crowley," Sabrina answered.

Catty looked from Sabrina to Castiel. "I'm listening."

"Samandiriel is being held in the general vicinity of Hastings, Nebraska," Castiel explained.

"The general vicinity?" Catty repeated. "That's all you got?"

"Yes," Castiel answered. "Which is why we need your help. It seems this is gonna involve... talking to people."

Catty smiled. "Okay, I understand why Sow can't do it, but, come on, Cas. I thought you were a hunter now."

"Well, I thought so, too, but..." Castiel trailed off. "It seems I—I lack a certain—"

"Skill?" Sabrina finished.

Castiel knew she was teasing, tilting his head. "Sabrina..."

Sabrina smiled.

Catty gave Sabrina an amused look, walking past them to the table, sitting down at the laptop, opening it. "All right. What am I looking for?"

Catty typed in 'Nebraska News, Hastings' into a search engine. Sabrina stood behind Catty, looking over her shoulder to the laptop.

"Well, when you torture an Angel, it screams, and that kind of pain, it creates a ripple effect of strange incidents," Castiel explained. "Where are Sam, Dean and Ness?"

"We are taking separate vacations for the time being," Catty told them.

Castiel was frustrated but not at her. "Catty, you and Sabrina, especially Sabrina--"

Catty shook her head. "Cas, don't start with the whole protection thing, all right? Pretty sure they're pissed enough to not care. We'll, uh, find Sama—"

"Alfie," Sabrina told her.

Catty smiled a small smile. "We'll find Alfie ourselves." Sabrina smiled. The headline on the 'Lincoln Globe' website on the laptop read: Tornadoes, Strong Winds Cause Damage Across Nebraska. Catty read on. "Apparently, some guy got burned by exploding shrubs in Geneva, Nebraska." She looked at Castiel. "That sound like something Alfie would do?"

Castiel nodded.

Sam's Motel Room

A nature program played on a small, old TV. Sam sat on the couch, holding the TV remote.

Narrator: (on TV) "This charming little Dung Beetle makes his living upon the sands of Egypt. Here, billions of tiny particles, the remnants of ancient seas..." There was a knock on the door. "Are pushed ever higher by the relentless winds of the Sahara. This is where the Dung Beetle makes its living. The ancient Egyptians..."

Sam stood, walking toward the door, opening it.

Amelia was standing outside. "Look, last night at the bar, I just wanted to make sure it was you. You know..." She walked in. "Peeping in my window."

"Peeping?" Sam repeated. "You make it sound so, uh..."

"Stalker-ish?" Amelia finished.

Narrator: (on TV) "Therefore, the scarab..."

Sam turned off the TV. "Um..."

"Anyway, I ran out because he was leaving," Amelia told him. "He travels a lot since he's been back."

"Right, n--no, I--I get it," Sam told her. "You had someplace..."

"I had to be, yeah," Amelia finished. "Are we gonna have a whole conversation with me finishing your sentences? So, why are you here?"

"It's not what it looks like," Sam told her. "I--I thought you were in trouble, that you had... It doesn't matter. You're okay."

"I was okay," Amelia agreed. "You know, settled in... content. But here you are. What am I supposed to do with that?"

"Give me five seconds, and I'll be gone," Sam told her. "I didn't come here to make trouble for you. I--I came because..."

"You cared?" Amelia finished, stepping closer to Sam. "See that? I just did it again. Finished your sentence."

Sam nodded. "Yeah, I care."

"I care, too," Amelia told him.

Sam sighed. Amelia leaned closer to kiss him.

Warehouse - Prison Room

Samandiriel was still chained to the chair. The Demon in the white coat was adjusting a metal contraption on Samandiriel's head.

"I told you it was an accident," Samandiriel told him.

"Yes, of course," the Demon told him. "But now there shall be no more accidents. No more Angel Radio."

"Stop this, please," Samandiriel told him. "It's been..."

"Weeks, yes," the Demon finished. "We're almost there, though. I'm certain of it."

"I'm begging you!" Samandiriel told him.

"When we Demons possess a human, we invade all of them," the Demon told him. "Their, uh, their muscles, their bones, their brains. I can't help but wonder if it isn't the same for Angels."

"No," Samandiriel told him. The Demon screwed the metal pick into the contraption on Samandiriel's head, making him scream in pain. A glass beaker of what appeared to be blood shattered. The Demon smiled, continuing to screw in the pick, making him scream in pain. Samandiriel let a single tear fall. He seemed to go into a trance. "Vah-teh-kah-rah. Vah-teh-kah-rah."

