chapter 1 - The Dark Witch
Flashback
Enchanted Forest
Night - Village
Young Priscilla and Young Jefferson were running along in the village, sneaking off with people's things, this having been clearly after Young Priscilla had taken some of Young Jefferson's madness so he could control it and it wouldn't consume him, at the price of having madness of her own, and if they were far apart, it could consume them both.
Young Jefferson found the necklace Freya/Priscilla usually wore on a table, picking it up. "Hey, Cilla. This should be a good gift for you after you helped take my madness."
Young Priscilla smiled, laughing. "I love it. Thank you. Come on, Jefferson."
"You know, your father would kill me if he caught us stealing," Young Jefferson pointed out.
Young Priscilla shrugged. "Let him try. He knows he'll lose me if he makes me lose you after he already made me lose Bae and killed my mother in front of me. I don't even think he would be that stupid to risk losing his daughter by killing the one person she has as a friend. One she really cares about."
Young Jefferson smiled. "I care about you too, Priscilla. I'll meet you back at the village."
Young Priscilla nodded. Young Jefferson ran off. Young Priscilla reached out to take more things.
A wizard near Young Priscilla's age named Cyrus appeared nearby to speak to her once she was alone. "Don't."
Young Priscilla jumped. "What?"
"Don't," Cyrus repeated.
"I'm sorry," Young Priscilla told him. "Please don't tell my father. He'll kill you if he learns of this."
Cyrus chuckled, shaking his head. "I wasn't talking about stealing, Priscilla."
"How do you know my name?" Young Priscilla asked.
"I know many things, because my father and my mother had taught me," Cyrus told her. "And I'm here to tell you, don't do it."
"I don't understand," Young Priscilla admitted.
"When you do something that you're not supposed to do, even if you do it for the right reasons, bad things will happen, Priscilla," Cyrus explained. "Bad things. One day, you will have the opportunity to remove Excalibur from its stone, but you must not. Leave the sword alone."
Young Jefferson ran back. "Priscilla! I forgot something."
Young Priscilla looked toward him, confused. "Jefferson, he--"
Young Priscilla looked back to where she had seen Cyrus, only to find him gone.

Day - Forest
Arthur, Lancelot and Percival raced on horses through the forest to the shore.
"Is this the place, Lancelot?" Arthur asked.
Lancelot nodded. "Have faith, Arthur. Merlin and Cyrus's prophecy was quite clear. This is it."
"The prophecy isn't what I'm worried about," Arthur told them. "Someone beat us here."
They drew their swords, approaching the the sword in the stone.
Sir Kay was there. "You're too late."
"Sir Kay, do not give into dark temptations," Arthur told him. "That sword is not yours to take."
"Why not?" Kay asked. "Because of some prophecy from some old wizard and his son? So I should accept you as my king? No, thank you. I just need to take what I want, and then I shall be the greatest king in all the realms."
Kay moved to take the sword from the stone, but it did not budge, exploding into a dust cloud.
Lancelot looked at Arthur. "Your turn."
Arthur sighed. "I suppose it is."
Arthur removed the sword from the stone easily, however the curvy tip of the sword had already been broken off. The blade of the sword was the same design as the Dark One's dagger.
"Where's the rest of it?" Lancelot asked.
Arthur shook his head. "This is all there is."
"How can you take the throne with half the sword?" Percival asked. "What will you tell the people?"
"All they need to know is they have a king," Arthur told them. "In the meantime, we have a new quest to begin. We must make Excalibur whole!"

Night - Street
It was seconds after Freya had sacrificed herself to the darkness in order to save Lisa, Blake and Grace while everyone had watched helplessly. Everyone was stunned, in denial.
Regina shook her head in shock. "How could she be so stupid?"
"Regina!" David chided.
"Well, there had to be another way," Emma told them.
"There wasn't," Snow answered. "That thing was going to kill Lisa, Blake and Grace. Freya sacrificed herself to save her kids."
"Any one of us would do the same thing," David told them.
"Don't you think we know that?" Ella asked. "I would do the same thing for Henry and Rose."
Regina sighed, having to admit this. "So would I."
Henry was stunned. "And now she's the Dark One."
"Now she's a problem for all of us," Saphira told them.
"She is still good," Lisa told them.
Tori sighed worriedly. "I hope so. It's not like she rode of on a unicorn. She got sucked up by a vortex of evil."
"Don't forget about the madness with Jefferson," Mathias told them. "Or what the darkness is doing inside of Freya while she and Jefferson are both tormented by the madness already."
Alcina was horrified for her sister. "Where is Cilla? Where's she gone?"
Killian scoffed. "It doesn't bloody well matter." Blake approached Freya's dagger, and when Killian grabbed his shoulder, he pushed him off. "Blake, don't."
"Get out of my way," Blake replied.
Jefferson picked up the dagger. "If we can't find her, we can damn well bring her to us. Dark One, with this dagger, I command thee, return." Freya failed to appear. Jefferson looked at Grace, Lisa and Blake worriedly, who were all in shock and horror after Freya had sacrificed herself to save them. "Dark One, appear!"
"Put that thing down before you hurt yourself, Mad Hatter," Regina told him.
"How the hell does this dagger work, anyway?" Blake asked.
"With it, we can summon the Dark One from any corner of the world," Grace answered.
Rose sighed sadly, shaking her head. "Well, there's your answer. She's not in this world."

