𝒙𝒙𝒊𝒙. "come find me"

𝒓𝒚𝒂𝒏'𝒔 𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘

I WAS AWOKEN FROM my deep slumber in the middle of the nighttime randomly. It felt as if I've been sleeping for days, but my body still felt drowsy.

A weary yawn escaped from my lips. My throat felt parched. And I wanted to keep curling up in my cold and snug bed. But, knowing me, that most likely wasn't going to occur.

Ticking away the seconds of the morning, the clock placed on my dresser read 3:01 AM. Almost having a full nights rest, waking up at this hour definitely was aggravating. I wanted two more hours at least, but it is what it is.

Trying to run my fingers through my hair, I was stopped from a few tangles that knotted up. Most likely from me rustling around in my bed.

Surprisingly, my house was cooler than usual. Way cooler. It almost felt as if my father didn't even turn on the heat, which is something I was starting to get used to. It resulted in me quickly covering myself with my white bed duvet even more. My comfortable mattress rested under me, making me want to go back to sleep even more.

I don't recall ever being placed in my bed. The last memory I have was of Louis and I stargazing and falling asleep during the process. I was in the bed of my grandfather's truck, however. Not my own bed at home.

The only brightness in my bedroom was from the alarm clock placed on my dresser. Even though I knew I wouldn't have to hear it this morning, the sound of it echoed throughout my brain and it was irritating.

Soft breathing cut the silence in the atmosphere, honestly startling me a small bit.

Not knowing where the sound came from, I sat up in my bed. Chills went down my spine once the wintry air-conditioning hit my skin. It caused my teeth to chatter slightly. Another yawn left my mouth. But, this time my eyes started to water.

Wrapping my bedspread around my arms, I still tried searching for where the low breathing came from.

That's when I noticed a sleeping Louis, peacefully resting on a small home-made palette on my bedroom floor. I honestly wanted to laugh, but due to the time of night I decided not to.

Honestly, I had questions on why he was still here. But, I figured that I would find the answers to them later on in the morning.

The hardwood floors were uncomfortable, speaking from experience. Even though there was multiple blankets Louis had been planted on, I knew it was intolerable.

Slightly chuckling, I wrapped the comfy blankets around me even tighter.

My soft voice spoke, "Louis." Didn't budge at all. Due to my slight whisper, I suspected I wasn't loud enough. I reached down to the floor, still sitting on the edge of my bed however, and shook his peaceful body.

His chest breathed up and down calmly. I calmly waited for a response, even shaking him even more.

Louis' low eyes blinked a couple times before fully opening. Rubbing them, he whispered, "W-What?"

The boy's messy hair and puffy face looked admirable, along with his weary voice trying to ask why I'm waking him from his slumber.

"Come get in the bed, you rat."

I don't think it was too weird for him to sleep in the same bed. Since it was 3 AM and I didn't want him to sleep on that uncomfortable floor any longer.

A small grin crept upon his face before he quietly stood up. He wore blue plaid pajama pants and a plain white t-shirt, which I had no idea where it came from. But, I was too sleepy to quiz.

Throwing a pillow he was before sleeping with at me, Louis' drowsy body walked to the right side of my queen sized bed. I jumped slightly and snickered. The pillow soon fell off the bed and onto the floor.

Louis laid down, not caring how close he was to me or how he was laying. Which I found amusing. I heard a small yawn come from his mouth. I laid back down as well.

The two of us rested beside each other. We were close together, but not close enough to feel our shoulders side by side. I could still feel his presence beside me. He rested his head on the pillow beside my shoulder.

Closing my eyes, I felt slight rustling come from Louis, but I ignored it considering he was most likely getting comfortable.

The last words I heard from him before falling back into my slumber were, "You're the rat, by the way."

The warm scent of coffee emanates throughout the mud-room of my Grandparent's home and a waft of bacon grease delights the air. As all 4 of us take off our slippers or shoes, the tea kettle goes off loudly.

Winter mornings at Darr Family Farms are gorgeous, with the chilly fog and shining sun beaming down upon your skin. Usually, I'm not up early enough to appreciate it's beauty although.

Louis held Evie on his hip. The toddler's curls rested all upon the top of her head, along with some of them in her eyes. It resulted in her moving them every 5 seconds. Evelin's chubby cheeks were blushed from us standing out in the morning breeze a few moments earlier.