Catty looked at the story, bringing up the police report and a picture of the victim. "Looks like this guy's name's Chris Hinkley. He got sent to Geneva General Hospital. Says he got burned from a flaming bush. All right." She closed the laptop. "Looks like we're going to Geneva, Nebraska."

Sabrina clapped her hands once, turning away. "Great. I wanna take us."

Catty stood. "Or we could just take the Mustang."

Sabrina turned to face Catty, shaking her head. "No, Mom, I wanna show you what I can do now. Please?"

Catty smiled, looking at Castiel.

Castiel shrugged slightly, smiling a small smile. "Sabrina's excited to show you, Catty. I can't blame her."

"Right," Catty agreed. "Yeah, I see that, Cas."

"Not after everything that you and Sabrina have both been through when Sabrina didn't know how to use her powers," Castiel told her. "Sabrina's excited to show you that she has more control now."

Catty chuckled, looking at Sabrina. "Okay."

Sabrina smiled, climbing up onto the counter, pointing at Castiel. "No helping me this time."

Castiel chuckled lightly. "All right. Sabrina, let's go."

Sabrina smiled, rubbing her hands together, putting two fingers to each Castiel and Catty's foreheads.

Geneva General Hospital - Hallway

Catty, Sabrina and Castiel appeared.

Catty looked around the hospital hallway, noticing the Geneva General sign on the wall nearby. She smiled, looking at Sabrina. "That's awesome."

"Awesome is Uncle Dean's word," Sabrina told her. "Uncle Dean's a fruitcake. Uncle Sam's a meathead. Aunt Ness' a smoukie."

"Smoukie?" Castiel repeated.

"Smart, tough cookie," Sabrina answered.

Castiel seemed amused. "Sabrina..."

"What?" Sabrina asked innocently.

Catty smiled. "Okay, just wait out here, okay?"

Sabrina nodded, sitting in a chair just outside a room, pointing inside the door. Catty turned to see Chris Hinckley lying in a hospital bed, his face badly burned, partly bandaged. She pulled a 'Press' ID badge out of her pocket, putting it onto her jacket, looking at Castiel, nodding for him to follow her. Castiel nodded.

Chris' Hospital Room

Catty knocked on the frame of the open door. "Mr. Hinckley?" Chris looked at them. Catty and Castiel walked in. "Hi. Uh, we're from the, uh, Geneva Gazette. I wanted to ask you a few questions about your ambush."

Catty chuckled lightly.

"Yeah, well..." Chris trailed off. "I'd laugh, too, if it didn't feel like the sun just ate my face."

Castiel looked at Catty. "It's a metaphor."

Catty nodded with slight sarcasm, looking at Chris. "Sorry. Uh, now, in the police report, it said that the, uh, the bush, it talked to you, yeah?"

"Yeah," Chris answered. "I know it sounds crazy, but, yeah."

"And what did it say?" Castiel asked.

"No clue," Chris told them. "Sounded like Klingon to me."

"Gonna need exact words," Catty told him.

"Are you serious?" Chris asked.

"That's Catty's serious face, yes," Castiel answered.

Catty glanced at Castiel in amusement, looking at Chris. "As much as you can remember, Mr. Hinckley."

"Sounded something like..." Chris trailed off, thinking. "Sol-voch. Yeah. Sol-voch-tay."

Hallway

Castiel and Catty walked out into the hallway. Sabrina stood.

Catty looked at Castiel. "Well, what do you think? Mean anything to you?"

"Yes," Castiel answered. "It's Enochian. It means 'obey'."

"Obey?" Sabrina repeated. "Obey what?"

"I don't know," Castiel told them. "But the amount of pain an Angel must be in not just to manifest through shrubbery but to burn... We have to find him before it's too late."

"Okay," Catty told him. "Okay, well, look, a sign like that, Alfie can't be too far, right? So we'll just start at the bush and work our way out."

"And look for what exactly?" Sabrina asked. "Crowley could have him anywhere."

"Well, if I know Crowley, the place will be swarming with Demons, so we'll just look till we see ugly," Catty told them.

Castiel sighed. "Sabrina, do Catty and I have to have another talk with you about--"

Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Yes, I know, I can't go in because Crowley wants to use me for evil instead of good." Castiel and Catty exchanged a look. Sabrina sighed. "Right."

Sabrina turned around, walking away down the hall. Castiel and Catty followed.

Dean and Ness stood outside of the Impala, standing at the open trunk, gathering weapons.