Enchanted Forest
Day - Vault of the Dark One
Darkness formed from the entrance of the vault of the Dark One, confluencing into Freya, in rags and a robe. As she was, she was reliving her worst moments in her life. In 1.08, realizing that Rumple had turned into the Dark One and had slaughtered the knights in front of her her Baelfire, seeing Rumple break down and abuse Belle and Tori in 1.12, losing her entire family in 1.17 and making the house explode with her powers, 1.19: flashback of Rumple holding Young Priscilla back from saving Baelfire. In 2.01, getting separated from her family after just reuniting, 2.04, having to watch as Rumple killed Milah, her mother, in front of her, 2.19: Rumple nearly killing Young Jefferson when Young Priscilla had taken some of his madness, 2.21: having to watch helplessly as Neal was shot and fell through the portal. In 2,22, losing Henry, Rose and Grace to Greg and Tamara taking them to Neverland, not getting them back until 3.08. In 3.10, realizing that Peter Pan, her grandfather, had tried to have Jefferson killed to make her go insane, and that he had possessed Grace. Watching Rumple kill himself to kill Pan in 3.11. In 3.15: Neal dying in the arms of Freya and Alcina as their family stood around them. In 4.11: losing control of madness because of the shattered sight spell cast on everyone that nearly made her, Jefferson and Grace kill Regina. In 4.12: realizing Gold was behind it all and forcing him to leave town lines after he had lied to everyone, nearly trapped Lisa and Blake in the hat, and nearly killed Hook. In 4.17: Gold making Maleficent get into the heads of Freya, Jefferson and Grace, giving them hallucinations of destruction, horror and death to make Freya and Jefferson lose control of madness, and make Grace lose control of her power, all so that they couldn't stop him from reversing the link of light and darkness on Lisa and Blake to get what he wanted. In 4.18: realizing that Gold had Zelena threatening Derek (Saphira's boyfriend), and Robin (Alcina's lover and the father of her unborn children) to keep everyone in line, also realizing Gold had someone waiting to kill Faye, revealing that he had known Maleficent and Lily to be family to the Matthews the entire time. In 4.19/4.20/4.21: Freya, Jefferson, Grace and Lisa losing control of their magic/madness/powers because of Gold, including Lisa and Grace ending up killing Cruella. In 4.22/4.23: everyone trapped in another realm of book so Gold could have his happy ending, and finally, 4.23: when the darkness was released from Gold, it went straight for Lisa, Blake and Grace, so Freya sacrificed herself to save them.
Freya realized where she was because this was the same place that Neal had brought their father back, scoffing. "Oh, hell, no." She heard a man's whistling, pulling back her hood. "Who's there?" She turned to see Rumplestiltskin behind her, in denial. "You're supposed to be in Storybrooke. You were in a coma."
Rumplestiltskin smirked. "Yes, I am. Or rather, he is, your father."
"What are you?" Freya asked.
"I'm many things," Rumplestiltskin answered. "I'm the voice in your head. Though, since you've had many a voices in your head due to the madness that you share with Jefferson, I should probably be a bit more specific. I'm the Dark One's powers inside you, inside all the Dark Ones. Rumplestiltskin is but one of many. Perhaps I can be another. How about Gorgon the Invincible?"
Rumplestiltskin turned into a fire breathing giant boar, hurling the fire at Freya.
Freya ducked out of reflex, covering her head with her arms. "Papa! Stop!"
Rumplestiltskin appeared again. "Yes, probably easier this way. Though not at all easy for you considering all that your father has done to you and the people you love, especially considering the madness inside your head, and Jefferson's head, that he made worse for his own gain and benefits." Freya stood, glaring at him, starting to walk away. Rumplestiltskin appeared in her way to stop her. "Now, are you ready to begin?"
"Begin what?" Freya asked.
"Well, learning to be the Dark One, of course," Rumplestiltskin answered. "Think of me as your guide, but only until you've learned to embrace your powers. Who better to teach you than your father like he taught you all those years ago, though he's most likely the face you least want to see at the moment? With the darkness and madness swirling inside that head of yours, you may turn out even worse than him."
Freya glared at him angrily. "I will never embrace the darkness."
Rumplestiltskin smirked. "Ah, they all say that. Everyone who steps from this well enjoys the taste too much. The only way to stop is to be stopped. This is the fate of all Dark Ones." Freya shook her head, turning away. "You can't just walk away from it."
"Watch me," Freya replied. Rumple appeared in front of her, making her jump. Freya sighed, closing her eyes. "I'm in the Enchanted Forest now, which means Merlin and Cyrus can't be far from here, and the Apprentice told us they can destroy the darkness, so I'm going to find them."
"Merlin and Cyrus?" Rumplestiltskin repeated. "Oh, you're much better off with your father."
Freya raised her voice angrily. "You're not my father!" She realized that madness was having an easier time controlling her while the darkness was also inside her, fighting it off, closing her eyes, shaking her head. Rumplestiltskin giggled at this knowingly. "I'll never be like my father. Or any of you. I'll never hurt the people I love, the people who love me, not like Papa did. He hurt all of us just to get his happiness."
"Yes, he did," Rumplestiltskin agreed. "And after he nearly drove you and Jefferson insane, made Grace lose control of her destructive powers, maybe even more destructive than anyone's, just to get Lisa and Blake to switch and nearly destroyed everything to do it, the madness inside you hated him though you could never bring yourself to hate him. Even after he threatened Derek, Robin and Roland, the family to Alcina's unborn children, Saphira's boyfriend Derek. Derek and Faye having a child. You all still forgave him. That was very sweet but stupid all the same." Freya rolled her eyes, looking away. "Especially after he threatened the father of your sister Alcina's unborn children as well, and nearly destroyed Belle's family Tori, Saphira and Mathias, even Faye. Oh, wait, thanks to Belle and Rumplestiltskin's marriage, they're also family to you. Don't you want to get justice against your father for the crimes against your family, by blood, caring and marriage alike?"
Freya shook her head slowly. "I'm not gonna hurt my father, no matter what he did."
Freya walked away.
Rumplestiltskin smirked. "We shall see."

Day Two
Morning - Gold's Pawnshop
The group arrived to the shop to try to find a way to Freya.
"Apprentice?" Ella asked. "The darkness took Freya. Where did they go?"
"She is now where all darkness is born," Apprentice answered. "In your realm."
"Then take us there," Emma told him.
Apprentice shook his head. "I am too weak now, but this will help." He conjured a green wand. "It is a gift from the Sorcerer and his son, Merlin and Cyrus, on the day I became their Apprentice."
