part 7 The Demon meets his prey
"Shadow, you should get some rest. You've had an extremely long , and hard day. " "For once Clyde is actually underreacting, you'll need much more than rest. You're going to need much more-" "Connor! I was trying to keep her from worrying!"
Connor just shrugged and Clyde rolled his eyes and sighed. Shadow looked at them worriedly, "Hey wait! What happened to me. I don't remember anything." "I'm sure you'll remember soon. If you don't remember by tomorrow me and Clyde will fill you in."
And with that being said Clyde and Connor left the tent. The tent grew dark, the only light came from the moon light dimly shining between the tent doors. Shadow sighed and tried to get some sleep, she felt cuts and bone scrapping pain wearing away her energy. The darkness grew darker, Shadow's pain melted away, a figure of a scrawny man stood in front of her. His body covered in ancient, metal armor and made his voice hollow and demonic
, "So you have the courage to meet your demon. I thought you never wanted to have anyone see me again yet here you are. Facing the first Domnae of your blood line, the first to make the blessing and curse that you hold on your back."
Shadow shifted herself to a fighting stance as she spoke. "Listen metal brains! I don't know what the hell your talking about. But if you're another dam demon then I guess I'll just have to put your pathic taste in metal in it's rightful place, back in the ground!"
The Domnae laughed maniacally, "Do you really think you'll stop me! Look around you, you're in a dream, you're in your head and so am I! If you hurt me you'll hurt yourself. Now, since that has got you to think rationally I suggest you listen! Normally Fanileas with this blessing and curse don't get to see me, they're too weak to handle the full power of a Domnae. But! You're different, very different... never have I seen someone be so blood thirsty, so insane, so deadly, so... so... so much like me! You're almost to good to be true! Now of course you don't think like me but you have my killer instinct! And that's what you're world needs right now isn't it? So why don't we become one? Why do you still push me away?" "What are you talking about! Do you not understand how to give straight answers!" "Hmmmm... I forgot you lost your memory about yesterday. Well you do remember fighting some soldiers right? The ones fighting the rebel army your father leads, Kaytal."
Shadow's memory began to come back to her, she was standing over the body of a soldier who's throat she had just ripped off. She started to attack five other soldiers when all of a sudden a grenade flew over them and landed at Shadow's paws. She quickly turned back into a human, to run much more distance than a wolf could, the grenade went off it was too late. Its fragments flew in a sixty foot radius, killing all in its way. Shadow stood there, pearlized by the fragments stabbing her, they scraped and cut through her bones. When the smoke had dispersed thirty men and women lay dead around her, both from the rebel and the Imperial Army. Shadow fell to the ground, her vision blurred and slowly faded to black. The last thing she saw was BayaDane running towards her. "Now do you remember." The Domnae spoke, "You turned into your true Domnae form and fought for your war brothers and sisters, and you're only alive because a true Domnae can withstand 50 times the power of that grenade. But you are in so much pain cause you bear the body of a human, but you'll grow stronger with time you'll grow."
The Domnae vanished and Shadow woke up. The sun was high in the sky and Clyde and Connor were sitting by Shadow's bed. Clyde rested his head on Connor's shoulder as they slept, both breathing rhythmically in unison.