"Work, work, work," Dean told her. "Never got anytime to slow down. Seems to me like you're still running."

"Not running," Ness told him. "Restless. There's a difference." Dean tilted his head at Ness, raising his eyebrows. Ness hesitated, looking away. "Sort of."

Dean gave Ness a slightly amused look. "Ness." Ness smirked. "So, what is this thing?"

Ness pulled out a few news articles. "Uh, people all over town are claiming that they are speaking to the dead, but never actually seeing them, and the bodies of the vics found are shriveled, barely, but there's no other proof of foul play."

Dean narrowed his eyes. "We're dealing with a Crocotta, aren't we?"

"Most likely," Ness answered. "They, uh, can mimic the voices of the lost souls that are closest to you, then suck out your soul. They started out living in the woods, hanging on the edge of the night, waiting for someone to wander off alone, and then use that technique to lure them out so they could harvest their soul. But now, it's easier, surprisingly. I mean, all they have to do is make a phone call, and tell them that they're the ones they lost. And then keep and keep hounding until they kill themselves so they can finally take their souls. Technology keeps us all connected, but it also keeps us so alone. And that's why it's easier for them to pick us off one by one. But now they're almost extinct." She sighed."I looked for the best signs of filth, and I have a pretty good idea on where to go."

Dean nodded, grabbing a knife. "Silver knife, right?"

"To the back of the neck or the brain," Ness answered.  She took a silver knife, sliding it into her jacket sleeve. "Dean..." She turned to face Dean, smiling a small smile. "Let's help them get further on the endangered species list, shall we?"

Dean nodded. "Absolutely."

Ness smiled, pulling Dean closer into a kiss. Her phone rang. She pulled away from Dean, sighing in slight annoyance, pulling out her phone. Dean smirked at the reaction.

Ness looked at Dean in slight surprise, answering her phone, putting it on speaker. "Hey, I thought we told you to go underground."

Benny was standing in a park. "Hey, I am so far underground, I'm breathing through a straw. Uh, look... What happened with your friend Martin back there? It wasn't supposed to go down that way."

"We know," Ness told him. "Your granddaughter told us."

"You did this old dog a real solid, and, uh..." Benny trailed off. "The way you two stood up for me..."

"Well, shoe on the other foot, you would have done the same for us," Dean told him.

Benny smiled a small smile in agreement. "Yeah. I hate to ask for much else, but I don't suppose there's any chance you're anywhere near the Catskills?"

"Working a case on the other side of the country," Dean answered. "Why? What's up?"

"Yeah, just hitting a little rough patch, I guess," Benny answered. "You know, doing this whole solo thing."

"Benny, one day at a time, man," Ness told him.

"You know what?" Benny asked. "Uh, a cup of coffee sure would do me good."

"All right, as soon as the case is closed, we'll be there, okay?" Dean asked.

"Yeah," Benny answered. "All right. Thank you."

Ness hung up, looking at Dean. Dean smiled a small smile.

Ness nodded. "Let's get this done."

Dean grabbed a bag from the trunk of the Impala, closing the lid, gesturing for Ness to go. "Smartass, stubborn, intimidatingly brilliant ladies first."

Ness smiled, turning around, leading the way away. Dean smiled a small smile, following.

Sam was lying in bed, shirtless. "What would you like me to say? That was great? That was... a mistake?"

"I don't know," Amelia told him. "Both, I guess."

"I understand," Sam told her.

"Do you?" Amelia asked. "Do you understand I have a life here? A good man that loves me." She sat on the edge of the bed, facing Sam. "A man I don't want to hurt?"

"I know," Sam told her.

"And do you know you're the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning and the last thing before I go to sleep?" Amelia asked. "It's tough to let something like that go."

Sam gazed off, pushing his healed hand wound. "Yeah."

"Especially if you keep showing up here," Amelia told him.

"Are you saying you want me to leave?" Sam asked.

"I'm telling you that if you stay, against everything I believe in, I would be with you," Amelia told him. "But if you leave... don't come back. I can't have you with one foot in my life and one foot out there doing... whatever it is you do. That life of yours I have no idea about."

"You don't want to know about it," Sam told her. "Believe me. It's a big step."

"For me or you?" Amelia asked.

"Both," Sam answered. "I... need to think about this. You need to think about this."

"Okay," Amelia told him. "How about two days from now, around 7:30? I'll be off work then. One of us will be here, and we'll know. Neither of us will be here... and we'll know. Or both of us will be here... and we'll know."