"It can take us to Freya?" Snow asked.
"Not on its own," Apprentice answered. "In order to cross realms, it must be wielded as it was forged, with both sides of the coin. Light and the dark."
Apprentice closed his eyes, dropping the wand. Everyone looked at Lisa and Blake, who shrugged, sighing.
"Guess that's our cue," Lisa told them, picking up the wand.
Lisa and Blake both held the wand, trying to make it work, but their powers were malfunctioning.
"What's going on?" Henry asked. "Why is it not working?"
"Lisa and Blake just got turned back to normal," Grace answered. "When Grandpa made Lisa the Dark Bringer instead of the Light Bringer. When he made Blake the Light Being instead of the Dark Being."
"They literally just became normal," Saphira agreed. "Their powers aren't working right as to who they are. Light and darkness is still passing between them."
"So to make up for it, we're gonna have to use all our light and dark power," Mathias told them. "But Lisa and Blake are far stronger than any of us. We need more power."
"We have all the light magic we need here," Tori told them. "Emma, Ella, Rose, Grace. Regina, Alcina, Saphira and Mathias have the dark. I think we need one more person to help."
Blake sighed, shaking his head. "No, no, no, Tori, don't say who I think you're about to say. Don't say Faye."
Alcina sighed. "We need Faye."
"I just said don't say Faye," Blake told them.
"Get over it, Blake," Ella told him. "We need more help. And we don't have time to waste."
"Faye has magic from both sides of the coin because of the way she was created," Regina told them. "But she's insane."
"She's trying to be better," Lisa replied. "Faye can help us."
"For Aunt Freya, it's worth giving Faye a little bit of trust," Rose pointed out. "Aunt Freya helped save all of us at one point or another. Don't you think we owe it to her to repay the favor?"

Enchanted Forest
Woods
Freya came across a peddler with a cart, running closer. "Hey, excuse me. I need help. I need directions to Camelot. My father's been there, but I've never been. Do you know the way?"
The peddler smiled. "Of course. It will only cost you two pieces of silver."
Freya sighed, shaking her head. "I, uh, I don't have any silver."
"Three pieces now," the peddler told her.
Freya was getting impatient. "I'm in a hurry."
"Four," the peddler went up.
Freya held her head in pain as darkness and madness surged up in her head, lashing out without knowing. "Just tell me!"
The peddler was choking, lifted off the ground. "What are you doing?"
Freya looked at him in confusion. "I'm not doing anything."
Rumplestiltskin appeared nearby. "Well, of course you are."
Freya saw that Rumple's hand was gripping the air. "Stop."
Rumplestiltskin laughed. "It's not me doing this, dearie, it's you." Freya looked down to see her own hand gripping the air, releasing the peddler, who ran away in a hurry. Rumple smirked smugly. "So, did you enjoy it? The taste of darkness? Your father used to tell you, Regina and Alcina when you were a girl that the darkness had tasted all of you and it wouldn't stop until it had the feast. Well, this is the feast, Priscilla."
Freya ignored him the best he could, holding her head in pain as she fought off the madness and darkness as best as she could.

Storybrooke
Gold's Pawnshop
Belle was sitting by Gold's side as he was in the coma, stroking his hair.
Mother Superior approached. "Belle. You should go and help them with Freya. You're resourceful, and she is your stepdaughter. They could use you, even if they don't know it yet."
Belle looked at Gold worriedly. "If he goes, I want to be here with him."
Mother Superior used her wand to conjure a rose under a glass jar. "This rose is now linked to your beast, Belle. As long as it still has petals, he lives. Now go."
ღ
Storybrooke General Hospital - Zelena's Cell
Faye was paying a visit to her mother Zelena, mocking her. "Hello, Mother."
"If you're here to gloat about having your new family, don't bother, Faye," Zelena told her.
"New family?" Faye repeated skeptically. "They were my family when you used Tori and Mathias to help create me into something like Saphira. And then you go and do the same thing to me with Derek's unknowing help in DNA, so that I could have a child like you did with me, with Derek as the surrogate father, to punish me for wanting to have a family with the Matthews, with Belle, with Maleficent and Lily, and so in your words, you could help me 'beat Saphira and Derek', though I didn't want to anymore. You couldn't just leave well enough alone, could you?"
Derek, Regina, Lisa, Jefferson, the Matthews and Alcina arrived outside.
"Faye, calm down," Saphira told her. "Stressing out is not good for the baby."
Faye smirked. "Glad to know you care, Sister Saphira."
"We need your help," Jefferson told her.
Faye laughed. "Wow. You must be really desperate." She approached Blake. "Unless of course, someone was just looking for an excuse to come and see me so we could bicker all over again, right, Blake?"
"Well, apparently everyone here has lost their minds just like Freya and Jefferson," Blake replied. "They don't wanna wait for Lisa's and my powers to be fully okay after the switch, but they wanna ask the insanity lollipop for help."
Faye raised her eyebrows mockingly, covering her mouth with a hand. "Insanity lollipop? Really?" She clapped sarcastically, smirking. "At least it's better than Fatale Girl. What is it? Blake scared to see an actual powerful being at work and finally see I'm better than you?"
Blake looked at her in shock, before laughing her off. "Better than me? You really are insane. I'm a Divine Being, Faye, like a celestial way. You're a bad baked science project."
Blake finished with a smirk, knowing it would piss her off.
Faye tilted her head. "Whoa, and they say I'm insane? I may be a science project, but at least I make science look good. You really think you're all that, don't you?"
Blake smirked sarcastically, confident. "Sweetie, I know I am all that."
Faye was about to make a reply before Jefferson and Mathias cut them off.
"Blake," Jefferson interceded.
Mathias gave her a look. "Faye. Both of you knock it off."
Blake narrowed his eyes at Faye. "This isn't over, Fatale."
Faye smirked. "Call me when you lose sense of who you are again, Dark Being."
They laughed sarcastically at each other, looking away, rolling their eyes at the same time.
