Chapter 4

Something cold kissed my skin steadily, and the cold feeling was becoming unbearable. Slowly opening my eyes, I noticed that the bed was way up and I was down. What?

Rubbing my eyes again, I scanned the room I was in and sighed relief that I was still in my room. How did I get to the floor? I know I'm not the heavy sleeper, and even if I was, I would've noticed when I rolled off.

With a groan, I flinched from the cold contact and stood up carefully - not enough to wake anyone up.

What's the time?

Reluctantly, I increased the brightness of the lights and shifted my eyes to the ticking clock on the wall. I gasped at the bold numbers, 3AM.

At least I got four hours of sleep.

I yawned and regretted doing that because in the process of doing that, a thunderbolt made me almost lose my jaw.

"It's been raining?". I rose my eyebrows in surprise and quickly closed the windows. "I quickly have to meet the other maidens for a start".

I battled with my thoughts on leaving the room in my pyjamas or not but at the end I still walked away, shrugging that it was only for the morning.

The hallway was very creepy and dark, almost impossible for me to seem through even, but as the thunderbolt kept rolling in, the image of the hall became clearer even though I had no idea of where I was going.

Hmm, I remember Adam showing me this way.

Without a second thought, I made my way to the stairs, tiptoeing downstairs so as not to trip over something or at least someone.

I smiled to myself when I recognised this place to be the living room, the very first place I met the Head Chef.

I let out a small squeal of surprise when the flashing lightning revealed the silhouette of someone laying on a couch, not faraway.

What would someone be doing in a couch when he's got a room all to himself?

Curiously, I made my way to the still figure and studied him a bit, he's probably asleep. "E-excuse me sir but...I'm looking for the maidens section?".

Fear gripped me when he didn't answer or move at all. Was he dead? I bit my lips and stared at the chest which wasn't moving at all. I think... something's not right.

I uncoiled the blanket over the guy's shoulder and placed my head on the chest, almost screaming at the unpleasant result.

"P-police". Was the only word I could say shakingly before reaching out for the nearby telephone.

The lump in my throat tightened when the telephone got snatched away from my view before I could even take it.

"Which devil came to torment me this time?". The guy groaned, glaring at me from the corner of his eyes with the telephone clutched in his other hand.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. How...how could he still be alive? "Y-your heart...it's not beating and you...you're still talking? How's that... possible?".

Before I could even talk further, he had pushed me down and pinned me to the ground with an annoyed look on his face. I wanted to scream for help but it'd be useless since it's raining heavily.

"Who are you?". He squinted his eyes at me. "What is your mission here?".

I gulped and shuddered at the impact of his strong grip. "I'm...I'm just a maid! I promise! Please...your hurting me!".

I couldn't see his face clearly but I could feel his tongue lingering across my jaws. I shuddered in fear and wriggled as much as possible but his grip was way too strong.

"You're going to pay for checking me out". He whispered behind my ears in a deep low husky breath. Just before he was about to do anything funny, the lights to the living room flickered on. My face completely fell when I saw another annoyed guy folding his arms as he glared at us. How many more guys would I continue to make annoyed this morning?

"What are you doing?". The guy asked, in a very familiar voice. Oh. No.

"I-I can explain...". I began, hoping he'd believe me, but he placed his finger on his lips to silence me and turned back to the guy besides me.

Wait, something isn't right again.

"You didn't tell me you'd be back today".

The guy besides me scoffed and stood up, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Do I need to tell you every little thing?".

The whole time they were talking I was staring at the both of them in complete shock. The same emerald eyes, the same pointed nose, the same black hair.

Don't tell me it's what I'm thinking it is.

"Which of you is my master?". I blurted out, running my eyes over the both of them in awe. "T-there are both of...you".

The both of them went silent but then the one at our front then spoke up. "It's the both of us...".

The both of them?

I rose my eyebrows in surprise and slowly walked backwards with the intention of running away from what I just discovered.

"Don't even move an inch". The one behind me growled and pulled me to his body roughly.

"L-let me go!". Fear gripped me at the impossible possibility of this guy.

"Let her go, Nicole".

"We can't trust her".

"We can force her to comply".

Force me?

"Fine". Nicole scoffed and pushed me carelessly to his brother, making me bump into his chest.

"I thought I warned you". The guy in my front frowned deeply at me, making me shiver and want to shrink into nothing.

"It's...not midnight". I tried to sound polite but my anger made it sound the otherwise.

He didn't look pleased with that and a twinkle of red flashed in his eyes. A gasp left my lips and before I knew it, my legs were already working on their own.

I managed to get away from him but not enough to get away from the insane brothers. Another hand yanked me from behind, sending cold chills all over me.

"Cole got a girl and didn't get me to join in the fun, that's so unlike him".

I slapped the mysterious hand away and walked back slowly, clutching my necklace and holding it in the air against them.

The unfamiliar guy laughed. "A cross necklace against vampires? How interesting...".

"Dude, seriously?!".

"I thought we've talked about this, Michael! Do you think brainwashing is easy?!".

My jaws dropped. Now some part of the mystery makes sense. The sudden disappearance of girls, the weird vibes, no heartbeats...I think I'm in the wrong place. I need to get out of here!

The darkened look in their eyes pulled on the instinct of escape. "I-I'm going home! I'd just...act like nothing happened...and then...".

"A-and then...". I twisted the knob of the door again but nothing worked.

The door was literally locked. I panicked and began banging on the door for anyone to hear. I can't live in a house of monsters!

I watched as Cole walked slowly to me while the other two vampires watched him with a mischievous smirk. Panting for breath, I ran straight to the nearest place which happened to be the kitchen, only for a hand to pull me back into his chest.

"Stay and let us talk this out".
