chapter 13 - The Kids Who Still Have a Lot of Good to Do
From 1.07 "Death Keeps Knocking On My Door", in the school, MG and Kaleb were talking.
Lindsey: (voice over) "Previously on Worlds Colliding (Legacies)."
From 1.07 "Death Keeps Knocking On My Door", in the cemetery woods, MG bared his fangs, biting into the boy's neck, starting to feed.
MG: (voice over from 1.07 Death Keeps Knocking on My Door) "Feed me blood, feed me whatever it takes."
Kaleb started to get worried. "MG, dude's not that big, okay? That's enough." Kaleb tried to get MG to stop. "MG, okay, calm down. MG, get back."
Kaleb tried to pull MG off, but MG elbowed him in the face, making him fall down, continuing to feed, almost ripping the boy's throat out. Nicola rushed up behind MG, pulling him off the boy easily with her Huntress strength, snapping his neck, letting him fall unconscious.
Nicola: (voice over from 1.07 Death Keeps Knocking on My Door) "A Ripper is a vampire who is driven by obsession."
From 1.07 "Death Keeps Knocking On My Door", in the school library, Nicola looked at Kaleb. "A Ripper will feed until there is nothing left to feed on, and then they'll move on to the next, and the next. And you know how I know all this? Because I am one, and Stefan used to be, and so did his wife Alex, even when we tried our hardest not to be. And if I'm taking bets, Milton Greasley is one too."
From 1.05 "Malivore", outside the school, Nicola, Hope, Rae, Kaylin and Madison were managing the supernatural tests for Owen and Landon.
Kaylin was just stunned and exasperated. "Why is Owen showing a lot of supernatural abilities, and Landon is showing like, zero?"
Later, Lindsey and Ryan were talking to them.
"Owen and Landon are real brothers," Ryan explained. "But Owen has like two other bloodlines in his system."
"Well, if Owen has two other lineages different than Landon's, it explains why Owen is showing supernatural abilities and why Landon isn't," Madison told them.
"So what does that mean?" Nicola asked. "I mean, if Owen has two other lineages different than the one he shares with Landon, and Owen's blood is bursting with magical traces, but Landon has none?"
"We don't know yet," Lindsey admitted.
"Which means you need to find out more about Owen and Landon's past," Ryan told them.
From 1.12 "There's a Mummy on Main Street", in Tory/Luke's office, Tory, Luke, Lyla, Kaylin and Nicola were talking.
Nicola sighed. "Ric, Lizzie, Josie, Kaylin, Rae, Hope, Madison and I can go on the trip. Tory, Luke, if you, Lindsey and Ryan want to stay back here with Danny, Emma, Lyla and Ariara and try and help Kaleb, I think that's a good thing. So I definitely think it's a good idea to work with them, one at a time. I can try and help MG again when I get back, you know, Ripper to Ripper. We've been doing that for a while, but not as long as I would like."
From 1.12 "There's a Mummy on Main Street", in Emma and Ariara's dorm room, Ariara was looking at the sketch of her family sadly, touching the face of Acqulina, then Ahish, then Acilino, then Arlette, remembering her pleasant, close family moment with her family before the war had gotten them killed.
Tory: (voice over from 1.12 There's a Mummy on Main Street) "Ariara's upset lately because of the anniversary of the other Natas dying is coming up soon. So we figured that if Ariara's helping us, at least she's distracted, and she won't have a high chance of losing control."

Same Night - Day One
Night - Salvatore Boarding School - Lindsey/Ryan's Room
Tory, Luke, Lindsey and Ryan were settling things down for the night.
Kaleb walked in. "Lindsey? Ryan? Tory? Luke?"
"Kaleb," Lindsey greeted. "Thought that you would have gotten tired of us for the day."
"I know I sure am tired of everything for one day," Luke told them.
"I can't find MG," Kaleb explained.
"What do you mean?" Ryan asked.
"I just checked in with his hall monitor, but he missed curfew," Kaleb answered.
"Well, we got to find him," Tory told them. "This is not the night for vampires to be walking around unchecked."
-
Werewolf Transition Facility
Kaylin and Nicola were checking the werewolf transitional cells. Emma, Danny, Rae, Hope and Madison walked closer.
"Have you seen Owen and Landon?" Hope asked. "We thought they might be down here with Raf for moral support."
"Raf's not here," Kaylin told them.
"Wait, they're..." Rae trailed off. "What?"
"The supervisors said he didn't check in," Nicola explained. "And according to Tory, Lindsey, Luke and Ryan? MG's missing too."
Emma frowned in concern. "Ariara's not in our dorm room either."
"And it's a full moon," Danny told them. "Emma, Dad and I aren't turning because we have moonlight rings, but..."
"And Ariara's out there now?" Madison asked. "On a night close to the anniversary of the death of the entire Nata kingdom?"
"Oh, God," Hope said.
They heard howling in the distance.
They all were really worried.
-
Woods
Tory, Luke, Ryan and Lindsey were walking together to try and find the missing teens.
"I don't know why our locator spell didn't work," Tory admitted.
"If we can't find them, it means they're being cloaked, or..." Lindsey trailed off.
"Or they're dead," Luke finished. "We're aware."
"What would possess them to leave campus?" Ryan asked.
"Something must have happened," Tory told them.
They found Rafael by a gate, and Ariara further away in the trees, stopping in surprise.
"Guys," Lindsey said.
They ran closer to check on them.
"Ariara?" Ryan asked. "Ariara!"
"Raf?" Luke asked. "Raf, come on."
"Hey, are you okay?" Tory asked.
Ariara was barely awake, her eyes flashing gold, slit like a snake.
Rafael was out of it, as weakened as she was, but more. "MG... Owen... Landon..."
"Hey, what's going on?" Lindsey asked. "Where are Owen, Landon and MG?"
"Ariara, where's your bracelet?" Luke asked. "Where's the bracelet to help you with control of your shift?"
Ariara looked at her wrist to see that the bracelet was missing. She looked up and shook her head. "I can't remember."
Tory, Lindsey, Luke and Ryan looked at each other worriedly.
-
Worlds Colliding (Legacies)
-
Salvatore Boarding School - Common Area
Tory, Lindsey, Luke and Ryan had brought Rafael and Ariara back to the school, having them sitting down.
Kaylin, Nicola, Rae, Hope, Madison, Emma, Danny and Lyla walked closer worriedly.
Emma ran closer to check on Rafael. "Raf? Raf!" She looked at her adoptive cousin worriedly. "Ariara?"
Lyla ran closer to her adoptive cousin. "Ariara?"
"Stay back," Kaylin told them. "They're dangerous."
"We know what's going on with them," Luke told them. "It's the same thing that was happening to Ariara when Kacie and Mikayla first brought her to the school two years ago. The reason why she was having so many issues until they and Eliza found that remedy for her."
"What?" Lyla asked.
"Shifting psychosis in Ariara's case," Ryan answered. "Lunar psychosis in Rafael's."
"Shifting and lunar psychosis?" Rae repeated. "We knew it was the thing for Ariara, but you're telling me it could happen to wolves too?"
"Quit talking," Ariara told them. "Making noise."
Ariara's claws grew as she tried to keep herself from lashing out. Her serpent tail nearly grew as well but she was fighting to not lose control of the shift.
Rafael growled, jumping at them.
Tory, Rae and Lyla all stepped forward, using mind control on Ariara and Rafael to make them calm down and stop before they could shift or hurt anyone, helping them sit back down.
Danny looked at Rae to answer her question. "It apparently can happen to wolves too."
Emma knelt in front of Ariara and Rafael worriedly. "What did you do to them?"
"It's okay," Rae assured. "We just calmed them down. Slowed down their hearts. Kept them from shifting."
Rafael was breathing heavily as Emma took his hand. "What's happening to me? I keep... losing time."
Ariara's lip quivered as she tried to focus her mind enough. "This condition... it means that our minds are in flux, trapped between animal and human states, making it harder to bridge the gap and access our memories like we normally would. Shifting would become a problem as we've seen with me."
"It's very rare," Nicola told them. "It only happens after a premature reversion, like what happened to Ariara in Kiesha'ra when Kacie and Mikayla saved her. The trauma of seeing the Nata kingdom dead after losing her family... causing enough trauma to make her shift back before she was ready."
Madison looked at Rafael. "So something caused your body to shift back before the full moon was over. Ariara shifted sometime tonight, and something made her shift back before she was ready to."
"What kind of something?" Lyla asked.
"Something like what happened the first time this happened to Ariara, when the other Natas died," Kaylin admitted. "Trauma."
"Something bad happened," Hope declared.
"We don't know that," Nicola told them.
Madison had tears in her eyes. "Five of them left, and only two came back? Something bad happened."
Tory shook her head. "Hope, Madison, why don't you give us a minute? Go on and check on the wolves."
"What about Ariara and Rafael?" Hope asked.
"Hope," Rae said softly. "Madison."
Hope and Madison looked at them worriedly.
"Come on," Danny told them. "It's okay."
Upset for them, worried, Kaylin placed her hands on Hope and Madison's shoulders. "Come on. We'll go with you."
Nicola was just as worried because of how fast she was with going to take care of Owen and Landon, but she refused to believe that they were gone. "Come on. Let's go."
Kaylin, Nicola and Rae led Hope and Madison out of the room.
-
Hallway
Kaylin, Nicola and Rae led Hope and Madison into the hallway.
Hope and Madison, fearing the worst for Landon and Owen, froze, looking at each other with fear in their eyes, trembling.
Nicola stopped in front of them, gripping the wall next to her as she tried to remain calm and strong for Hope and Madison, though she was extremely worried and fearful for them as well.
Kaylin and Rae turned to face them worriedly.
"Hope?" Rae asked. "Madison? Aunt Nikki?"
"Something bad happened," Madison told them. "Kaylin, Rae, something really bad, if it did this to Ariara and Rafael. And if Owen and Landon and MG are missing."
"Owen and Landon are dead, aren't they?" Hope asked. Kaylin and Rae didn't know how to answer. "Kaylin? Rae?"
Nicola looked down, shaking her head. "Please tell me that they aren't dead. After everything that we have all already lost... Owen and Landon cannot be dead too."
Kaylin looked at them worriedly. "I don't know. But whatever happened, we will figure it out."
Hope and Madison were trying not to cry.
Nicola closed her eyes, putting a hand to her head. "I was supposed to protect them. I promised that I would take care of them."
"Nikki..." Kaylin trailed off. Hope and Madison started to cry. "Hope. Madison."
Rae, in pain to see Hope, Madison and Nicola in so much pain, had tears in her eyes, as both she and Kaylin embraced them comfortingly, trying to reassure them, as all five tried to be strong.
-
Common Area
Lindsey, Tory, Luke, Ryan, Danny, Emma and Lyla were about to help Ariara and Rafael to their dorm rooms.
"What's the danger of Rafael turning wolf again?" Lyla asked. "I mean, this whole building is filled with sleeping vampires."
"Don't worry," Lindsey told them. "Once we get them back to Emma/Ariara and Danny/Rafael's rooms, we'll keep them sealed in. Ariara could be a danger too if she loses control again. What their minds need now is to be surrounded by all the things that are familiar to them, that connect them to their humanity, not their animalistic natures."
Emma and Danny both put a hand on Ariara and Rafael's shoulders to cast a spell to help them. "Corum spiritus."
"Ariara, Rafael, we'll do everything we can to help you, but you need to tell us exactly what happened," Luke told them. "Ariara, you were helping me, Tory, Lindsey, Ryan, Emma, Danny and Lyla with Kaleb, and then you got upset because of your anniversary of Kiesha'ra, you left, and you disappeared. Rafael, you were supposed to be here on campus for spring break with Owen, Landon and MG, and now we can't find either one of them."
Ariara frowned. "I don't remember."
"Raf, what's the last thing you remember?" Emma asked.
Rafael took a deep breath. "Talking to you, before the assembly, when we..." Emma knew that he was talking about when they had kissed. "Everyone was leaving. Heading home for spring break."