"Just listen to us," Alcina told her.
"What is it, then?" Faye asked.
Alcina sighed worriedly. "Something happened to Freya."
ღ
Camelot
Road
Freya was making her way along, trying to ignore Rumple. "Leave me alone. I don't need you."
"That maple tree ahead, we've passed it three times already," Rumplestiltskin told her. "You're going around in circles, dearie. Now I can help you, if you let me."
Freya shook her head. "I may have been using dark magic for most of my life, but I am not using Dark One magic because I've seen what it's done to my father. Just looking at you reminds me of what it did to him."
Rumplestiltskin smirked. "I didn't say it was going to use magic. If you want to find Merlin and Cyrus, just ask, and find them you shall."
"I'm not gonna trust you," Freya told him. "I know better than to trust the darkness. I'll find Merlin and Cyrus on my own."
"Well, here's what I have to say about that," Rumplestiltskin told her. "There's a magical force that can lead you to where ever you need to be. Now if you'll allow me, I can show you where to find it."
"Well, if it'll get you to shut the hell up and leave me alone, tell me," Freya told him.
Rumplestiltskin chuckled. "Excellent. Imagine a mirrored lake. A tall tree with low-hanging branches that loom over it. Above it, a beautiful blue sky. Now picture it in your mind's eye. Picture it clearly."
Freya was trying to picture that so that she could take her mind off the darkness and madness. "I'm picturing it." She found herself beside the creek. "What the... I said don't use magic!"
Rumplestiltskin smiled. "I didn't, dearie. You did. This is far from your first magical transportation, but Dark One transportation is so much easier, is it not? No need overthink, just to imagine. No puff of smoke, just there when you need to be."
Freya rolled her eyes. "I knew you would trick me."
Rumplestiltskin laughed. "Of course I did. I'm a Dark One."
Freya held her head, looking down, breathing heavily. "Go away."
"I don't think you want that," Rumplestiltskin told her. "Look." He pointed to a blue floating creature. "The will-o-wisp. Now if you want to find Cyrus and Merlin, better catch it."
ღ
Storybrooke
General Hospital - Zelena's Cell
The group was still talking.
Zelena smirked smugly. "Well, that is quite a mess."
"Faye, help us," Lisa told her. "We can rid the world of this darkness once and for all."
"And we have to do it fast," Jefferson told them. "I don't know what the darkness is doing to Cilla specifically, but I can feel it tearing at the madness inside our heads."
Derek looked at Faye. "You've been trying to be better. You've been trying to be saner. You wanna be better? Help us rid the darkness. Don't you want that for our child?"
"Oh, Derek, you are taking to this 'child without having, you know' thing with another woman quite well," Zelena pointed out. "Even though you've never been with Faye, knowing that it's your DNA and your genes that helped create the baby inside of her the same way I did with Tori and Mathias. And how they, Saphira, Belle, Maleficent and Lily still wanted to be a family with her. Wow. You know, I don't get you hero types, Derek."
"Zelena, you're not the one that's pregnant," Regina told her. "We can and will take your tongue."
Lisa put a hand up. "Enough with the squabbling." She gave Faye and Blake a look. "All of you."
Faye smirked. Blake sighed.
Alcina sighed. "Faye. Are you gonna help us find Freya or not?"
"Of course," Faye answered.
"Really" Saphira asked.
"Well, I meant what I said before, dears," Faye told them. "I'm still going to try and change for the better." She gave Blake a sarcastic look. "And saner." Blake nodded sarcastically. "I'm going to do whatever I can to free Freya from the darkness. But since this is a group effort, we really should get Emma, Ella, Rose and Grace here also."
"We'll be meeting them," Derek told them. "Don't worry."
Faye took the wand to look at. "Oh, yes, so simple. You simply need an object that guides the portal to its destination. Something that belonged to Freya. Something meaningful to her."
"Fine," Regina told them. "That we can do."
"You know, I could help," Zelena told them, showing them the anti magic cuff on her wrist. "There's just a tiny something standing in my way."
Tori scoffed. "Nice try, Zelena. We don't need you."
"Why would you help Freya?" Alcina asked. "You killed Neal to make my life and Cilla's life a living hell."
They all left the cell, leaving Faye with Zelena.
Zelena smirked. "Well, they really hold a grudge, don't they?"
ღ
Camelot
Woods
Freya was chasing the will-o-wisp, but a hooded woman grabbed it and stuffed it in her bag, running off. "Hey! Hey, I need that! Stop!"
The hooded woman was grabbed by dark magic and flung backward to the ground. She stood, pulling back her hood to reveal Merida, aiming her bow and arrow at Freya. "Back off, lassie. My aim is true. Don't test me."
"I wasn't trying to hurt you," Freya told her.
"So that was just a wee magical love tap?" Merida asked. "Oh, I've met my share of witches, and I know 'em when I see 'em, witch."
"Okay, I might be a witch, but that wasn't a bad thing before I got cursed with darkness," Freya replied. "I want to be rid of this darkness. The will-o-wisp is the only way."
"You want to be rid of it?" Merida asked.
"Desperately," Freya answered.
Merida lowered her bow. "Aye. I know what that's like. It's a terrible fate to be cursed. Just be glad you're not a bear." Freya frowned, confused. "Oh, never mind. Look, I wish I could help ya, but I need the wisp too, for my kingdom, for my family. So, I'm afraid you're gonna have to fight me for it."
"What?" Freya asked.
Merida dropped her bow and raised both fists, tilting her head. "I'm willing to fight fair if you are. No magic."
Rumplestiltskin appeared. "I like her spunk. Break her neck."
Freya ignored him, looking at Merida. "I'm not going to fight you."
"You're not?" Merida asked.
"Well, why not?" Rumplestiltskin asked.
"Fighting before always gave the madness a chance to try and take control, and with the darkness inside, that'll be easier now more than ever," Freya answered. "And with them both inside me now, I can't do it." She looked at Merida. "Go on, take it and get on your way. It's yours."