"Wow," Catty told them. "Will you look at that? Our ninth abandoned factory. Ain't that America? Hey, what do you say, this doesn't pan out, we head back to that restaurant about a mile back, huh?"

Castiel looked at the men outside. "Catty. Sabrina. Wait. Those guys, they're Demons."

Catty looked through binoculars at the men standing around the drum, seeing another man on a balcony above them. "Crowley's got that many Hell monkeys outside, he's got to have at least double inside."

"And Angel Warding," Castiel added. "I can feel it. Sabrina, even if you tried to go in, you wouldn't be able to. It's like a Devil's Trap."

Sabrina nodded, looking away.

"Well, Cas, you, me, and a Demon knife ain't gonna cut it," Catty told him. She looked from Sabrina and Castiel. "You're gonna have to get Sam, Ness and Dean."

"But I thought you said—" Sabrina started.

"That we're having our issues," Catty finished. She tilted her head, correcting herself. "Well, Sam and Dean are the ones with the issues. Me and Ness are good. But I think this is a little more important than their fight."

"You can't stay here alone, Catty," Castiel told her.

Catty sighed, looking toward the abandoned building. "I know." She looked at Sabrina and Castiel. "You know, even if we do get Sam, Ness and Dean here, we're gonna need a lot more than one knife and Ava's Angel Sword."

Sabrina nodded in agreement.

"Slow read?" Catty asked.

"Slowest," Kevin answered.

"Where's Garth?" Sabrina asked.

"Supply run?" Kevin asked what sounded like a statement. "I don't know. Sort of lost track of when he comes and goes. You guys need help with something? I'm working here."

"You look horrible," Castiel told him.

"Yeah," Kevin agreed. "Thanks."

"He's right, airhead," Sabrina told him. "Are you okay, Kevin?"

"Fine," Kevin told them unconvincingly. "I'm just... in the middle of this."

"And?" Catty asked. "Any luck?"

"Interpreting half a Demon Tablet?" Kevin asked. "No. I got nothing."

"All right, well, buck up, 'cause, uh, we need some more of that Demon TNT ASAP," Catty told him.

"You used it all?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah," Catty answered.

"Catty and Sabrina had to," Castiel explained. "The one time we went to save you from Crowley wasn't the only time that we came across Demons. Catty and Sabrina had to use them in self-defense against them trying to take Sabrina."

"So let's whip up another batch," Sabrina told him.

"Sure," Kevin told her sarcastically. "West Bank Witch hazel, skull of Egyptian calf, the tail of some random-ass newt that may or may not be extinct—"

"All right, all right, I get it," Sabrina told him. "Ingredients are hard to come by, huh?"

"That's just the first three ingredients," Kevin told them.

"Give me the list," Castiel told him. "I'll get what we need."

Catty smiled a small smile. "Huh."

Kevin started making the list.

"Sabrina, while I'm getting the things for the Demon bomb, and Catty stays here, how do you feel about popping in on Sam, Ness and Dean and bringing them here?" Castiel asked. "Tell them that we need Ava's Angel Sword."

Sabrina smiled, disappearing, leaving.

Catty smiled. "That's my girl. Cas, how'd you teach her so much in such little time?"

Castiel shook his head. "I didn't teach Sabrina... everything, Catty. Just helped Sabrina build on what she already knew. I'll be back shortly."

Castiel disappeared, leaving.

"I've found something, sir," Viggo told him. "I need a translator."

"You're looking him," Crowley told him. "Show me."

Viggo twisted the metal pick in Samandiriel's forehead.

Crowley put on a apron.

Samandiriel was still in the trance, staring off vacantly. "Zoh-bah-leh-ta."

"What have we here?" Crowley asked.

"I think it's Enochian," Viggo told him.

"Of course it's Enochian, you pigeon," Crowley told him. "The question is, why is he speaking Enochian? What have you drilled into here, Viggo, huh?"

Crowley twisted the metal pick.

Samandiriel stared off vacantly. "Zoh-bah-leh-ta. Sah-teh-voch-leh."

Crowley knew what it meant. "Bollocks."

"What is it, sir?" Viggo asked.

"Well, what our feathered friend was uttering essentially was, 'You, celestial being, have been created to be an Angel of the Lord'," Crowley explained. "You've got into his operating system. His factory settings."

"From who?" Viggo asked. "God?"

"Who the hell cares where it comes from?" Crowley asked. "Let's find out what makes this flying monkey tick."

Crowley twisted the metal pick again, making Samandiriel scream.