Flashback
Earlier That Day
Day - Salvatore Boarding School - Grand Hall
Lindsey and Ryan were talking to the students.
"All right, everyone, listen up," Lindsey told them. "Absolutely no one leaves campus unless you're in the custody of your guardian. Now, with the full moon approaching, this rule especially applies to our wolves. Now, you know the drill. Vampires to your dorms. Wolves to your bunkers. Absolutely no exceptions."
Ryan nodded in agreement. "Just because we have a cure for werewolf bites doesn't mean they won't hurt like hell. Now, for those of you who are staying behind, we have some activities planned to ensure that your..." MG gave Ryan a card to read. Ryan read the card, going along with it. "Vacation will be the... dopest, coldest... spring break ever!" There was laughter from the students, including Owen, Landon, Rafael and Kaleb. Emma and Danny smirked at their father. Lyla giggled. Ariara chuckled. Hope, Rae and Madison smiled. At the back of the room, Kaylin, Nicola, Tory and Luke smirked. "All right, here's MG, everybody."
Lindsey and Ryan walked away from the podium.
MG stood at the podium to speak to the students. "Are your mom and dad... dead? No place for you in human society? Does being alone leave you triggered? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, it's okay. The Holiday Committee has your back."
Sitting behind Rafael, Kaleb tapped on his shoulder to get his attention. "Hey, bro. I need you to do me a favor. Can you look after him while I'm doing blood therapy with the Davis-Thompsons and Nata? Nicola wants to help MG after she, Kaylin, Rae, Hope, Madison and the Saltzmans get back, and Ariara, Lindsey, Ryan, Tory, Luke, Lyla, Emma and Danny wanna help me."
"Yeah, I know," Rafael told him. "Emma told me before the assembly."
Kaleb nodded. "Ice princess told you this? Whatever. MG's doing this little 'happy act' thing, but... he gets really weird around holidays."
"Why?" Rafael asked.
Kaleb sighed. "His family... they... they never invite him home. So, you know, just... hit up his little events and..."
Rafael groaned softly. "Mm."
"Come on, man, it--it's the least you can do," Kaleb told him. "Especially after getting down and dirty with the love of his life." Rafael turned to look at him in surprise. "Oh, yeah, everybody knows." Rafael looked at people nearby. "Yeah, them, too. They know."
Rafael sighed, giving in. "All right, uh, whatever, bro. Me and--and Owen and Lan will hang with your boy, all right? It's not like we have anything else to do."
"Yeah, since all your girlfriends have stuff to do," Kaleb agreed. Rafael turned to look at him, puzzled. "Antisocial queen Emma tells you her family plans to help me out? You see her in a dream when we fought the dream demon. She sings Heart Attack during the mind control slugs. Your poem. It's not that hard to figure out, man."
Rafael looked toward Emma, busted, a little sheepish. "Emma's not... I don't know."
Kaleb shrugged. "Whatever though."
Rafael and Kaleb did a handshake and fist bump from over Rafael's shoulder.
-
Common Area
Owen, Landon and Rafael were sitting down, playing trivia games with MG.
MG cheered as he hit a bell. "Survey says... you just got owned. Don't be mad. This stuff is in my blood. My dad's a trivia god. We play games like this all the time. Uh, we used to. You know, before the..."
Landon sat up straighter. "Wait, so let me get this straight. You died and then became a vampire, and then your dad just... ghosted you?"
"Pretty much," MG answered. "Uh, I hear from my mom all the time, and she just says, like, he's busy. Um, either way, we don't talk."
MG looked down sadly.
"Well, maybe you should," Landon told him.
Owen looked at Landon curiously, raising an eyebrow. "Or maybe some things are better left unsaid, right, Lan?"
"Sure," Landon answered. "But, I mean, the whole point of having a family is so you can... be an actual family. Talk about stuff. Look, what I'm trying to say is, if you want answers... I hope you get them. Because I would do anything to avoid another round of Faction Feud."
Owen sighed, leaning back in his chair. "Please tell me that you're not thinking about what I think you're thinking about."
-
Outside - Woods
Owen, Landon, Rafael and MG were on their way out of the gate into the woods.
Ariara was in the woods, about to take off her bracelet, but stopped when she saw them. "Owen? Landon?" The boys made a face when they realized she caught them. "Rafael? Milton? Where are you going?"
"Hey, Ariara," Rafael told her awkwardly.
"Um, we're just taking MG to go see his family," Landon answered. "Get some answers for him."
"Your idea, not mine or Rafael's or MG's," Owen replied. "Don't blame us, Ariara. Blame Landon."
"Thanks, Owen," Landon told him sarcastically. "Anyway, what are you doing out here, Ariara?"
"I was trying to get some air, wanting to shift and go for a run if I could control myself enough," Ariara answered. "I just needed to be away from everyone to do it."
"Why?" Owen asked.
MG realized. "It's close to the anniversary of the death Kiesha'ra. You can't control the shift and you're worried about hurting people." Ariara nodded sadly. "Ariara, I'm so sorry. I didn't remember."
"You just did," Ariara pointed out. "Tonight's a full moon, boys. You shouldn't be going out."
"Well, we'll be back by then," Landon told them.
"Yeah, that's what he said to get us out the damn gates," Rafael explained.
MG walked closer. "Look, Ariara, I know that you're trying to look out for us. And Landon has a point about me wanting answers, though he's being pushy on me getting them."
"Like he was being pushy on me for us to get answers from our mother," Owen remarked.
"So we could try to get answers on what the hell we both are," Landon replied.
MG ignored him, looking at Ariara. "You said it yourself, you can't be around the school right now. You're afraid of losing control. That bracelet helps to a degree, but not completely. And Owen, Landon and Rafael aren't my friends, not really, but you are, Ariara. I'd like you to be there. But we're going."
"Yeah, and nothing's gonna stop us," Landon told her. "I mean, you could try and narc us out to Lindsey, Tory, Luke and Ryan, who are in there with Emma, Danny, Lyla and Kaleb, but probably not a good idea to get us all in trouble when they're trying to help Kaleb with his feeding habits. Nicola said that she would help MG again when she got back with Kaylin, Hope, Rae, Madison and the Saltzmans. What's it gonna be, Ariara? Narcing us out to the Davis-Thompsons, or coming with?"
Ariara looked conflicted, frowning.
-
Now
Night - Salvatore Boarding School - Common Area
Lindsey, Tory, Luke, Ryan, Emma, Danny and Lyla were in front of Ariara and Rafael.
Ryan got worried. "No. Please tell me you didn't take MG home."
Lindsey turned away worriedly.
"We didn't think it was that big of a deal," Rafael admitted.
Ariara started to remember. "I caught them on the way out. I was trying to stop them, but... MG asked me to come along. He wanted me there as a friend, since I was actually his friend, and Owen, Landon and Rafael were just there because Kaleb asked Rafael to keep an eye on Milton. He knew that I was upset about the anniversary, and he wanted to take my mind off of it, hoping that taking me from the school could help me. Milton's family was just right over the state line in Maryland. We were supposed to make it back before the full moon."
"Yeah, well, you didn't," Lyla told them. "And now we're here."
"Lyla," Danny told her. "Sass can come after everyone is healthy and safe."
Tory sighed worriedly, putting a hand to her head. "Rafael, Ariara, I am sorry. We're not mad at you. We're mad at ourselves."
"For what?" Rafael asked.
"We were helping Kaleb, and we didn't notice that you guys..." Luke trailed off.
"That was the point of the sneaking off," Emma pointed out. "They knew that we were busy and that's why they took off. Owen, Rafael and Ariara didn't want to, and sounds like MG didn't necessarily want to either. Landon did."
Lindsey sighed. "Ryan, Luke and I got to go. We've got a big mess we need to clean up. Tory, help Emma, Danny and Lyla get Rafael and Ariara to the dorm rooms. Kaylin, Nicola, Hope, Rae and Madison are here if you need help."
"Keep us posted on what you learn, okay?" Ryan asked. "We'll have the school phone on us."
Luke sighed. "Let's go."
-
Hallway
Luke went to go get Kaleb, knocking on his door.
Kaleb opened the door, wearing a tank top and shorts, a sleeping mask and slippers. "What's up?" Luke gave him a weird look. "What? Uh... did you find my boy?"
"Uh, no," Luke answered.
"I thought you guys said, and I quote, 'everything will be fine, we'll handle it'," Kaleb told him.
"Yeah, that's why I'm here," Luke told him. "We need your help. And so does MG."
-
Emma/Ariara's Dorm Room
Kaylin, Nicola, Hope, Rae and Madison had moved Ariara to her bed. Kaylin took out a needle.
"What's with the needles?" Madison asked.
"Sedatives," Kaylin answered.
"Sleep isn't really a priority," Hope pointed out.
"But safety is," Nicola countered. "Ariara told us why Tory and Lindsey couldn't track her, Rafael, Owen, Landon and MG. Penelope Park aided them in a cloaking spell before she left for break."
"She said it was a gift to Rafael for breaking up with Lizzie on her birthday," Ariara explained.
Rae nodded sarcastically. "Great. Then what happened?"
Kaylin applied the sedative to Ariara's arm so that it could keep her in control. Ariara was tired but able to stay awake, trying to think.
-
Flashback - Earlier That Day
Day - Street
MG, Ariara, Owen, Landon and Rafael walked down the street.
"For the record, I didn't know that stealing a car was part of the plan," Ariara told them.
"No, it's not stealing if you return it," Owen told them. "Ask Kaylin. She said that the car she has, her brother Stefan helped her steal it back when."
They watched as two women walked by.
Landon chuckled. "You got some vicious street gangs around here."
"Why do you think we parked in an alleyway?" MG asked. "Everyone thinks I'm dead. I can't be seen here."
They arrived to the Greasley House, seeing political signs in the front yard with the family name on them.
"You never mentioned your dad was a politician," Rafael pointed out.
MG frowned in confusion. "He's not. At least he wasn't. He's running for mayor?" Landon continued walking while the others stopped. "Maybe Owen, Raf and Ariara are right. Maybe this is a mistake."
"No," Landon disagreed.
Owen sighed, rolling his eyes. "Landon--"
"The truth is never a mistake," Landon told them. "Took me a long time to figure that out."
-
Now
Night - Salvatore Boarding School - Danny/Rafael's Room
Tory, Emma, Danny and Lyla had moved Rafael to his bed.
Rafael was hallucinating a bit, freaking out by a half memory. "Owen! Landon! No!"
"It's happening again," Emma told them worriedly.
Tory put her hands on Rafael's head to use mind control to calm him down, relaxing him so that he wasn't in pain.
"Wait, he's about to tell us what happened to Owen and Landon," Lyla told them.
"And if Rafael or Ariara stay in this state any longer, it'll be that much harder to pull them out," Tory pointed out. "Lyla, I'm trying to find the memory in his head, but the memory is somewhere between his human mind and his wolf mind, and that could take a while to search his memories for. and it could hurt him. It could hurt Ariara if Rae tried to do it to her too."
"I'll go tell Rae," Danny told them.
Rafael was stuck in between the mind of human and wolf. "Owen! Landon! Run!"
Danny left the room.
Emma knelt in front of Rafael worriedly. "Raf! Hey, it's okay. It's okay." She looked at Tory and Lyla. "He won't be okay unless he remembers what happened to Owen and Landon. That's how much they mean to him."
Lyla put a hand to Rafael's head to help Tory with searching and healing his mind. "Who's chasing Owen and Landon?"
"A monster," Rafael answered, falling forward into Emma's arms as she helped him stay up.
Emma held Rafael worriedly.