Merida looked at her suspiciously. "Don't be trying to sucker punch me."
Freya shook her head. "I'm not going to. Just go."
Merida lowered her fists. "Thank you. I'm Merida."
Freya sighed. "Freya. I had a different name back here, though. Priscilla."
"Which name do you prefer?" Merida asked.
"Well, I was reminded by a boy I took in named Blake that my real name makes me sound like a priss, so go ahead and call me Freya," Freya told her.
Merida chuckled in amusement. "You're in dire straights, aren't you, Freya?"
Freya nodded. "You could say that."
"Well, it wouldn't be fair to leave you," Merida told her. "I can help."
"I don't think so," Freya told her.
"Well, maybe I can," Merida told her. "You don't know much about the wisp, eh? They're born in a magical place. The Hill of Stones. They answer your question when you bring them back home. It's about a day's trek from here. We can go together, and I can get my help from the wisp, and then maybe I can give it to you and you can get yours."
Freya smiled a little gratefully. Merida led the way.

Storybrooke
Granny's Diner
Henry, Rose and Grace were waiting at the counter, anxious on news. Emma, Killian and Ella joined them.
"Henry?" Ella asked. "Rose? Grace? You can fix this together, can't you, with the Author, Enchantress and Illusionist powers together? Use your powers and get the darkness out of Freya."
Emma nodded. "Bring her back."
"I broke the pen," Henry explained.
"You what?" Emma asked.
"Our power together is too much," Henry told them. "That's how the last Author got in trouble and the last Enchantress and Illusionist had to lock him up."
"He stopped recording history and started using the power of Enchantress and Illusionist to change it," Grace agreed. "Mama wouldn't want us to. She'd want us to be good."
Killian nodded in agreement. "Ah. Honor. She wouldn't want you to break any rules, then."
"Don't worry," Rose told them. "Mom, Blake, Lisa, Uncle Jefferson, Saphira, Tori, Mathias, Aunt Ally and Derek can get Faye to help."
"Are they back yet?" Henry asked.
"Not yet," Emma answered. "I hope they will be soon."
ღ
Storybrooke General Hospital - Zelena's Cell
Faye was getting ready to leave.
Zelena stood. "You know, you shouldn't trust them, Faye. They may want to give you a chance now, but one slip up of insanity or wickedness and they will turn on you as soon as you have that baby, my grandchild, and keep her away from you."
Faye scoffed. "I'm not listening to what you have to say anymore, Mama. Not when you knew that having this child could kill me. I'm not a kid anymore."
"Your best bet is me, darling Faye," Zelena told her. "You don't want to let your mother rot in a cell, do you?"
"After what you did to me?" Faye asked. "Maybe I do. Now, I'm going to help my 'new family', and you can sit here and turn green from envy again if you'd like, but you deserve it after this." She placed a hand on her stomach to show her what she meant. "Goodbye for now, mommy dearest."
Faye walked out, closing and locking the cell door behind her.

Camelot
Woods
Merida was leading the way through the woods at a very fast pace, clearly exhausted.
Freya followed. "You ever hear the phrase, slow and steady wins the race?"
"I don't have time for slow," Merida replied.
"What exactly is your hurry?" Freya asked. "Why do you need the wisp?"
"My brothers," Merida answered. "They were kidnapped by the united clans of my country. Just three wee innocent boys. Savages. Because of me. My father is... was... the king. When he passed, the clans no longer approved of me being queen. In my land, people, well, men, don't think a woman can lead."
"Oh, not just in your land, or this entire realm," Freya told her.
Merida sighed. "But I'm going to show them. I need the wisp to take me to my brothers, and when it does, I will save them, no matter what the cost. If it's war the clans want, it's war they'll get."
Merida turned to look at Freya, tripping over a rock.
Freya walked closer, taking Merida by the hand to help her up. "You won't do your brothers any good passed out from exhaustion. When's the last time you slept?"
"What month is it?" Merida asked. Freya gave her a look, tilting her head. Merida sighed. "Fine. We can make camp. But just until first light."
ღ
Night
Merida was laying down, facing away from Freya. Freya was lying down, staring out into the darkness, turning over onto her other side.
Rumplestiltskin appeared. "Can't sleep?"
Freya gasped, rolling her eyes. "Dark Ones don't sleep. I know that because of my father. That's why he spun straw, to pass the time."
"You need a hobby," Rumplestiltskin told her. "Something to take your mind off all the madness and the terrible things you're going to do. Do you like knitting?"
"In case you haven't noticed, I'm doing good here," Freya told him. "I'm helping Merida, and then when she's done with the wisp, it will be my turn."
"The wisp isn't a toy you can share," Rumplestiltskin told her. "She can't just give it to you. The person who whispers to it becomes its owner, forever."
"So if I let her use it, I can never use it?" Freya asked.
Rumplestiltskin smirked. "Not while her heart beats."
"You want me to take it for myself, but I'm not gonna," Freya told him.
Rumplestiltskin gave her a look. "I want to you start behaving like a Dark One!"
Jumping a little from the loud voices in her head, pushing them out, Freya scoffed, shaking her head. "You knew this would happen. That's why you lead me to her. You wanted me to betray Merida."
The camera panned to Merida, who was awake and listening.

Storybrooke
Day - Street
Jefferson was with the others, holding his head in pain.
"Jefferson?" David asked. "Hey. You okay?"
"Does it look like he's okay?" Killian replied. "What's wrong, mate?"
"Just feeling what Freya's going through," Jefferson answered. "The darkness tearing away at the madness inside her head. Our heads."
"And we all know how that madness sharing works," Snow told them worriedly. "It happened since they were kids. Every time Freya and Jefferson were separated, the madness would get worse because they weren't there to share the linked madness together. So without Jefferson, in another realm with the darkness inside of her as well, Freya must be..."
David sighed worriedly, nodding knowingly. "Yeah, Snow. We know." He looked at the Hatters reassuringly. "We're gonna get back to her."