Sabrina appeared behind the Crocotta, kicking his knee, making him fall to his knees, putting a hand on the back of his head, smiting him, killing him with a flash of bright white light, letting the body fall. "So, there are four main points of warding," Castiel explained. "North, south, east and west, and four Enochian symbols, like this..." He took Catty's hand, drawing a symbol onto her palm. "That you need to destroy before I can enter."

"Okay, so, what?" Dean asked. "We go in, take care of the Hell mooks, and you extract the Angel?"

"Yes," Castiel answered. "After killing so many, I need to save at least this one."

"Sounds like a plan," Sam told them.

"Okay," Catty told them, taking out Catty's Knife. "Let's do this."

"Wait," Castiel told them. "Here." He gave two Angel Blades to Ness and Dean. "These don't just work on Angels. They kill Demons, too."

"Yeah, Sabrina, Catty and I found that out by using Ava's sword to kill some mooks that were coming after Sabrina," Sam told them.

"Wait, Cas," Catty told him. "Where'd you get the other one?"

"I retrieved it, for Sabrina," Castiel answered. "In case Sabrina needs it to defend herself, from Demon and Angel alike. And you, Catty."

Catty smiled a small smile. "Thanks, Cas."

Castiel looked at Sam. "You'll need Ava's sword now."

Sam nodded, taking it out, looking at it sadly. "Yeah. Yeah, I got it. The only piece of Ava we have left."

They all looked at each other sadly. They walked toward the building. A Demon walked toward another Demon who was standing next to a fire burning in a 44-gallon drum. Catty stood on top of a short flight of stairs, whistling to get his attention. Demon 1 turned around, walking back to investigate, reaching the corner of the building to see Catty. Catty smiled, waving. Demon 1's eyes turned black. He walked closer to Catty. Ness stabbed Demon 1 from behind with her Angel Blade, killing him, making him flash with bright light, taking it out, letting him fall.

Catty looked at Ness, shrugging. "Well, not my most original work, but..."

Ness smirked, looking toward Demon 2. Demon 2 turned toward Ness angrily. Sam stood behind Demon 2, running him through with Octavia's Angel Sword, killing him, making him flash with bright light, taking it out, letting him fall. Dean stood next to the body, taking out keys from Demon 2's body, tossing them to Catty. Catty caught them, using them to unlock the door to the building next to her, leading the way inside.

Inside

Catty, Ness, Dean and Sam walked through the warehouse. Symbols were painted on the walls. Catty used spray paint to draw an "X" across a symbol like the one Castiel drew on her hand. Catty, Ness, Dean and Sam went to either sides of the cross-like hallway.

§

Prison Room

Samandiriel was still chained to the chair, screaming. Crowley tightened one of the screws on the metal contraption on Samandiriel's head.

Samandiriel was still in a chance, staring off vacantly. "Voh-meh-pah-rah-less. Voh-meh-pah-ray-less."

"What is it?" Viggo asked.

"That was Tablet talk," Crowley answered. "Protecting the Word of God seems to be hardwired into these dingbats."

Crowley turned one of the screws, making Samandiriel scream in pain.

§

Hallway

A Demon walked down a hallway. Samandiriel's screams could be heard. The Demon passed by, walking away, leaving. Catty stepped out into the same hallway, using spray paint to draw the symbol Castiel drew on her hand over the Enochian symbol on the wall.

§

Elsewhere

Ness walked along. A Demon saw Ness. Ness turned to face the Demon, smirking, holding her Angel Blade ready.

§

Elsewhere

Dean walked along. Sam walked in the opposite direction, spray-painting over another Enochian symbol. A Demon grabbed Sam from behind. Sam flipped him over his shoulder to the floor, kneeling down to stab him in the heart with Octavia's Angel Sword, killing him, making him flash with bright flash, taking the sword out. Another Demon jumped onto Sam's back from behind. Dean grabbed the Demon, stabbing it with his Angel Blade, killing him, making him flash with bright light, taking it out, letting him fall.

"Thanks," Sam told him.

"You're welcome," Dean told him.

Ness and Catty were standing nearby, having watched the entire thing. They exchanged a look, smirking.

"Come on," Ness told them.

Sam and Dean looked toward Ness and Catty. Ness nodded down the hall, gesturing for them to follow her. Sam stood. Ness, Catty, Sam and Dean walked along.

§

Prison Room

Crowley tightened one of the screws on the metal contraption on Samandiriel's head, making him groan in pain.

Samandiriel was still in the trance, gazing off vacantly. "Zod-leh-fah."