Day Two
Morning - Salvatore Boarding School - Hallway
Kaylin, Nicola, Tory, Rae, Hope, Emma, Danny, Madison and Lyla were talking while Rafael and Ariara were sleeping in their dorm rooms.
"It doesn't make any sense," Madison told them. "Triad has the urn. Rosalita gave it to Clarke."
"There shouldn't be any more monsters, certainly none that made their way through Maryland," Rae agreed.
"They're obviously confused," Danny told them.
"We need to wake them up," Hope told them.
Tory shook her head. "Sleep is the safest thing for them right now. Once Rafael's out of this lunar cycle, we'll be able to recalibrate his brain more easily, and Ariara... recalibrating hers has always been hard because of dealing with three animalistic sides of her brain and body."
"Which means that we're gonna have to call Kacie, Mikayla and Eliza to come back and help us with the treatment for Ariara if we ever want her to become better again," Kaylin told them worriedly.
Nicola nodded in agreement, worried. "Kacie, Mikayla and Eliza are the only ones that can help Ariara completely."
"But Ariara and Rafael are the only ones who know where Owen, Landon and MG are," Madison told them.
"Plus, monster?" Lyla asked.
"We heard," Danny told them. "But we have to make sure that Ariara and Rafael are both gonna be okay."
"Hope, Madison, I know that you're worried about Owen and Landon," Emma told them. "I know that Nikki is too. But we all are worried about Ariara, because she's family, going through this for the second time. And I'm worried about Raf."
Madison put her hand to her head. "I know, Emma. I'm sorry."
Rae looked at Tory. "We talked a lot about triggers rooted in trauma. That Ariara was going to have issues with control around the anniversary of the death of Kiesha'ra, the other Natas." Tory nodded in agreement. "That's why it was easy for her to lose control even after the treatment from Aunt Kacie, Aunt Mikayla and Aunt Eliza."
"Plus whatever else she saw," Kaylin agreed.
"Whatever else happened," Nicola agreed.
"We need answers," Hope told them.
"And you'll get them when we do, causing the least amount of harm to Ariara and Rafael as possible," Tory told them.
Danny nodded in agreement. "I can't believe this is happening to Ariara again. Or to Rafael."
Hope had tears in her eyes as she looked into Emma/Ariara's room to look at Ariara worriedly. "I know. I'm so worried about Owen and Landon, Danny. And I wanna find them. But I can't do anything to hurt Ariara either. She's my cousin. Adoption or not, because of Aunt Mikayla. Just like she is to you, Emma and Lyla, because of Aunt Kacie."
Emma nodded tearfully. "Ariara's gotten through this before. I know she can do it again, with our help. With Aunt Kacie, Aunt Mikayla and Eliza's help. But Raf?"
"They'll be okay," Rae told them. "We have to believe that Owen, Landon, Rafael, Ariara and MG are all gonna be okay."
Madison held a hand over her lips, nodding, taking a deep breath to steady herself. "Whatever you have to do to help Ariara and Rafael... do it. And we can do the same for MG, Owen and Landon. Somehow."
Lyla became determined, though she was just as worried. "We can help Ariara and Rafael. And find Owen, Landon and MG. We will."
Tory, Kaylin and Nicola nodded, moved by all that they were saying, all three worried and concerned, and upset as well.
-
Flashback - The Day Before
Day - Greasley House - Outside
Veronica Greasley had just opened the door to see Rafael, Ariara, Owen and Landon outside. "I'm sorry, who are you and why are you here?"
MG was standing behind them, taking off his sunglasses, edging around them to look at his mother. "Uh, hi, Mom."
Veronica was surprised to see her son. "Milton. I wasn't expecting you."
"It's spring break," MG pointed out.
Veronica sighed. "Yes, I know. But I thought we agreed it would be best for you to stay on campus."
"Well..." MG trailed off.
Landon waved awkwardly. "Uh, Mrs. Greasley, hi. I'm Landon Kirby. This is my brother Owen Church, our foster brother Rafael Waithe, and a friend to all of us, Ariara Nata. Owen, Rafael and I, we're new at the school and--and we didn't really have anywhere to go for spring break, so we sort of, uh, talked your son into a spontaneous road trip, and Ariara was having a bad time at school, and MG asked her to come as a friend to help them both out, so..."
Owen held up a sarcastic hand. "Uh, if I may input."
"Which you always do," Landon replied.
"Because you always make hasty decisions for the rest of us," Owen retorted. "I've been against this since you got the idea. Ariara tried to talk us out of it and get us back to the school, and Raf and I said listen to her, but nooo, of course not."
Veronica crossed her arms.
Ariara gave Owen and Landon a look, who both backed off.
MG looked at Veronica nervously. "We obviously came at--at the wrong time, so I'll just say hi to Dad, uh, and we'll be on our way. Where's he at?"
Veronica looked nervous. "Your father is not here. He's..."
Ariara looked toward the sign in the yard. "Running for mayor."
Veronica narrowed her eyes at Ariara before looking at MG. "The governor thinks he has a great shot at winning."
MG raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Y'all know the governor now?"
"A lot has changed since you... died," Veronica told him.
MG nodded sadly. "Yeah, I can see that."
"You know we love you very much, Milton," Veronica told him. "But the world thinks you're dead. If someone were to see you walking around in your old hometown..."
"Then let us in," MG told her. "I just want to see Dad."
"Your father doesn't want to see you," Veronica stated. "His faith is everything to him. And you know there's no room in his belief system for people dying and coming back to life."
"Except for Jesus," Owen retorted.
"And Lazarus," Landon added.
Rafael and Ariara gave Owen and Landon a look.
Veronica glared at Owen and Landon, turning her gaze to MG. "He'll come around. It's just gonna take some time for him to get used to the idea."
"That's his loss, then," Rafael told them. "Let--let's just go, guys. Come on."
Ariara linked her arm with MG's sympathetically to lead him away. "Come on."
Rafael, Ariara, MG, Owen and Landon walked down the steps of the house to continue on their way.

Now
Day - Greasley House - Outside
Lindsey, Ryan, Luke and Kaleb walked up to the Greasley house.
Kaleb shoved his hands in his pockets. "Damn. When you said MG going home would be catastrophic, I expected Chernobyl, not Wisteria Lane."
"Yeah, well, looks can be deceiving," Luke replied.
"Just... let us do the talking," Lindsey told him, ringing the doorbell.
Veronica opened the door. "Lindsey. Ryan. Luke."
"Veronica," Ryan greeted.
Kaleb offered his hand to Veronica. "I'm Kaleb."
Veronica ignored him completely, looking at Lindsey, Ryan and Luke. "I assume you're here to apologize for my son showing up yesterday."
"Actually, we're here because he never returned to school," Ryan answered. "He's gone missing, and... we're afraid he contacted his father."
"Well, I can assure you that didn't happen," Veronica told them.
They heard Terrance Greasley's voice further in the house. "Veronica, who's at the door?"
"Uh, just a solicitor, dear," Veronica lied. "I'll be right in."
"So where'd MG go?" Kaleb asked.
"I don't know," Veronica told them, looking at Lindsey, Ryan and Luke. "But you're gonna find him. We may not be able to have him here with us, but he was supposed to be safe at your school. I had an agreement with the three of you and Tory, and I expect you to uphold it."
Veronica closed the door.
Luke rolled his eyes. "Bitch."
"Yep," Kaleb agreed. Luke, Ryan, Lindsey and Kaleb turned around, walking down the steps. "An arrangement, huh? Good thing that don't sound suspicious. Hello? Why'd you bring me all this way if you're not gonna tell me anything?"
"Because we're not happy about it," Lindsey answered. "The arrangement. We'll explain later."
Ryan was making a call back to the school, putting the phone on speaker.
Kaylin, Nicola and Tory were the ones to answer.
"Did you find them?" Kaylin asked.
"No, not yet," Ryan answered. "What did you learn?"
"Ariara's out of it bad, flashing back and forth between her distant memories with Owen, Landon, Rafael and MG, and memories from Kiesha'ra, the other Natas," Nicola answered. "Rafael said they got attacked by a monster."
"Well, that's impossible," Lindsey told them.
"Is it?" Tory asked.
"Where and when?" Luke asked.
"I--I don't know," Kaylin told them. "I don't know. We sedated them, and they've been sleeping it off for hours."
"But I have an idea," Tory told them. "If Rae, Lyla and I can bridge the gaps in Ariara and Rafael's minds, we can get access to both, and find the memories that we need to find, without harm to them, but it'll take time."
"All right, well, be careful," Lindsey told them. "We need to find Owen, Landon and MG, but we can't hurt Ariara and Rafael to do it."
"But we have got to find MG before his father sees him," Ryan told them. "And get him, Owen and Landon back to safety. Just... Ariara's been through this once already. I can imagine that going through it a second time, especially this time of year around the anniversary is gonna be even more hell. Just make sure Ariara and Rafael are okay too."
Nicola nodded. "We are, Ryan. We're trying. We will take care of Ariara and Rafael. You guys take care of finding Owen, Landon and MG."
"We will," Luke answered. "Nicola, I know that you, Hope and Madison are worried about Owen and Landon, but they're gonna be fine. Just like MG, Ariara and Rafael."