Faye walked up to them. "So you need help with the wand. This is a rogue mission to rescue dear Freya. I like it."
"About bloody time you showed up," Derek told her.
"Sorry," Faye told them sarcastically. "I was dealing with Mama."
"Insane girl with mommy issues," Blake told them. "Great."
Faye smirked sarcastically. "Moron with control issues. Oh, wait, you have parental issues too."
Lisa rolled her eyes. "Faye. Blake. Don't start."
"You can deal with your psycho mother later, Faye," Derek told her. "We have some real saving to do."
"Well, at least we've got a way to find Freya," Saphira told them. "Jefferson? Grace?"
"What?" Grace asked.
"You got something that belongs to Freya?" Mathias asked. "We need that for the spell."
Grace nodded nervously. "Right. Yeah."
"Uncle Jefferson, thanks to you and Aunt Freya, Lisa was able to remember who she was during the first Curse so she could help us all break it," Rose told him. "It reunited all of us. And that is exactly how we're going to remain."
"Come hell or high water, we are going to put all our differences aside and find my best friend," Snow told them.
"Okay?" Regina asked. "Okay."
"All right," Ella told them. "Although, Lisa, Blake and Grace are having power issues because of what Gold did. So we all have to be careful."
Tori smirked. "Yeah. Unless we want to see Robin and Derek fly like their arrows. Or like Saphira, Mathias and Faye's Dragons."
Saphira, Mathias and Faye smirked.
Faye chuckled. "That would be fun to see."
Mathias held the wand out in front of all of them. "Be careful. Use the right level of light and dark magic for all of us. One wrong thing? All of us together could bring this street down."
Killian sighed. "Bloody hell. We got the warning, Mathias. Go on."
Emma sighed. "Great. Now all it needs is a little direction. Something of Freya's."
Jefferson held out a necklace. "Cilla and I were running around villages getting into trouble when we were kids. I found this necklace and gave it to her back then. Holding onto it in Wonderland helped me with the madness."
Henry smiled encouragingly, sympathetically. "Don't worry, Uncle Jefferson. It'll help us find Aunt Freya to help her with it now. Promise."
With a powerful burst of magic from Emma, Ella, Regina, Alcina, Lisa, Blake, Rose, Grace, Saphira, Mathias and Faye, they were able to great a large earthquake with thunder rumbling in the distance.
Derek sighed in relief. "The portal. Looks like that was easier than we thought. And now that the wand is activated, it shouldn't have to be this hard to use it again."
"Exactly," Alcina agreed. "Now let's make great use of that portal and take it. Let's go get Cilla."

Day - Woods
Freya returned to camp, seeing that Merida had run off. "No! No! No, no, no, no."
Rumplestiltskin appeared. "Oh, yes."
Freya turned to face him. "Where is she?"
"Doing what you should be doing, taking care of herself first," Rumplestiltskin answered. "If she gets to the Hill of Stones and whispers into that wisp, it's all over for you, dearie... unless you kill her."
Freya shook her head. "I'm not killing anyone."
"Ah, you don't really mean that," Rumplestiltskin told her. "How else will you get back to Jefferson, Priscilla? How will you get back to Alcina, Grace, Lisa, Blake? How do you think they're all doing right now without you, going out of their minds with worrying about you? Jefferson is probably going just as crazy as you are right now. What are you gonna do about it?"
Freya held her head, giving in. "What does the Hill of Stones look like?"
Rumplestiltskin gasped mockingly. "You're not thinking of magicking there, are you?"
"Tell me," Freya told him.
"I thought you didn't want to use Dark One magic," Rumplestiltskin told her.
Freya raised her voice, nearly yelling from the conflict going on inside her head. "What does it look like?"
Rumplestiltskin smiled. "Well, if you insist..."

Hill of Stones
Merida was whispering to the wisp. "Please, please take me to my brothers and save them."
Freya arrived. "No! Do you have any idea what you've done?"
"Aye," Merida answered. "That I do. Stop. I don't know what kind of witch you are or what strange voices are in your wee head, but I heard everything."
Rumplestiltskin appeared. "What's she saying? Accent's a bit much, no?"
Freya looked at Merida. "You don't know what you heard. I can explain."
"I don't need your lies," Merida told her. "I need this wisp and I need my brothers, so turn around and go."
"She's daring you," Rumplestiltskin told her.
"Now get out of here," Merida told her.
"Kill her," Rumplestiltskin instructed.
"Don't test me, witch!" Merida told her.
Freya, fighting off all the voices inside her head and the two voices speaking to her that could be seen, she closed her eyes tightly, struggling not to do something she would regret, but the darkness was making the insanity harder to control than ever before.
Rumplestiltskin raised his voice to break her down further. "What are you waiting for, Dark One? You know what you have to do. Now go ahead and rip her heart out."
Freya was tempted but struggling not to be.

Storybrooke
Granny's Diner
The twister was getting closer to the diner. Everyone was inside.
"Floyd, shut down the fryers, secure the condiments," Granny instructed.
Regina had brought Zelena here, putting her in a chair. "Don't move. The only reason you're going with us is so that we can make sure that you don't break out and cause mayhem in Storybrooke while we're away. We're not leaving the town defenseless with you."
"I'm not sure my insurance covers this place going airborne," Granny admitted.
"We'll be fine," Grace told them.
"Well, it's coming," Killian told them. "How do you suggest we get this cyclone to take us to Freya?"
"Jefferson?" Saphira asked. "You got the necklace?"
Jefferson showed them the necklace.
"Good," Rose told him.
"Well?" Snow asked. "You ready to go get Freya?"
Grumpy led the dwarfs in worriedly. "Twister!"
"Leroy!" David told him. "It's okay. We summoned it."
"You did?" Grumpy asked.
Rose nodded. "It's taking us to Aunt Freya."
"Out, dwarfs," Faye told them. "Adults only."
"No!" Grumpy told them.
"No?" Happy repeated.