River, Evelin, Louis, and I decided to have breakfast over at my Grandparent's house. Since Grandma invited us, and she really wants to meet Louis.

Ever since my siblings and I have been little, we've been having breakfast almost every Sunday morning at our Grandparent's. I don't recall whenever it started, but it's just a family tradition that we love.

The clock placed on a counter read 8:50 AM. Knowing me, I'm never really up at this hour. Considering it's a Sunday and Sundays in my family are just for laying around and spending time with family. But, my growling stomach needed food.

Walking into the kitchen, Grandma's bright blue eyes darted over to us. The woman's lips curled into a smile, she sat her spatula down and ran over to us. She was standing in front of the oven, frying the bacon that I smelt earlier.

"My beautiful grandbabies!" She boasted, wrapping her arms around River's body. She hugged each of us, until she got to Louis holding Evie.

A smirk was placed on her face, she put her hands on her hips. "You must be the boy Evelin won't shut up about every time I see her!" Louis chuckled and looked at the toddler he was holding. She snuggled her head against his shoulder, from her still being sleepy.

"Yeah, I guess so." My grandmother engulfed Louis into a hug like he was one of her own grandkids, even though she hasn't ever met him before. "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Darr." She grinned once again.

"Call me Grandma Lyd, son."

We all sat at the bar or the dining table, waiting for the breakfast we looked forward to, to be finished.

Putting a pan of biscuits in front of us, Grandma questioned, "How was your birthday, Ry?" I grabbed a biscuit and started nibbling on it. It was hot and buttery, considering she got it out of the oven not too long ago.

"It was great." She nodded her head at me, and got out a plate for the each of us. Louis helped Evie set up her plate, along with his as well.

"Your grandfather was so happy to lend Louis his truck for the night. He never does that."

Chuckling, Louis took a bite out of the piece of bacon. I replied, "I was surprised too."

I mentally groaned over the remembrance that I have school the next day.

Even though I only attend high school 3 hours per day, getting up at 6 AM wasn't the most exciting thing in the world.

Earlier after I had woken up, my mother informed me that Louis and I got home around 2 in the morning. I'm guessing he woke up in the bed of the truck, since I have no memory of coming home that late at night.

But, she insisted on him staying the night. Since him taking a uber that late at night would be dangerous and she really just wanted him to stay anyways. So, I guess that's the answer to my questions early on this morning.

My Mother also enlightened me that Louis took off my makeup and such. Which honestly made my heart smile, as I appreciated it so much. But, hopefully, my mother helped me get dressed into my pajamas. If not, that would be very awkward.

"Where did you guys go?" Looking over at Louis, I watched him drink from a glass of orange juice. His eyes scattered towards mine, he waited for me to answer the woman. "Oh, um, we went to the beach."

Pouring coffee into a mug, she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

Even though she was in her 60s, you would never tell a single bit. Her azure doll-like eyes were the first feature you would notice if you took a look at her. She used to dye her hair now and then to get rid of her gray roots she dreaded. But now, she's not ashamed of it and embraces it.

And even though my Mother isn't her blood child, she got a lot of confidence tips from her growing up. Since she started living with them when she was only 18.

The two are absolutely stunning and both look way younger than they actually were. I hope when I'm their age I'm the same way.

"Doing?"

Clearing my throat, I answered my curious Grandmother, "Just talking and stuff." This time she raised her eyebrows. We both watched her lips curl into a smirk. I began to worry about what her next words would be. "Stuff? As in-"

"Dear God-" River mumbled, placing his head on the counter. He shook his head over and over in embarrassment because of our Grandmother.

I felt my face heat up in embarrassment as well. The woman in front of us laughed and laughed. Looking over at Louis, he was doing the opposite of what I thought he was doing. He was chuckling along with her, not uncomfortable at all.

Evie, still being tired, sat in his lap and rested her head on his chest. Considering she's 3 and has no idea what's happening, she just ignored everything and minded her own business.

Grandma teased, "Well, did you?" I took a bite of the greasy bacon and shook my head "no" at her. "No! We just talked!" She rolled her eyes at me. "Well, darn."

Placing her mug into the sink, she turned back around at us. She rubbed her arms, which were almost fully covered in tattoos that she had gotten in her 20s.

"We're sorry about her," River assured, causing Louis to laugh. "She does this with everyone we bring around her!" A sarcastic scoff left her mouth.