Salvatore Boarding School - Emma/Ariara's Dorm Room
Ariara was sleeping the sedative off, tossing and turning from the flashes of memories in her mind, going from broken, fragmented memories of what happened to the boys, and the memories that she was tortured with, one of the battles of Kiesha'ra, the battle where her brother Acilino, and her parents Acquilina and Ahish were killed.

Flashback
Kiesha'ra
Day - Battlefield
(Song:) Throne - Neoni and Rival
The battle was about to begin. The Nata warriors were on one side of the battlefield. Golden eagles, lions and serpents were ready to fight. Ahish, Acquilina, Arlette, Ariara and Acilino stood in the back, ready as well, though all were devastated at how much they had all lost.
A golden eagle flew closer, landing next to them. "They come, Your Highnesses, in numbers and weapons far greater than our own."
"Numbers do not win a battle," Ahish pointed out.
"No," Acquilina agreed. "But they sure do help."
They saw the opposing side arriving onto the battlefield, with many more creatures, their army vast and strong.
The queen of the opposing side was led along in her carriage by two shapeshifting bears.
Acquilina and Ahish looked at Acilino, Arlette and Ariara.
"You shouldn't be here," Ahish told them.
"There's no place we'd rather be," Arlette told them.
"This is our fight, too," Acilino told them. "You can't keep us from it."
"We're here, together, as a family," Ariara told them. "Until the end."
The battle horn sounded, as there were battle cheer from both sides.
The opposing queen looked at her warriors. "I have no interest in prisoners. Kill them all."
The opposing side started to run toward the Nata warriors, having to cross the huge battlefield to do it.
Ahish waved his arm, a signal for all of the golden eagles to take flight and lead the charge. All the eagles were dropping large rocks to take down some of the opposing army, though some of them could be struck down by arrows shot up to them by the warriors.
Ahish looked at his family. "Are you with me?"
"To the death," Acquilina answered.
"We do this together," Ariara told them, reminding them what they had said to their parents in a flashback.
Ariara, Arlette and Acilino spoke together. "Together."
Acilino turned back to the front of the field. "For Kiesha'ra!"
The serpents, in human form, were riding horses toward the battle. The lions started to run, at the head of the charge. Ahish, also a serpent, rode his horse toward the battle.
Acquilina made her shift into her animal form, as her eyes turned dark golden. Her nails were like eagle talons but also claws like a lion. Log pointed horns started to grow from her head as pure golden eagle wings, shimmering and glowing with magical energy, started to grow from her back before her body transformed into the shape of a lion. She ran off the cliff the Natas had been on, diving into flight.
Ariara, Arlette and Acilino all made the shift into their animal forms, as their eyes turned dark golden, with snake slit pupils. Their nails were like eagle talons but also claws like lions. Long pointed horns started to grow from their heads as pure golden eagle wings, shimmering and glowing with magical energy, started to grow from their backs before their bodies transformed into the shapes of lions, with a huge, deadly serpent tails whipping around, running off the cliff they were on, diving into flight, flying alongside Animal!Acquilina, and though they were at the back of their army, in flight, they could overtake their speed to make their way to the front.
The two armies continued to run or fly toward each other. The serpents, including Ahish, lowered their spears to aim at the opposing side.
The armies reached other, and Animal!Ariara, Animal!Arlette, Animal!Acilino and Animal!Acquilina dove out of the sky to tackle groups of the opposing warriors at a time, ripping into them with claws, horns, and the siblings's serpent tails to tear their enemies apart.
Lions and tigers and panthers were attacking each other, lunging at each other in fight, tearing each other apart.
The serpents's spears were running through many of the opposing side, including Ahish's spear. They could turn themselves into serpents to jump out and attack the various creatures from the other side.
Many of the creatures were after the animal forms of the Natas, attacking them greatly to try and make them change back to human form in hopes that it would be easier to defeat them.
Snake!Ahish grew in size, a giant king serpent. He hissed at the opposing army in pure rage, lunging out to strike at each one of them to deliver them a deadly bite and dose of venom. He could leap around enemies, constricting his snake form around them to suffocate them and crush their chests and bodies and bones until they could die.
Animal!Acquilina used her golden eagle wings to fly closer to enemies, using her body of a lion to tackle them to the ground, tearing into them with her teeth, her claws and her horns mercilessly in hopes of protecting the kingdom and ending the war.
Animal!Acilino roared furiously, using his serpent tail to fling off his enemies, biting them intensely so that the venom from his serpent side would deliver them to death, leaving them unconscious for now.
Animal!Arlette jumped around to fling off her enemies, spinning to attack them, stabbing them deeply with her horns, roaring in their faces as she used her serpent tail to bite them and poison them, leaving them unconscious until they would die.
Animal!Ariara roared loudly and intensely, driving her horns into her attackers, throwing her head to the side to throw them off, using her tail to bite them all over the place to render them unconscious until her poison would kill them.
The opposing queen was pulled closer in her carriage by the bears.
Seeing that the queen was getting closer, Acilino returned human to give an order to their army. "Fall back! Draw them to the rocks!"
The Nata kingdom army started to fall back to the rocks, so the soldiers up there could shoot the enemies down with bows and arrows.
The opposing army was getting closer.
Seeing that griffins were making their way toward Acilino to attack, Animal!Ariara flew closer to tackle the griffins, grabbing them tightly with her teeth, tackling them to the ground, tearing them apart, roaring.
Ariara, Arlette, Ahish and Acquilina all returned to human form, all drawing swords from sheaths on their backs, spinning them around, holding them up, having swords ready.
Acilino was using his sword to disarm many.
A man tried to strike Acilino from behind.
Arlette came in from the side, raising her sword to block the blow, twisting the swords down, slashing into him twice, making him fall. She turned to Acilino smugly, smirking. "Bring back memories of when I used to beat you?"
"That never happened," Acilino denied.
Ahish was marching down the battlefield, fighting the army coming for him. A knight swung at Ahish. Ahish ducked, slashing through the knight, throwing him aside. He spun around to slash into another soldier, running his sword through another in the stomach, ripping his sword out, throwing the body to the ground.
Acquilina was marching down the battlefield, fighting the army coming for her. A knight swung at Acquilina. Acquilina leaned back to make him miss, slashing thorugh the soldier's stomach, kicking him aside. She spun around to slash into another soldier, running her sword through another in the stomach, ripping her sword out, the force of the movement making her hair bounce in the air dramatically. She watched the bodies fall, continuing on.
While Ahish was fighting a man, a soldier tried to strike him from behind while he was distracted.
Acquilina ran closer to use her sword to block the move of the soldier. "It will take more than a coward like you to kill a Nata."
Ahish stabbed the man he was fighting with in the stomach, ripping his sword out to kill him, letting him fall.
The soldier pushed Acquilina and her sword away with his sword. They parried and struck and blocked each other's blows. Acquilina kicked the soldier to the ground, raising her sword up high to strike him from above with a killing blow, but the soldier had a dagger up his sleeve that was coated with a black substance, and stabbed Acquilina in the chest just as she had stabbed him in the heart. Acquilina dropped her sword in pain.
Ahish turned to face her in concern. "Acquilina?" Acquilina fell into Ahish's arms, her blood and the black substance from the knife flowing over her skin, gown, and Ahish's hands as he held her. "No!"
Acilino, Arlette and Ariara saw this, looking at their parents in shock and horror, running closer. "No! Mother!"
Acquilina shook her head. "Go. Leave me. Ahish, take Ariara, Acilino and Arlette and go."
"Acquilina, no," Ahish told her.
"You must," Acquilina told them weakly. "You have to fight. Survive."
As a bomb went off nearby, the Natas all ducked, taking cover behind a boulder together, as Ahish, Acilino, Arlette and Ariara all had tears burning in their eyes as they had to watch Acquilina get weaker and close to death, leaving the other four Natas in rage and despair as they struggled not to cry on the battlefield, trying to pull themselves together to continue their fight to survive.
"You heard your mother," Ahish told them. "Go. Go!"
Acilino, Arlette and Ariara cried, running off.
Acilino, distracted by the fate of their mother, was shot in the side with an arrow that glistened with blackness just like from the knife that Acquilina had been stabbed with, screaming in pain.
Ariara, Arlette and Ahish heard his scream, turning to face Acilino to see what was wrong. Acquilina could barely turn her head because she was so weakened.
The opposing queen was making her way toward Acilino, raising her sword.
"Ahish, go," Acquilina told him. "Go! They need you."
Ahish slowly put Acquilina on the ground gently, brushing back her hair, standing to go back to the war.
Ariara ran closer to use her sword to block the move of the opposing queen before she could strike Acilino. The queen tried to stab Ariara with her sword, that was coated with the same black substance that had poisoned both Acquilina and Acilino. Ariara avoided being stabbed by the poison, using all her strength behind the force of her own sword to slam down on the queen's sword, shattering her sword so that the queen could not poison or kill her. They blocked and parried with other swords. The queen drove her sword into Ariara's stomach. though that sword was unbroken and it did not have the black poison on it.
Acquilina, Ahish, Acilino and Arlette saw this. "Ariara!"
Ahish marched his way through the crowd to try and get to Ariara and the queen, slashing his sword into all of the men coming for him, killing all those in his path in a rage over his dead wife and his urgency to protect his children. A soldier jumped out from behind a boulder to strike Ahish from behind in the back with his sword, which was coated in the black poison that had poisoned Acquilina and Acilino before him, also poisoning Ahish. Ahish gasped, turning back to the knight behind him as he reached behind him to his back, slashing his sword across the knight's throat to kill him. He held his wound as he screamed in pain.
Ariara, Acilino and Arlette had seen this, horrified, devastated, knowing now that their father's death was nearly upon them as well. "Father!"
Acquilina gasped in pain as she was forced to watch, trying to get her body to heal, but her wound was smoking with blackness, her chest wound getting worse. "Ahish!"
Ahish fell to his knees weakly. "Arlette! Acilino! Go! Save your sister!"
"But Father--" Arlette started.
"Go!" Ahish shouted.
Arlette and Acilino were near tears as they had to go help Ariara fight the queen, though knowing that their parents would be close to dying any minute. Acilino forced himself to go on, though weakened, his wound smoking with blackness. Arlette spun around through an oncoming crowd of enemies, slashing them all with her sword, claws, and using her snake tail to throw them all away.
Acilino got to the queen first, slashing his sword toward her. The queen used her unbroken sword to block the move. They continued like this for many times, parrying each other's moves, until the queen slashed Acilino in the chest, making him fall.
Ariara stood, already starting to heal since she was not poisoned, using her sword to parry and fight with the queen. The queen drew another sword, crossing both her swords as she thrust them toward Ariara's head. Ariara arched back to make the swords miss, looking at the crossed swords right over her head, using her swords to maneuver them away, pushing the queen back. The queen continued to try and fight. Ariara was able to use her swords and her own fast reflexes to dodge and make her miss. The queen slashed Ariara in the back of the leg, pushing her down next to Acilino.
Arlette jumped in front of her siblings with two of her own swords, using them to block all of the queen's moves, spinning around, slashing toward her, though the queen could block her moves as well. Arlette spun around, using her swords to knock the queen's feet out from underneath her, stabbing both of her swords into her arms to pin her down, making the queen scream. She glared at her, picking up another sword, driving it through the heart of the queen with a yell, making her scream in agony as she killed her.
Knowing that the queen was dead, her army was retreating, leaving in a hurry.
Arlette sighed heavily. "It is finished. For now." Ariara and Arlette helped Acilino up, running to check on Acquilina and Ahish. The family of five huddled behind a boulder for safety, though the war was over and the opposing army was gone due to the death of the queen, but they couldn't take any chances. Acilino, Acquilina and Ahish's wounds were all smoking with blackness, all of them closer to death. Their eyes were filled with blackness as well now. Arlette was horrified, worried. "Why aren't you healing? Your eyes..."
"The arrow and swords must have been poisoned," Ariara answered. "They've got fevers. We need to keep them warm."
"It's dark magic... poison," Acquilina told them weakly. "Black magic. We have no sure for it."
"Ariara..." Acilino trailed off. "Arlette... we're dying. Like most of our kingdom now."
Arlette and Ariara started to cry.
"No," Arlette told them. "Father, Mother, we are going to save you. We have to save you, Acilino."
"You can't," Ahish told them. "There is nothing that can save us. No one in our kingdom has the power to save us from this. The poison is too strong."
"It is our time," Acquilina told them weakly.
Arlette shook her head, crying. "No."
"I know you will make us proud, as you always have," Ahish told them.
Acilino took Ariara by the hands. "You have to lead them, Ariara. You are the only one who can now. We knew this could happen. If I were to die, as I am now... you would become queen."
"You are the heir to the throne," Acquilina told her. "It is your time to rule. If anyone can bring the war to an end, it's you."
"This war will not end until we are all dead," Arlette told them.
"Don't let that be so," Ahish told them. "Ariara, Arlette, I'm sorry. We love you."
"We love you," Arlette told them.
Ariara cried. "We love you. Acilino, stay with us. Mother... Father..."
"You will be a great queen," Acquilina told her.
Ariara shook her head. "I'm not ready."
"Yes, you are," Ahish told her. "You've been ready for some time, Ariara."
Acilino managed a weakened, pained chuckle. "Probably more ready than I have ever been."
"You can't die on us," Arlette told them. "We need you." Acquilina, Acilino and Ahish's eyes turned black again as the blackness completely filled their eyes. As Acquilina, Acilino and Ahish died in front of them, Ariara and Arlette broke down into tears, sobbing. "Ariara..."
Ariara held Arlette in her arms, letting her little sister cry into her shoulder as they looked at their dead parents and brother in front of them.