"We're staying," Grumpy told them.
"We are?" Happy asked.
Grumpy nodded. "We've been on the sidelines too long, sister, missed too many adventures. Now it's embarrassing. How do you think it feels when everyone asks you how the adventure was, and you got to say that no one asked you to go along, that you weren't needed? We're not turning our back on Freya again, not even in the face of certain death."
Henry smiled. "Thank you."
"Certain?" Happy repeated.
"Hold on tight, everyone," Tori told them.
Henry looked at the ones with magic in relief. "You did it."
The twister took them all away.

Camelot
Hill of Stones
Rumplestiltskin was still mocking Freya, trying to break her down enough to make her kill Merida. "Now's the time. You want the wisp? There's only one way. Now do it."
Freya shook her head. "I'm not going to kill her."
Merida fired an arrow. "You got that right."
Freya caught the arrow before it struck her heart.
"Go on," Rumplestiltskin told her. "Use your anger. Use your power. We both know that you have enough of both to make your head explode, enough to set the world on fire."
Freya dropped the arrow, breathing heavily. "I can talk to her."
"I don't want to talk," Merida told her, firing more arrows at Freya. Freya would catch each one, getting more and more angrier with each arrow. "You're a crazy woman."
Rumplestiltskin chuckled in amusement. "Oh, you have no idea how crazy this woman can be. You need to find Merlin and Cyrus, Dark One. You need that wisp."
"Please, don't," Freya told them.
"Kill her," Rumplestiltskin instructed. "What are you waiting for? Kill her!"
Freya caught three more arrows. "Stop!"
Merida gasped as Freya pulled her over with a magical force. Freya ripped out her heart.
Rumplestiltskin smiled. "Excellent. Now do the one thing you never could bring yourself to do after witnessing your father kill your mother for trying to take you away from the demon he had become. Crush that heart."
Freya flashed back to when Rumple had ripped out Milah's heart and crushed it, killing her mother in front of her. She also flashed back to when Rumple had been trying to get Young Priscilla to rip out a pony's heart and crush that when he had been teaching her magic in 2.05, remembering what he had told her then. "Take its heart."
Young Priscilla backed away. "Like you did to..."
Rumplestiltskin was a bit saddened by her reaction. "Your mother." He held the heart toward Young Priscilla. "Kill it. Crush it."
Now, flashing back and forth between the moment when Rumple had killed her mother in front of her and the moment he had tried to get her to crush the pony's heart, Freya struggled to let Merida's heart go, tormented by the memories and madness and darkness. The others arrived, running closer.
"Mama!" Grace told her. "Don't."
Freya looked at them in shock. "What? How?"
"It doesn't matter how," Rose told her. "Has anything ever stopped us before?"
Freya shook her head desperately. "You don't know what's happening. This is the only way to find Merlin and Cyrus. They're the only ones who can stop the darkness.'
"Quite right," Rumplestiltskin told her. "Crush it."
"The only way to protect all of you," Freya told them.
"But to stop the darkness, you're gonna let it and the madness consume you," Alcina told her worriedly.
Freya had tears in her eyes. "You don't know that."
Snow held up Freya's dagger. "We're not going to take the chance."
Lisa stopped her. "No, wait. You can't do that. This has to be her choice."
Rumplestiltskin looked at Freya. "Don't listen to them. They don't understand what's at stake."
Freya repeated, near tears. "You don't understand what's at stake. If I don't find Cyrus and Merlin, the darkness will destroy all of you. I can't control it when it has hold of the madness."
Tori tried to calm her down worriedly. "Freya. Please."
"The Dark One destroys everyone near it," Freya pointed out. "Look at what my father did, and he wasn't even insane before he took the darkness. I can't do that to my family. To any of you."
"She has to die," Rumplestiltskin told her.
Freya tightened her grip around Merida's heart. "She has to die."
"Listen to your words," Tori told her. "It's not you speaking, Freya. We can find another way together."
Ella gestured around them. "Look at us. Heroes and villains together for you. Because of you."
Jefferson stepped closer. "We've overcome the madness before, Cilla. If we can overcome that, we can overcome this. And we'll do it like we do everything. Together."
Freya took all of this in, breathing heavily. Jefferson reached out to take her hand. Freya could control the madness easier with Jefferson now here, putting Merida's heart back, turning to Jefferson instantly, who held her in a comforting, protective and understanding embrace. Freya looked around, seeing that Rumple had disappeared, relieved but still overwhelmed and damaged more than ever, laying her head on Jefferson's shoulder. When they pulled away, it was so that they could embrace Lisa, Blake and Grace, who embraced Freya worriedly in relief, knowing that she was going through this because she saved them, grateful for that, but feeling guilty because of what it led to.
ღღ
Merida was watching the wisp float around.
Freya came to apologize. "I'm sorry. You okay?"
Merida shrugged. "Oh, for someone who just now had their heart outside their chest, grand."
Freya chuckled lightly. "Thank you for... well, sort of understanding."
"No, thank you," Merida told her.
"For what?" Freya asked. "I nearly killed you."
Merida chuckled. "Well aware. Thank you for showing me the darkness in you. Reminding me I've got darkness in me, too. I was on my way to kill the people who took my brothers, but maybe... maybe I'll show them mercy... Mercy that can heal my divided land. But someone's gonna get a right good punch to the gut for putting me through this. Then mercy."
Freya walked toward the others.
Alcina walked up to her. "Cilla..."
Freya embraced her right away, causing Alcina to chuckle in surprise as she returned the embrace. "Ally, you and Faye are pregnant. What the hell are you doing here?"
They pulled away.
Alcina gave her a look. "What the hell do you think? You think I'm gonna let my little sister deal with the same thing that destroyed our father alone?"
Henry chuckled. "Oh. Aunt Ally's gonna play the big sister card with Aunt Freya."
They all chuckled.
Blake sighed, begrudgingly admitting this. "Faye helped us get here. She wanted to help."
