Year 2025

Three years since the war started, people were retreated back to the city of Trost. The military had to initiate one last resort to prevent further advancing of the Marley troops, they blew up the bridges that connected Shinganshina to Trost. From now on the two city were divided by the Rose river. We managed to find a little place for us to live, since that place is almost abandoned because of the war so not many people dare to live there. Soon we were enlisted into the military brigade.

Eren's POV

Flashback

"So Eren.....you want to join the military...?", Armin asked.

"Yeah! That's my dream, my parents were killed by those goddamn Marley soldier!", I said.

"I'll join the military too....", Mikasa said as she sat on her bed.

"What! No Mikasa----"

"No you listen Eren, I want to avenge my parents too...you're not the only one who lost your parents.", she coldly said.

"Armin....?", I said.

"I'll also join, since I already have nothing to lose.", he faked a smile and said. "Well we are being paid more in the military though, we have food and shelter in the base, so what can possibly go wrong."

"So....let's enlist together tomorrow.", I said.

Flashback end

I woke up early in the morning where the sun just barely appeared at the horizon. I stood at the top floor of a abandoned apartment, stared at the fireballs emerged from Shinganshina at the distance. Roaring sound of the fighter jets ripped through the sky, bombs were being dropped, I helpless watched as the building collapsed or being blown apart.

"Can we get back to the town we used to know?", a thought appeared in my mind as I looked at the distant Shinganshina.

"Eren....", I noticed Mikasa walked towards me.

"What's the matter, Mikasa?", I asked.

"Time to wake up.....", she said as she slowly fades away. I cracked opened my eyes, realized I'm already in the military barracks while Sergeant Shadis is banging the door, forced us to wake up.

I reluctantly get up and ran to my locker and get changed into my military uniform. I grabbed my assault rifle and ran towards the meeting point.

The next thing I know, I'm already in the military chopper, heading towards the war zone. I looked around, luckily I'm dispatched into the same team with my friends who enlist in the military too. My team consist of me, Mikasa, Armin, Connie and Sasha. Callsign : Razor

"Okay rookies! The frontline squad is taking heavy fire, we're there to provide support! Understand?", Lieutenant Rico Brzenska said.

"Ackerman, Braus. You two go to the roof to provide sniper support for us. Yeager, you lead the rest of your squad kill the rest of those bastard! Understand?"

"Yes ma'am!"

Mikasa's POV

Our team landed on the ground, we ran as fast as we can to go to the frontline.

"Mikasa, Sasha! This building is fine! Be careful okay?", Armin pointed at the building beside us and said.

"We're counting on you two.", Eren said with a smile on his face before he joined the rest of the soldier.

"Come on Sasha, let's go.", I said as we ran up the stairs and reached the top floor. I set up my sniper rifle and laid down at the edge. I watched though the scope, searching for potential danger.

"Sasha, if bad things happen. I need your support since you use a semi-automatic rifle rather than bolt-action rifle as I do."

"Don't worry, you have me on your back.", she said with confidence as she prepared her weapon. I looked through the scope as I saw the veterans with exo-skeleton suit raced towards the frontline.

--30 minutes later--

"Crap....looks like the entire frontline squad is totally annihilated...", Eren said though the radio comms.

"Eren, I got a bad feeling....look out for ambush.....this place is way too quiet.", I said

"Acknowledged.", he replied.

"Hey Mikasa, where are the veterans anyways?", Sasha asked.

"They have better equipment than us, like exo-skeleton suit, better weapon. We all just using left overs. It's even not sufficient for this war.", I replied. She sighed as we continued to search for target.

"Hey Mikasa, I think I just found the veterans......they're dead.", Eren said though the radio comms.

"Shit....be careful, they must be nearby.", I said.

"Contact front! I see a dozen people ran towards you!", I shouted at the radio comms.

I put my finger on the trigger.

Breathe in

"This gun maybe sucks, but I'll hit them, no matter what.", a thought appeared in my mind.

Breathe out

"Okay M24, I'll trust you."

Bang...!

"Shit! I missed!", I cursed under my breath as I pulled the bolt and the bullet cartridge flew out. I stared dead at the crosshair and pulled the trigger.

Bang...!

The next thing I saw is the person fell down. I aimed at the next target and pulled the trigger, a little while later the enemy solider had been eliminated.

"Thanks for the support, Mikasa.", Eren said though the radio comms.

"You're welcome.", I replied.

Eren's POV

We realized it's almost night time and operations after sunset are forbidden so we decided to find a place to call for the day. We walked until we reached the place I familiar with --- Shinganshina High School.

"*sigh* We're finally back, huh?", Armin said as I looked at the school building.

"Yeah.....it's been a while.", Mikasa replied.

"All right, let's check for enemy activities within the campus.", I said. "I'll take the lead."

We walked in, we didn't say anything as we tried to conceal our appearance. We walked slowly, checked every room and every corridor and found nothing. We managed to get into a classroom with a good view outside.

"Finally have some rest, spending the entire day walking.", Connie said as he removed his gear.

"Yeah, rest is what we need but remember, we're still in the war zone so don't let your guard down.", I said.

"Yeah....yeah...I know.", he said as he immediately went to sleep.

"*sigh* Dumbass....", I mumbled as I gave him a smirked. Suddenly I heard footsteps outside the corridor.

"Guys....", I whispered as I picked up my gun and pointed at the door. I got up and move closer. I ran outside and pointed at the person.

"Huh? Lieutenant Rico...?"

"Yeager.....you're still alive....", she smirked at me.

"Seriously....you wish me dead?", I said as I lowered my gun and went back to the room.

"We'll take turns to secure our perimeters.", she said.

"Roger that.", we all replied.

I closed my eyes and have a little nap since I'm tired of walking the entire day. After that, I've been woke up by Armin who just finished his shift.

"Eren....*yawn*...your turn...", he said.

"Fine Armin, go get some rest.", I said as I gave him a smile. I got up and suit up, I took my gun and started to do some security patrol around the school. I got up to the roof and looked around for enemy activities.

"You know you can't sneak up behind me anymore, right.......Mikasa.", I said as I sensed someone walking towards me from behind.

"You getting better now.....Eren.", I turned back my head and saw the person standing behind me is Mikasa.

"Why you're here now, aren't your shift is after me?", I asked.

"Well I can't sleep anyways....", she replied.

"Whatever, let's do it together.", I said as I smiled at her.