Day - Salvatore Boarding School - Emma/Ariara's Dorm Room
Ariara sat up, screaming, trapped in the memory, crying.
Hearing the scream, Rae, Kaylin, Nicola, Hope and Madison ran inside, to Ariara's bed. "Ariara?"
"What do we do?" Hope asked.
"How do we help her?" Madison asked.
Rae reached to Ariara's head, closing her eyes, focusing, mind controlling Ariara to stillness and calmness, helping her to relax and go back to sleep.
"Was she remembering Owen, Landon and MG, what happened to them?" Nicola asked worriedly.
"No, she was remembering the day when Acquilina, Ahish and Acilino died in front of her and Arlette on the battlefield," Rae answered. "Before she was engaged to Xavier and before the final battle of the Nata kingdom."
"What did you do?" Kaylin asked.
"I just helped relax her," Rae answered. "Trying to bridge her mind to help her and us sort through her memories. To try and see what we can find."
Hope sat next to Ariara, holding her hand, tears in her eyes to see her adoptive cousin going through so much pain, while also worrying about her boyfriend and scared that he could be dead, along with Owen and MG. Nicola and Madison were just as worried and desperate. Kaylin and Rae were trying to be there for everyone, trying not to show how worried they were so that they could be strong for everyone else.

Danny/Rafael's Dorm Room
Tory, Lyla, Emma and Danny were with Rafael. Rafael was sitting up. Tory and Lyla had just gotten done with trying to bridge Rafael's wolf mind to his human mind, without harming him.
Emma knelt in front of Rafael. "You said that you saw a monster."
"I did?" Rafael asked.
"Yeah," Lyla answered.
"I don't--I don't... I don't remember that," Rafael admitted.
"Okay," Danny agreed. "Aunt Tory, Lyla, what do you see? I mean, maybe Ariara or Rafael's memories could tell us where Owen, Landon and MG are before Mom, Dad, Uncle Luke and Kaleb can find them."
"We just have to be careful in searching their minds right now, or it could do them more harm than good," Tory admitted.
"It's okay, Tory," Rafael told her. "You and Lyla just do whatever you got to do. Anything to find Owen and Landon."
Tory and Lyla nodded worriedly in concern.
"Lyla, you focus on his human mind, and I'll focus on his wolf mind," Tory told her.
Lyla nodded in agreement. They stood on either side of Rafael to do as said.

Flashback - The Day Before
Day - Alleyway
MG and Ariara were sitting in the car.
Owen, Rafael and Landon were standing outside.
Rafael looked at Landon. "I know you think you're helping, but you're not. I mean, just look at him."
They looked into the car where MG was sitting with Ariara.
Landon sighed. "Just take it from somebody that's been kept in the dark his whole life."
Owen rolled his eyes. "We all went through the same thing. We've all been in the dark our whole lives. Some of us get the truth, some of us don't. Doesn't mean that we have to make others get the truth."
"But at least he knows the truth, which is better than not," Landon told them.
"And sometimes the truth hurts," Rafael replied. "You two know that better than anybody. Hey. His dad is religious. If Hector and Maria taught us anything, it's what? Religious people aren't too flexible about their beliefs."
MG peaked his head out the window. "Hey. Raf's right. My dad's not gonna want a vampire in the family. It is what it is."
MG shrugged, sliding back in the seat.
"It is what it..." Landon trailed off. "Or maybe it's worse. Look, I took that from your parents's mailbox." He handed MG a newspaper. "Your dad became a prominent figure after he gave a sermon that went viral, a sermon about how he would give anything to have you back. It is one thing to cut you out of his life. It is another thing to use your memory to get votes."
Ariara shook her head, concerned. "We can come back another time. It's only a couple hours until moonrise."
Landon shrugged. "We can do both." He looked at MG. "Your dad is giving another speech tonight. And--and it's on the way home."
Owen was trying not to get annoyed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Lan, please, stop pushing."
"Landon, I don't know if this is--" Ariara started.
Landon cut her off, looking at MG. "Listen to me. I would give anything to ask my mom and dad why they gave me and Owen up. Why we had to spend our lives apart." Owen tilted his head, sighing. "You actually have a chance to."
-
Church
Terrance Greasley was practicing his sermon in the empty church. "When my son used to get in trouble, he'd always say, 'But, Dad, you're forgetting about all the good things I did today.'" Ariara, MG, Owen, Landon and Rafael walked into the church. "After I lost him, everything in the world seemed bad. But I'm not going to let despair win. I am running for mayor because my son taught me a valuable lesson. Because I don't want us to forget all the good we still can do."
Landon looked at MG. "What are you waiting for?"
MG shifted his weight. "For starters, I can't feel my legs, so..."
Terrance looked up. "Someone there?"
MG cleared his throat, stepping into the light to where his father could see him. "If you're so concerned with... doing good, you might want to take the time to see your own son."
Terrance's eyes widened. "Milton? Is that you?"
"Yeah," Owen muttered. "Obviously."
Terrance looked at MG in shock. "Good Lord, my eyes must be playing tricks on me."
MG shook his head. "It's me. Same son you're preaching about. Who's apparently gonna win all these elections for you. Who you haven't called in... almost a year."
Terrance looked at the cross on the wall. "Lord, if this is a test, clear my eyes and let me see the truth."
MG frowned, confused. "Pops. Don't you love me anymore?"
Terrance embraced MG tightly. "My boy. My beautiful boy. I prayed and prayed. And the good Lord brought you back to me."
"Prayer's cool and all, but you could've just picked up the phone," MG told him.
Terrance sniffled. "I saw you on that terrible night. With my own two eyes, I saw you. Now you're here, risen. A miracle sent to me from our Lord in Heaven."
Ariara realized. "Oh, my God. He thought that..."

