(Thank you AmandaSephrina for letting me use your characters!) (This is and extra it doesn't really go with the story so... this takes place when Shadow is young too. enjoy!)
The sun glowed hues of red and pink as it began to rise from its sleeping, horns and whistles echoed loudly through the pine forest. Soldiers walked out of their tents some were pulling up pants, pulling down shirts, brushing teeth, and even struggling to get their boots on. Generals shouted out commands and the soldiers began to march as they started their daily exercises, BayaDane dug his sword in the ground and rested his hands on its hilt as he surveyed his soldiers. Behind him was his tent and out popped Shadow who was putting on her new rebel coat that was still too big for her. She tugged on her father's sleeve and he bent down, "Well now! Mornin sleepy head, some soldier you are sleeping in like that."
He chuckled as she looked at him shocked and annoyed. He patted her head, "Only six years old... man how time flys... Say now? Since you're still too young for training why don't you go play in the woods?"
Shadow bounced on her toes and pointed at her head, "I want my hair in a braid!" "Are you sure you're asking the right person to do that? Clyde knows how to do your hair." "Clyde said you were better!"
BayaDane stared at her surprised, he smiled and stared across from her at Clyde with insane red eyes. He spoke through gritted teeth, "Did he now? Well I can't disappoint my little girl now can I? *sigh* Alright turn around."
Shadow giggled as she turned around, BayaDane put her long black hair in two equally long braids, she hugged her dad. "Now why don't you go play in the forest now? Before ya go, what will you do if you see an Imperial?" "I kill 'em! Just like you daddy!"
Shadow smiled an evil little smile as she put her hands together, pretending that she was choking someone. BayaDane chuckled, "You're still a little too young for that, plus you don't have any training!" "*sigh* I run..." "Good girl!"
BayaDane stood up as Shadow hopped off into the forest.
The sun rose high in the sky, the pine trees created large shadows that kept the ground cold, warm winds melted frostbitten grass. Shadow hopped around, swinging a large stick that she found around, like it was a sword. She jumped in the air and stabbed the ground as if it was a finishing blow to an enemy, the stick got stuck in the ground. Shadow pulled the stick out and it whacked her in the face, she put her hand on the large stinging wound, it hurt, a lot more then being whipped. A black fog like portal appeared in front of Shadow and two people walked out, the man wore black clothes and long coat, his hair was red and spiky, his eyes were emerald green, the woman wore lighter colored clothes, her hair was also red and her eyes were a pretty hazel. The man stared at Shadow and smiled at her, the woman looked around, "Axel... this isn't the ice cream parlour." "Guess I was a little off this time." He said to her shrugging.
He looked back at Shadow, "Hey there!"
Shadow pointed her stick at him,her hands shook with fear but she stared angrily at him. He laughed and put his hands slightly up, "Look we ain't here to hurt ya kiddo."
Shadow pressed the stick close to her and looked at them curiously. Axel put his hands down and took a step towards Shadow, she took two steps back, "Hey kid? Where'd you'd get that wound?" "Axel leave her alone you're scaring her."
The woman now took a step closer and smiled, Shadow still took two steps back, Axel looked at the woman mockingly, "Now you're scaring her Sehprina!"
Shadow put her stick down and looked at the two's feet then at the ground, Axel tries to get closer to Shadow but in the blink of an eye she turned on her heels and ran, screaming at the top of her lungs, "BAYADANE!! DAD!!"
Axel's jaw dropped and he slightly looked at Sephrina, "I'm not scary am I?!" "Yes you are."
They both run after Shadow but struggle to keep up, the forest was dense and only Shadow knew her way around it. Shadow soon ran into the army camp and hugged the back of BayaDane's leg. Axel and Sephrina soon ran into the camp too, soldier with all types of guns surrounded them, they angrily shouted at them for chasing Shadow. A gunshot rang and the soldiers jumped and grew silent, each one shivering in fear. Some soldiers clear the way making BayaDane visible, Shadow was still latched onto the back of his leg and stared curiously with scared eyes. "First you two chase a little girl around then you enter a military camp without permission! Just who the hell do you think you are!"
Sephrina waved her hand, "Sorry BayaDane! We saw that Shadow had a wound and wanted to help her, but she ran away." "How do you know my daughter's name and mine?" "Because I've seen her and you." "You'll be a dead man soon if you don't explain!" "Just try to kill me. You won't succeed, I'm the guardian of the universe." "Fine then... Who's the spiky freak?" "The name's Axel. Got it memorized?" Axel says as he puts his finger on his temple. "Sure whatever little red- flamesilock." "Ugh! How dare you!" "You definitely don't have the right to say that! Look at the mess you're in!" "We'll be getting out of it soon too."

Axel brought out his Chakrams and Sephrina stared at him angrily, he looked at her as if he wasn't doing anything wrong. A soldier bashed the back of his head with the stock of the rifle he was holding. Axel fell to the floor, a medic grabbed the unconscious Axel and dragged him to BayaDane's tent, Sephrina followed BayaDane to the tent. BayaDane sat on a chair and rested his arms on the table in front of him and Sephrina sat on the armrest of the chair across from him, the medic placed Axel in the chair. BayaDane looked at Sephrina , "Can we trust he won't lash out like that again?" "If he does I'll handle him." "Good cause I wasn't."

The medic held a bottle of smelling salt to Axel's nose and he soon woke up. He crossed his arms and leaned back in the chair, watching as Sephrina and BayaDane talked about battles they were in as well as plans for upcoming battles. The day turned to a moonless night,  BayaDane and Sephrina were still talking but this time the conversation had become completely random. Shadow walked into the tent as well as Clyde and Connor, Connor sat on a couch that was far away from the three and Shadow hopped onto his lap. He cupped her face with his hands as Clyde began to fix the wound on Shadow's face. When Clyde was done Shadow hopped off of Connor's lap and walked to BayaDane, she tugged on his sleeve and BayaDane grabbed a notebook that laid on the table and handed it to her. She sat back down on Connor's lap and began to draw, Axel noticed that Shadow kept looking at him and Sephrina. He leaned over putting his hands on his knees, he rested his head in his hand and smiled at Shadow. Shadow stuck her tongue out, Clyde pinched her tongue and scolded her for rude behavior as Axel rolled his eyes and went back to listening to Sephrina's conversation. BayaDane looked at a clock and looked back at Sephrina, "It's getting awfully late, perhaps you two should stay here for the night. Don't want to get caught in a nighttime skirmish now do ya?" "I guess it wouldn't hurt to stay."

The night became even later as Axel prepared a spot on the floor for him and Sephrina to sleep, Clyde was brushing Shadow's hair since Connor fell asleep on the couch, "Are you sure you don't want to sleep on a bed sir? You two are guest after all." "Well... I wouldn't call us that since we did enter the camp without permission." "Very well then. Shadow it's time for you to go to bed too." "Can I sleep with you and Connor tonight? I've been having a lot of nightmares again..."

Clyde sighed as he put Shadow down, she walked to her little hammock bed and grabbed a wolf stuffed animal as well as a piece of paper. As she walked back she shoved the paper into Axel's hands, he opened the paper and on it was a little drawing of him, "Heh thanks!"

"It's a Chibi! I can only make one at a time. But I'll have one for the lady tomorrow!" "Aww! How sweet of you Shadow!" Sephrina said as she leaned down and patted Shadow's head. Shadow walked back to Clyde who picked her up and she soon fell asleep in his arms before he could even lay down next to Connor.