"Demon Tablet," Crowley told them. "Tell me one I don't know, huh?"

Crowley turned on of the screws, making Samandiriel scream in pain.

§

Hallway

Ness, Catty, Sam and Dean walked along. Samandiriel's screams could be heard.

"Alfie," Catty told them.

They heard footsteps approaching them. Ness, Catty, Sam and Dean looked at the four Demons that were in front of each of them. The four Demons approached Ness, Catty, Sam and Dean from all sides. Ness, Catty, Sam and Dean took out bottles, throwing them at the Demons in front of them, ducking for cover. The bombs exploded.

Viggo looked up at the sound of the explosion.

Viggo stammered nervously. "M--M--Mr. Crowley, not that this isn't important, but perhaps we should be making preparations to leave. We--we seem to be under attack."

"Did you say something?" Crowley asked, tightening one of the screws on the metal contraption on Samandiriel's head.

Samandiriel screamed in pain.

§

Hallway

Ness, Catty, Sam and Dean walked down a hallway to the sound of Samandiriel's screams.

Catty spray painted over an Enochian symbol on a nearby door. "All right, any time now, Cas." Castiel appeared, breathing heavily. Catty held him standing worriedly. "Cas. Hey. You okay?"

"It must be the Sigils," Castiel told them. "I'm not at full power."

"Guys, help me muss this crud," Ness told them.

"No, wait," Castiel told them. "There's no time. Samandiriel won't last much longer."

Dean tried the lock on the door.

"Cas," Ness told him. "Here, take this."

Ness handed Castiel her Angel Blade. Samandiriel screamed. Castiel covered his ears.

"All right, Plan B," Ness told them.

"We have a Plan B?" Dean asked.

Ness pushed against the door with her elbow, trying to break it down, but it didn't budge. She gave Sam and Dean a look. Sam and Dean followed her lead, doing the same. Castiel cowered on the floor.

Samandiriel was still in the trance, staring off vacantly. "Ar-doh-zah-feh."

Crowley was annoyed and exasperated. "Spit it out, you Heavenly pile of filth."

Sam and Dean continued to hurl themselves against the door. Castiel was still cowering on the floor. Catty knelt in front of him worriedly. Ness looked at them in concern.

§

Prison Room

Samandiriel was still in the trance, staring off vacantly. "Pah-deh-rah."

Crowley was in shock, processing. "Holy mother of sin."

"What?" Viggo asked. "What is it?"

Crowley took the information in. "There's an Angel Tablet."

§

The door was moving and Sam and/or Dean continued to try to break in. Viggo looked nervous. The door finally gave away. Dean, Ness, Sam and Catty walked in. Crowley was nowhere in sight. Viggo grabbed a knife from his table of torture implements, going after Dean, trying to stab him. Dean caught his arm, keeping it away at arms' length. Viggo pushed him against the brick wall. Castiel walked in, looking weak, going to Samandiriel. A female Demon walked in, punching toward Catty. Catty ducked, grabbing her shoulders, kneeing her in the stomach. Viggo threw Dean into a glass pane, making it shatter and him fall to the floor. Castiel loosened the screwed on the metal contraption on Samandiriel's head, removing a metal pick from his skull. Viggo went after Dean, trying to stab him in the chest. Sam caught his arm before he killed Dean, twisting his arm, kicking him in the face, making him fall to the floor, pinning him to the floor, trying to stab Viggo with Octavia's Angel Sword. Viggo kept the sword away at arms' length. A another female Demon grabbed Ness' shoulder from behind. Ness turned to face Female Demon 2, punching her with one hand, over her elbow, punching her in the face with the other, making her fall to the floor and groan in pain. Dean tossed his Angel Blade to Ness. Ness caught it, kneeling to the floor to stake Demon 2 in the heart with the Angel Blade, killing her, making her flash with bright light, taking it out. Catty punched Female Demon 1 in the face repeatedly, making her fall to the floor. The female Demon stood, grabbing a knife from the torture tool table, slashing toward Catty. Catty backed away enough to make her miss. The female Demon slashed toward Catty. Catty backed away enough to make her miss, punching her in the face. Castiel continued to disassemble the metal contraption on Samandiriel's head, removing it. Sam pushed Viggo's arm away, backhanding him across the face. Catty spun to kick the female Demon toward Dean. Dean stood, restraining the female Demon from behind. Catty drove Catty's Knife into her heart, killing her, making her flash with red, taking it out. Dean let her go, letting the body fall to the floor. Sam was about to stab Viggo with Octavia's Angel Sword.