Day - Salvatore Boarding School - Danny/Rafael's Dorm Room
Tory and Lyla were still bridging Rafael's wolf and human minds so they could see, and he could remember, bits and pieces of what happened at a time so that it didn't harm him or overwhelm him, while Danny sat nearby. Emma knelt in front of Rafael.
Danny frowned in confusion. "Wait, wait, wait. So you're saying that MG's dad didn't know he was a vampire?"
Tory shook her head, sad. "MG's dad thinks he's dead."
-~-
Rafael sighed. "We didn't want to leave MG behind, but it was getting late. And we knew that I had to get back before I turned, and..."
Rafael shuddered, shaking his head.
"What?" Emma asked.
Rafael looked at her sadly. "We didn't make it back on time, Emma."

Flashback - The Day Before
Night - Woods
Owen, Landon and Ariara had finished chaining Rafael to a tree.
Ariara walked away to lean against a tree a little bit of distance away. "That should be good."
"You sure this is gonna work?" Rafael asked.
Owen shrugged. "Oh, to be honest, bro, this is actually a first for me. But if you have a better idea, I'm all ears. Hmm."
"A better plan would have been not leaving the school at all, like I told you," Ariara pointed out.
"Well, excuse me for wanting to help MG," Landon replied. "And MG wanting to help you by giving you a better distraction from the anniversary of the other Natas--" Ariara gave him a look. "Sorry."
Rafael leaned forward against his chains. "And now we're all screwed."
"Don't worry," Ariara told him. "If you break free, I can turn and I can make sure that you can't hurt anyone. Or tear Owen and Landon apart."
"Thanks for that, Ariara," Owen told her sarcastically. Ariara smirked sarcastically, shrugging. Owen turned to Landon. "So, what? We--we couldn't find our parents, so you--you made MG get answers from his? That's not right."
"Answers that made his life better," Landon argued. He pointed at Rafael. "Why don't we talk to the guy who won't even have the conversation?"
"What conversation?" Rafael asked.
Owen shrugged. "The conversation you have been avoiding all week." He held up the key. "And, hey, look at that. I have the key to the padlocks. So we're having it."
Rafael shrugged. "I don't know what you're talking about."
When Rafael shrugged, the chains clinged.
Landon sighed. "Raf. Come on, man."
"What?" Rafael asked.
Owen shrugged. "They do say love makes you do strange things."
"What are you talking about?" Rafael asked.
"Why can't you just admit your feelings for Emma?" Landon asked. "It's so obvious, a blind man could see it."
Ariara chuckled. "I saw it before Josie and Lizzie's birthday party, and asked for Hope and Rae's help to help see if we could get you and Emma to admit it before."
Rafael looked at Ariara in realization. "Wait, that's why you asked Hope and Rae to lock me and Emma in the gym?"
"Because I saw you two liked each other but wouldn't admit it and were using hostility to cover it," Ariara answered.
Owen gestured to Ariara. "So even the animal princess saw the thing between you and Emma, and had Hope and Rae lock you two in a gym for you two to figure that out yourselves? An animal princess that has a manipulative side, apparently."
"That I use for good," Ariara defended.
"Hey, no judging," Landon told her. "Kind of cheering that part on."
"So, come on, Raf," Owen told him. "You can't deny it anymore. Just admit it. You like Emma. A lot."
"You want me to admit that I think about Emma all the time?" Rafael asked. "Or that I care about Emma more than anyone other than my brothers? That I don't know what I will do if anything happened to Emma?"
"Yeah," Landon answered simply. "See, that wasn't so hard."
"Why didn't you just tell us before?" Owen asked.
"I didn't know what to say," Rafael answered. "She tried to kill you two."
"Look, we know that Emma was under influence of Rosalita and black magic, okay?" Landon asked. "We know that wasn't her fault, Rafael. You don't have to feel guilty for falling for her."
Ariara managed a small smile. "I happen to know that she feels the same thing for you that you do about her. Even though feeling that deeply for someone kind of scares Emma given our family's tendency to lose people."
Rafael sighed. "I know. I know Emma feels the same."
"Did you and Emma kiss?" Owen asked.
Rafael looked away.
Landon chuckled. "Taking that as a yes. You and Emma together?"
"I don't know yet," Rafael admitted. "We talked about it, but..." He got annoyed and embarrassed by the questioning. "If it was so obvious to everyone, even Kaleb, then why did you just make me say that?"
"Even Kaleb knew?" Ariara asked. "That... never mind."
"Because, Raf, we have seen what happens when you bottle stuff up inside," Owen answered. "Sooner or later, that bottle's gonna shatter. And we hate seeing you in pain. But you, with Emma... you seem happier. And we wanted to see you be happy for once. Even if you two don't know what exactly you are yet."
Landon smiled, patting Rafael on the shoulder.
Rafael's transition took full affect, screaming in pain.
Landon jumped back in shock. "What do we do? What do we do?"
Ariara walked closer to help deal with the transition. "Stand back."
Owen and Landon backed away.
"You know more than us, princess," Owen told her.
"You got to get out of here," Rafael grunted. "Grab MG and steer clear of the woods until morning."
Rafael's eyes started to glow gold.
Landon shook his head. "No. There's no way. We're gonna stay right here."
"We're gonna get through this together, like we always have," Owen told him. "Ariara can handle the change. She knows how to help wolves like you." They heard a growl in the forest, causing the three boys and Ariara to look around, but they saw nothing. "What the hell was that?"
"I don't know," Ariara told them.
"Ariara," Rafael groaned. "Ariara, get Owen and Landon out of here."
"We're not leaving without you," Landon told him.
Rafael's bones snapped. "I said..."

Now
Day - Salvatore Boarding School - Danny/Rafael's Dorm Room
Tory and Lyla were bridging Rafael's wolf and human minds so they could see, and he could remember bits and pieces at a time so it didn't overwhelm or hurt him. Danny sat nearby.
Emma knelt in front of Rafael, having been filled in on the conversation in the woods about her between the four teens, looking stunned, touched, but still so incredibly worried about Rafael, Ariara, Owen, Landon and MG.
Rafael was still in the memory. "Run!"
The shout caused the other four to jump slightly.
Emma calmed Rafael down, handing him some water. "Hey, hey. Here, here, here, here. Drink this. It's okay."
Rafael took a drink to calm down.
Danny looked at Tory and Lyla. "What did you see? What were they running from?"
"I don't know," Tory admitted. "The memory's see fragmented. We have to keep going, but we have to be careful so we don't hurt him while doing so."
"Then take a break," Emma told them. "Aunt Tory, Lyla, please, because I don't want anything bad to happen to Raf while doing this, or Ariara. I'm worried about Owen, Landon and MG too, but..."
Lyla reached out to take Emma's hand. "It's okay, Emma. We have to stop for now so it doesn't damage him anyway."
Danny placed a hand on Emma's shoulder. Emma sighed, looking down.
Danny looked at Tory. "Did you see where the woods were?"
"No," Tory answered. "I couldn't tell where. But Rafael and Ariara could lead us there." She turned to Rafael. "Do you think you can do that?"
Rafael nodded. "I think so."
Tory sighed. "Okay. Lyla, go siphon the boundary spell off of Emma and Ariara's room, I'll siphon the one in here. Tell Kaylin, Nicola, Hope, Rae, Madison and Ariara that we have a plan to get answers. Maybe that'll set them more at ease until we get there."
-
Night - Woods
Lindsey, Ryan, Luke and Kaleb got out of the school car, closing the doors.
"This is the place Tory talked about," Luke told them. "Rafael and Ariara said that it happened somewhere around here."
"Tory happened to mention that arrangement you four made with Mrs. Greasley, too, when she called?" Kaleb asked.
Ryan sighed, turning to explain. "MG's mother enrolled him in the Salvatore School without his father knowing that he was still alive. She didn't think his dad could handle the fact that MG was a vampire. Our arrangement was to keep that a secret."
They continued on.
Kaleb chuckled. "Shady. Now I get why Danny, Emma and Ariara called you guys the Frankenstein Family. Besides, you know, all the other stories about all of you. Shadiest part being you guys saying yes to that arrangement."
"We didn't want to," Lindsey told him. "But we didn't want to turn MG away, either. I mean, admittedly, it's a bit of a gray area."
"No, it's not," Kaleb told them. "Life is black and white."
Luke scoffed a chuckle. "You're a teenager, Kaleb. A smart one. Too smart sometimes. But when you have been through what we've been through and seen what we have seen, you'll learn that life is rarely that simple."
"But you, Kaleb?" Lindsey asked. "You, Rae, Hope, Emma, Danny, Madison, Lyla, Ariara, Owen, Landon, Lizzie, Josie, MG, Rafael? The other students in the school? We believe that you kids can make the future of the supernatural world a lot better than it is, and what it has been. The kids who still have a lot of good to do. You can make it better. You just have to believe in yourselves as much as Luke, Ryan, Tory, Kaylin, Nicola and I believe in all of you."
Kaleb looked moved by the words, nodding slightly.
They continued on.
Luke paused. "Do you smell that?"
"Okay, what is it?" Lindsey asked.
"Blood," Luke answered, leading the way through the woods to follow his hybrid tracking skills, with Kaleb, Lindsey and Ryan following.
Eventually, they saw a form laying on the ground up ahead.
"MG?" Ryan asked.
"Is it MG?" Lindsey asked.
Luke walked closer. "It's MG."
Kaleb ran to his friend's side. "MG!" Luke, Ryan and Lindsey ran closer as they all knelt to his side. "MG, MG." MG was alive, groaning in agony, but bitten by a werewolf. "Damn it. Damn it, oh, my God."
Lindsey tried to comfort MG. "It's okay. It's okay."
"All right, take it easy," Luke told him.
"Lindsey, Ryan, stay away from me," MG told them. "I can't control it."
"Shh," Ryan told him. "It's okay. We're here. We're here. Just tell us what happened."
MG was shuddering, shaking. "There are demons all around me. Beast horns and devils's tongues."
"What the hell is wrong with him?" Kaleb asked.
"He's delusional," Lindsey answered. "Which means only one thing."
Luke pulled back MG's shirt to reveal the wolf bite on his stomach. "He's been bitten."
"He's a vampire," Kaleb told them. "We do the biting."
"By a werewolf," Ryan clarified.
"Rafael," Kaleb realized. "He said he saw a monster. He is the damn monster."
Lindsey tried to keep MG calm. "Oh, my God."
"The infection's spreading to his heart," Ryan told them.
"If he was bitten last night, he's got maybe an hour," Luke explained. "Two, tops."
"What?" Kaleb asked worriedly. "The cure. G--give him the damn cure you were talking about."
"Hope's blood is the cure," Lindsey told him. "The same as her father."
"Let's just wish that Kaylin, Nicola and Tory can get here soon with Ariara, Rafael, Emma, Danny, Hope, Rae, Madison and Lyla," Ryan told them.
Luke rubbed his lip, sighing anxiously. "Yeah."
"Just stay with us, MG," Kaleb told him. "All right? We got you, we got you."
-~-
Luke hung up his phone.
"Why aren't they picking up the phone?" Kaleb asked.
"I don't know," Luke admitted. "They must have left the building, okay? And we have the school phone with us."
"Okay, well, now would be the perfect time to add cellular privileges to the school," Lindsey told them.
MG, hallucinating, shook his head. "Don't say that. Pop, why do you--why do you got to say that?"
"Hey, hey," Kaleb told him. "MG, stay with me. Stay with me, okay? Stay with me, man."
"I just want to go to sleep," MG whispered.
Ryan shook his head. "No, no, no, no. That's--that's not an option. Okay? We have to keep him awake."
Kaleb nodded in understanding, looking at MG. "So, talk--talk to me more about your pops. Just--just talk to me."
MG left his eyes closed weakly. "He was really happy to see me. He didn't know I was there. And I didn't know how to tell him."

