A/N: Mikey's newest video (May 25th 2023) on TEAM SKY!!! Gave me inspiration for this one~shot. Btw all of this will be platonic. Idk how old is May in the Team Sky storyline but my headcanon is that she's a young adult. Because Team Sky doesn't approve of child labor...wait what did I type-

Ok one~shot time!

(3rd Person PoV)

May was arranging some papers when Lacer, the head scientist, walked in.

"May, our lord is back from his trip to Paldea," he said.

"Ah, alright. That took longer than most of his trips. Has he managed to expand the sky yet?" May asked, albeit sarcastically when she asked about the sky.

"Well...he's in a bit of a state. When he walked in, he ignored everyone and went straight to his office. When he comes back from a trip, he usually goes for a cup of coffee or a cup of a slushy and then he talks to either you or me about status reports. He has done that when he returns from all of his trips but now he hasn't," Lacer explained.

May looked up.

"Maybe he's just tired. After all, Paldea is almost a three day trip from Hoenn," she suggested.

"I think not. I have studied our lord's behavior whenever he comes back. This is most unusual of him," Lacer admitted.

May gave him a look that said, 'Bro, you need to go touch some grass.'

She then stood up from her desk and sighed. "Fine, I'll go check on him."

"Thank you," Lacer bowed his head.

May walked all the way towards Mikey's office and knocked on the door.

"Hey boss, it's me, May. Can I come in?" She asked.

Silence...

She knocked again.

"Mikey, Lacer said that you're acting off. I'm just here to make sure that you're ok," May stated.

Silence...

And then she heard some rustling behind the door and it opened a peek.

"Can I come in?" May asked.

"...sure," Mikey said and opened the door.

His office is a mess as usual. May keeps telling him to clean up but does he listen?

No, not really.

May sat down in a chair, facing opposite of where Mikey sits. He took his spot there.

"So...what's up? Lacer told me that you have been feeling off since you came back from Paldea," May started.

Best to rip the bandage off and just outright ask.

Which surprised Mikey. I mean, he knows that May can be direct but this direct?

That's a new one.

"Off? Me? The great leader of Team Sky?! I think not! I'm doing a-ok!" Mikey cheered, making an ok sign.

"I smell bs," May stated.

"Bs nah! I'm fine, really," Mikey tried got a smile but his facial muscles just couldn't do it.

"Look, I'm not going to make fun of you like I usually do. You're in a safe spot talking to either me or Lacer," May assured him with genuine support.

"..." Mikey looked down and began to fiddle around with a Castform theme pen. It was one of his favorites.

He took a deep breath and started, "I met a future version of myself."

"You met who now?" May asked, shocked.

"You interrupted me, how dare you," Mikey gasped, dramatically.

"Sorry," May apologized.

"As I was saying, I met a future version of myself. I don't know all the details but apparently something went wrong with my trip in Paldea which caused him to turn even more evil than...ok who am I kidding? We're not truly evil like Team Magma and Tesm Aqua," Mikey sighed.

May listened intently at this.

"So that version of me became bitter and angry before forming up a plan to become truly evil. Blocking the sky so it could become eternal darkness. He went back in time in multiple timelines to do the exact same thing to any past version of me and up until now, he has been successful. He rebranded our team name to Team Night Sky and ruined the beautiful sky," Mikey went on.

May was speechless at this.

Mikey, ruining the very thing that he swore to protect? It wasn't a lie, May knew that much because Mikey is terrible at lying.

"So you beat him right is what I'm assuming?" She asked and Mikey nodded.

"I spilt apart that timeline to make our future not be a disastrous one but I can't help but wonder...why would I do such a thing? Even if it wasn't the me now, it was a me in the future. Would I really harm the sky like that?" Mikey asked, his tone quivering.

May reached over and touched Mikey's hand.

"Listen, whoever that future version of yourself was, it's not the you now. He'll never be the one that you would become because you beat him. You changed your future and the sky is safe because of this. If he comes back and tries to lead you into that path again, then we will all lead you back to the right one. The one where we expand the sky and not destroy it. You have me, Lacer, GruntyBoi (for some odd reason) and many more of us in Team Sky. We expanded our team since you first recruited me and we care about you and the sky. We won't let you be led astray. We won't give up on you so you shouldn't either. You are our strong leader, Mikey," she told him.

"..." Mikey was speechless. Has he really made an impact on his team?

May, who has been annoyed by his antics, is comforting him? He can tell that she was being genuine here.

Maybe she has another side to her that he hasn't quite seen yet.

"...thank you, May," he told her.

She gave him a small nod.

"I mean it. All of it! The Mikey that I know will never let down his team and the sky. He would protect it with his life. Even if it means bending time and space for it," May said.

"Yeah...yeah you're right! Team Night Sky Mikey would never do what I am doing! He would harm the sky instead of protecting it but I'm not him! I am different because I have hope!" Mikey cheered.

That's the Mikey that we all know, May thought with a smile.

"May, write this down. This will be our new mission," Mikey snapped his fingers and May took out her notepad that she always carries around.

Team Sky's new mission: Expand the Sky AND protect the Sky.

A/N: this took a while but I finally made it! Woooo!

I just knew that I had to write something based on Mikey's video and so I did ^^
