First house ( Bret and Aaron)

It's been a few months since Bret has found an " official" home for the two them. Bret walked into the now full house. Bret and Aaron have been on the run for a year now, maybe a little longer.

About a year ago Bret made an agreement with the authorities, specifically Ryan, to be his snitch around the city in exchange for no jail time. His theft years were behind him, but he couldn't take being a snitch. The constant spying, being under the constant scrutiny of a detective and it put Aaron in constant danger (He just wouldn't admit it out loud he was concerned) So, he packed up minimal items and snuck out of the human/fay city.

The goddess must have been on his side because abandoned in the deep wood was a cottage. The windows were busted, floorboards were pulled up, cobwebs everywhere, and those were just the easy tasks to fix up. But it was a home for now.

Everyday Brett would get up and fix up their new home. Three times a week he would sneak out towards a city, a different one every time, and either scavenge or steal what they needed to fill the house. Once it was past a month, then he went into stores and bought what he needed.

Today was the day he could relax. He was wearing his favorite Grey hoody with a black shirt on, he was not going to do anything today. Bret walked towards his room, not his bedroom. Bret had a special room where he keeps his past in. On a desk, there were piles and piles of books stacked up, magic books. In the corner, there was a truck full of his past materials he told himself he would never need again. In the walls were maps of diagrams and pictures of symbols to help practice his magical ability.

Bret sat down at the chair and opened up one of the larger books marked "Elemental control" and when straight to the back chapters. Brett was not usually a guy who read or studied, but since he stopped being the greatest safe cracker he had to keep himself busy somehow, and he focused more on his elemental abilities.

He always remembered his adoptive father trying to show him uses of wind magic, but he was never interested. Now being older he's noticed the appeal, and secretly wishing he paid more attention.

Bret lost time oh how long he's been in his study.

Air Wall
Air wall is a straight defensive spell. It is similar to Tornado, but you are not encasing your opponent in. The length of the wall and how sturdy is based off...

Bret jerked his head up, because his ears were perked up, and he could hear a nuclear, soft noise coming in his direction from the distance.

Ahhh I thought she was outside exploring.

He could tell she was trying to sneak up on him. To a normal human, they definitely would not be able to hear her, but he was a fay. His Senses were like a cat. His hunting instincts were made for this exact situation.

Bret decided to pretend he did not hear her and see where this goes. He went back to his book.

////////////////////////////////////////////

Aaron hasn't seen her cat mate in a while. She was looking around this humongous house for any sigh of Bret.

He has to be in his study.

She ran down the wooden balconies and down some ladders.

When they both moved in here, Bret made sure he learned how to make intricate pathways, balconies and ladders for the girl. The fay was a lazy laid-back guy, but he cared in his own way. I mean there first meeting he "stole her away" because he thought it would be useful to have someone her size to get into buildings and pick locks easier, but over the years he showed he's developed a soft spot for the teen. Just most the time it was hard to spot past that lazy, bastard/jerk demeanor he showed on the outside.

The one room he did not make anything for the girl was in his study. She knew he picked up magic, but not exactly what. Every time she got near, he would shoo her away.

She noticed he was distracted reading a book, so this was her chance to be nosey/practice her seeking skills. He made it harder for her to go in there because she was a natural climber, That's another reason why he picked her, so he made sure there weren't many places for her to scurry across.

She touched the door and it surprisingly made a soft squeaking sound. Aaron froze to catch her surroundings and see if he made any movements.

Good, he didn't hear.

Aaron scurried across the floor to his desk. She knew if she mused the drawers, he would notice her body moving immediately. She scurried to the back of the desk that was shoved close to the wall. Aaron grabbed her hook that always keeps with her and tossed it high enough it caught onto one of his books. Aaron tugged onto the rope to make sure it was hooked properly, then paused to make sure Bret did not move or make any indication he knew she was there.

Ok... I'm good.

Aaron started to climb up one section at a time.
When Bret made a movement, or she needed a break she placed her feet against the back of the wooden desk to steady her body.

After the third time stopping and almost getting to the top, she felt movement on the string.

What?

It was just vibrating like someone was messing with it.

Then she felt a swift movement of the string getting pulled directly up. She clung on by hugging her body close to the lifeline and closed her eyes shut until the movement stopped.

After a few moments of no movement, she slowly opened up her eyes and peered at a curious fay.

Bret was leaning his head against one open hand that was sticking straight up cuffing his chin. His head was tilted to the side a bit. He was holding the string in the other hand that was above his head.

" And what are you doing?" Bret asked nonchalantly. While raising one eyebrow.

" Nothing"

" Well I know that's a lie." he just glared at her questionly until she answered.

" Fine if you don't want to answer."

Bret placed the string, hook, and her on the desk. Aaron was unsure what he was doing, so she was about to just walk away, but she got thrown off her feet by running unto something. She appeared up and noticed a clear cup was placed right on top of her to prevent movement.

" Hmmm what is this?!"her voice was muffled but bearable.

" You wanted to he here so your staying here."

Aaron pounded on the glass. " Let me out. "

" No" Bret didn't look up from his book.

" You can't do this to me."

" Just did." He turned a page.

" I'll lose oxygen."

He finally looked up because of her statement. " No, you won't"

Aaron this started to grab into her neck and fell to the floor dramatically.

" Help, I can't breathe." She started to crawl on the floor and placed one hand on the " Window" She continued to get at her neck.
" Please"

Bret just rolled his eyes. " Stop exaggerating"

Aaron stopped and started to laugh. " Oh come on don't believe me.

She grabbed onto her neck again with both hands and fell onto her back dramatically. " I'm dead."

Bret was trying not to show a hint of amusement and went back to his reading.

Aaron got up and sat on the ground and hugged her knees to her body.

" What are you reading?"

" Learning wind magic" he peered over at her with one eye.

" Show me. "

Bret sighed but still pushed the book over for her to see.

" What's that?"

Aaron pointed to the opposite side.

" What this? "He pointed to the picture. "It's water magic, mostly used to heal, though. Kind of boring."

Aaron was actually interested.