Flashback - The Day Before
Day - Church
MG was sitting in a pew.
Terrance was standing next to him. "Your mother. We got to go back home and tell your mother."
"Uh, sh--she knows," MG told him. "I told her. She... wanted me to spend some time alone with you."
Terrance sat next to MG. "Oh. Well, then, let's go across the street to Tippy's diner and talk it over. Almond crumble, two scoops of vanilla. Like we used to every Sunday after mass, huh?"
MG smiled. "Yeah, um, I am kind of starving, but somebody might see me."
"I want the whole world to see you," Terrance told him. "Shout it out to the rooftops. My boy is back by the grace of God."
MG frowned. "Yeah, but... your campaign. No one will believe that it's real. They'll think you lied for votes."
Terrance shrugged. "Well, if I lose an election over that, so be it. The truth is the truth."
MG became nervous. "About that... I--I have something to show you. And I don't think you're gonna like it, but you taught me to--to live by my truth, and--and I want to honor that." He took Terrance's hand, using a needle to prick his finger, whispering to himself. "Okay, you got this."
"Son, what's happening?" Terrance asked.
MG sighed worriedly. "Don't hate me for this, Pop. I'm not human anymore." He slowly turned his head toward Terrance, his eyes transformed. Terrance gasped, standing, backing away. "I'm sorry."
"Dear God," Terrance said in fear.
MG stood. "Look, it's okay. It's okay. I'm--I'm working on controlling it. There's this school that I go to, and--and..."
Terrance held up a hand to stop him. "In the name of almighty Jesus, get out of here! Begone!"
"Pops, it's--it's me," MG told him. "It's Milton."
Terrance pointed at him. "You're a demon."
MG rushed closer, compelling his father. "Stop! I'm a vampire. And I know you don't understand that, and I barely understand it myself, but that doesn't mean that I'm evil. I--I just have to try harder to be good. And I'd--I'd tell you to speak your truth, but I kind of have superpowers, so... you don't really have a choice. And I want to know... Tell me... how do you feel about me right now? Me, your son?"
Terrance could only glare at MG. "My son is dead."

Now
Night - Woods
Lindsey, Ryan, Luke and Kaleb were taking care of the bitten MG.
MG was crying. "He didn't want me anymore."
They looked at him sadly, sympathetically.
"Listen, it takes time," Lindsey told him. "It takes time for some parents to understand."
"I'll go back there," Luke told him. "I'll compel his intolerant ass."
MG shook his head. "Don't bother, Luke. I took care of it."

Flashback - The Day Before
Day - Church
MG was pleading with his father, crying. "I'm still your boy, Pop. Th-The boy who--who sat here and watched you practice your sermons. But Mom was right. You're better off thinking that I'm dead." Crying, he compelled his father once more. "So you didn't see me here today. But always believe that... you're gonna see the... the boy that you love... again."

Now
Night - Woods
Lindsey, Ryan, Luke and Kaleb were taking care of the bitten MG.
Kaleb sighed. "Know what? You're better off, man."
MG shook his head. "He was right to be afraid of me, 'cause I can't control it."
"Yes, you can," Ryan told him. "You can control it, okay? You've been working real hard at it with Nicola, and when we get back to school, you're gonna keep working hard."
"I can't go back to that school, Ryan," MG told him. "Not after what I did."
"Hey, hey, you didn't do anything," Kaleb told him. "It's your sorry-ass parents, okay? They're the bad guys, not you."
MG shuddered. "You're wrong. I'm a killer."
"What's he talking about?" Lindsey asked.
Kaylin, Nicola, Tory, Hope, Rae, Emma, Danny, Madison, Ariara, Lyla and Rafael ran closer.
"Mom?" Emma asked.
"Dad?" Danny asked. "Uncle Luke?"
Ryan sighed in relief. "Oh, thank God you guys made it."
"What--what's going on?" Rae asked.
"MG has a werewolf bite," Luke answered.
"He doesn't have much time," Lindsey told them.
Ariara looked at her friend worriedly, walking closer. "What?"
Ariara paused in place when she saw MG laying on the ground like that, as if coming out of a haze.
Rafael looked down at MG. "I bit you."
Lyla looked up at Rafael. "What?"
"This is all my fault," MG cried. "Raf, Ariara, I'm so sorry."
Kaleb frowned. "What, sorry? What are you sorry for? Rafael's the one that should be sorry. He's the fool that bit you."
Kaleb stood to try and go after Rafael.
Danny held Kaleb back. "Kaleb, stop."
Rafael and Ariara started to remember, both groaning.
Ariara held her head in pain as all sides of her brain were at conflict, like going to war with each other, causing her great pain. "No, no, no, no."
Emma tried to calm them down. "What's wrong?"
"What's going on?" Kaylin asked.
"What?" Nicola asked in concern.
"I remember now," Rafael answered, his face cold and emotionless. "Tory, Lyla and Rae helping me and Ariara. His face. Being back here. I remember who the monster was. Monsters."
Ariara had tears in her eyes as she remembered. "So do I. I was one of them."
Ariara struggled not to cry from what she remembered now.
Rafael shook his head. "It wasn't your fault, Ariara."
"What are they talking about?" Madison asked.
Tory walked closer to help. "Here, shh. Don't push yourselves."
Rae, Tory and Lyla helped bridge the gaps between their animal and human minds to help them without harming them.