Faye smirked smugly. "Wow, Blake, an actual word of acknowledgement and appreciation."
"Don't get used to it," Blake replied.
Freya sighed, seeing that Snow and David had brought Baby Neal. "Snow, David, this is too dangerous. You shouldn't have come, and you definitely shouldn't have brought Neal."
"We had to," David told her. "After everything you've done for us?"
"You're still my best friend, Freya," Snow told her. "And I'm so sorry I haven't acted like a best friend lately."
Snow and Freya embraced, smiling slightly.
Killian smirked. "Well, you don't look like a crocodile."
Derek chuckled. "I guess you lucked out."
Tori gave Freya a hug, only surprising her a little. "I helped raise you as a girl, Freya. And Neal. Don't think for a second I wouldn't come to help you."
Freya chuckled. "Of course not, Tori."
Mathias wrapped an arm around Tori, placing a hand on Saphira's shoulder. "Or us. We're not gonna let something happen to you. As long as we can help it."
Freya managed a small smile.
Grace offered the dagger to Freya. "Here. We think you should have this."
"Take it," Rose told her. "You'll be able to control yourself."
Freya saw Rumple appear behind them, shaking her head. "No."
"Freya, think about it," Lisa told her. "If it falls into the wrong hands, what it could do..."
"What you could do, the first ever Dark One that had severe madness inside their heads for centuries before even becoming the Dark One," Killian added.
"Not helping, Hook," Derek told him.
Freya shook her head. "The fight against darkness and madness has just begun. It's too much power. Someone needs to watch me."
Freya offered the dagger to Regina.
Regina gave her a look of shock. "Are you serious?"
"You destroyed my family once in order to save Alcina, but after finding out that Ally is also my sister and not just yours, you have become family," Freya pointed out. "And even so, if you can't save me, do what no one else will willingly do. You're the only one who will get past their feelings and do what is necessary. Destroy me."
"It won't come to that," Henry told her.
"I know, Henry," Freya told him. "So, are you guys gonna tell me how you guys got here?"
Jefferson chuckled lightly, taking Freya by the hand. "Well, it might be easier to show you."
They led her toward where Granny's was in the middle of the woods.
Freya was stunned. "You brought Granny's."
Granny walked out. "Backup generator's working, but the fryers are shot."
Freya frowned. "And Granny."
Grumpy ran outside. "Terrible news! No onion rings!"
Freya looked at Jefferson. "And Grumpy."
Jefferson smirked, nodding, tilting his head back, sighing. "Not by choice."
"There's no shortage of people who want to help you," Snow told her.
"Especially when you helped save most of them while in the Enchanted Forest and in Storybrooke," David agreed. "Even when you were going mad, looking for Jefferson, Grace and Lisa. Everyone here owes a lot to you."
Belle ran outside of Granny's, looking at her stepdaughter in relief. "Freya!"
Freya smiled slightly. "Belle."
Belle ran closer to embrace her. They all heard horses in the distance, looking in that direction.
"What now?" Derek asked.
"Stand back," Saphira told them. Arthur and his men rode closer on horseback. "Who are you? What do you want?"
"I'm King Arthur of Camelot," Arthur answered. "We've come to find you."
"Find us?" Ella repeated.
Percival chuckled. "My lord, they think their arrival is a surprise."
"You were expecting us?" Emma asked.
Arthur nodded. "It was Cyrus and Merlin. They prophesied your coming here a long time ago, just as they prophesied many things."
"Merlin?" Rose repeated. "Cyrus? Where are they?"
Grace frowned in confusion. "We were told that they've been missing."
Arthur nodded. "For years, yes, but not for much longer, because according to their prophecy, you're destined to reunite them with us. Now, then, if you'll all follow me."
"Where?" Lisa asked.
"Why, Camelot, of course," Arthur answered.
Everyone exchanged a look.
ღ
Castle Grounds
As everyone walked across the bridge to Camelot, fanfare was playing to announce their arrival. Jefferson was holding Freya's hand. Freya looked at him, managing a small smile.

Six Weeks Later
Storybrooke
Night - Granny's
Everyone arrived back, wearing Camelot clothing.
"What are you guys doing here?" Sneezy asked.
"What happened?" Snow asked.
"We're back?" David asked.
Killian looked around, stunned. "Bloody hell."
"This doesn't make any sense," Faye told them. "We were just walking into Camelot.'
"What the hell are we wearing?" Emma asked.
Blake looked at his clothes in confusion. "These things are so uncomfortable. Who knows how long I've been wearing them."
"Guys?" Ella asked. "What happened?"
"How long were we gone?" Henry asked.
"Six weeks," Sneezy answered.
"What?" Tori asked.
"Our memories..." Derek trailed off. "They're gone."
"Again?" Mathias asked in annoyance. "Bloody hell."
Lisa looked around in confusion. "Where's Freya?"
Freya arrived, wearing all black, her hair tinged with white, but not completely white. "Relax, I'm right here."
"Mama?" Grace asked in shock. "What happened to you?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Freya asked. "You went to Camelot to get the darkness out of me, and you failed." Sneezy sneezed on Freya, annoying her incredibly. "What the hell are you supposed to be?" She turned Sneezy into stone. "Regina, Alcina, the two of you and Papa used to call me the Dark Witch when you were teaching me magic, while I also learned from Cora and Zelena. I kept correcting you by saying I was the Light Witch because I didn't want to end up like you. But I guess I just did."
"Cilla, stop," Alcina told her. "That's enough."
"Or what?" Freya asked.
Regina walked closer. "Or I'll do exactly what you asked me to."
Regina reached for the dagger at her side, finding it missing.
Freya held up the dagger. "Looking for this?" She smirked insanely, chuckling. "Nobody's gonna touch this dagger but me. Now, for what you all did to me, you're about to be punished."
Jefferson walked closer in worry, concern and confusion. "Cilla. Why are you doing this?"
Freya looked over all of them. "Because the madness took over along with the darkness and it turned me into what I really am now. The Dark One."