"Wait!" Viggo told him. "I know—I know things."

Catty looked at Castiel. "Cas! Go!"

Castiel helped Samandiriel stand, disappearing, leaving.

"Good, good," Viggo told them. "There's so much you don't know. You need me."

Sam nodded. "Yeah." Viggo nodded. "Yeah, I don't think so."

Sam stabbed Viggo in the heart with Octavia's Angel Sword, killing him, making him flash with bright light, taking the sword out.

§

Outside

Castiel supported Samandiriel, leaning him against the warehouse. "It's okay. You're safe now. I'm taking you home."

"No," Samandiriel told him. "You can't take me back there, Castiel."

"Why not?" Castiel asked.

"You don't understand," Samandiriel told him. "I told Crowley things--things he shouldn't have known. He got to our coding, our secrets. Secrets I didn't even know we had."

"What secrets?" Castiel repeated.

"Heaven, Naomi," Samandiriel answered.

Castiel was confused. "No. W--who's Naomi?"

"Who is--" Samandiriel started. "Listen to me. Listen to me closely. I've been there. I know. They're controlling us, Castiel."

Castiel continued to grow confused. "What do you mean?"

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Castiel was sitting in a chair.

Naomi was leaning over him urgently. "Kill him!"

"What does he mean?" Castiel asked. "'They're controlling us'?"

"Castiel!" Naomi told him.

"Who is controlling us?" Castiel asked. "Why did I see your face? Why was I so afraid? Why have you been using me to get information about Sabrina and Catty? Mostly Sabrina? Why am I telling you things about them? Letting you teach Sabrina when I don't trust you and I don't want you anywhere near Sabrina? What did you do to me? What have you done to Sabrina?"

Naomi pulled Castiel to his feet. "This is a direct order. Kill him!"

Naomi pushed Castiel back into the chair. Castiel disappeared, leaving.

§

Warehouse - Outside

Castiel let his Angel Blade slip down from his sleeve, stabbing Samandiriel in the heart, killing him, making him flash with bright white light.

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Castiel was in denial, confused. "What did I just do?"

"You killed a traitor," Naomi told him.

"Samandiriel... was good," Castiel told her. "And I was trying to atone for--"

"Samandiriel was broken," Naomi told him. "He revealed the existence of what I would die to protect. What any of us would die to protect. The Angel Tablet, Castiel. Crowley knows."

"I just murdered one of our own to protect a Tablet?" Castiel asked.

"If the Demon Tablet can seal Demons in Hell, what do you think the Angel Tablet could do to us?" Naomi asked. "To Sabrina? You're a hero, Castiel. You've done Heaven a great service."

Castiel looked at Naomi. "And that's what I tell Catty and Sabrina?"

§

Warehouse - Outside

Castiel was cradling Samandiriel's body. Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness ran closer.

"Cas!" Catty told him. "What the hell happened?"

Warehouse - Outside

Castiel repeated what Naomi had said to Sam, Dean, Catty and Ness, standing. "He came at me. I killed him in self-defense."

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Naomi looked at Castiel. "Say you must return his body to Heaven, and then bring him to me."

§

Warehouse - Outside

Catty looked at Castiel in concern. "Cas, you okay?"

Blood trickled from the corner of one of Castiel's eyes.

Castiel wiped the blood away. "My vessel must have been damaged in the melee. I have to go. Samandiriel's remains belong in Heaven."

§

Heaven - Naomi's Office

Naomi looked at Castiel. "I need to see just how Crowley dug into him. Do you understand?"

"Yes," Castiel answered. "I understand."

§

Warehouse - Outside

Castiel knelt next to Samandiriel's body, putting an arm around his shoulders.

"Cas, wait," Catty told him.

Castiel stood, helping the body stand. "Thank you all... for everything you've done."

Castiel and Samandiriel disappeared.

Catty looked around in confusion. "Cas!"

Day Three

Morning - Rufus' Cabin

Sabrina was asleep in one of the rooms. Catty made sure she was asleep, closing the door, turning to Sam, Ness and Dean in the living room.

Ness spray-painted the Enochian Angel-Warding symbol on the door. "Okay. That should do it. Cas can't see or hear us now."

"Okay, what the hell?" Dean asked.

"I know," Catty told them.

"Ness and I told you guys something was off with him since he got back from Purgatory," Dean told them.

"So, what, you think someone's messing with him or something?" Ness asked. "I mean, the way he acted, it was almost exactly the way he acted when Crowley and Balthazar had him on the binding spell."