Flashback - The Day Before
Night - The Woods
Rafael was still chained to the tree, leaning forward, his eyes glowing gold. "I said, run!"
Owen shook his head. "We told you, we are not leaving you alone."
They heard more of the growls.
Ariara stepped forward, ready to fight if necessary. "Who is out there? Come out and face me." MG walked out of the darkness, walking closer. "Milton?"
Owen sighed. "Damn it, MG. You scared the hell out of us."
"MG, you can't be here," Rafael told him. "I'm about to turn. It's not safe."
MG looked at Landon. "For him. 'Cause I'm about to kick his ass."
"What?" Landon asked. "Why?"
MG rushed toward Landon, pushing him into a tree "This was all your fault. You made me come here. You rang that doorbell. You showed me that paper. And you put all your crap on me."
Rafael tried to reach out. "Owen! Owen, get me out of these chains."
"MG, I'm sorry," Landon told him. "What happened--" MG punched him in the face. "Okay, I deserve that."
"MG, calm down," Ariara told him, trying to soothe the situation. MG looked at his hand, blood running down it from Landon's face. Ariara became very concerned. "Look at me. Milton." MG looked at Ariara. "No. MG, you can fight this."
"You have to fight this, please," Owen told him. "MG."
MG started to cry. "You don't understand." Rafael's transition continued as more bones broke. "I don't have anything left to fight for. My dad was right. I'm a monster."
Ariara shook her head worriedly in concern. "You're not."
MG's face started to transform, lost in rage to the bloodlust and his own anger from what happened that day, knowing that Ariara was having control issues recently because of the anniversary coming up, ripped off her bracelet that allowed her to control her shifting.
"MG, no!" Rafael yelled. "She can't control it!"
"Ariara!" Owen told her worriedly.
Ariara struggled not to shift, groaning in agony.
"Ariara..." Landon trailed off.
Ariara's body was forced to start the shift, as her eyes turned dark golden, white snake slit pupils, nails like eagle talons but also claws like a lion. Long pointed horns started to grow from her temples as pure golden eagle wings, shimmering and glowing with magical energy, started to grow from her back before her body transformed into the shape of s lion, with a huge, deadly serpent tail whipping around.
Rafael tried to talk her into control. "Ariara, come on. You can do this."
MG's vampire face was like a trigger to Ariara's animal form, causing her to stagger back as the human part of her tried to get control back, but the three animal sides had control now, and the snake tail was whipping around deadily while it lashed out uncontrollably at the boys. Landon, Owen and MG ducked, though the next time the snake whipped, it slit and bit into Owen's neck, delivering the deadly poison that had killed many before.
Owen groaned in pain, holding his neck.
Landon and Rafael were horrified. "Owen!"
MG rushed toward Landon, transformed, biting deeply into his neck to feed and ravage completely.
Rafael broke free from the chains from wanting to help his brothers, horrified. "MG, no! Ariara!"
Owen, getting weaker because of the poison, fell to the ground, seeping into unconsciousness. Animal!Ariara had slashed into him a couple times, but the human part of her was trying to get control back, making herself back away.
MG had drained the blood out of Landon, letting his body fall to the ground next to Owen's, his throat nearly ripped out.
Rafael looked at Landon and Owen's bodies on the ground, traumatized, horrified and devastated, screaming.
-
Now
Night - Woods
Everyone had been told what had happened.
Hope and Madison were immediately broken to hear this, gasping in devastation and denial. Hope fell to her knees, crying. Madison gripped a tree to keep standing, lowering to her knees as she cried, covering her mouth with her hand.
Nicola was devastated as well, tears in her eyes, and though she was used to losing the people she cared about like this, it never got easier, especially after she had promised to take care of Owen and Landon. She closed her eyes, lowering her head, starting to cry silently.
Rafael was crying over the deaths of his brothers.
Ariara held her head in agony as she was blaming herself harshly for being forced to lose control like that by one of her best friends, and ended up killing the boyfriend to Madison, one of her adoptive family members, when Owen was also a friend. She fought back the tears that stung in her eyes as she gasped in pain from trying to keep control, self-loathing and feeling guilty.
-~-
Kaylin, Rae, Lindsey, Tory, Luke, Ryan, Emma, Danny, Lyla and Kaleb were horrified.
Rae, having gotten close to Owen and Landon, and feeling all the sadness and devastation around, started to cry.
Emma sniffled.
Danny closed his eyes, looking down.
Lyla looked upset by all of it, but strong enough to power through like everyone else was.
Tory, Lyla and Rae helped mind control Ariara to stay calm so she didn't lose control.
MG was crying. "I did it. It was me. I'm the monster."
Ryan looked at Rafael. "When you finished your turn, you--you got loose and bit MG."
Lindsey closed her eyes. "Watching Owen and Landon die, Ariara having to kill Owen like that and blame herself that way, was too traumatic, too human, so you both reverted back and scrambled your memory."
Ariara shook her head, crying. "I don't want to remember any of this. I don't want to remember that my friend made me kill another friend... someone that a person in my family loved."
"It wasn't you," Rae told her softly. "Like Raf said, it wasn't your fault, Ariara."
"I'm so sorry, Ariara," MG told her.
Rafael started to walk away.
"Raf, where are you going?" Luke asked.
"Away from MG before I finish the job," Rafael answered.
"Raf," Tory told him.
Rafael turned to face them. "Landon and Owen's bodies are out there. I'm gonna go find them."
Rafael turned around to walk away.
"Emma..." Lyla trailed off.
Emma nodded. "I'll go."
Emma walked with Rafael, giving him the distance she thought that he would want, but being there for him all the same.
Nicola swallowed. "No."
(Song:) Church - Lawless - Valen
Kaylin and Rae knelt with Hope, Madison and Nicola, upset that they had to go through this, sympathetic and understanding, as Rae was also crying for the loss of their friends, as the five of them embraced tightly.
"I'm so sorry," Kaylin told them softly. "I'm so sorry."
"Why does this have to keep happening to us?" Madison asked, crying.
Kaylin shook her head sadly. "I don't know, Madison."
Ariara walked closer. "Madison... I'm so sorry."
"Don't blame yourself, Ariara," Hope told her.
Ariara took a deep breath, trying to pull herself and keep herself together. "My bracelet's out there. And I can remove the venom from Owen if it's..."
"If it's not too late," Hope finished.
Madison shook her head. "It happened last night, Ariara. It's too late."
"I have to try," Ariara told them, taking a deep breath, becoming very determined to try and right this wrong, marching off into the woods, following Rafael and Emma, to try and find the bracelet and the bodies, hoping to be able to reverse the damage done to Owen if it wasn't too late.
MG was shaking with sweat. "I was so mad. I wanted to h--hurt Landon. I didn't want his blood. I needed it. I needed all of it. I knew that Ariara would try to stop me. I knew that she couldn't control herself around the anniversary. So I ripped off her bracelet and made her turn. 'Cause I'm a monster. I'm a demon. So many demons in hell."
Lindsey tried to calm him down. "Okay, okay, all right, all right. Shh."
"Lindsey?" Kaleb asked. "Ryan?"
Kaleb looked toward where Kaylin, Nicola, Rae, Madison and Hope were kneeling on the ground, as they were trying to recover, indicating Hope because of her blood being needed to cure MG.
"Just... just give them a minute," Tory told him.
"But what if she won't..." Kaleb trailed off.
"She will," Luke assured.
Ryan nodded in agreement. "She will."
Nicola, Hope and Madison managed to pull themselves together. Kaylin and Rae helped them stand.
Hope looked at Kaylin. "I need your knife."
Kaylin nodded, taking out her knife, handing it to Hope.
Hope took the knife, slicing her hand open, kneeling next to MG, placing her hand over MG's mouth so that he could drink her blood. MG gripped her wrist as he drank.
Rae walked toward Danny, crying. "Danny..."
Danny wrapped an arm around her. "Shh."
Lyla looked into the woods. "Do you think they found them yet?"
Nicola took a deep breath. "Let's go find out."
Further away in the woods, Rafael, Emma and Ariara walked toward the site where everything happened. They stopped cold when they saw Owen and Landon lying dead on the ground.
Rafael walked toward Owen and Landon, kneeling next to them, crying.
Emma put a hand to her mouth in shock, breathing shakily.
Ariara tried not to cry as she was devastated to see Owen after she had been forced to kill him, knowing that it hurt Nicola and Madison in ways unimaginable. Emma wrapped an arm around Ariara.
Lindsey, Tory, Luke, Lyla, Ryan, Danny, Nicola, Rae, Kaylin, Hope and Madison walked closer.
Tory and Luke turned Lyla away, but she had been through worse and seen worse, though everyone was upset, reeling, devastated.
Nicola, Hope and Madison were devastated to see Owen and Landon like this, like everything shattered for them,
Nicola put her hand against a tree as if to keep balance, crying.
Madison and Hope sobbed, kneeling next to Rafael by the bodies, holding each other as they cried.
Kaylin, Rae and Danny were completely disconcerted to see this, knowing everything that came from it. Rae cried, while both she and Danny were mourning their friends.
Lindsey and Ryan looked down in guilt and sadness, feeling that they had failed in the worst way possible, for the school.

School Car
(Song:) Lost Without You - Freya Ridings
MG was sitting in the back row of a school car, healed, but feeling so guilty.
Kaleb got into the car, trying not to show emotion or weakness, but he clearly was just as shaken up about all of this as everyone else was, and he did care for MG like a brother. "I was trying to figure out why Lindsey, Luke and Ryan needed a wingman today. Now I know. It's 'cause they knew you would. I did learn something from them, Tory, Emma, Danny and Lyla when they were trying to help me yesterday, after Ariara left. The reason why they didn't know about all of this. Look, MG, being a vampire... it... it ain't everything I say it is. It ain't about power. Or blood. Or being better than other people. I guess I... just say that stuff to make myself feel okay with the fact that... people like you and me... we got a big struggle ahead of us. A hard life. And... But we can be in it together. It don't matter if your family don't get it." He scoffed. "It ain't black and white like that. Maybe they'll come around, maybe they won't. But hear this, brother. I'm your family now. Me. All right?" MG sighed, nodding. "All right. Let's, uh... let's go help them bring Owen and Landon home."
MG looked guilt ridden. "Everyone... everyone's gonna hate me now. Even Ariara, after what I made her do..."
"Ariara's your friend, and she's been through the worst of wars, literally," Kaleb pointed out. "I don't think she'll give up on you. And anyone who tries to come for you... they're gonna have to come through me."
-
Woods
Everyone else was with Owen and Landon.
Ryan sighed. "Oh, damn it."
Hope and Madison sobbed.
Kaylin and Rae tried to comfort Nicola, Hope and Madison again.
Danny and Lyla were comforting Ariara.
Emma went to comfort Rafael.
Lindsey, Ryan, Luke and Tory sighed heavily, blaming themselves for "failing" when all of this happened when they were helping another student with his own bloodlust and feeding, just feeling guilty that they hadn't been able to help everyone at the same time, when it was impossible to do so.
Tory found Ariara's bracelet on the ground, picking it up, walking toward her. "Ariara."
Ariara looked up. Tory put the bracelet on Ariara's wrist.
Hearing something coming, they all looked up.
Kaleb and MG walked through the woods closer to the group.
Rafael looked at Owen and Landon, before rising to his feet, glaring at MG, storming toward him.
Emma stood to stop him. "Raf. Raf, please. Raf, stop. Raf."
Madison stood. "Owen and Landon. Think about them."
Hope stood as well. "Landon and Owen wouldn't want this. They wanted us to be better. Give them that respect. Give them respect."
Rafael looked at them, nodding, his face crumbling as he started to cry again. Emma pulled him into an embrace comfortingly as he cried into her shoulder.
Hope and Madison held onto Kaylin, Rae and Nicola, as they looked to Lindsey, Tory, Luke, Ryan, Emma, Danny, Lyla and Ariara for support, all of them family by blood, adoption, or extended alike, the small part of the Frankenstein Family there for each other, as they shared embraces of comfort and devastation.
(Song Ends)
They noticed that Landon's body was starting to smoke.
"Uh..." Luke trailed off, pointing to Landon's body. "Am I delusional or do you all see this too?"
They all looked at Landon's body, confused.
"Put him out," Nicola told them.
Lindsey held out a hand. "Uh... Adiuuatur."
When Lindsey's spell didn't work Tory, Hope, Emma, Danny and Lyla tried to see if they could stop the smoke. "Adiuuatur."
Landon's body started to catch fire.
Rae tried to use her psychic power to stop the fire. "It's not working."
"What the hell is going on?" Kaylin asked.
Lindsey shook her head in confusion. "I don't know. I've never seen anything like it."
Landon's body continued to burn as they all watched in shock and slight horror, the flames high, bright, beautiful but terrifying.
A glowing tattoo appeared on Owen's wrist and on the back of his neck. The tattoos looked somewhat like wings.
"What the hell?" Danny asked.
"What's happening?" Madison asked.
Owen started to glow gold, brightly, as everyone backed away from the brightness.
The flames on Landon stopped.
Wings started to grow from Owen as he was glowing. The wings were blue and purple, but outlined in gold. Wings that protected him and could protect others.
Ariara realized what was happening. "Oh, my God."
"What?" Rae asked.
"Damn," Luke whispered.
Hope and Madison went to take a step forward.
Ariara stopped them. "No, not yet. I don't think it's over."
"What's not over?" Nicola asked.
"Ariara?" Ryan asked.
"There's been legends in my kingdom for centuries about something like this..." Ariara trailed off. "But I never thought that they could be real."
"What could be real?" Kaylin asked.
"We've been wondering if they're supernatural," Ryan told them. "We have our answer."
"What?" Emma asked.
The glow around Owen flared brightly, making everyone cover their eyes.
The ash around Landon started to shatter, revealing a hand underneath. Everyone watched the two in shock.
Landon broke out of the ash limb by limb, causing ash to fall around the gold lit forest and everyone in it, covered in ash and dust.
Owen slowly rose to his feet, still glowing gold, with his wings out behind him.
Landon slowly rose to his feet.
The glowing gold light started to fade, leaving everyone in darkness once again.
Kaylin, Nicola, Hope, Rae, Madison, Lindsey, Tory, Lyla, Luke, Ryan, Danny, Emma, Rafael, Ariara, MG and Kaleb looked at the newly resurrected Owen and Landon in complete shock and relief.
Owen looked at everyone, not knowing that he had wings out behind him. "What happened?"
"What's going on?" Landon asked.
Ariara looked at them in amazement, relief. "You ever heard of the legends of the Phoenix and Guardian?"
Owen's glowing tattoo/mark:
