M-my name.....I-is....(c/n)....I'm all alone and all of these older countries want land.....I'm so afraid....*sniffle*N-no!I won't cry!I have to be s-strong!

*rustling of bushes*

Ep!What was that?An animal?A person?

It was a boy,he looked like he was in his teens,wearing some dark clothing.There was a sword in his hand,and a large backpack on his back.

"WAHHHHHH!Please don't hurt me!"

I curled up into a ball and started shaking,crying out of fear.

"Please.....d-don't hurt....me..*sniffle*.."

I felt a light tap on my shoulder and it made me jump a bit.

"Hey I'm not going to hurt you....are you a country?"

His voice was kind and soft.I raised my head a little to look at him,and he was smiling.

"(c/n)...."

"So your that new country?It must be really hard getting chased by all those other ones.....here tell you what you can come to my place and we can have some snacks ok?"

I wiped my tears and looked at him holding his open hand out.I reached to it and he stood me up,dusting off the dirt.

"I'm Rodney,well that's my real name at least.Im the country next to yours.Whats your name?"

"D-don't have one...."

"Oh well here I'll carry you to my house so nothing can hurt you."

Rodney picked me up and carried me all the way to his house.It was a pretty big house on a hill.It had a nice view of the town below it and a forest in the back.There was also a flat area before the forest that looked so nice to run around in.

When he put me down in the house,I   could smell the baked goods in the oven.Wow he is so much nicer to me then the others!

"Hey Rodney!Are you making banana bread again.......Um who?"

There was a boy coming down the steps.He had short dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.He kind of looks around my age if not a little older.

"Oh this is (c/n),I found her all alone in the forest,so I brought her with me.(c/n) that's Croatia,I hope you two get along now ok?"

"Wait (c/n)?Your like my neighbor hi!Rodney found me too,and he's been taking care of me for a little.Ill be going back to my country soon,but it's nice to meet you!"

I shook his hand and then partook in the delicious banana bread.It was warm and sweet,with some walnuts in it too.

"Here do you have a place to stay?I have an extra room next to Croatia's if you'd like."

"Y-you do?Would that cause you any trouble?I-I don't want to be a hinderance toward you...."

"Don't worry about all of that,your welcome to stay with me!"

Why were they being so nice to me?On first instance most people would attack me and chip away at my land...

The room was plain,but it had everything I needed so I didn't mind.All the places I've lived in got destroyed,so I'm not too comfy being here for now.

I'm terrified of people.

"Not to scare you or anything,but I kind of want to know some things about you.Well if your ok with it."

What is there to know about me?Im just the global scape goat,everyone is fighting over my land even though they haven't broken me down yet.

"Ok well what does your flag look like?"

I thought for a second.I know what it looks like,It's just....a little hard to explain.There was a paper that I remember in the living room,so I ran down the stairs again.

I showed him the paper,hoping he would get what I'm trying to do.

"Oh do you want to draw it?Let me get some colored pencils...."

He came back with a nice pack of them and I got to work.I did a nice little sketch of it and showed it to him shyly.

"Wow yours looks nice!Ok next question,do you have like an older or younger sibling?I would like to tell them that your here if you do."

I shook my head no and almost started crying.Im all alone in this stupid world!

"Hey hey please don't cry....here I can be your um....big brother if you want me to?"

"B-big brother?"

It had a nice ring to it for some reason.I really like having a big brother around....Shaking my head yes,I was startled by this loud noise.
I took a pillow off the couch and hid under it curling as tight into a ball as possible.

"Huh?Oh don't worry those are just some fire works from the town,do you want to see them?"

I lifted my head and then he put out his hand.I held it,and he walked me back up the stairs to a balcony.It had a really nice view,and the fire works were really cool.

"Look at that one,it's the flags colors right?"

He lifted me up so I could see the shining lights in the sky.It actually made me happy somehow,I really don't know why.

"Woah!These look.....Rodney?"
I heard Croatia's voice from before so I turned my head to see him standing in the doorway.He looked just as amazed as me.

After a while,Rodney put me down saying that we should all get some sleep.He tucked me into the bed and even told me a little story about himself before leaving my room.

I couldn't fall asleep.

The fireworks were still going,making it hard for me to sleep.

*knock*

Croatia opened my door with a flashlight and two large things in his.

"(c/n),your still up?"

I got out of my bed and looked at him for a second.Didn't he get put in his room too?

"Ok you want to try something?Hold this."

He handed me a stick,but I could tell there was something on one side.To me it felt like a flag.When shined spin by the flashlight,it was my flag and he had on for his I'm guessing.

"Ok follow me,but we have to be quiet!"

He whispered leaving my room.I felt my way to the balcony again,closing my door.Perched on the railing like a bird he dropped both items off the porch.

Then he jumped after it.

He landed smoothly,rolling and then waiting for me to do the same.I dropped the flag,but I was scared to jump.

"Don't worry I'll catch you okay?"

I was hesitating for a second,but I jumped and he did catch me.He took my hand while I picked up the flag,making us move through the forest.

When I saw the lights in the distance,I thought it was a person,but it turned out being the town.He started waving his flag,running around with it and I just stood there at first before joining him.

I was smiling.

I was laughing.

I had fun.

Just showing my flag proudly to everyone made me happy,and I was smiling nonstop.

"It's sad how you had fun.What happened to waving that flag so proud,when now you just want to DIE?"