"Who?" Dean asked.

"Angels?" Sam suggested.

"Why would the Angels have him kill another Angel?" Dean asked. Ness shrugged. Dean looked at Catty. "Makes you wonder what's been going on with Sabrina while she was gone."

"Sow was only gone for a few weeks," Catty told them.

"Yeah," Dean told her. "Exactly."

Catty sighed, holding a hand to her head, lowering her hand to her side. "You know what, guys? I got this. You guys go."

"What?" Sam asked.

"Don't you have a girl to get back to?" Catty asked. She looked between Sam and Dean. "And don't you two have a stupid, ridiculous fight to get back to, that only Ness and I are trying to stop?"

"What's up with you?" Dean asked.

"I don't know," Catty told them sarcastically. "Cas' acting like he did when he was being controlled, Sabrina has some knew knowledge about her powers that I don't know how she learned so fast, but by the way things are going, I just can't assume that it's in the 'good, fine, okay' column, can I?"

Ness nodded in agreement. "Because the last time something like this happened, Ava got killed and all of us got screwed."

There was a moment of silence, all sighing.

Catty shook her head. "But most of all, I'm just tired of all the running, hiding and fighting." She looked at Sam, taking a beer out of the refrigerator. "And, you know, maybe I'm a little bit jealous of you. I could never separate myself from the job like you could. Hell, maybe it's time for at least one of us to be happy."

"What, you being such a big hugger and all?" Sam asked.

"You did promise Ava that you would move on with your life, live and be happy," Ness told him. "Hallucination Ava and real Ava. Does Amelia make you happy the way that Ava used to?"

Sam sighed, shaking his head. "No. Nothing can ever be what I had with Ava. But Amelia could be waiting for me if I went back. I'd be a very lucky man if she was. But now... with everything staring down at us, with all that's left to be done... I don't know."

"Huh," Dean told him.

"Yeah," Sam told him.

"Well, I do know this," Dean told him. "Whatever you decide, decide. Both feet in or both feet out. Anything in between is what gets you dead."

"Yeah, I keep hearing that," Sam told them. "I'm gonna... take a walk. Clear my head."

Sam walked out, leaving.

Catty looked between Ness and Dean. "I'm just gonna go check on Sow."

Catty walked into the bedroom, closing the door.

Dean sighed.

Ness looked at Dean. "If Sam's gonna say goodbye to Amelia, then I think it's time for one of us to tell Benny goodbye."

Dean knew she was right, sighing, nodding. "Yeah. You go. I'll be here... seeing if Sammy will be back."

Ness nodded, walking out.

§

Outside

Ness walked along the porch, sighing, hesitating, leaning against a post, taking out her phone, making a call.

Benny's voice was on the other line. "Ness. Thank you mightily." He was riverside next to Benny's RV. "I'm in a hard way here. How close are you andDean?"

"I'm sorry, man," Ness told him. "We, um... we're not gonna make it."

Benny sat down on the bench railing. "You mean, now, or..."

Ness hesitating, sighing. "Listen, Benny. Everything you've done for us, we will never forget, but, uh... this is it."

"End of the line?" Benny asked.

"End of the line," Ness answered.

"Yeah, well, I never liked these cellphones anyway," Benny told her.

"You, uh... you stay good, all right?" Ness asked.

"You too, Ness," Benny told her. "And Dean. And, uh... thanks for the ride."

"Yeah," Ness told him. "Thank you, too. Adios."

Benny hung up, thinking. Ness hung up, looking down.

Rufus' Cabin

Catty and Sabrina were sitting on the couch. Sam and Dean walked closer, sitting down on either side of Catty and Sabrina. Ness opened the door of the cabin, about to walk in, taking in the scene, stopping. Dean set three bottles of beer, a bottle of Pepsi, and a bowl of food down on the coffee table in front of them. He removed the cap from one bottle, setting it down in front of Sam, removing the cap from the second, setting it down in front of, opening his own. He handed the bottle of Pepsi to Sabrina. Sam picked up his beer, taking a drink. Dean took a drink. Sabrina grabbed Catty's bottle, handing it to Catty. Catty smiled a small, sad smile. Sabrina reached forward to the bowl of food, pulling it into her lap, eating. Sam, Catty and Dean exchanged a subtle look, looking at Sabrina, then each other again, not knowing what was going on with Cas, or if anything was going on with Sabrina yet. Ness smiled a small, sad smile, closing the door without walking in to give them time alone.
