– I think we should finally start looking for him – Sapphire bursted out, making all the angels at the meeting stare at him with disbelief and shock. – He's been away far too long, and it's time to do something.

No-one said a word. They weren't sure whether he was actually right, or was just wishing to die.

– Our Lord made it clear not to look for him no matter what happens. Then why are you saying such foolish things, going against His orders? – asked one of the most loyal, Rafael.

Sapphire needed some time to think before he could answer.

– We all know about the souls trapped on the other side of the Gate. There's no more room for them and the only person who could expand Heaven is God. Without Him there'll be an even bigger chaos.

– They're just souls, they couldn't do anything. The souls inside are happy enough to hold up Heaven. All the others that are outside don't matter, they can feel however they want, we are not threatened by them in any way. – another angel argued.

– You're wrong. Evie is our example that souls are capable of anything if they're upset about something. – Sapphire's comment made everyone quiet again. Now they knew he was right, it wasn't hard to convince them.

– But God could even banish us and forbid for us to enter Heaven again. What will we do then? We were made to be here... – another commenter.

– Lucifer seems to get along just fine, even without this place. I think we could manage to stay alive as well.

– What are you saying, Sapphire?! Have you gone completely mad? – Rafael rarely raised his voice, but this was one of those few moments when he did. – We understand that he's your father, but that doesn't mean you can just go around talking about him like that. God had a good reason to make him fall, don't forget that.

– I haven't forgotten, don't worry... – said Sapphire, looking down for a minute. – But I only mentioned him because you were so afraid of a life without the heavenly light. – he seemed to be mocking the purely made angels, as he was a son of an archangel and a powerful witch.

– Don't you dare-

– I don't dare. – Sapphire smirked. – Just think about what I have said. – He stood up, arranging his papers. – We should look for Him... – As he walked out the door, leaving the tense group behind, he could feel Rafael's disapproving glare on his back, followed by some of his companions'.

I was standing on the balcony on the 5th floor, examining the regions visible. Laughter and joy filled the air but the best thing that afternoon was the comfortable light breeze that made my hair wave happily. Today was nice. Nothing bad had happened, not like that was possible inside Heaven, aside from the space shortage, that won't solve itself. I hoped the angels would solve this problem quickly.

– Out here again by yourself, kitten? – Sapphire was leaning in the doorway, a tired smile on his face. I spun around excitedly.

– You're done with the meeting? What did you talk about? – my eyes shone with curiosity and I sneaked closer to my best supernatural friend in Heaven.

– We haven't made any progress – he sighed and looked up at the great blue sky. – They don't want to accept whatever I suggest. This time they brought up my dad and his mistakes so I left them there. – His eyes now searched mine, looking for something.

– You won't tell me about your father, will you? – I grimaced, knowing the answer already.

Instead of saying anything he ran his fingers through his rich black hair and closed his eyes. The light fell perfectly on his strong jawline and clear skin. He was almost definitely too handsome for a mere angel.

– Come with me to Earth. – He finally broke the silence between us.

– Wha- What are you even saying? – I was surprised he would even think about it. I studied his face which spoke of seriousness, so he wasn't joking at all. – Are you really asking me that right now? I can't believe it... – I was happy of the idea but also felt something was stopping me.

– You've always wanted to revisit the mortal realms, what happened, Evie? – He looked at me confused.

I glanced behind me.

– I guess ... nothing will change if I leave for a bit.

– Good answer – he smiled and put his hands on my waist, pulling me closer. – We're leaving this evening. Meet me near the Gates, my favourite human soul – with a kiss on my forehead he flew away.

I didn't know what to think. I was just standing there, blushing like an idiot. Is it even possible for a simple soul to blush? I quickly hurried home to pack my things although I wasn't quite sure what I needed. Or if I even needed anything, to begin with.

It was getting darker outside, that's when I knew I had to depart. Although neither souls nor angels sleep, God made so that the sky up here got dark when it was dark on Earth to sooth any uneasy souls.

The Gates were far away from my home so when I arrived it was already dark. I looked around not seeing anyone.

– So, you're ready? – Sapphire suddenly appeared behind me causing me to jump a little. – Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you – he chuckled.

He had only one smaller backpack, lightly packed with some things that I had yet to discover. His eyes looked happy, he was certain that his decision is going to have a positive response once we get back from the mortals.

– Shall we? – He held out his hand to me and I took it, still a small bit unsure, then we walked out of Heaven.