I questioned her, "Where is Grandpa?"

We all finished our breakfast around the same time. Even Evelin finished as well.

"He's out at the barn doing God knows what."

Nodding, I looked around the kitchen.

My grandparent's house is much older than ours. Considering my father built it a little after Sawyer was born. Even though it's older, it's still as beautiful and memorable.

The house had 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom, my dad's old room, my aunt's old room, and the last one was a room I remember us staying in as kids whenever we would sleep over. My home, along with theirs, are really the houses that built my siblings and I. I don't remember a day we weren't here, running around and being reckless.

Christmas decorations were hung all throughout their house as well. But, theirs were more festive and "Griswold Family Christmas" -esque.

"How about you kids go see him?"

Looking over at Louis, he gave me a nod and I glanced back at Grandma. "That sounds good."

"I'm going to step on you if you don't walk faster." I groaned. I watched Louis grab a stick off the ground, and just played with it as we continued to walk through the woods. "Yeah, cause your 5'4 ass can definitely step on me."

After we visited my grandfather at the barn, we decided to take Evelin back home. Considering it was almost her nap time, and she wanted to see our Mom anyways.

So, Louis and I decided to take a walk in the woods after. Random, I know. But, there wasn't much else we could do.

The vivid blue sky had Cirrus clouds swinging all throughout it. But, I could only see glimpses of it since it was covered by the tall and dead trees placed throughout the woods. This Sunday was absolutely delightful as it was mid-day. It was a bit chilly, but not as bad as it was this morning whenever we first arrived to Grandma's house.

My ears detected the soft crunching sound of leaves beneath us as we walked through the deep woods. Louis walked in front of me, I honestly had no idea where we were going. But, I followed along to wherever he headed towards.

Suddenly, he turned around, stopping us in our tracks. His blushed face and hazel eyes took a look at me. It caused my stomach to turn as I took a good look at him. Placing his hands into his hoodie front pocket, he spoke up.

"Come find me."

And before I could even say a word, Louis left me, standing in the middle of the woods. I heard the crunching sound become louder and louder as he ran away, causing me to groan.

"Louis, I'm too lazy for running!" I chanted to whatever direction I thought he took.

Sprinting slightly, I tried finding the childish boy. I knew he couldn't have gone far. Since he ran away about 1 minute ago.

The past two days have been better than what I could ever imagine. We've became more comfortable with each other since last night. And I genuinely love being around this silly British boy I've grown to like over the time I've known him.

I don't think I'll ever admit my true feelings, however. Since he just got out of the fling he had with Claire, and his mindset isn't the best for another relationship.

And it's not like he likes me anyways.

Walking through the woods, I started to get worried since the sound of him running suddenly stopped. All I could hear was birds chirping and the wind stirring slightly.

"Louis?" I called out.

My body was soon taken over by being frightened. I fell to the ground due to a body colliding into it. My back hit the leaves-covered ground, crushing most of them in the process. I opened my eyes to a snickering Louis, towering over and looking at me.

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "You're so mean."

Rolling his eyes at me, he held his hand out, "You love me." I refused to grab his hand he was holding out, and held my arms out instead.

"You're gonna have to carry me," Louis playfully scoffed at me. "Due to you forcefully pushing me, I'm not walking anymore." He pulled his hands out of his hoodie pocket.

He didn't hesitate, though. The boy grabbed me by my waist and pulled me up. Turning around, he bent down so I could reach up to be on his back.

Smiling, I gladly hopped on his back. Hopefully I'm not too heavy for him to carry though, honestly.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and I felt him tighten his grip on my thighs. Making sure not to choke him, I loosened my grip. He jumped slightly due to me slowly falling off his back. I adjusted my body. "Your hands are so cold." I chuckled.

"You're so dramatic." Louis assured as he started picking up his walking pace again. Resting my head on his, I nodded. My nose lingered of the smell of his hair. It smelled of a cologne-like shampoo scent, that I could honestly smell all day long if I could.

Louis' body was warm, once again. It made my chilly body 10x better, considering I only had sweatpants and a t-shirt on.

"Mhm, I know." I teased into his ear. A heard a small scoff leave his mouth. "I hope I'm not too heavy."

Louis spoke, "You're okay, Ry." I grinned slightly. He headed towards the direction of the entryway of the woods.

"Now, start playing with my hair to return the favor, you peasant."
